"Go to Cafe Angelino and order one thing and one thing only: the angel hair pasta with aglio e olio. As much as I love Toscana, nothing will compare to the angel hair aglio e olio at Cafe Angelino. It is seriously exceptional. I usually get that and a Diet Coke. It's so old school Italian. It was near my old apartment. [The first time I went,] I did an angel hair, tomato-y thing. And then I was like, 'Wait: could you just do this aglio e olio?' I love aglio e olio, as you can tell." - brennan carley

I've been going to this restaurant since I was a student, and it was one of my favorites. I went there for the first time in a while after the COVID-19 pandemic. I was really looking forward to it. This day was my husband's birthday, so I asked for a good seat when I made the reservation, but when I got there, I was surprised to see that even though I had made a reservation, the seat had not been reserved and we were told to sit wherever we wanted. Incidentally, the seats that were available were in strong sunlight. My husband ordered the shrimp pasta and seafood risotto and an appetizer from the today's specials. Then, when I went to pay the bill, I was billed an amount that was insanely high, and I thought it must be a mistake. This is an Italian cafe, not a high-end restaurant, so I already knew what the normal price was. When I asked my husband if the price was the same as the menu price, he said that the price was not listed on the menu. The restaurant staff should have asked me about the price. I was shocked that a restaurant I had loved for many years was treating me like this, and many memories have been ruined. Waiters should clearly tell customers the price. Don't scam them.

Google
I love absolutely everything about this place. I’ve been coming here for the last 15 years and it has never disappointed me. They have a new owner now but the menu is the same and staff is the same as well. They are all extremely friendly. The ricotta cheesecake is to die for! If Juan is your server, you are in good hands!

Google
I was looking for an old school italian spot and was so happy I found this place! I got the crab and artichoke in white wine dish and tiramisu. They were both delicious. Will go back and try the more traditional dishes and I know they will be great. All portions were shareable. I took half of everything home.

Google
Amazing service... superceded only by the food. Nothing "mass produced" here ... ravioli was cleary handmade and I was able to substitute my sauce without issue. My husband and daughter also LOVED their dishes (shown in photos). What an amazing place... unassuming but very clear why they've been in business for more than 25+ years serving locals and tourists alike❤ We will definitely be back... again and again!

Google
Stopped in last night for dinner. Nice location and very quaint. First time here and overall it was very good! We shared a Greek salad and Fagioli con Pasta. The salad had a light dressing that didn't overpower the salad. The Fagiola was very good! I had Linguine del Golfo (with seafood) and it was excellant! We'll be back for more!

Danielle GruppChang

Google
A small, quaint Italian place. The food was lovely, especially the sorbet, however the decor left something to be desired. It just didn't have any kind of notice design or vibe.

J Chase

Google
If you want your pasta cooked properly, go here! If you want perfect pasta sauce that compliments the quality pasta, go here! I recommend linguine vongole and the peach sorbet for dessert. This is not a romantic ambiance, just quality food cooked with pride.

I found a place for dinner at this restaurant. Nice clean and friendly service and the food is amazing..family friendly.♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏

Yelp
Great food. The rollatini eggplant stuffed with ricotta is fantastic. everything id great. I have been eating here for years. The staff is amazing. Juan remembers what I like and how I order it.

Louisa L.

Yelp
Grabbed lunch here with a group of my coworkers earlier today. I ordered the pennette con salsiccia, which came in such a huge portion. I thought the pasta was a little too al dente, but the flavor was good. Prices are reasonable and on par with other restaurants in the area. This is a great place for larger groups, especially on weekdays!

Gerardo R.

Yelp
Food was ok, but if you're making a reservation on a holiday definitely skip this place!!! So I had reservations at 9:15pm and so did 30-40 other ppl, now mind you the restaurant only seats about 40ppl max. I got there at 9pm and other people with reservations at 8pm still had not got seated. Overall experience I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone I know, that would just be rude of me!!!

Brooke B.

Yelp
Lovely interior, staff was friendly, and I enjoyed the menu options. I was sadly underwhelmed by the flavor of the dishes my party ordered (bruschetta, prosciutto melon, pizza, pasta, and risotto). The bruschetta was actually the stand out item, being some of the best bruschetta I've had. The cookies that came with the bill were also impressionable. Overall, I would return but it was not as impressionable as I hoped.

Rita C H.

Yelp
Service was poor, food was not great, quite disappointed. Checked our party in on OpenTable and later on canceled it. Maybe so that I couldn't write a not-so-good review?!

Kayla A.

Yelp
We've Been frequenting this lovely restaurant for over 2 decades now and the food remains top notch. It's always super busy but you're taken care of well. Sweet little spot.

Zachary G.

Yelp
This place is a total hole-in-the-wall type deal where if you know, you KNOW. Inconspicuous and reserved on 3rd Street, Cafe Angelino's ambiance may not be that of your classic 5-star Italian restaurant, but man, does it deliver. I am assuming this restaurant is family-owned, as I have always seen the same staff working here, tending to us quickly and with a smile no matter how hectic. And yes, this place can get hectic, and the acoustics are not the best. That being said, the food more than makes up for it. From authentic, al dente pasta to, I kid you not, the BEST chicken piccata I've ever had, this place does it all. All at reasonable prices as well, with most entreés being $30 or under. If you're thinking about it or just passing by, just do it. Trust me.

Jess T.

Yelp
A group of 7 of us came here for a Saturday night friends dinner. We were seated quickly and the atmosphere was a cozy, hole-in-the-wall type place. Our waiter was super friendly! My friends and I were asked to move tables because a bigger party had come in, and they ended up giving us a free pizza which was thoughtful. My friends and I ordered bruschetta, ceasar salad, an array of pastas and pizzas. Shoutout to the ceasar salad, which might have been the best item of the night...unfortunately everything else was very mediocre, especially at the price point that it's at. I have had much better Italian food in LA for much cheaper (I am Italian and have lived in Italy for a year). The food was a 3/5 star (just okay), but the service was a 5/5 star, hence my 4/5 rating.

Charlotte V.

Yelp
Hi! I'm Charlotte and it's my first time on yelp.I've written 2 revJews on tripadvisor.first the man called me a baby! which was rude but there tiramisu was amazing! But there are only 2 waiters poor. They always give us cookies but not this time bye.

Phin B.

Yelp
Cafe Angelino in West Hollywood is a good deal for Italian food. The pasta made with tender slices of New York strip steak, caramelized onions is my favorite dish. I like the chicken Milanese-a breaded with potatoes and vegetables-was equally impressive: crispy on the outside and juicy inside. To accompany the meal, the restaurant provides warm, fresh bread along with excellent olive oil, setting the stage for what is to follow. To add to the touches: a set of cookies, presented complimentary with the bill, adds that nice touch to an excellent meal.

Amanda Z.

Yelp
Family style Italian restaurant. I like the cozy dining room and they also have outdoor dining area in the front of the restaurant. My seafood pasta is fresh and flavorful. My husband ordered penne with chicken sausage. He loved it!

Jaclyn B.

Yelp
The most delicious ravioli I've had in my life next to the pasta in Italy! True authentic Italian food! + the staff is amazing, can't have a bad experience here! I would go here for a chic date or for the family!

Raven B.

Yelp
Ambiance was good. A little loud but the food was good. Highly recommend the pizza as a table appetizer followed by an entree. Portion sizes are perfect.

Harut A.

Yelp
Amazing! Must try!! All types of selections if you like pasta, pizza or paninis. 5 stars!

Lawdan B.

Yelp
I just had dinner here and everything was great. I lived in Italy for a few years so I know good Italian food and. I see it. The Risotto was to die for. The Prosciutto was delicious and the pizza was awesome. .

Stanislav T.

Yelp
very tasty food ! cozy atmosphere, polite and friendly staff. I definitely recommend it. I fell in love with the restaurant

Constance C.

Yelp
It's 4 1/2 stars! Minus 1/2 star for the slightly overcooked sea bass. It's a delicate fish and I wish it wasn't so dry. Flavor was amazing and the accompanying pasta was cooked to perfection. Pappardelle with the sliced New York strip was excellent with full bodied flavor. The 24 months aged prosciutto melted in my mouth! Octopus salad is a must! Super refreshing and tender octopus! Salami on the pizza was very tasty! Lemon ricotta cheese was delicious with the perfect amount of lemon and not too sweet , unfortunately ricotta made it a little dense for me. I'd love to try the tiramisu next time. All desserts are made in house. Staff were efficient and friendly!

Carolyn K.

Yelp
I really love this place! The food is amazing, it's a cozy restaurant with authentic vibes. Love the pesto pasta and cheese pizza. Can't wait to go back. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Jon L.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over 20 years. The atmosphere is like a hole in the wall, neighborhood restaurant but that's the charm of it all. The pastas are amazing and always cooked perfectly. This is the place to come if you want great food.

Kevin A.

Yelp
Very adorable yet simple restaurant that's been around for decades serving some of the tastiest and most authentic Italian foods and pastas, I'm glad it's survived the pandemic. I always start with the shaved artichoke heart salad with fresh parmesan... deliciously crunchy baby artichoke, mandolin shaved, paired with the best real park and dressed lightly in lemon and olive oil-- I don't know their secrets here but I wish other restaurants could figure it outZ it's the best I've ever had. Chef's Special Paparadelle with Steak is a hearty dish, the meat perfectly cooked and it all being soft and delicious... highly recommended. Loved the Pana Cotta with Raspberry Couilis... silky and weighty pana cotta is refreshing as a dessert ending here. This is a moderately priced no frills boutique Italian restaurant that, nonetheless, serves up excellent and authentic tasting and feeling dishes. T

Yelp
Really quaint classic Italian cafe. Pasta was delicious, Tiramisu was homemade, Servers were friendly. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. It is a small restaurant gives an intimate ambience. Metered parking available all over. This is where they shot Breakfast at Tiffany's. Very near LACMA- great for dinner after museum or lunch before visiting the museum. Can't wait to visit again!

Lee G.

Yelp
The service was decent and the waiters were very kind and attentive, but the food was painfully mediocre, and the ambiance was cramped, loud, and uncomfortable. Also the prices are way too high compared to the quality and execution of the dishes. Ordered calamari pasta which tasted extremely bland. Tomato sauce lacked flavor, the calamari was tough, fishy, and basically unseasoned. Even the $14 glass of wine was flavorless. My partner's pasta was a bit better, but imo, was still not up to par for the price point. The total bill for one bad and one passible plate of seafood pasta paired with one glass of mediocre wine was $100. Coming from an Italian family, I'm very familiar with good Italian cooking and how certain dishes should taste; this unfortunately fell disappointingly short. I have no idea how this place has so many positive reviews, as this is was some of the worst Italian food I've ever had. A lot of people must not know what real, well prepared Italian cuisine is supposed to taste like. There are a lot of other Italian restaurants in town that are way better for a fraction of the price. 2 stars because of the kind host / waiter and because the food was edible. Will not be coming back. Ambiance: 2.5/5 Food: 2/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 1/5

Sonam M.

Yelp
Ambiance: There is nice outdoor seating though it can get a bit crowded with big groups. If it's not too hot outside, it's wonderful to sit outside and people watch. Taste test: I split the pizza with my college. The pizza was good though the flavor wasn't anything too special. Maybe I should have asked jalapeños on the side.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem - One of the best Italian restaurants in LA, and possibly my favorite of them all. Delicious food, good portions, calm unfussy ambiance, and incredibly kind service. This is such a rare treasure of an Italian place where the quality and service speak for themselves - no gimmicks, it's not "scene-y", it's just incredible food at a fair (LA) price. And the porcini mushroom pasta always has me desperate to for more. For anyone who is sick of Italian restaurants in LA that charge $30 for a tiny plate of food, this place is such a breath of fresh air. They even give you bread with the meal, which I feel like used to be a staple, but so few places do anymore! Caesar salad - perfection. The dressing is a real classic Caesar made with anchovies (I know that's not for everyone but I personally love) and it's just simple with lettuce, parm, and croutons. When I'm craving a classic Caesar, this is what I want. Pennette with porcini - also perfection. It comes in a tomato sauce with porcini mushrooms and it's so delicious, everyone I've had it with is always ready to order more or go back and get it again. Penne siciliano - so good The eggplant is cooked so well and the dried ricotta on top adds such a good flavor. (At some other places, I almost feel like the dried ricotta doesn't taste like much.) I've tried a lot of other dishes here and all have been delicious - it's an extensive menu so it really just depends on what you're craving. They also have a LOT of vegetarian options, which I so appreciate. This is a great place for vegetarians who are sometimes limited at Italian places. They go far beyond a simple pomodoro. Service - they have been so kind and generous every time I've been there, both for dine in and take out. There's a warmth that you don't always see at other places. It really feels like a family place. Love love love!

Michelle R.

Yelp
Came in with a reservation and the wait time for food was over an hour. The food was delicious so the wait time would have not been an issue, what was an issue was the fact that parties that showed up 20-30 MINUTES AFTER US got served before us. The waiter did not write our long order down so mistakes were expected. At this point we were too frustrated and hungry to even bring up the issues. We just ate our meals and left.

Kevin P.

Yelp
Long overdue review. Delicious old school Italian cafe. One of my favorite place to come for lunch. Cafe Angelino has been operating for twenty plus years. You know they're doing something right to be open for that long. Here are some of my favorite pasta dishes to order. Spaghetti Del Golfo Spaghetti Alle Vongole Spaghetti Con Carciofi and Granchio Linguine Con Branzino Tagliatelle El Pesto Their pasta dishes are always consistent and flavorful. Service has always been great and friendly. Never had a problem. If you're looking for a great delicious home Italian cooking. I recommend giving Cafe Angelino a try. Continue supporting these mom and pops restaurant.

Donna T.

Yelp
Great place. Good food and staff really nice. Small though do not a good place for romance. Great for take out. Jyan does a great job! They don't know how to use delivery services. I just had a terrible experience trying to get a pizza delivered. The robot was going to bring it. I canceled the order and drove over. I got an ice cold pizza and charge $38 twice which included $14 tip!! I delivered it to myself. Very disappointing

Peter S.

Yelp
We brought some Italian friends here while they were in town. We all enjoyed our meals. The service was a bit off, but not bad. We enjoyed the Caesar Salad and Octopus Salad; My wife enjoyed her Risotto and I loved my Farfalle Angelina. The ambiance was great. Easy to talk and it's a relatively small restaurant so if we needed something they were always pretty close by. Everybody enjoyed their meal.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
I have been a customer for 25+ years. I come here with my family on a regular basis. The food has always been amazing and consistent. I came today to order my favorite dish - chicken sausage penne pasta. When it came it looked different, after 1 bite it did not taste like the dish I love. I was assured it was the chicken penne pasta I always order. I said it's spicy and the chicken sausage tastes off and the server who I've known for years said oh, really okay lemme fix it - mind you I can't eat spicy food. This exchange was really odd. When the dish came back, it still didn't look right - I took a bite and the server came back to me and saw my face. I said this dish isn't right, again. I was told they ran out of all the ingredients, um, WHAT?! So why in the world would you serve me a dish when you didn't have the right ingredients....twice! Not only was this a waste of my time sitting there and waiting for the new dish to be prepared - I was LIED TO! This is how you treat long time customers? I am really baffled by my experience. Is this new ownership at its worst? Well, Cafe Angelino you have lost my business and the few bites of food I had gave me a stomach ache - it was truly disgusting - shame on you.

Remy H.

Yelp
Amazing local Italian spot! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. SO many delicious dishes - such a great variety of all types pastas (I especially love the variety of seafood pastas). The Spaghetti del Golfo was perfect. Looking forward to coming back soon!!

Nadia L.

Yelp
We arrived at around 6:30 on a Thursday and there were only a few parties in the restaurant. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. The servers were attentive and friendly. This was a relatively small restaurant. There was both indoor and outdoor seating with Italian music playing inside. We ordered Cacio e Pepe and Linguine Alle Vongole. They provided complimentary bread and butter before our meal. Our food came out pretty quickly. Cacio e Pepe: 4.5/5 It was delicious. It was cheesy but not too overpowering. Simple but tasty. Linguine Alle Vongole: 4.8/5 The clams were fresh and delicious. It was a very well balanced dish. They offered two complimentary cookies as we paid the bill. * I actually accidentally left my credit card after paying. Our server ran out after me, calling my name to return my card. He was still so nice and friendly about it. Shoutout to him:) Friendly attentive servers, delicious food, 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
Cafe angelino was our favorite neighborhood place to eat for many years until last night, which was a total disappointment, and sadly, last time to be there We were a party of five . Ordered a bunch of appetizers, pizza, and a few pasta dishes. In one of the pastas , there was ham, which we didn't realize. On the menu in Italian, it sounded like some kind of cheese. We asked to replace it. Then a guy comes out ( later we found out he was the new owner) and asks, "What's the problem?" We explained that we don't eat ham. His reaction was: I can take out the ham. Our response was: no, it's creamy sauce it can't be fixed. His reaction was: so what do you want me to do with it? We were shocked. Clearly, asking this question shows that he has no idea how to run a restaurant. In addition, all the pasta dishes were dry. Service was poor.  Something definitely changed with the new ownership and probably the chef. The pasta with the ham was included in the bill, but we insisted not to pay. Such a disappointment. The only nice guy was Juan, who has been there for years.

Avery S.

Yelp
I visited Cafe Angelino today for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! The staff and owner Carlos are always so nice and welcoming. Today I got the Greek salad and it was so refreshing and vibrant. The music and atmosphere feels so homey I love it! A must visit

Safia S.

Yelp
Grabbed takeout from here last night. The ambiance is cute old school American Italian no frills. Outdoor seating has an area with fairy lights that looks cute. We got the chicken and peas risotto which is a generous portion but was cooked a little too al dente for my tastes, I realize this could be personal preference. The asparagus pasta that we got was essentially creamy pasta sauce with uninspiring pasta that had a few shaves of fresh asparagus. Both dishes were lacking in flavor. This place would do in a pinch if you are tired and hungry craving some sort of Italianish....

Carlos V.

Yelp
Very classic Italian food Bolo was the best tiramisu very nice Service was top ambiance was nice

Elisabeth S.

Yelp
Casual cozy atmosphere. The patio is so inviting. The melt in your mouth authentic Italian cuisine is prepared with the freshest ingredients. Cafe Angeleno boasts an eclectic menu with savoury faves like eggplant Parmesan, margherita pizza, fresh fish, pasta.. the works. Perfect for dining with a group of friends or with that special someone. This hidden gem is a win every time! The owners of the restaurant are hospitable, and so courteous . Great food -nice ambiance and supporting local small business. 10/10

Dennis M.

Yelp
We just went eat at Cafe Angelino and was refused service because I have a medical Alert service dog. We explained he is a medical alert service dog, and refusing service violates federal ADA law Asked for his name and manager's name and would not give his name. He then gave me a manager Antiano. No your wrong, I asked nicely for your name and number they refused until we insisted. You can not deny us to sit inside with medical alert service dogs. Your refusal violates federal law. I will be going further to file complaints with Los Angeles and the State of California so no one has to deal with this issue from your establishment. It is easy for you to try and blame the person with a disability. Offering us to sit outside instead of indoors is a clear violation ADA federal laws. I hope everyone with a disability or knows someone with a disability will decide not to eat a your place because you clearly discriminated as person with disability!! PLEASE DO NOT EAT AT Cafe Angelino, Since he finds it ok to discriminate then who will he discriminate next???? PLEASE STAND WITH ME AGAINST DISCRIMINATION!!

Jan L.

Yelp
Best pasta I have ever eaten in my life, no wonder this place has been open 24 years. EXCELLENT!!!

Jessica W.

Yelp
Quiet and unassuming, but INCREDIBLE! Transports you to old-world Italy. Do not let the simple decor fool you, this place is the real-deal. Homemade and fresh food galore, generous portions, and reasonably priced for a family. We came here with our sons because it was close to our AirBnb, and we're so glad we did. Fresh and warm Italian bread served was delicious alongside a Caesar salad to start (homemade dressing!) We each has a different entree: pepperoni pizza, pollo Marsala, penne asparagi & scampi, penne de Siciliana. The finale was a crème brûlée, crostada di ricotta, torta Al cioccolato, and some decaf afogados. We've only been to LA twice, but this will be a place we return every time we're here from now on!!!

Joe L.

Yelp
My buddy and I were waiting for our show to start at the Comedy Store and we stumbled upon this nice little place of heaven. We were greeted and seated right away. Food was amazing and staff was super nice. Pizza was fresh and tasty and not heavy on the stomach. Definitely coming back!

Noelle B.

Yelp
This is really great, mom & pop home cooking style food, that's been there for many, many years and has not changed, and great service too! Love this place!

Ann B.

Yelp
My dining companion said she was in the mood for Italian. Not our usual, so I yelped local spots. This place got good- not great- reviews so we thought we'd give it a try Started with a Caesar salad. It was classic and just fine. We ordered the linguine con vongole. I could smell the clams as the plate was presented. They did not smell good. After one bite we decided to order a pizza instead. Besides the funky clams, the linguine was pretty tasteless. Margarita pizza was fine. The first dish was removed from the bill with no questions asked. I appreciate that. I do not appreciate when we asked the server what the specialty of the house is and he says "everything ". Really?

90046 D.

Yelp
Great, old school spot with generous amounts of delicious pasta and a full menu of italian options. Can't believe this was my first time!

Stephen P.

Yelp
My favorite secret place! Great Food and Great Service!!! Heirloom Tomato's w/ Burrata - over the top. Love this place

Stephen S.

Yelp
The Greek Salad was nice, and the service was neat. But I should've trusted my instinct when we asked for their specialty and they didn't mention Pasta. The tomato sauce they put on my Ravioli tasted like the ones you spread on a pizza, and one roasted garlic isn't enough to call it spicy.

Hasti M.

Yelp
Incredible service and delicious food. Cute and intimate atmosphere. Best Prosciutto we've ever had

Alex S.

Yelp
The best Cesar salad in town. My neighbors bring me one home every time they order from here. I never say no.

Anthony J.

Yelp
A small restaurant with big flavors. The employees are very friendly and help to provide an enjoyable experience. Everything we tried was delicious and had its own unique flavors. The chicken dish came with a surprising amount of chicken which was a great and worth the price. For a classic, Italian pasta, I suggest trying the rigatoni with meat sauce Great food, great service, definitely worth a visit.

Alexandra G.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot I passed by many times before becoming a regular. I feel like I'm back in Italy. Wonderful service always and the food is wonderful. I would recommend any seafood here. This is not American Italian, it's Italian so expect all those flavors here. Beautiful setup even thought it's on busy third street. Simple but classy and would definitely recommend
