Cafe Argento

Expresso is delicious along with the food, but the real treat here is the people who make the tastey java drinks and serve. It's the perfect combination of a relaxed upscale setting with some lovely antiques and extraordinary service from a very cool, caring staff that really makes Cafe Argento shine! It's one of my favorite tucked-away gems in Seattle.

Probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had - and at such a reasonable price. Ordered the turkey breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. It was scrumptious. Loaded with egg, turkey, cream cheese and their hot sauce! Incredible. The service is super friendly and welcoming. The inside seating is limited compared to how busy it gets but it’s very cozy and cute inside. There’s a spotless spacious bathroom as well.

A real hidden gem and my favorite Capitol Hill third place! No-frills breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and pastries. Be sure to try a samosa or their house made chai. This place is cozy, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the prices are exceptionally affordable for the neighborhood. You won’t find fancy, but you don’t always need fancy!

I visited this cozy spot for Sunday brunch after reading great reviews, and it didn’t disappoint! Tucked away from the noisy downtown, the staff greeted me warmly and recommended the vegetarian breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel with an iced latte. I forgot to mention I don’t eat eggs, and when I realized the sandwich had eggs, the kind staff quickly made me a new one without them—free of charge. I insisted on paying for the second bagel, but they kindly refused. The latte was perfect, and the sandwich was delicious and filling, loaded with cheese and veggies. The ambience was peaceful, with people reading and knitting—such a warm, happy vibe. I really appreciated the excellent service and genuine kindness.

i thoroughly enjoyed my iced latte (not pictured) & breakfast bagel sandwich! It was buttery, hot, & yummy to the very last bite! all the staff were working so incredibly hard and quickly. i highly recommend if you need a quick delicious meal, a nice beverage, or a cute spot to work or hang out in!

Favorite breakfast sandwich in Capitol Hill. Get the veggie with hot sauce, it will change your life. The staff are truly amazing (and really good at what they do). 10/10

Café Argento on Capitol Hill is a nostalgic, soothing retreat with seriously bomb coffee. The vibe is warm and comforting—like stepping into a cherished memory. The owner is calm, professional, and incredibly friendly, and his staff reflects the same gracious energy. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer, sip a little slower, and come back often. Highly recommend!

Spicy turkey brekkie Sammie had the craziest crunch out of any munch I’ve had in Seattle. The gloomy overcast gave way to sunshine & rainbows after each flash of egg and sesame made their way into my soul. And the coffee?! Glorious taste and value. You will get your daily dose of the world’s most beloved addiction. Please, make your way one block past cal anderson park to dine within this opulent funky cafe Argentino.

This place has my favorite bagel order in Seattle. If you come here you have to try an everything bagel toasted with garlic olive oil. It's nice and crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The garlic olive oil is really what makes this stand out though. Soooo good. The cafe is a really cute spot in cap hill. The interior is small, but cozy. The employees here are also friendly and I always get my order super quick!

I came here to spend a blissful hour alone on a rainy day. I was a bit peckish, so I got a samosa and a vegan hot chocolate. I like that I was able to get an eat-in mug, which makes for a nicer experience than a paper cup. Since I mention a particular temperature I want my drink, my hot chocolate came out actually hot, which was great. The samosa came with sriracha and olive oil with what I believe was garlic. It was two interesting choices for dipping the samosa, which made the overall experience much better than it would have been plain. The samosa was mildly flavored and much more bread-like than pastry-like. Overall it was just okay, but the portion size was generous and the ambiance was great. It is really cute inside which lovely light from the large windows. The toilets available to customers were clean, and the staff was friendly and efficient.

There are so many indie cafes and coffeehouses in the greater Seattle area, no surprise it took me 20 years to checkout Cafe Argento on Capitol Hill. Open since 2004! I finally had a pleasant onsite visit on 2/19/24. Found nearby free street parking - a score while on Capitol Hill! Very welcoming barista who crafted one of the best mochas I've had in awhile. Adding to this fantastic visit was having a memorable chocolate chip cookie from the pastry case. I hung out awhile and took in the overall vibe. I liked the unique interior and variety of seating. Lots of details and fixtures that were eye catching. Decent music playing. The kindness and customer service I also observed from this barista assisting a blind customer - can we give this barista ten stars for going above and beyond? Definitely highly recommended! Just don't take 20 years to visit, lol.

Very cute vibes but the food is not that great. A lot of the pastries looked pre made. For what they are they are a bit expensive. They do give out free samples of soup prior to making a decision. I got the bagel with cream cheese and olive oil and it was a squishy bagel and the olive oil didn't seem to add much. Most likely wouldn't go again - there are far better coffee shops with better pastries in cap hill.

Best breakfast sandwich in Seattle! I got the turkey breakfast sandwich on sesame bagel and it was amazing! Looking back at photos, they forgot to add red peppers in my sandwich as stated on the menu, but I hardly noticed as I was enjoying it at the park next door. I wish they sold their homemade garlic olive oil because I would definitely buy it! Coffee was ok, but the star is the breakfast bagel sandwich!

The turkey bagel sandwich here is unreal. Comes out piping hot, cheesy and super delicious. The bagel is crispy but not burnt. Excellent service and cute interior with lots of character. The coffee could be better. It's not the best but decent. I got iced latte with oat milk. The coffee is a tiny bit sour. Yes I'll come back again and again for those legendary bagel sandwiches!

Bagels are my favorite breakfast food, and maybe I'm a little biased, but I love the bagel sandwiches they have here. I've tried to recreate it at home and it just doesn't taste the same. The flavors are immaculate. Such a bang for your buck too. I have only come back for this bagel sandwich and I will continue to return again for the bagel sandwich. Pro tip: add the hot sauce when they offer it on your sandwich. Changes the game. The vibes and service here are great as well. Whenever I come in, I feel like I'm greeted as though I'm an old friend when really it's the first time I've seen any of these people. But it's the fact that they make it so inviting and good energy (as we all know) goes a long way. Definitely work checking out if you're in the cap hill area!

My partner and I stopped in here to grab a breakfast sandwich and I'm SO glad we chose this place! The sandwich was huge and tasted SO good! Wow, what a diversion from Starbucks. We will definitely be back. Their decor is amazing, too. See attached pics. If you're into dark and spooky vibes (but still pretty), give this place a try!

Great food (samosas, filled with warm spices and potatoes) good coffee (I had a flat white), customer service friendly over all a great environment to come and hang out in they have tables and Wifi. Also this is right around the corn from Liana so if you have an appointment there come here first for a coffee it's an all around win win situation.

This is a quiet yet busy neighborhood cafe with a cute vibe. They have a small kitchen and crank out upleveled grocery style sandwiches (ie they stock store-bought bread, pastries, muffins, bagels and dress them up for your convenience :) The breakfast bagel sandwich was yummy. Eggs were soft and the zucchini inside was an interesting twist. I can see why this one would be popular if you live nearby and if you come here for food, you should get this. I would pass on the lunch turkey sandwich though. It was just ok. One small hiccup: they forgot to add turkey to our breakfast sandwich even after confirming the order three times, and saying turkey breakfast sandwich when calling our order. When we asked if the order was correct they microwaved a small plate of turkey for us to put into the sandwich ourselves. I would have expected them to take it into the kitchen and assemble it, at the least. I can slip turkey into my own sandwiches at home lol, but I'm paying for the convenience of not having to... overall a decent breakfast. A-OK!

This is my first visit to a Seattle coffee shop, and I'm glad that I landed here on a Friday morning walk! Not only was the sandwich toasted to perfection, but the staff were so friendly. The corner shop exudes a cozy yet classy ambiance with beautiful chandeliers and soft jazz playing while you enjoy your spread. I am eager to come back!

This place is really nice. It's got a great atmosphere plus the coffee is excellent. It's also affordable, unlike many of the other little coffee shops around town. The people that work here are friendly and welcoming. I think I have found my favorite coffee spot!

The ambience here is so cool. The vibes are great and so are the staff. For the sandwich you pick veggie (5.95) or deli meat Turkey (7.95) and then you chose whichever of the bagels you want that they have. You get Mayo and cheese and sriracha optional. The eggs I believe are microwaved but honestly they taste perfectly fine. Just a couple blocks from Seattle U and a true gem.

Amazing bagel sandwich. I had the veggie sandwich and it was delicious. Can't recommend enough. Some tables but it could get busy and you might have to sit on the steps outside. Also quick service even with a line & cheap! LGBTQ+ friendly.

FOOD/DRINK: They make a fantastic breakfast sandwich, with vegetarian and turkey options on a variety of bagel options (I recommend cheddar). The eggs are fluffy, hot, taste fresh and have chopped red peppers and zucchini sprinkled in, and the homemade garlic olive oil and cream cheese is the perfect amount. Hot sauce is optional. The food comes out quickly, and it's a bargain compared to other breakfast options out there ($5.95). A simple meal, and they don't have a huge variety (a few pastries like doughnuts / muffins, two lunch sandwiches, and a breakfast samosa to complete the menu), but what they do make, they make quite well. With respect to coffee, I found it really tasty (Mocha with 2% milk, very smooth). AMBIENCE: A cute, smaller, tranquil, cozy cafe. More casual, nothing fancy nor fussy. About 4-5 tables (including a door with stained glass window turned into a table, which is genius), ranging from 2-4 seats. SERVICE: This was excellent. My mom and I were tourists, and they were so friendly and helpful with going through the menu. They even remembered our order the next day, and we saw them having full on conversations with a few regulars. If I were a local, it'd be the sort of coffee shop I'd want to frequent due to that personalized touch, it's a sweet thing to see!

I came here on a Sunday morning to work and enjoy a latte & bagel! I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and an iced chai oat latte. The bagel was toasted perfectly and had a perfect amount of cream cheese (I usually dislike too much cream cheese). However, my drink was watered down and the wifi was a bit slow! Nonetheless, there was plenty of seating for group meetings or sitting alone! The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. The bathrooms were clean too. My favorite part was the chill, ambient music playing. I usually can't stand when cafes play loud pop music.

Super cute coffee shop! Some of the friendliest baristas I've ever had and there were so many regulars that came through for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I bought some bagels to go but they have $6 vegetarian breakfast sandwiches, among other breakfast options. Coffee was pretty good. There is a good amount of table space and free wifi. I do wish there was a bike rack out front.

I ordered a dirty hot chai with oat milk and it was not good. Tasted like they added drip coffee mixed with minimal chai concentrate. The veggie bagel was good! However, the way they cook their food was questionable. 2 microwaves and your home toaster on display. It was smokey in there and the ambiance was meh. I had to idle awkwardly while they prepped my drink. They'll hand it to you THEN you order your food and pay. Service was decent. Really wanted to like it given the reviews but likely won't be returning.

The moment you step into the cozy cafe, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the warm smiles of the staff. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxing brunch with friends/family or study date. And the breakfast sandwich is made with the freshest ingredients and toasted to perfection. Such a hidden gem in Cap Hill, would definitely recommend for everyone to try!

Lovely small cafe with an excellent atmosphere for a cozy breakfast or lunch. The menu provides good options without being overwhelming. The coffee was fantastic and I look forward to visiting again.

This place is my favorite cafe. with an amazing selection of foods and drinks and lots of vegan accommodations. The food here is made with care and delicious. The costumer service is amazing as well. staff is extremely welcoming and even strive to learn your names and orders. it is a beautiful little cafe with nice seating and intriguing decor, a great space to get work done or talk with friends etc. i really recommend this place!

This place is a favorite of mine. The staff and owner are super welcoming and greet customers by name. They go out of their way to create a welcoming environment while serving amazing drinks and food!

I never leave reviews but this place genuinely deserves the praise. Far and away the best cafe service I've run into in Seattle - a city whose baristas seem to pride themselves on enmity and apathy for customers. Charming though it may be to have a mulleted 20-something glare at me for existing, my inner SI worker will always appreciate the kind of casual warmth that this place exudes. Good stuff. Did I mention the fucking breakfast sando was incredible AND a bargain?

This is such a great place. The coffee and food are both good, but it's the people that make it great. I like that it has its own aesthetic even when so many nearby places feel so cookie cutter to me. They are also really kind about well behaved dogs - this is our favorite quick stop spot on the way to the park! Long story short, this a real spot with real people and I love it!

I was staying at an AirBnb nearby and I needed to grab something to bring on the plane with me. I knew I'd like the food but the service blew my mind. The baristas were super nice & efficient, and the decor is adorable (they also have dog treats if you walk in with your puppy!)

The best staff ever. Super friendly and they put effort in remembering your name and your drink. Espresso drinks are solid, their loaded bagel is a favorite if mine, and they have these samosa pastries that are super tasty too.

Such a quaint cafe. Visited it for the firat time this morning and received a very warm welcome. Placing my order was so quick and easy and I loved that they asked if I wanted hot sauce with my breakfast sandwhich. Wish more places would ask me that! Enjoyed my veggie breakfast sandwhich and chai tea. The tasty food coupled with the delightful ambience makes Cafe Argento my new favorite cafe to frequent.

This place is a cute, eclectic little spot on the corner near cal anderson which is a very convenient location! I've both taken my drinks to go enjoy in the park on sunny days and dined in on rainy days! I always get a dirty chai and it's phenomenal!! There pastries are very delicious as well. The only downside to this place is it has a bit of an interesting smell...it's smell like an old lady, very grandma's house musty type of smell. However, it's not super pungent and you go nose blind to it rather quickly after being in there.

Who would have thought simplicity would taste so good. This morning gem has the best bagel concoction ever that's solely made in house. Personally speaking, I love the cheddar jalapeño bagel...loaded. 12/10 for the homemade garlic infused Olive oil (literally a secret weapon). Then onto the mountain of cheddar and a generous smear of cream cheese deliciousness. Not even a New York bagel has dibs on this (sorry not sorry) 100% Love this place, if not for the food alone (encore please), the friendly service and cozy atmosphere (door turned into table is a showstopper)

WOAH. Soooooo good. The cafe has a nice atmosphere, the staff was super friendly, great service, very quick. The food... omg.... Sooooo delicious. We got the breakfast sandwiches (one veggie, one turkey), a chocolate chip cookie, a brownie, a latte, and a Chai. Everything was delicious. I'm going to be going back there a lot! New top fave.

I came here for the first time yesterday with a girl friend! I heard their breakfast sandwiches are the BEST here! They weren't wrong! Veggie or (Turkey add on is additional), cheese, scrambled eggs and (hot sauce is additional if you'd like it!) the bagel choices are jalepeno/cheddar, everything or sesame! Hot and tasty, they were delish! Small cafe, orange decor and very nice chandeliers! The baristas were maybe from India? Very nice people :)

I came to Cafe Argento for a coffee meeting and enjoyed my time here. Located on Capitol Hill on the corner of 12th and Olive, it's easy to find and though the space isn't large, it has a welcoming space, inviting you to stay awhile. I ordered a drip and a samosa, which were both good. Cafe Argento uses coffee from the Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie, which was solid and strong, just what anyone needs with a drip. The samosa was something I ordered for breakfast. It's in the pastry case at the counter and they heat it up for you before delivering it to your table. The samosa had a side of light cheese, which tasted like feta, with a spicy sauce and truffle olive oil for dipping. I enjoyed the samosa, which was filled with curried potatoes and the sides of sauces and cheese went well with it. It's certainly more unique than your average pastry with coffee; therefore, it is worth a try if you're at Cafe Argento! I loved how many frequent customers there were during my visit, as the owner seemed to know each and every one of them, including the person I was meeting. There's a lot to be said for a neighborhood cafe that you can count on, and Cafe Argento speaks to that. For anyone in the area, needing coffee and a snack, I recommend Cafe Argento for just that and top-notch customer service.

This breakfast bagel sandwich was off the charts delicious. I think it's the well-thought out details - the garlic oil, the veggies, the flavorful eggs and cream cheese ON THE SANDWICH. I tried 3 places in one morning and this was my favorite! Thank you.

Awesome little spot with GREAT coffee! Even opens early enough to actually be beneficial to someone that works night shift. The breakfast sandwich bagels were absolutely delicious too. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, very polite and considerate. Will most definitely be going back!!!

Their soups are always delicious as are the samosas! Service is the best and pricing is very fair and on the cheaper side for cafes in the area! Always say yes to the garlic olive oil.

Love this place! I've been quite a few times, which really says something cause I generally never hit up the same place more than a few times. Fair prices, good food, decent wifi, good background music/noise, clean bathrooms. I LOVE the breakfast sandwich. It's great bang for your buck. I usually will get the turkey option on a jalapeño bagel. I've introduced this to a bunch of friends so it comes highly recommended. I tried their samosa today... It tasted good (a wee bit spicy for me) but I'd rather go to an Indian place for future samosas. I also had an almond poppy seed muffin - it was nice and fluffy. Overall, highly recommend. Great place to do some work because it's not one of those super crowded cafes you walk in to see if there's space and then walk right back out. I'd honestly call this place a gem. Though it runs a bit cold so bring a sweater!

Awesome little cafe! Perfect location from my Airbnb. I stopped here almost every morning of my business trip. I had their egg breakfast sammie twice- it was simple yet delicious. I tried 3 different coffee drinks- iced soy latte, iced chai and regular hot latte. They were all great & well priced. I also had a bagel and cream cheese the last day of my trip and there was a generous amount of cream cheese, which I appreciated! The cafe workers were kind and pleasant. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and welcoming. There was plenty of seating each time i went. I will definitely stop back again next time I'm in Seattle!
