It’s been amazing to see this business grow. I am excited to see what’s next. The loyal following that they have amassed is absolutely brilliant. I honestly don’t have the patience to wait in line for an hour. I only stop if there is no line. The pastries I have tried have all been amazing. Honestly coming here is pure indulgence. This is an impulse buy. I am not going to ever order in advance. That’s just me. I like rolling the dice and seeing what they have left when I show up. I’d love to see them improve the ambiance, be open more than three days a week, provide a place for customers to sit… make it feel like a real cafe. Or maybe not… I guess they have all of us trained that this is the way it is going to be if you want these coveted pastries. Maybe they don’t have to change a thing. My advice would be to order ahead if you don’t want to wait in the long line.

Google
The is a place to experience. It definitely feels like a mom and pop shop...which it is. Ordering ahead was recommended in the many reviews we read, but we didn't do that. We waited in-line and enjoyed the anticipation with the rest of the friendly customers. We bought way too much. The pastries were beautiful and large. My wife said the croissants are the real deal. The cheese scone was actually both of our favorites. I was a little disappointed by the sweet ones, but seems like that is just personal preference or maybe just because the hype was so high. Most items were croissant based. I think I just prefer ooey-gooey to flaky and crispy. If you like flaky and crispy this is THE place. The flavors were all very good.

Google
Everything about this place screams passion and hard work. The pink boxes are iconic and I can confidently say that Cafe Babette is going to be an institution for Indy food!! I recommend for any first timers to Babette. Make the line and get there early. Watching the bakers describe every item they've made is an experience like no other.

Google
Came in from out of town and my friend recommended this place. By far the best pastries I’ve had, and I typically don’t like croissants.

Catalina Altomonte

Google
Easily the best pastries in Indy. Recommend to line up before they open and mentally prepare for an hour in line! Worth every penny - every single pastry is so complex and well-crafted.

Anye Tiara

Google
I think about these pastries frequently. I really enjoyed the chive and potato quiche and the cheddar scone. They also make incredible dill each sauce. I can’t wait to go and try it again.

Google
great variety of amazing flavors! worth the drive! follow their social media accounts for updated menu and operating hours

Google
You seriously can’t go wrong with anything here. Everything is so delicious and the flavors are so fun! With that said, you HAVE to get the brown butter croissant cinnamon roll. It is out of this world! The sizes are so generous also so worth the money.

Yelp
This place is my go-to for an indulgent Saturday morning and mandatory when I have out of town guests. Highly recommend the cretzel, pavlova cupcake, and honestly most things on the menu but the real surprise for me was the strawberry mochi bun. I didn't even want to order this because it sounded just wrong, but now it's my regular order. The chewy mochi and crunchy pastry is next level. My only complaint would be the size of the pastries. They are absolutely enormous. I would pay the same price for 33% LESS pastry. I know others said they were expensive, but they are on par with other bakeries in the area (like Amelia's). You can find a cheaper pastry, but it will not taste even half as good as this.

Yelp
I've had Cafe Babette saved for a while, but saw a picture of the banoffee croissant and that was all the inspiration I needed to put in my pre-order for the upcoming Saturday. When I pulled up there was probably already 30 people in line before they opened. But, they came out and separated the lines into pre-orders and the regular line. For pre-orders, we just went inside right away to pick up the boxes. Since the line moved more quickly than I expected, I was actually there about 15 minutes before my pre-order time. I just told them my name and they put it together in the back real quick. You can tell they are used to having a line since they had it under control and everything moved efficiently. I am so glad I pre-ordered. I peeked at the pastries out for sale and they all looked so pretty. I already always have a hard time deciding what to order, I'd still be there trying to pick. The pastries are almost comically large. I actually laughed out loud when I opened the box. I ordered 5 of them so I could try a little bit of everything, but it was more pastry than I could handle. I went for the banoffee croissant and that was good, but my favorites were actually the carrot cake cupcake and the earl grey monkey bread. I read on Instagram that the carrot cake is soaked in a pineapple syrup and I think that's the secret. Unpopular opinion - I don't like pineapple in my carrot cake but it's almost always in there. This had the flavor of pineapple without the huge chunks and it was so good. Plus, I could just eat the brown butter frosting by itself.

Yelp
Before Cafe Babette was located off Shelby Street, they made the pastries out of their house in Franklin. You could pick a time and pick them up there. My favorite pastry was a creme brûlée cronut. Fast forward a couple of years and they have a shop within walking distance of Garfield Park. They have pre orders and walk ins lines outside. I wish they had menus of what they had made for the day for people waiting in line to look at to maybe know what they would want before they get inside. We looked on the menu this morning and couldn't find any of the pastries. Maybe some little signs in front of the pastries once you get inside also. Maybe even a tv with a menu on it. They have such pretty pastries that are works of art. I've had the strawberry cream and coffee cream croissants and both were so light and delicious. The croissants are flaky. They have savory and sweet items to choose from. Ham and cheese croissants, Matilda cake, and great soft pretzels with a garlicky ranch dip. That did would be great with veggies and so much more. It's so good!! The browned butter sheet cake slice I got I think is my favorite. Very simple but has great flavor. The owners are very nice and they have a good following as they have a line out the door before it opens. It's hard to choose what to get because they have a lot and it all looks delicious.

Yelp
The place to get pastries when you wand to impress someone. I can't even begin to describe how delicious ALL of the desserts are. I've never waited in line actually but the preorder situation is always really smooth. Highly recommend these decedent and delicious pastries!

Yelp
I haven't eaten my pastry yet, I may update my review later to include an update review of the food. It's stunning inside! I was immediately inundated with beautiful smells and the most incredible pastries I've seen! They sell the cutest merch! All of the folks were too cute and so helpful! Plus, they have a good story!

Yelp
My notes for this place read: "expensive, worth it" The pastries here may be on the pricier side, but it's hard to get pastries this good outside of France! Additionally, most of these things are as big as your head, or bigger! My only criticism is that ordering is pretty stressful since it's hard to know what everything is called or what everything is! There is just a remarkable amount of diversity in the pastries offered here, just the sights and sounds are an experience all of their own!

Yelp
I preordered pastries from here for my friend's bachelorette. They were a huge hit! They were ready exactly on time, pick up was easy, and the pastries were beautiful. All of the flavor combinations of the pastries were so fun and unique. Will definitely be ordering again soon!

Yelp
I've been a Cafe Babette fan since day one! I've ordered from their house, pick up boxes at Tube Space, and of course their permanent location on Shelby St. When people hear I order Cafe Babette, they always ask what I get and then my first recommendation is to order less than you think because the pastries are HUGE! Second, is always preorder unless you like waiting in a huge line. The banoffe croissant with the Thai tea carmel has my heart! I had it over a year ago and they recently brought it back and now I've had it 3 weekends in a row ...help! The cardamom twist is also a staple. I dislike matcha except in a pastry and theirs is exceptional. You can't go wrong!

Yelp
It was ok. Something about their sugar that I don't really like, or either the icing. But overall great experience. The size is definitely big. It was a long line so there might be a line.

Yelp
Café Babette was ok for me. I don't know what I did. I think I didn't make good choices compared to the raving reviews I saw. I heard it was a pop up shop, but wasn't expecting the desserts to be out on tables out in the open. Just my preference/opinion. I also would've appreciated some parchment paper to separate my items in my box. I ordered the peppermint filled croissant muffin. I think I would've liked another flavor. The peppermint wasn't doing it for me. I did enjoy the lemon cake. The coffee cake was a little dense for me. And not very flavorful. The croissant bagel was also just OK. Guess I'll have to go back and try some other treats.

Yelp
This place has incredible fresh made to order pastries. The selections are incredible. You really need to pre order so you can skip the line and wait. When you pre order you can set time you want to pick up, you get to skip the line, walk right in and pick up your beautiful pink box with your name on it.

Yelp
I wanted to love Cage Babette. It looked amazing on Tik Tok. One day I was near Garfield Park on a Friday and got excited that it would be a day they were open. When I got there, it was baked goods sitting out on a table. No coverings or anything. Sneezy Sally or Breathy Bob could just come in and spittle over everything. I did get 6 pastries (toward the back at least) and the total came to $47! Like, a couple were large but good grief that's a lot. I don't know if I came on a bad day or what but there was a spice in most of them that tasted like licorice. It wasn't my thing. It was in a cinnamon roll and someone thing that looked like an alligator but I can't remember what it was called. I might go back if I know what they have out or I might not because of the sanitary concerns. If I do go it will definitely be first thing in the morning so they haven't been sitting out all day.

Yelp
A bakery that made me think 4 days before what I wanted to order on a Saturday. It sounded insane to my friends but pre-orders for Saturday order ends on Wednesday night, however, walk-in's are welcome. They post the menu on their social media so you can review the options before heading in. Tucked in the Garfield Park neighborhood, Cafe Babette has croissants and desserts better than Paris!!! I pre-ordered online and was able to get 10% off by signing up for emails. There is no line to pickup orders but the line for walk-in's on Saturday could have you standing there for an hour. Once inside, the pastries are not labeled so you either have to go with the appearance or ask someone.. I ordered three pastries - sticky toffee glazed morning bun was #1 for me and coffee cream croissant was a closed second. The raspberry lemon croissant danish was nice but I didn't love the combination of three different flavors in it. Also the raspberry tasted a lot like jam to me. For the size of pastry, they are very fairly priced ($8-9 per pastry). I'd definitely go back - I will still pre-order as I hate waiting!

Yelp
Whooooooa nelly. I'd heard rumblings of a pop-up cafe that was only open until they sold out, and only on certain days. I was at the nearby Garfield Park when I decided to swing by to see if I was lucky enough to catch it while it was open--and I did! I waited in line for about 20-25 minutes, which I expected. It snaked around the small store and out onto the street. I felt badly for the employees who had to run through what everything was (2 dozen items) for every new customer. At one point a staff member asked everyone to be quiet so she could run through it all for everyone's benefit - that was effective! By the time it was my turn, I ended up selecting 4 items because everything looked incredible. Here's my honest review: Instagram-worthy presentation, shockingly expensive ($32), but not mind-blowing taste wise. I brought the items to a friend's and we took a bite of each thing. We both thought they were good, but both had the same feeling that we didn't need a second bite--well, maybe a second bite of the creme brulee cheesecake.

Yelp
We tried Cafe Babette for the first time last Saturday morning. We got there a few minutes before opening, and there was already a line of people waiting in the cold for the doors to open. Once inside, we had plenty of options to choose from. We purchased eight different items, and I felt they were priced fairly for the size and the flavor. My favorite was the blackberry roll of sorts - I'm not 110% sure what to call it, but it was DELISH. I will absolutely be supporting this business in the future, but will likely place an order online to avoid having to wait in line. Warning; pre order does sell out and close pretty early from what I've found so far. If you think you want items this weekend, I suggest placing an order sooner than later!

Yelp
Has anything become more iconic in Indy than Cafe Babette's giant pink box full of oversized pastries in the past year? Not only do they look incredible, they taste phenomenal as well. It's a very simple store front with tables for pastries and a small bench at the entrance. The kitchen area is blocked/covered with sheets. I love the simplicity and wish they could keep it open to see the magic of the baking but it's understandable with cleanliness purposes. The pastries are on the more expensive size but most of them are 1-2 times are larger than a standard one so very reasonable for the portion size. Everything is delicious! I've been 3 times and gotten 3-4 pastries each time and tried something new and been beyond pleased. Honestly I can't praise them enough. The menu is ever rotating (it can literally change within an hour) so the FOMO of missing something is real. You'll want to check their social media for the menu for the weekend as there isn't signage up for what they have to offer. Who ever runs the account is amazing as well (I'm assuming the owners). They are very upfront about everything, almost to a fault, but I love the honesty and vulnerability they are offer in the platforms they are on. Great experiences and even better pasties. I can't recommend them enough for a weekend. I would also encourage preordering on Saturday as the line can be long!

Yelp
Go go go and take your friends! Me and my sweet friend spent an hour in line on a Saturday morning and I'd do it again in a heart beat! We got a sweet box and a savory box and there wasn't a bad thing in the bunch! The savory things were out of this world. The cretzel (croissant pretzel) in particular, we also got a spinach artichoke croissant, and a miso corn focaccia bread that I haven't been able to stop thinking about! The sweets were great in their own right as well. I particularly loved the cookies! We had a peanut butter one with marshmallow fluff topping, and a brown butter toffee chocolate chip that changed my life. Seriously considering buying their merch! lol if you're in Indy it is definitely worth the wait!

Yelp
Honestly didn't love this. I found the pastries to be dry and lacking flavor. The service was pretty quick. I am not opposed to trying again, maybe I just came at a bad time!

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't review Cafe Babette yet. The pastries are absolutely unique and unlike anything I've ever bought or eaten. If you want to really impress your guests, take them here to get pastries in the morning or pre order. Everything is so delicious and instagrammable. You need to pre-order to ensure you get everything you want. The prices are high but totally justified. You can't find these anywhere else. Absolutely 100% worth it. You can tell the bakers put love and passion into every single pastry.

Yelp
Once upon a time during a 90 degree Saturday morning, "The Midwest Second Summer", my friend and I decided that today would be the day we finally commit to going to Cafe Babette. Having followed them on IG and seeing their growth from small bake orders on their socials to having a distribution store front in Garfield Park I knew that I had to finally commit a time to give them a visit. Like everyone says, Pre-Order is the best use of your time if you want to try them out. (Pre-Order opens on Sunday and goes through Wednesday for a Saturday pick-up) We arrived right at opening at 10:30 a.m., and there was already a line around the corner of the street for walk-ins. They have a separate line for timed pick-up, where you can just walk in and grab your order inside. We waited about an hour until we made it to the front of the line, they have all of their pastries laid out on tables, and periodically they will make an announcement to explain what you're looking at - this also helps with people making quicker orders by the time they make it to the front. They have a variety of classic laminated pastries, cakes, cookies, with both savory and sweet options. Their flavor combinations and unique twists on classic pastries makes them a force to be reckoned with! I ordered 4 pastries, 3 sweet (Raspberry Lemon Danish, Cardamon Morning Bun, and Apple Hand Pie) and 1 savory (Ham and Cheese Bechamel Croissant). Let me tell you - there was not a bad bite in the whole bunch, and honestly it was worth the wait and now future addiction. Each pastry can range from $6.50 - $12 a piece depending on what you're getting, but it is worth the price for quality! Cafe Babette does it right, and does not disappoint.

Yelp
I'll start this review with the most important part: PRE-ORDER. The pastries are devine, but not the line. I didn't preorder last week and we ended up spending an hour plus in line.... Would not recommend, unlike their offerings which have NEVER DISAPPOINTED. My dad was irritated but I promised him it was worth the wait and once we got him fed he agreed. Last week we got a muffalata that was even better than the ones I tried in New Orleans. The other new favorite was the cheddar and herb buttermilk which is what you wish the biscuits at Red Lobster actually taste like... down to an edge of crispy cheese.... Omg. Get on the list so you know what and when to preorder and get your own piece of heaven wrapped in a pink box.

Yelp
If you have been thinking about trying this place out then I would recommend not waiting much longer. The food is delicious and there is a range of sweet to savory treats. I would also recommend doing a preorder that way you know you are able to get the pastries you want. I did a preorder and got there a bit late. The place was packed with people who were just stopping in. Preorder boxes were on a bench to the left. I looked for my box and it wasn't there so I just went to the lady who was at the register. They took my name and I was out of the place in less than 10min which was fine with me. I got a heap of stuff and I tried a little piece of it all. Everything was good their pastry dough is amazing. My favorites were the carrot cake croissant, ham and cheese, and the earl grey croissant.

Yelp
My friend and I were at the Garfield Park Farmers Market and she mentioned this bakery that is only open on Saturdays. I had heard of it before so we went to go check it out. The line was out the door so we knew we would have to wait a good amount of time. We peeked in windows and saw the pastries looked delectable. We had a few people who came up and said they preordered so they went in ahead of us. I believe you preorder a few days ahead of time because we looked on their website while in line and did not see an option to do so same day. After about 30 minutes waiting- we got in and the smell of the pastries was mouth watering! None of the items are labeled so a big part of the wait time is the staff explaining what different pastries are to different customers. I ordered the blackberry meringue croissant and a strawberry cream tart- I forget the exact names. The total was $18 for the two items- a little high but these pastries take a lot of time and effort to make. The taste is worth it! The pastry was flaky and the flavors were spot on in both items. I would definitely come back. Lastly the staff were friendly and helpful! They explained all the items and helped pack up orders quickly. (Not that they asked but some tips for the staff that may help! It would be helpful to place little signs by the food explaining what is what to help cut through the wait. Another tip would be to maybe put up a divider between food and customers- there were some kids in front of us who got their faces and hands very close to the food- we did end up seeing one of the kids touch the food -the parent did buy what they touched. The aesthetic inside is very minimal and clean looking but just for health and safety reasons a barrier would be beneficial.)

Yelp
RUN, DON'T WALK! I placed a Saturday pick up from Cafe Babette and had 0 clue what to expect, but WOW! So good! We walked in right at our order time and the boxes were being brought out, this helped us avoid standing in line, but they had plenty of items available for walk ins at 11:30. Each item is so unique in its own way, I'll be regularly making the 35 min drive there. (order picture attached)
google avatar

Mariam W.

Yelp
If you haven't been here then you are missing out! It is worth the 30 minute drive I make from the Northside of Indy to eat the most delicious cookies and loaves I have ever, ever had. My fav cookie is the s'more. So so good. The savory scones are out of this world too. Have not had a single mediocre item here. Worth the $50 I spent each visit. Quality ingredient and lovingly baked. You won't regret a trip to Garfield park for a baked treat. Not the days of operation on the website or socials. Also note this is a take away only joint. No seats. Just folding tables full of goodies to fill up a pink paper box and take home.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this bakery. We went on a Saturday morning. We did have to wait in line for about 20 minutes but it was well worth it. The Garfield Park Farmer's Market is right across the street, so you can make a morning of it! Even after waiting in line, there was still quite a selection! The staff was great with giving descriptions of the pastries! They answered any questions we had. I can't say that made the selection easier because everything sounded amazing. There is street parking and lots of other small businesses within walking distance. Not to mention Garfield Park. I ended up getting the Lavender Morning Bun, a peach and plum cruffin, and two other tasty things I can't remember the exact name of. They also have iced tea and some fruit lemonades. I got the Strawberry Balsamic and it was refreshing! I didn't pick any of the savory pastries but heard from people in line, they are also wonderful. We'll be back to get more of the items we didn't try this time. They have an online pre-order that we will make use of (walk right in, don't have to wait in line)!

Yelp
Walking into Cafe Babette felt like walking into a Brooklyn pop up bakery. It was an amazing surprise in Indy. I have been following their Instagram for months, so I've seen the days of work she pours into these baked goods and finally got a chance to go last Saturday. I'm so happy they have a shop now! It's definitely in a rougher part of town, but also right next to Garfield park so everyone brings their pastries there to eat under the sun! I couldn't have asked for a better start to the weekend. My group of 6 got there around noon and the line wasn't too long, but it was still busy with TONS of preorders stacked along the left wall. They gave us detailed explanations of each and every pastry on their two loaded tables of goodies. I couldn't believe how nice the staff was and how happy they were to repeat what things were. I couldn't believe the variety - 2 whole tables full!! Overall - The cheesy garlic bread was the star of the show. It was buttery, moist, squishy, cheesy and SO delectable. The piece was also HUGE. The sausage roll was also really tasty with fresh herbs in it and soo much bigger than expected. As for the sweets - the cookie croissant bun (I don't know the actual name) was deliciousss. It was dessert in breakfast form with the chocolate chip cookie as the base. The chocolate was oozing out!! I didn't really like the espresso they used in the croissant and the morning bun so I wouldn't get those again but am excited to try the pistachio croissant next time if they have it!! Phenomenal bakery and am SO happy to have it in Indy. Can't wait to send everyone I know to try it!

Yelp
Cafe Babette was such a refreshing bakery to visit in Indy! Unique flavors, the freshness was unreal! I went Saturday morning about one hour after opening, and we waited about 20-25 minutes in line. BUT it was WORTH it! The customer service was nice and explained the different pastries ect. We ordered croissant/cookie, filled croissants, pretzel, and flavored lemonade! They were amazing thick, flaky, tasty! What else could you ask for! The favorites were the pretzel and herb spread (unreal) so good! The herb spread was the MVP of the show, I could eat that out the jar! And the croissant cookie I mean seriously delicious had a whole cookie in the middle, cookie on the bottom that was crisp! My family devoured that chocolate chip croissant cookie, Chefs kiss! I'm looking forward to enjoying more bake goods from this bakery!

Yelp
We did a pickup order today, and our crew loved trying all our goodies! The cookie was super rich and delicious. The croissants were amazingly crisp and light and the fillings were so delicious. We plan to go back and try many more items!

Yelp
Trigger warning: This review probably won't be popular with the Yelp/Instagram crowd. The quality of food is outstanding. Their creativity is outstanding. The staff is outstanding - very helpful, patient and friendly. However, Cafe Babette isn't for me. The prices are high - granted that you get huge portions and great quality - but I don't need large portions for more money than I want to pay. You can only get the food to go. You can't eat it there. The muffuletta sandwich was created for presentation, and it did look outstanding. However, it was annoying when I tried to eat it....the paper was wrapped so tightly to make it stand upright and the bread wasn't cut all of the way so that it could stand upright. It took more effort than should be necessary to eat it. Having said all that, the blueberry danish was the bomb. It was really good! Danish: 5/5 Muffuletta: 4/5 Cruffin: 3/5

Yelp
When visiting a coffee/tea shop in the Garfield Park area we kept seeing people with these pink bakery boxes. We got curious! That's how we found out about Cafe Babette and their 'new' location. They have been a pop1up for a bit and had other locations but are here for the foreseeable future in Garfield Park. You can order online on their website starting on Sunday for pick up on Saturdays. Or you can just walk in like we did. Be prepared to wait in line as it is popular, but you can wait inside and it goes pretty fast as people look forward to their purchases. We especially liked the potato pie which was a lot of think layers but delectable. My husband enjoyed the sausage rolls and several of their croissants are unusual with various veggies or spinach and artichoke (having that one later). Very delicious and fun to support a local baker who is making a go of it. Try them out or check out their website and place an order as definitely worth it!

Yelp
I've been following Cafe Babette for quite awhile and FINALLY after drooling over their photos I can officially say I found my new favorite place to grab local pastries. They were so delicious and very unique. Using lots of different flavors and textures to create beautifully balanced and crafted pastries like you've never tasted. Will continue to support this delicious cafe! Make sure you order ahead! They always have a line and especially if you want a seasonal item that might run out!

Yelp
These are probably the best pastries I've ever had. The croissants rival ones that I had in local cafés in Europe, which I didn't think was possible. They are well worth the 30 minute drive and the price point is 100% justifiable. The pictures do not do their size justice, some of them were as big as my entire face. My only con is that I selected 2PM as my pre order pick up time but when I showed up they were already closed and the doors were locked. Luckily an employee saw me wandering about looking in the windows and let me inside. If they're closing early they should put up a sign saying to knock (or something of that sort) to pick up pre orders because I had a moment of depression thinking I wasn't going to be getting my pastries, LOL. I already can't wait to go back. Put them in heart shaped serving trays for the Galentines celebration I got them for.

Yelp
Pastries are UNREAL! If they say something is a specific flavor, they aren't lying and do everything to deliver it. You cannot convince me that their coconut cake did not come directly from a coconut tree. You can taste the love and passion for what they do! Excited to watch (taste?) their success.

Yelp
Magic is happening in Garfield Park. Cafe Babette has appeared, gliding in on a wave of sugar and spice and so many things nice. They are just getting started in this new location but they are well seasoned in the art of making the most amazing baked goods. Like a true French patisserie, there are a variety of classic pastries, artful baked goods and amazing flavor combinations. The shop itself is just getting set up but the warm welcome you receive makes you feel like you are greeted by old friends. The baked goods are beautiful and other worldly good. The treasures that came home with me were amazing. A slice of Potato Dauphinois Pie, a raspberry and almond laminated pastry and a brioche topped with lemon and blueberries made their way into the proper, pink pastry box for later consumption. The pastries are ever so generous in size and the flavor within each bite will stun you every single time. The potato pie was a festival of flavor. Potatoes cooked in cream, butter and time are thinly sliced and then lovingly tucked into gorgeously baked golden, laminated pastry. It was something new and old world all at once. The laminated pastries are light and flaky and gorgeous structures unto themselves. Whether they are filled with sweet or savory fillings, they are tasty and crisp and delicious. The raspberry and almond was literally happiness in every bite. The brioche was perfect. The soft, buttery, yeasty, eggy bread was topped with a lemon blueberry topping and I am convinced, a touch of fairy dust. Currently, they are only open on Saturday mornings from 10:30 am until they sell out. You can preorder through the week or go on Saturday and purchase what is there and available. Be prepared to wait in line, they are THAT good and so worth it.

Yelp
Absurd. It is better for public health that ordering requires some planning and waiting. If these gigantic flavor wallops were available every day at normal business hours, I would have developed diabetes by now. But there's nothing normal about the flavor combinations (Willy Wonka-esque), portions (perhaps the first time in history a single cookie could feed a family of four), technical prowess (only Basque cheesecake I've had outside of Spain that came close to the correct texture, gorgeous crusts on their focaccia, lamination that will shatter your daily RDA of deliciousness), or customer service (warm & friendly even as lines drag on as people hem and haw at having to pick what gets left behind). Every time I visit (and that's often enough that they recognize me), I am inspired to bake myself. Something truly special that simple superlatives can't sum up.

Yelp
The flavors don't miss here and keep me coming back again and again. The s'mores tart has been my latest favorite, I hope they become a regular menu staple! My other go-to sweet has been the creme brulee croissant. For a more savory option, the cheddar herby scone and croissant breakfast sandwich are delish.

Yelp
When they first started there was one table of pastries. Only a few months later and they have two full tables and they're usually bringing out more varieties when you're there. It's always busy with a consistent line. It's best to pre-order and do a pickup, but I usually don't know that far in advance if I can make the trek down to visit. Thus, if you're popping in on Saturdays, be ready to wait along with everyone else. I usually make it there an hour after opening, and my wait time is an average 45 mins to 1 hour. The queue inside is a bit confusing, but people are nice and will point you in the right direction. They have a lot of sweet options and some savory. The savory options usually go fast because there's so few of them. I get more hungry the longer I'm waiting in line, so I always end up ordering more than I planned. Oh well, then I get to share more with friends, and I'm okay with that! I appreciate the flavor combinations, the creativity, and the friendly staff the most. Street parking can be hard to find, and it's just a bit of a walk then, not bad.

Yelp
I've been absolutely obsessed since the pop-up at Wild Geese in Franklin. Get one of everything. I'm not kidding. They never miss. The giant chocolate chip toffee cookie is SO good - the flaky sea salt on top is the perfect balance to the richness of the cookie. All of the morning buns are great (I love the original sticky bun) and the twice-baked croissants are to die for. Get anything with the Thai tea caramel, and don't pass up the chance to get a slice of cheesecake!

Yelp
I order 60 dollars worth of stuff. I was most looking forward to the chocolate cake. I was horrified when I opened the box.

Yelp
One of the most unique and incredible bakeries in Indy. This is a must go for any sweet treat lover, but their savory options are just as delectable. They are known especially for their As Big As Your Head laminated pastries. From the outside it is unsuspecting. I'm not sure if they even have a sign up still! You go in and there are two tables filled with the most gorgeous pastries and desserts you've ever seen in your life. It is fun to go right at opening on a Saturday where they explain everything that they have out, because there are no labels or menus to read what everything is. Each offering has so many components to it and is so intricate that half the time I cannot remember the name of what I got or what all is in it! I recommend following their Instagram to see what they will have because it is always different and they give real time updates often about what they have out or if they have sold out early. They have different stuff depending on the day. Friday is donut day! I also recommend ordering ahead online so you can pick an exact pickup time and skip the line! You can add stuff when you go in too even if you preordered, which is nice because the preorder does not appear to include all of what they end up offering that day. I think they often decide last minute to add other stuff which is cool and I respect their creativity!Preorder is the only way for me to have any self control because I want one of everything! The staff is very friendly too. The operation is run by a husband and wife team and if you follow their Instagram, you see how much hard work and love goes into every single item. They also do whole cake orders that are gorgeous looking. If you do go on a Saturday and did not preorder, I recommend getting there a little before they open to get the best pick because a line does form before the 10:30 opening! Their stuff may seem pricey but it is totally worth it in my opinion.

Yelp
These are probably the best pastries I have had in Indy! Everything we tried (see my photo) was delicious. The pastries were moist and crispy in the right places and the creams and icings were so decadent and flavorful. The brown butter cookie might have been the highlight. Everything was very large and easily shareable. Also, the baker helped carry my box out to my car while I was wrangling a toddler, so the customer service was appreciated!

Yelp
Beautiful pastries! Particularly loved the Cretzel (giant croissant pretzel with everything bagel seasoning), and the Chocolate Chip cookie. Deliciously buttery with a touch of flaked salt on top-so good!

Yelp
I can't say enough about the creative, massive, flavorful baked goods at Cafe Babette. While pricey, the size and quality are worth it. Putting in your pre-order around 8-11pm on a Sunday before you pick up on Saturday is the best as the line is always out the door (even if it's cold). The owners and staff have intentionally chosen the Garfield Park neighborhood as their community. The storefront is currently bare bones and open only on Saturday which reminds you that it's a local business just starting up. They hardly need a sign or extensive hours to attract customers already. You can easily ride the Red Line or drive your own vehicle to park for free. While you're in the area, you can grab plants from a store across the street, get coffee from Helm, grab beer at Garfield Brewery, or visit the Garfield Park Conservatory.

Yelp
LOVED Cafe Babette!! I did the preorder for 10:30 and walked right in (got to skip the line) and all the preorder boxes were filled and ready!! Such a quick and easy process. Highly recommend pre ordering if you know what you want! Easy free parking around Garfield Park. The people were so nice and they had so many pastry options! Check them out if you haven't yet!

Yelp
So excited that this microbakery now has its own storefront. We have been doing the pre-orders and plan to continue doing so to avoid the long lines, although the pastries are worth the wait! Our pick ups this week... The Twice Baked Carrot Cake Croissant was my personal favorite. Their laminated pastries are incredible! This had a coconutty carrot cake filling and was topped with a tiny carrot. Absolutely beautiful! The Sourdough Focaccia Breakfast Slice had a lovely thick focaccia base. It was topped with a potato confit, eggs, mushroom and a sprinkle of veggie cheese. It was a hearty and a meal in itself. The Orange Thyme Olive Oil Cake Slice was melt in your mouth moist and flavorful. The Cardamom Sugared Morning Bun with Orange Mascarpone Custard was a flaky laminated pastry. It was described as filled with an orange mascarpone custard but it only had a dollop of custard on top and was not filled inside. A bit disappointing but still good. The Herby Cheddar Sourdough Scone was the perfect scone texture. All the pastries are very generous in size and perfect for sharing if you want to try a bit of everything.

Yelp
Had a great time trying cafe Babette. Although it's extremely popular, I got through the line very quickly. The owners were so great and took the time to explain each pastry. The pastry with the Thai tea cream on top was soooo good!!
