Quirky and cool breakfast / brunch spot in downtown Columbia!
We first stumbled upon Cafe Berlin when stopping in town for coffee while on a road trip to STL. When my husband and I decided to stay in CoMo a night, it wasn't hard to decide on Cafe Berlin for brunch!
Started with a few iced coffees, a mocha for him and a maple latte for me. Apparently the bar forgot to add the maple, but our waitress brought it over basically right after delivering our coffee! Looked like a solid cocktail menu, but with a drive back to KC ahead we skipped the drinks for nows.
It was a tricky choice in terms of picking an entree, but I ended up with the Big Boi sandwich. It certainly lived up to it's name! The biscuit was fantastic. The combo of egg, ham, apple, feta, picked onion, and tzatzki was a unique balance of sweet and savory. Definitely too big to fit in my mouth as a sando, so a fork and knife for the win! The husband had a basic breakfast with sausage, potatoes, eggs, and a side of biscuits and gravy. The B&G was drowning in gravy -- which made for a good dipping option for my side of potatoes. Also, don't sleep on the roasted potatoes -- I want to know the secret to their seasoning blend!
Parking was a little tricky - the lot was full, but we found parking (paid) just around the corner. We did have a short wait for table - we didn't want one right by the door, as with the opening and closing it would have been very chilly!
