The 29 Essential Restaurants in Kingston, Jamaica

"If you are going to enjoy Jamaica’s Blue Mountain coffee, there is no better place to do it than the source. Café Blue, perched on a mountain’s edge in Irish Town, offers coffee picked at the brand’s nearby Clifton Mountain Estate. Keep it simple with a cup of 100 percent Blue Mountain coffee, or if you’re game, order the Misty Blue, which calls on a shot of rum for an extra kick. There’s also a wide menu of breakfasts, sandwiches, and pastries if you want to stay a while. Head to the outdoor deck, drink in the view, and indulge in the full bean-to-cup experience." - Leisha Wong

Heard many wonderful things about this place and decided to check it out on our next visit to this side of the island. We stopped in around 11:30 for lunch, our server was prompt In taking our orders. It didn't take long for our orders to arrive at our table. Visually, it looked as expected but something was noticeable missing, no steam.....the food was 10⁰ lower than lukewarm and this was very disappointing. I like my ground provision to have some steam about it and the green bananas were a tad bit hard. I was famish so i ate most of it, but i can't comment on the taste because you know what they say about when someone is hungry. On the plus side, the view was awesome and the place was clean, did not encounter any flies.

Cafe blue is probably the one of the first cafes you will see at the foothills of the blue mountain. Approx 20 mins drive into the mountains. The cafe has nice relaxing vibe and friendly staff. High wifi speed which meant I could also work for few hours with the amazing view in the backdrop. Definitely lived upto the recommendations I saw at other places! I am not sure how it is on weekends, but parking could be tricky as there isn’t a lot of space. Luckily for me I could park my car right next to cafe.

Cafe Blue is the perfect little eatery for having a cup or few of the authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. There are a variety of coffee cocktails to choose from, along with continental breakfast options, sandwiches, wraps and paninis. It is a good location to just chill, relax, reflect, reset and enjoy nature. If you are a coffee and nature lover this spot is perfect for you. Be prepared: The cafe is small and getting there is a winding adventure. Parking is a challenge, there is only roadside parking along a winding road. There are some great lookout spots along the way where you can experience the beautiful and colourful sunset🌞😍 If you are a local or a visitor 8/10 recommend!

Maybe because of the location but I had the best double espresso ever:) Of course I bought some Blue Mountain coffee beans. The pecan pie I had was a little dry, but who cares with such a view. Absolutely worth a visit when you are in Kingston. It is about a 40 minute drive by taxi (+/- 2000 JMD)

Well Crystal Edge is the place to order from. They are the main reason we go to enjoy local cuisine. Their food and service are excellent! The younger folks in my group however, order from Cafe Blue and I must say CB is consistent with their below par service. Although the staff is pleasant they take a very long time to serve the food. I mean who serves breakfast meals 20-30 minutes after it is ordered and the hot chocolate is still not ready. Thank god for Crystal Edge!

Unique coffee shop in Irish Town Jamaica. Excellent service from the friendly staff. A really good cup of coffee and other food items. You are able to buy ground or in bean form, the Jamaica's famous blue mountain coffee. I was there twice on my trip and both experiences were very positive. I will go back. Driving experience: If you are a tourist with your own car and plan to drive to the cafe, it is fairly straightforward. Be prepared however for narrow and winding roads that go up to the mountain. The roads are in good condition, however there are sharp curves and traffic....remember to sound your horn as you round certain corners. Google maps did a great job finding the place.
