HUGE UPDATE! THEY'RE SELLING PHONE NUMBERS!!
I just moved to Parker like a month ago, and got calls just now from a senior living center trying to advertise to me. Exactly three companies have gotten my phone number and know I live in Parker now: Amazon, American Express, and CAFE CHINA!! Not even my leasing office has my number, they have my husband's. They busted themselves by process of elimination! Don't buy here unless you want your info sold!!!
As for the service here: Upon pickup, a very terse lady asked me for my phone number, from far behind the counter. I could not hear her, she was not polite. A more polite man found the food and took my payment, he was chill and kind. The lady needs to understand that he can NOT compensate for her, and maybe just stay away from the counter.
As for the food: The dumplings are nice, and they were the only thing. That's the best thing I can say. I had an order of orange beef, chicken lo mein, dumplings and egg rolls. I picked it up at the time indicated on my order, and let me tell you: by the time I got there, the orange beef was absolutely soggy and sodden, all the way through. It is downright mushy. Not a single iota of crispness. I believe it was cooked well, as it tasted well prepared (not good though, for other reasons) but they very much need to avoid MASSIVELY over-estimating the ready time, to the point it ruins dishes. Additionally, it is severely too sweet. I know this is always a risk when I order anything from an American Chinese place, but this is one of the worst offenders I've had in a long time. The sauce is basically concentrated syrup. Let's put it this way, there were actual orange pieces, which is commendable, but I was using them to CLEAN MY PALETTE of the sauce. I'm hormonal-hungry right now, and did not finish the dish. My husband got chicken lo mein and allowed me a few bites. But... here's a picture of what it looked like coming out of the box. They stuffed it down and it was stodgy and congealed. It does taste better than the orange beef, and I usually scoff at reviews that say things are bland, especially Chinese, but this was indeed bland. Chinese food that is simple and well prepared is a delight. This was 90% cheap noodles and uninspired sauce. The wok hay is just not there and that's a make or break for me with lo mein. It IS a simple dish, it's supposed to be. I make it better myself and I'm by no means Chinese. Dear owners: You should try these two condiments. Dark soy and shao xing wine. Why are they in my kitchen but not yours?
The worst: My steamed rice had a spot of sauce in it, as if a used spoon was used to scoop it. I was going ot give a 2-star, but this is what you did to get my 1. Cross contamination is not okay. Not ever. Period.
