Food, Service & atmosphere 20/10!!!!! Tutto Pizza 🍕,Shrimp scampi in that amazing lemon 🍋 butter 🧈 base, yum yum and the dessert was tiramisu and was INCREDIBLE! We ordered an octopus 🐙 and were tender and firm and delicious too. And for last, let’s talk about the “secret sauce”….. need to try it out! See you next week!!!!

Impeccable service from Fernando!! My first time at Cafe Cibo; it won't be my last. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in a beautiful interior Italian setting. They offer outdoor seating as well. Fresh made pasta 😋 There's a wide variety to choose from. Authentic Italian food, coffee, dessert, pizza even. The Italian Wedding soup was scrumptious. Bread was brought to us immediately. Our table enjoyed the Alfredo Pesto, Spaghetti Marinara; Pasta and Crab. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we couldn't have had better service!

Food was fantastic. Great portion size. Staff very friendly and seemed happy to work there. Traditional Italian neighborhood joint. Owner Frank is walking around checking on customers. Full house on a Wednesday night but still no wait. Can’t wait to come back!

We went for a date night and were not disappointed. The food and service were great! Fernando was very knowledgeable about the menu and extremely attentive. We were particularly impressed with Fernando, it’s nice to see a young well trained server. My date and I both ordered food to our preference and the kitchen accommodated us very nicely. We will definitely be back.

We came for dinner and didn’t really have to wait long to be sat. We sat out on the patio. The waitress we had said she was the manager, but I can’t remember her name- she was great! I got a shrimp alfredo, and my partner ordered a bolegnese, that I thought was pretty good but wasn’t for her. We let out waitresses know and she brought out a couple sauce options to try to make sure she got a dish that she would like, and she ended up going with the Pomodoro and that sauce was very good too! The bread was delicious, I loved the focaccia. I’d recommend and can’t wait to come back

Everything was delicious ! My go to for real Italian food . Their Espresso was not my favorite. I love every pasta dish I have had three ! Warm service and a quaint place !

Google
It's a fairly small restaurant so their servers aren't running all over the place. This helped give us speedy service! Food was good and people were friendly. They have an outside dining area as well. Parking lot is not very big, but there is street parking. Beer and wine only in case it matters.

Yelp
Cafe Cibo is a quint little Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. There are ceiling fans in both locations for comfort. We had Caprese salad with very fresh mozzarella, delicious! My daughter and I split the manicotti and they prepared both of our dishes separately and provided us each with a side salad. Each table receives bread with dipping sauce at the beginning of the meal with was fresh and also delicious. Jonesy was our server. She was there before we needed anything, thank you for the fabulous service!

Yelp
I was craving pasta and here we went! I was in love with my choice! Our server was so nice! And the inside is so cute and cozy. We sat outside during sunset and it was a vibe.

Yelp
I really wanted to try this place based on its yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! The chicken parmigiana was a huge portion with 2 large pieces of chicken. It also included 1 piece of bread. Don't skip dessert... the chocolate cake was amazing. The food was ready quickly and was packaged nicely for take out. Highly recommend.

Ashley H.

Yelp
The tiramisu is fantastic-- super light and fluffy. I've been going to this restaurant for years and rotate between a couple favorite dishes. They're consistent with quality and flavor and always good.

Yelp
It's been ages since we have been here and the fact that they are still here and packed says a lot! We got in around 7'ish and were sat right away. Small inside area and a little too warm to be sitting outside. So our sever Raphaela was great. Got us our water and answered the initial plethora of questions from Debbie like a trooper. So we started with the crab stuff portobello . Lots of crab and great flavors. For our mains I got the Chicken florentine. Amazon flavors and the chicken was cooked so good. Deb settled on the Stuffed pork loin. Lots of great flavors but a little dry. I would say that unless you can eat a lot or you want leftovers get the half portions. Full portions are large but only a few dollars more. This place has been around for a long time and you know why when you eat here. Laid back and friendly folks with good food.

Yelp
I've been dying to try this place every time i drive by and finally ordered it tonight. I got the Manicotti, 10/10! arrived quick and warm, and so yummy. definitely want to visit in person to try other dishes!

Yelp
I gatekeep this spot because it is so delicious. Service is always so friendly and quick. It's a small restaurant but I've never had to wait. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I have loved everything I've tried. Pasta options are offered as a small and regular dish. The bread and dip is addicting.

Yelp
Café Cibo is a great Italian restaurant with very homey vibes. The ambiance is very quaint and family style. The service was very well oriented and friendly. I've been here for lunch, and more recently dinner, both are phenomenal options. They give you bread with the vodka dipping sauce and it's amazing. There portions are huge! So leftovers was definitely enjoyed.

Yelp
I can't even begin to pronounce the name of this dish by HOLY MOLEY. I'm not an Italian person but I will be coming back for this. It was called like catchateo or caccatiore. The flavor was so rich and the chicken was the perfect consistency. The sauce tasted like a garlic tomato heaven in my mouth. You could order a Small medium or large and I ordered the small and have leftovers for lunch tomorrow!! Our waiter, Fernando, was very friend despite the ridonkulous comments from the elders at the table, including being asked to microwave the butter. He was very accommodating to our weird requests. 10/10 for this experience. The only thing I found weird was the chefs were Mexican and not Italian.

Yelp
I love nearby so this place is always a go-to. I highly recommend you go and dine- in because their bread and dipping sauce is The server is friendly, but does seem like she would rather be elsewhere usually. I wasn't too hungry on my last grip there so I only got the bruschetta and it was incredible. Simple, but with good ingredients. I would definitely recommend this place

Yelp
Food was good. Atmosphere was nice. Service was good except for the hostess. The tables for two are very small but so is the restaurant.

Meagan M.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming here for years. The food is excellent, best Italian in town. Service is always superb. Highly recommend! We have relocated to Safety Harbor and still make the drive to come here!

Yelp
My husband and I came here after picking out our Christmas tree since it was in the area, and we got seated right away since it wasn't too busy, which was great. We ordered the stuffed portobello as an appetizer, he ordered the chicken and spinach cannelloni, and I got the penne con porto. The portobello was pretty good, but I was a little disappointed it was only one mushroom. The cannelloni was honestly just TOO much cream for me (doesn't help that I'm lactose intolerant, I usually take lactaid but I was out of it that night), and the flavors were just very homogenous/a little boring. I liked my penne con porto much better, but it also just felt like there was something missing. I think it needed a little bit more balance. Overall though, pretty good food and it was a cute little spot. I definitely would be willing to come back and try ordering some other stuff to see how they fare.

Yelp
Food is delicious. We had a Di Mare pizza which was awesome. Great flavors - loved it! Also had the house and Caesar salads, fresh with tasty dressings. The chicken Marsala was very tender and delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Dear Readers, It's been awhile since I have reviewed a restaurant. Cafe Cibo seemed like a great choice for dinner last night. Unfortunately, after the first 5 minutes I deeply regretted my decision. To start, I arrived around 6:30 pm. Dinner was in full swing as this is an early bird place. It was over 80 degrees in the restaurant (thermostat read). When I mentioned how hot it was the waitress stated, 'we don't touch the thermometer'. It's hot because we are not open for lunch on the weekends and it takes awhile to cool the place down when there are a lot of bodies here. We put the temp at 74 but it takes few hours to get there. By 7pm, the thermostat was still reading 80 degrees and most of the crowd was gone, my makeup had melted off and I had no appetite. Clearly, the comfort of the guests is not a concern of the owners or waitstaff. This is a beer/wine only restaurant. No hard liquor. The wine list by the glass seemed decent, except the wine listed which I asked for was no longer available. The waitress states, "yeah, those wine companies shut down and there's nothing we could do about it". We selected a $44. bottle of wine from Tuscany. It was ok- Each table receives a basket of bread with a tomato based dipping sauce. This is a nice touch as most restaurants these days charge for bread service. The flavors of the dishes I tasted were flat, dull, and well....lacking FLAVOR. The seafood pasta dish was - eh. These are not authentic Italian recipes. There is NO cream in Carbonara folks. My Caesar salad had wilted lettuce - you need crisp lettuce here! The pasta was not al dente - very soft - it was as soggy as I was feeling by this time. If you decide to check it out, I would stick to the pizza and cold beer - I didn't try the sandwiches that were available but they looked decent. This would NOT be a recommended restaurant option - there are so many better options out there - especially considering how hot it was on a June evening in Florida.

Yelp
Best mom and pop Italian in st pete FL Anything you order will be amazing Bread and dipping sauce to start will set the mood perfectly for your meal Can't say enough good things about this place you have to try

Ellen R.

Yelp
Pizza was just good, not great. Veal Milanese was thin and crispy but unfortunately way overcooked becuz it was do thin. I will give it another try next time I am nearby

Kendall H.

Yelp
Came in with my diabetic Uncle. Waitress was rude when he asked for sugar substitute. Staying after our order we were soon to find this server is a very hostile person. Food cam out crab in pasta far from fresh, eggplant Parm with overcooked blackened coating - bitter. We will not come back. Save your money and go to restaurants with higher standards. Clearly seniors are not welcome here. St. Pete's progressive welcoming atmosphere is completely missing here.

Anthony S.

Yelp
The service from are mouthy waitress. Talk to a customer like this is absolutely not acceptable. I've never been in a place where the staff was so rude in my life. Second the food was horrible way overcooked way overdone the pork wasn't cooked enough and the fish was fishy needless to say we will never go back there again

Yelp
We had a large party and had 25% gratuity added to our bill. Just a heads up . Miserable experience.

Yelp
This place has some killer eats!! I don't know what sauce comes with the breeds but it is super addIcting!!! I love that there was focaccia bread. I had a Cesar salad which was fresh. The Calamari was so tender plus that red sauce is delicious. Their egggplant pizza though is a thing of beauty if you likee eggplant Parmesan like I do you'll love this. The eggs plant melted in to all the mozzarella and ricottta and the acidity from the sauce was perfect to cut through all that richness. I had their chicken Parmesan and man oh man talk about a ginormous portion I ate maybe half one of my crispy chicken breast and a few bites of my penne Alfredo before calling it quits. This place reminded me of being back in New York the Italian joint on the corner where there is a grandma cooking in the back. If your in St. Pete and are looking for some Italian, give this place a try.

Kerri C.

Yelp
I live close by this restaurant and really had high hopes that it would be a local favorite but it's just not good! The side salad and bread are so bland and the entrees aren't tasty either! Let's not even mention the service that's so lacking! One waitress in particular, a shorter, white, middle aged woman with a brown ponytail treats you like you're bothering her and lucky to be acknowledged by her!! Im so disappointed in this outwardly appearing quaint little spot and will never go back. Not even for take out.

Michael S.

Yelp
Pasta was flavorless, pizza was pretty good. spaghetti carbonara was decently tasty, but felt extremely fattening.
google avatar

Cheryl W.

Yelp
Ok let's start with the fresh bread and dipping sauce. Restraint is needed in order to save room for the dinner. The portions are very generous, the pasta fresh, and the sauces divine. We tried to save room for dessert but ended up having the tiramisu packed up for later. We will be back.

Yelp
I had a small pizza and it was terrific! The wait staff takes exceptional care of you and starts you off with a tray of bread and your drink order while you glance through the menu. The wait staff keeps your drinks refreshed while you are enjoying your meal. An excellent experience overall! If you are looking for an Italian style restaurant for lunch or dinner, Cafe Cibo is the place. It's worth the drive in St. Petersburg or across the bridges from Tampa.

John B.

Yelp
The best Crab cakes i have found in all of St Pete! They also make a great seafood pizza. On top of that they have a very friendly staff.

Yelp
I'm giving this place the benefit of the doubt and rounding up to 3 stars as I'm hoping the food is better dining in. We ordered through BiteSquad and it was pretty not delicious. The Italian Wedding Soup (which is what I was craving and why we ordered from here) was actually pretty good. Over salted definitely, by a lot, but the flavors and meatballs were good. The chicken piccata was not good. It's $13.99 for the small portion or $3 more for the regular portion. We went small, because Italians don't typically do anything small. It's large and extra large normally. Haha. Well, I was wrong. It was a tiny piece of chicken, with more capers thrown on than actual chicken, in an odd mustard-lemon sauce. It did not come with noodles underneath to soak up the sauce, but ziti noodles with the most generic watered down red liquid masqueraded as sauce. It was pretty bad. I can't say I'd ever order from here again, sadly, as the entrees were not tasty nor worth the $50 we paid for dinner. Plus, on top of the BiteSquad fees AND tip, it's another $5.99 to order from Cafe Cibo. Thankfully it was my first BiteSquad order so that last $59.99 was waived.

Yelp
The food is amazing! I have no qualms at all about the quality or the taste. Definitely above average. However, I ordered the fruti de mare and my complaint is that is did not have a variety of seafood. Majority of the fare was calamari and I absolutely would not have ordered this dish had I known that. I had 3 mussels, 3 shrimp, and 3 scallops. That's it. When I asked to have a few more shrimp made for my dish, I was not informed of the $8 up charge and I was given 3 pieces of shrimp. THEN when we received the bill, I was told they gave me a "deal" because it should have been a $16 up charge. I was very annoyed with the pricing and the lack of communication. I was also charged $2 for changing my sauce and $5 for a side salad when they ASKED ME what salad I wanted. It was never communicated that there were fees. There's also a fee for using card verses cash. I would eat here again for the ambiance and for the food but I am very upset about the extra fees and lack of communication.

Yelp
Heard so many great reviews so wanted to check it out. Not very impressed. Staff was great but the food was mediocre. Not enough seasoning. I had the fettuccine alfredo. The pasta was very good. Fresh and light but the sauce was watery and bland. Was completely turned me off was when the server asked if we wanted some additional cheese and the came out with the fake "green canister" stuff instead of serving freshly grated parmesan. Full disclosure I am Italian

Yelp
I would return here. Very friendly service and didn't have to wait too long to be served. Our party of 3 ordered spaghetti and meatballs (2 stars for the meatballs because they were mushy,) ravioli (2 stars because it was overpowered by the taste of Gorgonzola,) and Cibo's pasta (4 stars - delish!) We also ordered their smallest Margherita pizza to taste it and it didn't disappoint - great flavor, crispy crust, and served piping hot! Their hot bread they serve with some delish concoction of garlic, melted butter and herbs is AH-MAZE-ZING! Had to make myself stop eating the bread or else that would have been my dinner! Their pastas are homemade and they are very good! Hope to return when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Pasta is delicious, but heavy. I finally decided to branch out and try something other than the Portobello Mushroom Salad. I'm sure it should be the other way, but ever since getting pregnant, I've been less concerned about gaining weight (ok, that part makes sense because it is inevitable, but I should still be healthy!) I've turned into quite the carboholic because it made me feel better when I had morning sickness. All of that is a long way of saying I finally tried the pasta. At 6 p.m. on a Tuesday there was tons of seating. It looks like they've opened the dirt lot adjacent to the parking lot for people to park in, which is great because their parking lot is way too tiny! (I once tried to park there, couldn't find space, and ended up going somewhere else. This time service was a little spotty. We almost had to accost our waiter as he was walking by to get something because he never made eye contact with our table. We also had to ask for bread (always ask for bread with crack sauce. This is one of those breads that is worth filling up on) whereas it looked like it was brought automatically to the other tables. We started with the calamari. It was nice and lightly fried. It could have used some more salt, but there is salt on the table! I got the Baked Ziti with Eggplant and my friends got the Cibo's Primavera and Bianco and Spinaci Pizza. It was all supremely delicious but very heavy. Everything was super rich. Now that might be your version of heaven, and this is where taste is subjective, but I like leaving a restaurant without a food coma. I was in a serious coma after this meal. The Baked Ziti with Eggplant was absolutely smothered in cheese. The Spinaci Pizza had a generous heaping of ricotta on each slice. Again, all of this is delicious, but I only made it through half my dish (ok, granted I ate three pieces of bread with crack sauce, but shh) and I still felt super sluggish. This is the only reason I'm bumping it down to four. Don't come at me with pitchforks because taste is supremely subjective and I'm sure my husband wouldn't even register the richness of the meal. I think the perfect meal would be to split the Portobello Salad and a pasta dish. Now that sounds divine.

John D.

Yelp
We when here for dinner and u have a guide dog whom we have brought here before. They refused to let us eat inside. ADA violation. Very rude manager. If you are handicapped, stay away!

Yelp
Fun place for good pizza and simply Italian food . The staff is mostly friendly unless you ask for a change of table ...

Yelp
I find this place to be..eh...ok We went on a Saturday night about 7:00. It was steady but not busy. I got the last parking spot though as their lot is tiny. We ordered a glass of wine and notice they had pricing for the bread baskets so we assumed you it was not complimentary, but it was! The loaf of bread was soft and good, the focaccia was dry and boring. I dont get all the hype about the dipping sauce as it seemed like watered down tomato sauce to me. My friend ordered the ziti with eggplant. It was a layer of plain ziti, covered in eggplant slices, then sauce & cheese. She said it was good. Not delicious, but good. I didn't get to try it. (Someone doesn't play well with others) I had the fettuccine bolognese. If it's on the menu in any Italian restaurant I will ordered it. Here it was, ok. just ok. Far from delicious. Seemed like it was just ground beef, no pork or veal, and crushed tomatoes and sauce. Rather bland and boring. In fact, that seemed to be the overall theme. Definitely a family place, not much of a date place. Certainly not a special occasion place. Will I go back? Well, it's cheap enough, and it's not bad, it's just mediocre. Will have to debate on that.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Wow, just wow. This has to be one of my worst experiences ever. I had a simple order, rigatoni Alfredo. An Italian joint that doesn't have rigatoni? That should have been a red flag there. I had to go with penne, not a biggy. But the Alfredo sauce was like water, zero cheese and flavorless. A very simple dish to make and I had to go home, sweat some garlic, add heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese just to fix a dinner I didn't want to cook in the first place. To me this place falls into the 90% of Italian restaurants suck category. I'll never be back here. Just moved here from Jersey, gave it a shot and it failed. Oh and for a $20 pasta dish it should be at least edible. I'll leave a pic of the dish from after I fixed it below.

Yelp
We came from Miami for a Bday party in Tampa and stop on the Wawa for gas and thats when we saw Cafe Cibo and went in because we were hungry and in a hurry. Excellent service and great food. The ambience was so nice that we have some wine and relax for a little before heading to Tampa. Excellent stop for lunch or dinner. Staff was nice and food came to the table on time.
google avatar

Yelp
Great bread and dipping sauce but the carbonara wasn't cooked correctly. The egg was scrambled in the pasta so it didn't seem right
google avatar

Jomas M.

Yelp
We were there for a short family trip just a few weeks ago. We enjoyed the casual ambiance of the place but moreso the hospitality it offers. The food was great. We really liked the free bread they offer but we still opted to try their bruschetta which was also good. For our entree we decided to try their margherita pizza, their special of the day crab mac n cheese and chicken parm. All were tasty but we ended up not finishing them because I guess we ate too much bread LoL Overall it was a pleasant dining experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is craving for some Italian fare.
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Several tasty options on the menu. The bread and dipping oil they put on table was fabulous! Nice that you can order a smaller plate or a full order of the entrees. The service was very good. It's a cute cozy place inside. They made you feel welcome!

Yelp
I really, really wanted to like this restaurant because I have not yet found an Italian restaurant that I like in St. Pete. Yelpers gave this place an average review of 4 stars, so I had to give it a try, but the food was disappointing. It obviously can not compare to the Italian food in Italy, but it can't really even compare to what I can make at home and I'm not Italian. This restaurant has now inspired me to make my own pasta and sauces from scratch. The raviolis were okay, but the creamy sauce drowned any flavor provided by the ravioli. For linguine with clams, I'm use to the pasta dishes that are made with a delicate garlic white wine sauce and manila clams (or something similar). This dish was made with the large, chewy clams that we didn't even eat, the sauce was a bit heavy and the pasta a bit overcooked. I left here thinking, I'm really glad that I can cook food the way that I like to eat it.

Yelp
Very good food. Looking forward to visiting their larger location down the street! Staff was wonderful

Yelp
Food is always tasty. I'd go just for the bread and dipping sauce! Great service and family feel. Reasonable prices.

Yelp
It's great besides the raw steak and slow service. The bread and dipping sauce was yummy and the ambiance was quaint and cute.

Yelp
Can I just say I loved this restaurant. To me it was just a little gem beside the Wawa lol The food was good, portion sizes were great, the bread with that dipping sauce.....I cannot get enough of it. The wine we had was so nice and light and so was the beer. The bathroom is super small fyi and the decor is dated, but food is soooooo gooood
google avatar

Yelp
It's been maybe 5 years since we ate at Cafe Cibo and we went back recently. Loved it!! Dipping sauce is amazing!

Yelp
Great place. I had the lasagna and it was probably the best I've had. Clean restroom, the service was great. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
My husband and I had driven up from Fort Lauderdale. We were tired and grumpy from dealing with a stressful situation back in South FL and a long car ride. We checked into our rental and decided it would probably be best to eat something before exploring to avoid becoming hangry. I love Italian food and have a temp crown on my tooth, so this place fit the bill for my favorite cuisine and something I could easily chew. I turned to Yelp to see what was super close and had good ratings. Cafe Cibo popped up and was only about a 6 minute walk from our lodging. My husband and I are often thrilled when we don't have to get in the car, especially in an area where we aren't familiar with the roads. We began our stroll over, we arrived sometime before 2 and the restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated on the patio, which is really nice and provides a lot of shade from the sun. The sangria sounded good after our rough morning and was $15 for a carafe. We ended up getting 4 glasses total out of it. I would say the flavor was really nice, but the drink wasn't too strong. We placed our orders. If you are on a budget, they had some nice looking lunch specials. I'm usually a very detailed trip planner, but I only had a small list of things to see in the Tampa/Saint Pete area. I figured I would ask the waitress what spots she recommended. It was a nice enough day out, so I was in a be outdoors, explore and walk around mood. She provided me with some good ideas of things to do in the area. Our bread came out and it was good, two thumbs up for the yummy dipping sauce. Now how would the meals be? I should point out that I lived in NY for the majority of my life. I am by no means a foodie, but I'm fussy when it comes to Italian and pizza. Have to say, the food here was fabulous! My manicotti was fresh, nicely seasoned and tasty. It had just the right amount of sauce too. It reminded me a lot of the manicotti that I used to love at Carrabbas, which is no longer on the menu. My husband had shrimp parm and he enjoyed it. Our waitress came out with a 2 page list of tourist things to do in the area, this was so nice of her to do for us! Overall a nice dining experience, if I lived in Saint Pete I could see myself eating here once or twice a month.
