Cafe Clover - Review - West Village - New York - The Infatuation

"If we get one more fresh, farm-sourced California-inspired restaurant, we’ll be in serious danger of attracting all the sun-seeking Benedict Arnolds back from San Francisco. But if Cafe Clover wants to stay a while, we certainly won’t mind. You see, they’ve somehow found a way to give off a warm, summer-y, homey vibe no matter how crowded it is or how much snow is dumping outside. Kind of like when you enter Mary’s Fish Camp and get a sudden urge to sail the sh*t out of Cape Cod. When you enter Cafe Clover, you can’t help but feel like you’re one of the pretty people who lunches on weekdays in Santa Monica. In an elegant, yet come-as-you-are kind of way. We won’t lie. The most accurate way to describe Cafe Clover’s menu is “chick food.” With “chick” being interchangeable with any term you have for humans of any gender who have an annual SoulCycle membership, attend Fashion Week events, and/or know every lyric on Michelle Branch’s break out album. All things we respect, but don’t necessarily dabble in. But next time we’re looking to prove to visiting parents that we’re operational adults, or even better, trying to show our new squeeze we know what spaghetti squash is, Cafe Clover will be on the list. It also has serious eating alone/meeting some fabulous folk at the bar potential. Just watch out for the models. They’re mean when they’re craving cauliflower steak. Food Rundown Sweet Potatoes There are several fresh-looking vegetable selections to kick off your meal, and they even offer a Westville market plate-style 3 for $22 option to share with the table. If you’re in for something cozy and flavorful, hit up these bad boys. Diver Scallops Perfectly pan-seared with a light ginger flavor to give ’em some kick. Celery Root Salad It has the texture of spaghetti squash, but the taste of a sassy vinaigrette. Chick. Food. On. Fleek. Octopus A La Planche These spicy and lightly sauced tentacles are the business. Organic Scottish Salmon We’re always disappointed when our Scottish salmon is served sans bagpipes. But the simplicity of this lighter dish makes up for it. Quinoa Tagliatelle Don’t let the word “quinoa” deter you. This dish is dangerously close to replacing Lupa’s carbonara on the top of our craving list. It’s light, but savory and flavorful. Pasture Raised Beef Burger This burger isn’t great, but if you’re in a beefy mood, this is a solid bet. It’s served on a sweet potato bun and comes with any side you want. Like always, we recommend adding cheddar. Halibut The fish itself melts in your mouth, while the vegetable and lentil accoutrements bring the party. Even halibut haters will be into this dish. Brussels Sprouts In theory, brussels sprouts roasted with jalapenos sounds genius. But in practice, they just toss them into the mix and hope for the best. We’d expect more flavor here, but instead, they’re just meh. Olive Oil Potato Purée Not only is its mini ceramic serving pot adorable, this side is a must-have. The portion isn’t huge, but the flavor is big enough to make you genuinely entertain the ultimate first world curiosity: where does Cafe Clover get their olive oil?" - Calais Zagarow

Delightful! Tucked away in a discreet corner of the HMart shopping complex, this cafe has plenty of cozy seating (more than initially meets the eye) and tasty options for for drinks and sweet treats. We enjoyed the freshly made tayaki and green tea. Staff were friendly and the cafe was sunny and quiet. A pleasant little place that exceeded our expectations. Worth a visit!

Google
The strawberry milk ice was generous in portion and tasted really good! But I was honestly speechless that the store didn’t have the air conditioning on — especially when it was 97°F outside! It was unbearably hot inside. Also, the staff didn’t seem very friendly or welcoming.

This is the closest place I found that has Taiyaki and delimanjoo besides NYC. Their taiyaki was good but I was disappointed they removed delimanjoo from their menu. Not sure if this is permanent or temporary. They also do not allow you to call in and order ahead. I feel like since taiyakis take a little time to be made they should have some kind of online ordering option where you can pay and order ahead of time. Service could be a little more friendlier.

This was a place my daughter wanted to check out. She was missing LA and wanted Takiyaki ice cream. She found this place online and wished to try it. We did. It was good but nothing like the ones we had in LA.

I can say i never was treated in such a manner until TODAY 10/20/25. Literally as soon as I walked in I was searching for my friend who was tucked away in the corner, (note: i was carrying a forearm length rectangle box). As soon as i started calling her, the elder lady behind the counter says "your looking for the restraunt next door." And i said no, my friend is here. The interaction was innocent and I thought she meant well. My friend eventually pops up from the corner and she is walking towards the counter i was standing in front of. As my friend is walking to me, the lady behind the counter proceeded to tell me that I could not bring in any outside food or drinks. In reply I said, thats fine its not a food or drink, its a gift. She then says, a game or... after that it became muffled bc atp im getting upset and irritated. I said dont worry, its just a gift. I proceed to hug my friend and give her the gift. At this point of the interaction im flustered and uncomfortable by this woman behind the counter because she is heavily staring at me and I feel targeted. I tried to brush it off and decided to lighten up by just seeing if I wanted a drink. But she was literally staring me down and I just got overwhelmingly uncomfortable and decided I just wanted to sit down and talk to my friend and I didnt want to interact with this lady for any reason. So let me just avoid getting a drink. When I decided that I didnt want to order something she said "you have to get something." In which I replied that my friend already purchased an item here and she proceeds to say, 1 purchase per customer. At this rate im getting so fustrated that I tell my friend that I will leave and she can stay and profusely apologizing to my friend. After some back and forth with my friend of decisions, we decided to just go elsewhere. It was truly embarrassing and mean how I was treated that while I was waiting outside Cafe Clove, two customers who were sitting right by the counter left immediately after me and as they passed by me they said what happened to me was uncalled for and she didnt have to do that to me. I thought that I was being silly but it truly was an unnecessary attack towards me. I was the only dark skin person in the entire establishment may I add, cant say it was a factor but it was definitely giving. 👀

Hi everyone so I’ve been coming to cafe clover for years, literally since middle school. I always loved coming here for a drink or their ice cream, but recently I came just to have a study date with my boyfriend. We went in and everything was normal. We put our things down and I was telling him how I was going to buy a matcha drink. He said he had to use the bathroom, but the manager had a problem with him using the bathroom saying he had to buy something to use it. I thought it was strange cause that wasn’t a rule before so I told him I’ll buy my drink now so that he can use the bathroom. The owner of the store was upset with us bc I wanted to buy something and he said he didn’t want to order anything. She kept saying “1 order per person. That’s the only way u can stay here.” My boyfriend got upset at what she said bc that was never a rule before. I asked her if I could still get my purchase and she said we can only stay if he got something too. So I offered to get him something too but he still didn’t want anything. There was a bit of a language barrier with the owner, but it felt like she was being micro aggressive towards my boyfriend and kept asking me “why is he mad?” I knew why bc we’ve been coming here for years and the new rules we were told were just confusing. When u come to a cafe u don’t always have to buy anything. She told my boyfriend “why would I let u sit here? Do you pay for the air conditioning, bathroom, seating areas?” And I felt that was completely rude. He got more upset bc of how she was talking to him. So I told her I’ll just get my drink and we’ll leave. She kept insisting to me that she would give me a refund and I can leave, but I told her “I still want my drink.” She said I know but since he didn’t buy anything I will be getting a refund. It felt more like a race thing bc we are both black. It felt like she found us aggressive when I spoke to her with such respect. Anyways I got my drink after a worker explained to her what I wanted. She kept giving my boyfriend a very dirty look as if she wanted to start another problem with him. After we left we saw her and other workers staring at us from the window bc we were outside the store. Used to love this place. Now I’m never going back. Also the prices went up and my drink wasn’t even worth the hassle. I wish I did get the refund!

I’m very displeased and disappointed at this establishment! I came to study with my sister and her boyfriend. We all was going to order and after my sister boyfriend ordered, I go up to the counter the older lady tells me we each have to order one thing as I was getting ready to! She came off very rude and unfriendly. After we all got our order in she then proceeded to tell us isn’t it better to study at a library and said other things I couldn’t understand. That threw me all the way off considering we were paying customers. For this being a CAFE where a lot of people study, work, and catch up with friends or whatever it was very unfriendly, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. Once we got our order and went back up to try and get the WiFi password no one was to be found in the front. I truly don’t understand why we were treated hostile when there was literally only one table filled with people other than that it was like a ghost town in this big cafe, but I can totally see why they weren’t busy when the staff or owner is treating people like this. I never leave a review on places and that goes to show just how bad this establishment is. It left me, my sister and her boyfriend uncomfortable. Definitely not a place I recommend not worth the money nor time. If I could leave zero stars I would!

Google
I usually don’t write reviews, but this experience was too strange not to mention. My friends and I visited this cafe, ordered several items, and were just trying to enjoy a quiet moment and homework. However, an older Korean lady who seemed to run the place came over and said, “Everyone has to buy something.” It was confusing because I had already bought multiple things in the same order. Her tone came off as rude and unnecessary it made the whole visit uncomfortable. The food and drinks were okay, but the service really left a bad taste. There are plenty of other cafes that treat their customers with a bit more respect, so I doubt I’ll be coming back.

Yelp
Their bingsoo is amazing! I got the misugaru (powder made from various grains) bingsoo and the shaved milky ice was so soft and just melted in your mouth. There are plenty of seats and tables available and the service was excellent. I will be back to try other flavors soon.
google avatar

Christy L.

Yelp
The taiyaki fish had little flavor, mostly just the taste of flour. The service was lacking; they simply brought out the taiyaki and called out our names without explaining which flavor was which, though we ordered vanilla and matcha how we suppose to tell. The hot chocolate was rich and tasty, but it wasn't hot at all. The atmosphere was quiet, but the cleanliness left much to be desired, as 6 out of 10 tables were not clean, and we noticed dirty liquid stains on the surfaces.

Yelp
I stopped at Cafe Clover for some evening dessert. The cafe is open all day and offers a great variety of both food and beverage options. The interior is decorated well and has ample seating areas. I ordered a Vanilla Ice Cream Taiyaki. The employees let me know that it would be about 10 minutes since they were making a fresh batch of taiyaki. It ended up being about 25 minutes, which I thought was a bit long. Regardless, the Taiyaki looked and tasted delicious. It had a great balance of a crispy outer layer and soft interior. I had a decent experience at Cafe Clover. My dessert quality was good and compared well to what I've tried elsewhere. This place has a great variety of options, so I can see myself returning when I'm in the area again.

Yelp
We got the strawberry shaven milk ice. It was pretty big and can definitely split between 4. It is packed with strawberries and the ice is flavored so it isn't bland. The red bean is pretty sweet. Towards the bottom we were surprised with extra pieces of mochi and strawberry jam. Overall, it was delicious and would highly recommend! Cafe Clover is conveniently located in the same plaza as HMart and Dubu. It's the perfect spot to stop at for dessert or to grab a coffee. It's pretty spacious and quiet. Plenty of tables to work at & free WiFi. They seemed to have rebranded again.

Yelp
A very nice date spot or hang out for friends. Korean Cafe with bingsu, taiyaki, smoothies and espresso coffees. Great avocado smoothie and strawberry lemonade! Iced taiyaki was delicious!

Yelp
My 2 friends and I ordered matcha here and it was so yummy! I got a tad nervure at first as the color wasn't as green as I expected, but the texture and taste were spectacular!
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
Bingsu is a must! Really soft snow and perfect amount of sweet for me. Mangos were crazy good, perfectly ripe! Condensed milk on the side so you can adjust sweetness as you wish. Pretty smart. I just wish mochi bits were on top instead of hidden on the bottom though. Plenty of seating and nice, clean interior. Staff were helpful answering our questions.

Yelp
Each time I come here I leave with a good customer experience. EXCEPT for this time. I called ahead to order because I was extremely busy. I'm a college student trying to get everything done, and I didn't have much time to spend, so I called ahead. I call ahead to order and when the girl taking my class asks what time I would be coming, I say "maybe 20-25 minutes". Most of the time I order, I wait like 15-20 minutes for a pastry. A good day is 10 minutes, and I've once waited 30. The time I wait doesn't really matter to me because I want what I order, so it's okay to wait. But I didn't have time to waste so I thought it would be a good idea to call ahead. Immediately I'm shocked. I asked to order, gave my order, and I am met with laughing. She says she'll wait till I get closer to make the order, but she can't hide her laughing. Literally anything she said after I said I'd be maybe 20-25 minutes, she speaks and laughs. I'm not sure how to deal with this because I've quite honestly never once had an interaction where I am ordering and the person taking me is laughing at me. So I just ignore it and pretend that she isn't just laughing at me. This is a horrible customer service. Like I don't know if she was having a really good day where she forgot how to treat customers or what. I ALWAYS have great service provided when I call ahead, but this time was disappointing. Aside from that one awful interaction, the cafe is great and the food is good. Even though I am somewhat far, I come occasionally. I would rate it 4 stars, but this interaction ruined my day in all honesty.

Yelp
Great spot to sit and chat with a friend or even get work done! It's a pretty quiet and relaxed atmosphere and the staff is always so friendly. My favorite drink here is the Jeju Hanlabong hot tea. It's sweet and flavorful - if you like citrus, definitely give this a try! The cinnamon roll and the coffee cake are tasty as well. The breakfast sandwiches aren't bad, but I've had better. I think it's the roll they use that I don't love. Overall, great spot to visit for a relaxed vibe and good tea!

Monica H.

Yelp
Great shaved ice. I had the strawberry cheese cake and it was so good it literally melts in your mouth. It had pieces of cheese cake and strawberry around it. It was very pretty too. So we came with a group of 4 and they were about to close literally in like 15 mins. They took our ordered and they didn't rush us. We literally finished it in 10 mins and stayed 2 mins passed closing. It's a pretty decent place to hang out and have conversations.
google avatar

Benicia B.

Yelp
The store advertises opening at 11 AM, but when we arrived right on time, the door was still closed. We stood outside in the cold, clearly visible to the staff, who made no effort to open the door--even 10 minutes past the posted opening time. This place lacks respect for its customers. I recommend visiting Tous Les Jours in Elkins Park instead for better food, service, and ambiance.
google avatar

Yia-Ming L.

Yelp
Really good Bingsoo (Korean shaved ice (diary based)) spot close to Philly! They offer so many good flavors, there is something for everyone. In addition to Bingsoo, they offer taiyaki and western desserts like cake and cheesecake. Vibe is really chill. You can definitely come here with a group of friends to hang out or come by yourself with your laptop to do work. There's ample of parking spots in the shopping center lot right outside.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Cute spot to stop in for dessert after dubu! Their Taiyaki flavors are unique and made to order
google avatar

Laureen Y.

Yelp
We ordered mango milk snow, strawberry& mango milk snow, sampler taiyaki pack (cookie, nutella banana, red bean, and vanilla custard). For a dessert I feel like it was pricey. 1pc of taiyaki is already $5. The milk snow was delicious and cookie taiyaki. The guy that took our order was rude. They had a lot of seating and area in the back is nice. Great for people to hangout/ do homework/ read etc.

Caleb D.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place the works are nice and the desserts and coffee are delicious.
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
Taiyaki here is so good! They made it fresh and it came out HOT! Vanilla custard is a solid choice. We got the matcha too but the vanilla is still better in terms of flavor. We got two for 3 of us. I think if you got one and shared it, it would be enough. They're not super sweet either which makes it perfect for us
google avatar

Julia Y.

Yelp
Korean shaved ice (bingsu) is the perfect refreshing cold treat. The matcha cheesecake flavor is decorated with delicious cheesecake, crispy wafer cookies, little chewy mochi, fluffy whipped cream, and a big scoop of creamy matcha gelato on top. The strawberry red bean shaved ice with mochi is also super yummy. Not pictured here, but the tiramisu one is also amazing. All of them come with a side of sweetened condensed milk for you to drizzle on top.
google avatar

Limi L.

Yelp
This is a cute cafe for desserts after a meal or a place to just simply relax. The menu has a wide variety of dessert options from coffee to milk tea, shave ice to taiyaki. I got the regular milk tea, taiyaki, and bingsoo which is shaved ice with ice cream and mango. I would recommend the bingsoo of all the items I got as the portion is huge and I don't find a lot of places around that serve bingsoo. The service was good and the food came out at a reasonable time. I didn't have to wait long.

Yelp
Amazing little cafe with some bakery products and drink selections. I cannot believe they make Yuzu drink here omg, if you never had it you best come here to try it, it's a Japanese lemon drink that's hard to find in America. I didn't get to try their other products yet but they got teas and coffees. The inside looks really cute like a Korean cafe, with books and games. They have nice clean bathrooms for customers to use

Lena R.

Yelp
Cozy Space. Delicious Desserts. Clean. Cafe Clover offers a warm & cozy aesthetic to complement its desserts' icy deliciousness. A wonderful place to socialize, as well as study. Clean and well-managed. While I don't enjoy the coffee here, the alternative beverages are tasty. Amiable clientele. Family-friendly. Welcoming.
google avatar

Qin Z.

Yelp
The inside is beautifully done. Gives a great cafe vibe! Lots of places to sit and places to study, but it can get a bit noisy so bring some noise cancelling headphones if you want to study. Great place for hanging out. We got the tiramisu shaved ice bowl. It was delicious even in this chilly weather. The ice cream matched well with the tiramisu flavor. The shaved ice was light and fluffy and melts easily in your mouth. The best part is you can take your time eating this because nothing melted. The ice cream barely melted either. It's a great combination of flavor and textures. The best part was it wasn't too sweet. The tiramisu could have been better. Flavor wise it hits those tiramisu notes, but it could definitely use a more time defrosting as it was basically a brick. Overall amazing place, great prices, and delicious food.

Yelp
Hello, today I adventured out to cafe clover! When i walked in i was immediately hit with nostalgia. I came here as a youngster and I have now returned. It definitely lived up to my expectations from what I remembered. The food was simple yet delicious. I devoured that avocado toast as you can see in the photo above. This is such a cute little cafe, I definitely recommend! The chai latte was average. The matcha boba was creamy and had the perfect ratio of matcha, it wasn't too overpowering. The mango smoothie is refreshing and filled my mouth with delight. There was only one person working there with many orders, so props to them!
google avatar

Veronica K.

Yelp
Because it's next to H-Mart (and I end up at H-Mart a lot) I find myself frequenting this cafe often. While I usually get bubble tea of some sort, this is not a bubble tea speciality shop, so you won't have an endless menu of boba and milk options to sort through. They have ice cream, cookies and shaved ice. Try the shaved ice (bingsoo), it's so incredibly tasty! It can feed a lot of people too, so don't attempt it by yourself. I had the strawberry bingsoo and it was packed full of strawberries and red beans, so even though it's expensive you'll get a lot for the money. I like this place as an all around dessert and beverage shop, and it's a great addition to the area.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Dessert was great! Got the green tea and cheesecake bingsu. The bingsu was nice and cold but not like regular shaved ice - it had a milk flavor essence to it! 10/10 was great. Service was quick and the ambiance was a café with lots of cute seating!

Valerie T.

Yelp
Perfect place to grab dessert here after a meal at Dubu!! Hands down the best Korean shaved ice in the city, I've tried a few flavors and have not been disappointed. It is a little pricy but the portion size is generous and definitely enough to share between 2+ people. Will definitely be back to try out more flavors!
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
If you are in the mood for some good dessert then you must come to Cafe Clover. Any sweet tooth cravings will be fulfilled by here. My recommendations to go with the shaved ice. Can never go wrong with that. Or go with just flaky warm fluffy taiyaki. Or if you want to go a step further....get the taiyaki with ice cream on top. If this place doesn't satisfied your dessert cravings then I don't know what will.

Yuting S.

Yelp
I grew up coming here all the time, I love their menu and the setting. I always feel homey and warm being in there so obviously knowing so it became my go to cafe, I usually go for getting work done but recently i picked up the hobby of crocheting. So yesterday, i called up a few friends so we could chill and crochet in the back and were probably there for 2 hrs and 30 mins. We had ordered like 3 separate times. We gotten a medium maple macchiato, a large chai, and lastly two taiyakis. Coincidentally, as we were debating whether or not to finish off with the mango bing-su some rude man approached our table. Mind you there's many tables in this establishment and i can tell you there were 3 around us that were empty. He said to us "You guys have been here all day and have ordered nothing, people want to sit in the back." Obviously this is no way to approach any customer paying or not, you should obviously approach with a question or being reasonable. Due to our anger we left, we were saddened because this was a cafe we grow up using but now will no longer visit because whoever is managing that establishment was rude. We did stick up for ourselves before leaving and saying we did pay, as our receipt was the only evidence remaining on the table (we were so kind to have cleaned up after ourselves, i guess no trace of purchase was seen) No apology after we had proof, instead he just asked us to sit at the front. There were so many other people next to us, there was even a guy by himself that came before us already there (no drink or order on table either) and he didnt even speak to him. Word of advice if you dont want to be kicked out, just keep a laptop on the table even if you aren't using it lmao. I was also planning on giving one star, but since the workers were nice (two young girls & the young gentleman; not the cranky old man) I gave them an extra star.

Yelp
Tasty matcha green tea w/bubbles. My friend got the coconut bubble tea and did not recommend it. Other friends got mango bubble tea and thought it was ok. Mango smoothie was okay. Niece got the fish cone with chocolate ice cream...she loved it. Overall B rating.

Yelp
Came here on multiple occasions. Nice ambiance, open tables, spacious parking lot. On Feb 7, 2023 at 2:02 pm, I had ordered a small caramel macchiato. No biggie. Person in front of me ordered a drink and sandwich and got it within 8 minutes. I waited 22 minutes for a small drink. There were two workers and seems like one was in training. I understand coffee shops tend to be busy but it was a simple drink that could've been made in two minutes (as they did eventually). I had sat in front of them and had a feeling they didn't know. I asked them politely how much longer it would be and they stated that they had forgotten when they asked what I ordered, what size, hot or cold. Ok. Other trips were fine, tables were somewhat dirty but drinks came out within five minutes. Nothing against the employees, just super disappointed this time around.

Yelp
Not many places sell delicious taiyaki in and out of Philly, not to mention a variety of Japanese-Korean-Chinese desserts (I'm eying you next, mango snow ball mountain...) There's also a lot of hot or iced drinks to choose from. This time around, I popped by for the gelato taiyaki combo: custard cream on the bottom of the fish shaped "cone" and coffee gelato on top. It was a piece of nostalgic heaven. FYI, remember to bring cash if you're spending less than $10. There's a minimum to use card. The cafe is clean, open, and the staff were very friendly. I saw several people working inside on their laptops as it's a chill and quiet place to concentrate. HMart is just across the parking lot, and the cafe is right next to Dubu and Sangkee. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
Love their bingsoo, and the interior is always clean. A nice spot for dessert, studying, or a casual meet-up! All of the flavors of shaved ice are delicious, but I had the strawberry cheesecake shaved ice (shaved milk ice) and it was perfectly sweet! They give you a side of condensed milk to pour over it but I decided not to use it because it was just sweet enough. Little bits of Mochi are hidden underneath too. Definitely share this with a friend unless you have a massive sweet tooth or appetite.
google avatar

Vivian E.

Yelp
Very chill area to do homework and study during the day. The ice cream taiyaki is a favorite, with red bean. Shaved ice is loaded with toppings and is really good to share with others. The workers are very nice free wifi ! Bubble tea is not my favorite here but the ice cream desserts never disappoint!
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
Had to come here when I heard they had bingsu or shaved ice. My friends and I got the strawberry one and it was not that bad. I was not displeased or amazed. This shaved ice did not seem as good or refreshing as the ones in Korea. The service and atmosphere is good and there is alot of open and semi private spacing. I would come back if my friends would be down. Overall: 3 Food: 3 Service: 3 Price: 3 Atmosphere: 3
google avatar

Kelly T.

Yelp
Super cute place. I always see people hanging and chatting. I also see people getting work done on their laptops. I've tried the taiyaki and the snow ice here. Both were good. I like the cookies and creme ice cream. It doesn't taste like normal cookies&creme as it is much lighter tasting, but it is still very good. I always stop in after having dinner next door.

Yelp
had many of their bingsoo's, but now i pretty much settle for just a cup of coffee or their grapefruit slush. the bingsoo is good but nothing extraordinary, and it can get pretty sweet so i wouldn't recommend it when sharing between only two people. out of all the bingsoo's i had here, i'd say the mocha was my favorite because of the coffee shaved ice! their grapefruit and hallabong frozen drinks are also great as well! the only thing i would have to really say in disfavor is that they don't offer stamps on their punch card for anything other than drinks which makes no sense to me because the other items cost so much more than a drink!

Yelp
So happy I was finally able to make it here. Pretty much the only place locally I know of that does the taiyaki fish cone with ice cream. Taiyaki cone with red bean filling was delicious and ample amount of gelato flavors to choose from. Was in a chocolate mood but plenty of other "different" flavors. Would love to try some of the other Korean desserts they offer!

Yelp
Nice little cafe with a nice selection of desserts and other sweets. I went here with my cousins and got the ice taiyaki which was perfect for a hot summer day. I got it with the red bean filling and tiramisu ice cream, which was very rich and creamy. However, they also have a vanilla custard base which goes great with the taiyaki. We also got a slice of cheesecake which was so rich and flavorful. Definitely recommend coming here with family or friends to sit around and enjoy a wide variety of sweets!

Yelp
My favorite bingsu place. Great vibes and a great place to study as well. They have other options too, but my favorite is the tiramisu Milk Snow.

Yelp
Ugh... It was not what I was expecting! We were done eating lunch and I wanted dessert. My friend had suggested the taiyaki as we had it in different places. We got a red bean and a vanilla for $3 each with separate scoop of green tea ice cream. Although there were plenty of seats, the seats with the cushions were all sunk in. It was quite uncomfortable as I felt like I was sitting low on the ground. Our order took a bit longer since they were making it fresh. When it came out, it was nice and warm. The taiyaki was such a disappointment! I thought it was going to be light, crispy and crunchy with the filling inside. Instead, it was gooey, too sweet and chewy which was not what I wanted. The green tea ice cream was good though. Perhaps I will give it another try next time for the shaved ice.

Yelp
I've been CRAVING bingsu for the longest time and when I found this place on yelp I had to jump at the opportunity to try it! Its a little bit far out from Chinatown (where I usually eat) but it's well worth the drive! I got the strawberry snow ice/bingsu and my sister got a cookies and cream ice cream taiyaki. We got a beeper and sat down. There was a lot of seating when we got there but I can see how it might fill up easily so if you can, have someone in your party grab a table first. We ended up waiting a while for our order (about 30 min for bingsu and about 15 min more for the taiyaki). I'm not sure if this is typical. The bingsu was delicious! It was so big but not too heavy. I was surprised when I found out there was red bean, strawberries, and mochi under the ice. I don't usually like red bean so next time I'd get it without but it was very good either way. I was surprised we were able to finish up all of the bingsu given it's size (it's huge). I didn't get to try the ice cream but I had a bit of the taiyaki crust and that was also good. For those who haven't tried it, it taste like a cross between a crepe and a pancake. It's very light. My sister said her ice cream was very sweet and she wasn't the biggest fan but she did like the fish cone.

Yelp
My husband was in Philadelphia for work and stopped by Cafe Clover to pick up some dessert. He got the lemoncello cake and three of the stuffed fish cakes (nutella, matcha custard, red bean). The fish fakes were a little smaller than ones I have had at other places but soooo good. THe dough is a bit different because I think they use the delimanjoo batter, so sweeter and chewier. I loved the Matcha custard and will get at least two of those next time, but all of them were really good. THey are also good for later, you can just pop in the air fryer for a few minutes to warm them up.

Yelp
Really cute cafe near Hmart plaza with a variety of pastries, desserts and coffee! When you walk in, it seems like a place where you can hang out and work on stuff. The prices are pretty high though, especially with the bubble tea that costs around $5 (without the bubbles!). The shaved ice is worth it if you are sharing with a large group. We got the original that has red bean, some wheat powder and mochi on top. I would recommend trying some flavored ones, as the original is very plain. It was really nice that they gave us small cups and spoons to eat, since we were sharing with many people. We also got the taiyaki pastries which are in the shape of little fish and filled with yellow custard. It is not insanely sweet -- just the right amount, and it's so easy to eat lots of them since they are pretty small! Near the counter, they have a machine that you can watch that makes and fills these pastries. Also in the counter, there are some varieties of cheesecakes and pies that you can also order.

Yelp
When it's in season, the Mango Shaved Ice is unbeatable. Let's break it down: finely shaved ice (milky); fresh mangoes - and lots of them; a dollop of vanilla gelato; a side of condensed milk to drizzle to your liking; mochi balls; and mango drizzle. If you're taking out, they package it like an impeccable dessert to be hand delivered to the president. It's carefully and beautifully packed in a secure container, seated atop a bag of ice, with a side cup of condensed milk, and cups/spoons, if needed. I cannot recommend this place enough. This could be big enough for 3-4 people, but realistically, my husband and I always end up devouring it ourselves. Oh, and the staff are always sweet and attentive!

Yelp
Its that time of year for the fruit bingsoo! I had it last year and it was so amazing. I had it again this year and it was just like I remembered. My parents were so impressed by the photos we went out of our way during a trip to philly to go there We were not disappointed. The shaved ice looks like a dinner meal (dolsot bibimbop) but it's a fruit bingsoo! The kids loved the icecream and the fish cone (can't remember name). We got the fish pasteries with red bean and they were kind enough to serve it hot and fresh. It was amazing! I'm sure they use some sweet rice or mochi like flour inside. Chewy and toasty crunchy. Hope to have it again next year when we visit. photos on my phone, you can see the great things others already posted

Yelp
Note: I would give 3.5 but yelp doesn't give 0.5. I came back here to study. There were ample tables but very few outlets. The bubble tea I ordered was pretty good. I accidentally ordered tapioca with my bubble tea (I normally don't) but I was pleasantly surprised with the chewiness of the tapioca and I didn't mind it. One thing I didn't like was that after an hour or so, I couldn't connect to the wifi - I wasn't sure if it was just my computer, phone and tablet or if there was a time limit. Either way, food was good but I wouldn't really recommend this cafe to study.

Yelp
Last time I came to Clover Cafe I had to leave without taiyaki since the establishment stops making fresh fish shaped waffles 30 minutes to an hour before closing for the night. No biggie. That just gave me another reason to come back. Today I ordered the vanilla cream taiyaki plus coffee ice cream. Such a cute and tasty sweet treat on a summer day. Outfitted with a skewer of gummy candy with a couple choc pocky sticks (my childhood fave snack), you can't go wrong. Looking forward to trying the taiyaki with green tea ice cream on my next visit.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try the ice tayaki for a while now, and I finally got it today. I got it with vanilla custard and and Nutella ice cream. It was dressed up with pocky sticks and some jelly sugar candy. It was delicious and I'd definitely come back to try more flavors. This is the only place I've been able to find taiyaki in Philly. I've been here a few times before for coffee and pastries and I haven't been disappointed yet. Service is great here. There is WiFi (the password will be on the bottom of your receipt) and plenty of seating if you want to sit and study, but it does tend to get pretty crowded and loud on weekends.
