Delicious Breakfast and Outstanding Service Cafe Con Leche in Chicago was a great start to the day. The food was excellent, the space was clean and organized, and the overall vibe was welcoming and relaxed. We ordered the breakfast burritos with turkey sausage and they were flavorful, fresh, and very filling. Everything came out quickly and was clearly made with care. The staff really stood out. Everyone was attentive, kind, and genuinely friendly without being overbearing. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and a place I would absolutely come back to. Highly recommend if you are looking for a solid breakfast spot with great service.

I was a big fan of this spot. We started our meal with a marg pitcher which struck a nice balance of strength and tastiness. Next was an order of the queso fundido with some chorizo mixed in. The queso came out right away and was accompanied by warm tortillas which were soft but durable. A great start to dinner! For my entree I got some al pastor tacos with a side of Mexican rice and beans. The tacos were incredible! The pork was flavorful and maintained a juicy interior despite the crispiness of the exterior. And the accompaniments - onions, cilantro, and lime wedges - were generously portioned. Look at the size of those lime wedges! This would have been worth the normal menu price, but since we ate during happy hour the tacos were just $7 - a veritable steal!! Overall I thought this was a great restaurant experience. Delicious food served quickly by friendly staff - what more can you ask for?

Cafe Con Leche — 5/5 all around! Everything about this experience was amazing. We started with the ceviche and it was incredibly fresh, light, and full of flavor. It paired perfectly with the tortilla chips and was such a great way to start the meal. For drinks, I had the El Ilegal mixed drink and it was perfectly balanced, not too spicy, not too strong, and not overly sweet. The chamoy and mango purée complemented each other so well. Honestly one of the best-balanced cocktails I’ve had in a while. For my entrée, I ordered the salmon and it was grilled perfectly with a beautiful crust on the outside. The mashed potatoes were to die for, creamy, umami-packed, well seasoned, and with just the right amount of spice. The spinach helped balance out the richness of the potatoes really nicely, making the dish feel hearty but not overwhelming. Overall, the food easily deserves a top score. I did happen to find a few pin bones in my salmon, but that didn’t take away from the experience. The incredible food, attentive service, and great ambience more than made up for it. Our servers were very attentive and welcoming, and I would absolutely come back and recommend this place to others. Can’t wait to return!

DO NOT MISS THE HAPPY HOUR! We were absolutely thrilled to find FULL SIZE PORTIONS on the Happy Hour menu! $7 food selections, $7 cocktails, $4 draft beer! We ordered the Nachos, the Carne Asada Tacos, and the Ceviche. The tacos were STUFFED with meat! The Flan was INCREDIBLE!! Our server Victor, was just absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and knowledgeable! A pleasure to have them helping us! Excellent experience in all ways, we WILL be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Delicious food, great service and took advantage of the Happy hour with many options for $7, including margaritas.! Coconut margarita was delicious and Pastor tacos too. We'll be back.!

Best chilaquiles in the city! Their sauce is sweet with a hint of spice, bold flavors, and the tortilla chips are crispy with a crunch as you take a delicious bite. The French toast is sweet and tasty!

We came in on a cold February morning and were greeted with sunshine and warmth! We came for breakfast and were instantly taken care of by a multitude of staff, they made us feel welcome. Our food was delicious. I had the Papas con Chorizo and it was great. Those potatoes had so much flavor. We also got a breakfast burrito and it was about the size of a small baby. It was more than enough food for us. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Go visit!

Cafe Con Leche was an outstanding experience! The restaurant is warm and inviting. Even though it was busy, we were seated quickly, served right away, and our waiter checked in often. Our food came out impressively fast—we had the breakfast burritos and loved them. We also spotted someone with the mimosa kit (a bottle of champagne and orange juice for $35), and couldn’t resist ordering one ourselves. It was great quality and made the meal even more fun. Highly recommend this place!

First, a must try is the Cafe Con Leche. Delicious coffee. The Bistec Encebollado was excellent. Marinated steak, onions, sweet plantains, rice & beans. Everything on the dish complimented each other. I believe this is located in downtown Logan Square. I'm not sure... anyhow, most of the group were able to park on the street.

service was really good, everyone we interacted with was really attentive and kind. the restaurant itself is a cute intimate layout, the music was a little too loud so it kinda felt like you had to speak loudly to be heard. as for food, i had the chilaquiles verdes, they were okay. the tostadas were soggy so there wasn't a lot of crunch going on there and the salsa didn't have a particularly great flavor. the beans and rice on the other hand were really good, the rice wasn't dry and had a nice black peppery taste to it. additionally i had the apple cider, it had a nice fermented flavor to it, like a non-fizzy kombucha, definitely tasted like it was made from real apples!

It's 7 of us with my mom - I had to sit her down - I didn't know we all had to be present - we Just arrived and because parking here in the northside is always a mess we brought my mom in first while my sister went to find parking. They should make an exception for the elder. For now I am giving it a 2 star. I'll update it. UPDATE: We got seated - Baly, the Hostess was kind and our waiter is Miguel and he came with a nice smile that's important to me. He took our drink order. So so far service is not bad . To be continued... The ambiance in the back seating area was ok but could have a little more more breeze it got a little hot.

This is a review solely for the pickip/ takeout experience. EVERY single time I place an order for pickup for a simple coffee, with 15 min advance notice, I arrive and it is never reafy, have not even started preparing it... which....DEFEATS the whole purpose of ordering ahead...I can understand if I have a complicated order but no, it's just coffee..I can also understand if it happens once, but this has been my experience the last 4 times... no apology either..

First time here. Sat at the bar while waiting for my party. Ordered Sangria and it was pretty delicious. The vibe was very nice as well loved the open windows and the street view. The food came in a large portion, I had an appetizer as my main course. Chicken flautas are my favorite and I was really impressed the way it was presented as well as how it tasted. Can't wait to be back to try other dishes on the menu.

In town for the weekend, came here for brunch. Ordered the ceviche which was served with saltine crackers... the ceviche is pretty decent, adding some fresh juice from a lemon helped to balance the flavors. They have pretty nice chips, they should serve ceviche with that instead of the crackers, it certainly helps balance the flavors and not overly salty. I enjoyed the coffee, has a very nice flavor- just basic coffee, cream, and sugar. This was the highlight. Two of us ordered the Chaquiles: 1 ranchero with poached egg 1 steak verde The ranchero one had a nice flavor, though I don't prefer runny eggs. The steak chaquiles was flavorless and the verde sauce didn't really help that! I was hopeful about the Valentina hot sauce thinking it might help, but not really This dish is definitely overpriced. The breakfast burrito looked pretty good though the person that ordered it said it was overfilled with egg. The potatoes that came with it were pretty good, I enjoyed the flavor, paired well with the Valentina sauce. Service was ok. Took quite a while to have my coffee refilled. The waiter would walk away so abruptly, I needed more cream. I asked for a straw and they did bring ONE... mind you I was not dining alone. The ambiance is cool, Latin American music played, we had great conversation. Now a few things to note, gratuity is charged for parties of 3 or more, PLUS a convenience fee AND 4% for using a credit card. Yuck! That's a lot of fees, on top of moderate to high prices. I rely on reviews to help guide my choices for dining and I feel mislead by the high reviews this place has. Out of 3 people the vote went like this (4, 3, 3) I don't think I would dine here again.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! The sandwiches are HUGE and delicious! Ordered the Cubano and the Ropa Vieja, the Ropa Vieja was our favorite for sure. The sandwich is big enough to share or save for later and considering the size and taste I think it's a bang for your buck. Service was also great, we didn't have to wait long for a table and we went around 1.

We came in on a Sunday morning and were able to be seated immediately in their outdoor patio. The brunch menu has a good variety of options ranging from American standards (pancakes, French toast, eggs with sausage) to more Latin items like tortas, chilaquiles, etc. we opted for the latter; the coffee came out quickly, but the food took some time given it was breakfast food. It arrived at our table lukewarm at best, but the overall flavors were good and the portion sizes were generous. Overall I'd say it was a good experience!

Stopped in for breakfast on a rainy Saturday morning. We were sat right away and I got a cafe con leche, husband got cafe americano, which is regular coffee. I got the chilaquiles verdes w avocado, and an order of maduros, husband got the Denver omelette. The food was all delicious and hearty. The chilaquiles were so huge, i took home a huge leftover box. I esp liked the maduros and rice&beans. The cafe con leche was also lovely. Service was great, although it was oddly hot in there(temperature-wise). i wanna come back for dinner soon! There's pretty easy street parking, which is nice.

This place always exceeds our expectations! Cafe Con Leche is one of our favorite restaurants because of the freshness and high-quality food they produce and the incredible traditional flavors. Everything tastes amazing! From the appetizers to sandwiches, to their main dishes and desserts and the vibe is super chill! We ordered the Ceviche and it was like a piece of art, and tasted like Zeus himself prepared this dish. Zesty and fresh and the seafood was perfectly balanced. We have had five of the nine sandwiches offered, and they were all fantastic! ... but the Ropa Vieja sandwich / dinner are my faves! The Tampiqueña was phenomenal! A great cut of meat in a very healthy portion will satisfy your appetite. Their breakfast menu is also amazing, try the steak and eggs or the Chilaquiles. Yummm! Their bartenders are artists! They make the greatest cocktails. You must try the tamarind old-fashioned. Wow! All in all always happy to go and sad to leave, but will continue to visit often. See you there!

We booked a table for 10 at Cafe con Leche for family visiting from out of town. Overall, our experience was just fine. Food was decent, not great. Service was a little awkward, with multiple miscommunications and long periods of time without a visit. Ambiance was forgettable. There are so many delicious Latino restaurants in Chicago! This was just decent.

Delicious jibaritos and rice and beans. Always a classic and the service is always great. I always come with my parents. Its always nice and dim inside and you feel cozy and taken care of.

Wonderful venue with great outside seating and parking in the back. The service is phenomenal. I absolutely loved the breakfast burrito, potatoes, and the french fries. Their coffee is also excellent. I highly recommend.

Stopped by for dinner on a Monday night. They were a little busy but we were seated right away (no reservations made). The customer service was excellent and drinks/ food came out fairly quickly. The pollo fajitas were absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! One of the best I've ever had!!! The chicken was well seasoned and the veggies were sautéed very well. The passion fruit margarita was also really good. We will definitely go back to this restaurant when in the area and highly recommend this to others.

An EXCELLENT brunch spot, for the large portions, speedy service, and delicious food!! All of this combined makes it a great hangover meal on a Saturday morning :D we walked in around 11am on a Saturday and were seated immediately. There's plenty of indoor and back patio seating so even though there were lots of people dining, there wasn't a wait. Between my partner and me we ordered two dishes and wowww the portions are big! Such a deal considering the quality and price of the food! Highly recommend the chilaquiles with chorizo and avocado. Don't skip these add ons, because this chorizo is some of the best I have had at a brunch spot. The avocado balances out this protein heavy meal! The flavors are rich and the different textures of the crunchy tortilla chips with the soft and saucy tortilla chips and the creamy avocado and egg yolk....wow. We also had the ropa vieja (steak), which came with a side of beans and rice and a plantain! It was all delicious! We ended up taking some of it to go because we were both so full. I will definitely be back!

This was our second visit to Cafe con Leche. It's always been a great experience. We sat outdoors. Since their tent has sides, it can be loud. Of course, that's fine unless you don't like noisy restaurants. Their food is amazingly consistent. Cafe Americano: oh my - the size of the cup is enormous. It was also very good. Chilaquiles Verdes: Two of us ordered Chilaquiles - this was also an enormous meal. Delicious, slightly spicy, the salsa verde was amazing. But it was so large, I barely finished half the meal. The rest will be breakfast tomorrow . Vegetable Sandwich: big and fantastic. I'm not a vegetarian, but my mother is. She also doesn't eat a lot at one sitting. We took one half of her meal home. Ropa Viella: this was the only meal finished at our table. I didn't get to taste it but the review was as good as anything else above. I can't end this without mentioning the service. Everyone we encountered was super nice and very accommodating. It was a pleasure to eat here.

Cute place, especially with the holiday decor adding extra sparkle. The food was very good. We had the chips and salsa, cauliflower tacos, cochinita pibil, and crepes for dessert. Our entrees were great, very tasty and well prepared. The chips and salsa are not worth the price. They're fine, but no better than what you get for free at every other Mexican restaurant. The dessert was good. The service was attentive.

Shout out to Cafe Con Leche for having breakfast available on Sundays til about 4pm! I came here immediately after finishing the Chicago Marathon this year because I wanted some breakfast food, as it is my favorite meal of the day. Well unfortunately, around 3pm there aren't many options available for breakfast unless you want to hit up a run of the mill diner. I wanted something more than that. This was a celebration meal! I looked around Logan Square because a friend we met up with lives there, so Cafe con Leche was amongst the top place to appear in my search. Okay let's go! We walk in, the place is half empty half filled. Perfect! We order our food, I get this incredible cafe con leche in the biggest mug ever. I'm glad it was so big cause I didn't want that drink to end. I had the steak and eggs which single handedly brought me back to the living world. The steak was so good! I know they have a lunch menu too so next time I come I need to try that. It's a bit embarrassing how this was my first ever time at this restaurant but they gave me such a lasting impression that I'm ready to go back soon!

A famous local restaurant that has been here for ages, and has maintained its latin roots through all the change in the area. Good for a more upscale evening out, or a celebration. The Jibarito was good, and not as greasy as other restaurants which can be pleasant. Mojito was strong, and their seasonal pumpkin tart was sweet. The staff were nice and quick. Small area so can be cramped when busy during the winter.

Awesome Latin American food here!! Highly recommend the Chilaquiles!! Soo good! Not to miss- definitely have the con leche as a beverage!! Service is pretty fast! Ambience is decent. Nothing fancy at all. Definitely give them a try!!

Place was bustling but we were seated right away. Service was good. I ordered a chorizo omelette, I couldn't really taste the chorizo in there. Also got Baileys with coffee. Soo good

We came for snacks and drinks and everything was great. We got flautas and empanadas and chips and salsa. As a result of the pitcher of passion fruit margaritas we forgot to try the flan but we had a great time, the service was excellent, and I'd definitely come back for it.

I am visiting from out of town and was looking for a good place for lunch and I was very happy to have found this place. The bistec sandwich was very good and flavorful. I love the fact that they serve fresh squeezed oj for the mimosas, it really does make a difference! The service was good especially for how busy they got. The ambiance is cozy and nice music. The staff worked together well to make sure the customers have everything they needed and gave smiles. I'm sad I have to leave Chicago but so happy I found this place

This place was actually incredible! Since being in Chicago, this has been my favorite restaurant. My friend and I started with their oat milk cappuccino which was so tasty and great presentation. I got the chilaquiles verdes and my friend got the breakfast burrito. We were both amazed by the freshness and quality of the food. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good breakfast spot in Logan Square!

Was super packed but worth the try. Loves the platano instead of panito. Made my meal much more memorable. Wish there was a tad more protein but still very tasty. The staff was nice and there is a lot of space if you are every arriving with big parties.

After a long day and night of waiting to meet our first grandchild at the hospital, my husband and I decided to find a nice restaurant to celebrate with a hearty breakfast. We found this charming restaurant. The wait staff was quick and friendly. The decor was modern, sleek and clean. The menu offered a variety of choices which should offer pleasure to any palette. We chose these dishes which which were rich in flavor and color for the eyes. Our food was quick, delicious and hot. My husband chose the chorizo omelette and I chose the croissant sandwich. Both were served with house potatoes. He had an espresso and I enjoyed a coffee latte. I would highly recommend this dining experience.

This my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago. Everything is so good all the food is great you can't go wrong with whatever you order. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is always busy. I'm a repeat customer with Cafe Con Leche.

Neighborhood legend. This place only gets better with age. Always buzzing with activity, plenty of happy guests enjoying great food and lots of smiles on the faces of the people doing the work. It's a well-run joint and the best part is you can trust it for breakfast lunch or dinner. Bravo team!!

It was Saturday evening around 7:30 pm no reservations were required and we were seated immediately. We ordered the sangria, empanadas, chicken enchiladas and a chicken sandwich. Everything I put in my mouth was well seasoned and flavorful. You could tell the chef was cooking with a purpose to make your meal memorable. The star of the meal was the empanadas and the Sangria. This place is amazing and would have received 4 stars if not for the poor service. The restaurant was not crowded but our wait staff was inattentive. We had to ask each time for her to come to our table for: silverware, a correction to what I ordered, to go boxes, to go bags and the check. Basically we were ignored the entire time we were there. This would be a great place for girlfriends night but I'm hesitant to try it again because I didn't like the service.

This place is big and has an outdoor patio. The service is great and food is delicious. I ordered the chorizo and avocado egg breakfast. Wow! This dish came with potatoes chorizo avocado and scrambled eggs. What a great mix. So tasty. The potatoes were so well seasoned. The Chorizo great flavor! I had to order the Cafe con leche since the place is called Cafe con leche. You get a big cup of the cafe con leche. It was very good. The food came really quick. The service was very good. I will be going back to try more of their food. Very good!!!!

I have been here twice and it is now officially my go to for quick and delicious breakfast, with super quick service, and lovely decorations inside. Consistently good food both times and huge portions that don't break the bank.

4% of convenient fee??!! Is that a staffs support like another restaurant? Nice and warm temperature inside the restaurant. Food is so delicious, so simple and tasty, like eating in Mexico. Tasty shrimp ceviche. Simple ingredients but fresh and same as empanadas. Pork chop pastor style and shrimp fajitas are amazing. Delicious cocktails and high-quality ingredients. Fast and intuitive services.

Out of towners who happened upon this spot on our way to the airport and could not be happier after stopping here! It was 10:30, and I couldn't decide if I was in the mood for breakfast or enchiladas, so "Cafe con Leche" - which advertised itself as a breakfast and lunch spot specializing in Latin faire - seemed like the obvious choice. It was! We started with 3 empanadas, one of each kind, with an especially perfect and punchy chimichurri dipping sauce. For mains, I caved for a before-noon enchilada (excellent choice), and my fiance opted for the breakfast torta with chorizo (equally excellent). Seriously we left so happy, and it was one of our best dining experiences of the entire trip - the happiest accident! Service was impeccable, coffee was also top notch, overall vibes were warm and welcoming. Stop here if you can!

Great food and amazing presentation but the surcharges turn me off from ever coming back. 20% for 3 people. 4% convenience fee for credit card. None of these details are on the main menu. Check out the side drink menu for this info lol. I have no problem paying for service ... just add it to the regular price of the food. All this nickel and dime charges took away from what could have been a great experience

I like this place it has good vibes and the food is delicious. I like the salads very fresh. I've tried the soups and the flautas. I have not been disappointed with anything! I would recommend, yummy!

Never had a bad time or bad service at Cafe con Leche! One of my go to's in Logan Square, I usually get the Jibarito, Caldo or Ropa Vieja! The food is delicious and the service is fast. Good for casual eats and family friendly. They also have happy hour Monday to Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm which features $7 Margaritas!! It's a cozy place and in the summer time there is outdoor seating in the back. There is free parking as well.

I was eager to try out this restaurant, especially after seeing the appetizing food pictures online. However, I found out that they have limited breakfast options and are inflexible about menu changes. I decided to order chilaquiles with eggs and steak, and while the meat was tasty, I wasn't a fan of the chilaquiles themselves. They were made with tortilla chips and the sauce had a somewhat sour taste. The latte I ordered was decent, and I also had some plantains with sour cream on the side. My sister got a torta, but it was made with French bread instead of the traditional torta bread. Overall, I felt that the food was a bit overpriced for the quality.

First time!!! Out with my daughter looking for brunch in Logan Square, we decided on Cafe con Leche. Very nice, clean small restaurant great service! I ordered a Cubano sandwich and my daughter ordered à breakfast burrito. My Cubano was great! Best Cubano sandwich that I have had in a long while. The pork was seasoned well and the bread was pressed so that the sandwich was easy to eat with a toasty taste! Bravo well done! I ordered the rice and beans instead of the fries because, hey it's a Cubano. The beans were seasoned well and even the white rice was Puerto Rican white rice. It held together had flavor and worked well with the beans! It was a big sandwich so I took half home. My daughter liked her breakfast burrito that had scrambled eggs with chorizo, beans, and rice. She saved half because it was so big. We had a cup of coffee and it was good, fresh and it came in a nice big cup. I like that! Bravo to them. We didn't feel rushed and had time to talk. We will be back and I want to try the ropa vieja next time!!!

Got brunch whit my friend We got cafe con leche Chilaquiles Maduros Ropa vieja and crepes All good except the chilaquiles not authentic I'm pretty sure they use tortilla chips not real fry tortillas if you are Mexican you understand they also was cold..... Evrething else was good See you next time

Honestly the food all tasted the same and not in a good way. I felt embarrassed having picked this place to meet a friend because we felt the server constantly trying to hurry us up even when he saw she clearly wasn't done with her food.

We had the Pappas con chorizo and the cubano. Food and service was great. They also enclosed and heated their patio so they can serve more people. Definitely recommend this place.

I finally got to check out dinner at Cafe Con Leche and they continue to impress. I would like to give a shout out to the Empanadas. The smoked steak tacos where amazing. This place is never a bad choice

The chorizo avocado omelet with chihuahua cheese is my favorite. I would visit here every time I'm in the area because it's that good. Staff is always great and friendly. It's a busy place so you may wait but it's worth it. Seating is a little cozy. It's imperative that you order a cafe con leche.

I've been to Cafe con Leche many times for breakfast and their breakfast burrito is a fave. Recently I went for lunch and had a delicious jibarito. Service was very speedy and the waiter was so attentive - they even ran out after I left to give me my credit card I left! Such a staple of logan square. Also- best salsa for topping on anything you get!
