We really loved our meal here. The service was exemplary, the food made from scratch, was delicious, as was the coffee. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles and biscuits and gravy. I rarely get to eat gravy out because of MSG, but these folks do it from scratch and I was one happy lady!!

I had a wonderful breakfast at Cafe Eclectic this morning. My waiter was very attentive and nice. The food was very good and fast. My London Fog was so delicious! I'm just sad I haven't stopped by sooner.

Google
Came here for breakfast and weren't disappointed. The food was good, coffee was okay and enjoying the sunshine on the terrace was the icing on the cake. I've never had biscuits before - and these here were some amazing ones! Unfortunately, our waitress forgot to bring us a cinnamon roll that we ordered. This café is conveniently located close to the Memphis Zoo, and not too far away from downtown, either. Give it a try!

My co-workers and I had breakfast. This restaurant is very fitting for the the name. I love this place. This is my go to breakfast spot. I will be going once a month when my daughter starts Rhodes. Diana was our server. She's amazing.

Google
Stopped by this place for breakfast after a recommendation. I will start by saying the parking can be tricky but we got a spot. In addition to that, when we visited it was crowded so there was a wait to be seated that lasted 10-15 minutes. I ordered the Whole 9 Yards plate which was 2 eggs, 2 biscuits, hash, and sausage. My son ordered the brioche French toast and eggs. In addition to the food, he ordered a hot chocolate and I ordered coffee and an apple cider. The food was good and the drinks were fantastic. The only reason I took off a star was the wait time and it seemed the workers were a little frustrated. Other than that, it was a fine visit and I would not hesitate stopping by again for a meal.

Google
Service was great. Got bagels and lox that came disassembled in to-go containers, which is fine, but I ate in the cafe, and for $13, they could at least put the cream cheese on the bagel I guess. Flies were all over my food, so maybe that was why? The wifi also didn't work on my phone or my tablet, so not ideal if you need to get any work done.

Google
This was a treat for me, I highly recommend it. My barista (Harrison) made this wonderful mocha latte for me and as you can see, it kept it's design to the very end

Google
Fun restaurant! Adorable coffee bar. The service is amazing. Loved the chocolate pumpkin muffin. I only tried the drip coffee, but I plan on going back to try one of their many specialty coffees. The brioche French toast was good, but cold. They have a wide selection of baked goods and I like that they support and source locally.

Yelp
This is a cute local business. We love a place that is accommodating of all dietary needs, especially places that serves vegans. The service was good and fast. The food was pretty good. Honestly, the chicken and waffles looked super boring but the chicken had probably the best crunch and texture I've ever had. I wish the waffle was a little bit thicker though. It was a bit warm inside and the fans weren't helping much. Even most of the servers walked around with neck fans. Overall a cute spot that's great for brunch/lunch.

Yelp
Bottom Line: Good food, southern style friendly service, calming,, un-corporate atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Don't come here for a speedy in and out, that's not what this place is about. Leave any high-filutin', corporate place influenced, intellectual expectations behind. Though they don't look like it, they are very close to an old school diner just minus the booths and shiny stainless steel. They are a very local, un-corporate coffee shop and restaurant. They've spent time getting permits to have a variety of seating types outdoors demonstrating their real commitment to this place. It was Southern hot--I sat inside. My server, also very un-corporate, was packed with slightly edgy, but distinct Southern charm--immediately likable. The food--well made, nothing spectacular but well made, hot, fresh. The coffee, straight up good with plenty of refill. They have vegan offerings as well if that's your cup. Prices are also un-corporate and that's a good thing. You may have to hunt a bit to find this place but it's worth it.

Yelp
This is my second time here, yesterday being my first! I came for a morning meeting, enjoyed "The Rachel Wrap" along with their potato hash and they were tasty dishes. This day, I got one of the omelettes, a pancake and a specialty coffee and I'm leaving Happily Satisfied & Full! The service is lovely and the people are kind. I enjoy this environment; it's hippy, it's homey, there's beautiful art everywhere, I can't wait to bring my family here to this restaurant. It's not Starbucks, not Dunkin, it's Café Eclectic. I haven't tried their lunch menu, yet, so I will be back!

Yelp
Oh. I so very much wanted to crush on this establishment. It featured many of the highlights I like. Items such as home baked pastries of unusual concept, local retail pottery, vintage style coffee bar, etc. Even the service was vibing. However, the score and love plummeted at the wrap when I was served my espresso drink and cold brew. I looked around to find the "condiment service table" and instead of helping myself immediately, I voiced my intent. The server said, 'she would add the cream (1/2 and 1/2) herself.' (Warning bells), I should have demurred and again insisted on self service. But, she'd been good up to that point. I acquiesced. The server took the cold brew OUT of SIGHT, instead of pouring in front me. When she returned I knew immediately it was not as I'd requested. I questioned whether she'd added cream. She replied yes, that she had. I then put the straw into my drink to verify by taste--that which I knew visually. Hmmm, I repeated my question and clarified, did she add "1/2 and 1/2?" She again repeated--she had. I know what 1/2 and 1/2 looks, tastes, and feels like in a cold brew. This was not that. Maybe, just maybe it was skim milk or the very most, 2%. Nothing more. Additionally, the beverage was watery. I'm horribly disappointed.

Yelp
We try to stop here for lunch every time we visit Memphis. The menu has a wide variety of items, all of which we find delicious. Today I tried the commander salad, which has fried chicken, grilled corn, and fresh avocado- delicious! The iced coffee and latte were refreshing. The staff are always super friendly.

Yelp
Café Eclectic definitely has a vibe. Its reminiscent of European cafes, but with an American twist. I will say that it can get busy outside with traffic during weekdays due to the neighboring school, but it's worth the trouble. I loved their pancakes. I made sure to prep them with plenty of syrup and butter. Also, their biscuit breakfast was super tasty with eggs. Warmed just right and ready to go. Their service was excellent and they know how to whip up a good coffee.

Yelp
I've heard good things about this place so I decided to bring a friend. Disclaimer, I'm neither a coffee nor a breakfast person, so please take my review with a grain of salt. My friend and I ordered some pretty random things to try out. I thought the Tiramisu coffee drink sounded sweet. I love Tiramisu. I did not love this drink. I went out on a limb and tried the gia omelette with salmon in it. I was also not a fan of this. My friend's food was fine but not memorable for her. To be honest, nothing really stuck out to make me want to come all the way out here again to try anything else. Try Creme Brulatte Cheddar Jalapeno Biscuit Ok: - DrinkL Tiramisu - French Toast - Omelette: The Gia - Side: Taters Hash

Yelp
This is my favorite Sunday brunch place in Memphis. It has a more peaceful atmosphere than most breakfast spots and it is easier to enjoy conversation. Great to go with family, friends, or boyfriend :) The food is filling but light, very enjoyable. My go to is the chicken biscuit. Their drink menu is so much fun as well. The service was great.
google avatar

Kleopatra G.

Yelp
I really dig this spot. They have a lot of different options for breakfast & lunch. I'm not even a coffee drinker but the creme brulee latte was delicious. I ordered waffle and turkey sausage. My waffle was a little underdone, as you can tell by the color. My niece's chicken biscuit was good and she enjoyed it. The grits were surprisingly tasty. Service was good, no complaints there. There was no wait on a Sunday morning and there is plenty of parking.

Yelp
I've skipped over this place several times to go other local places. Today, Tuesday, I had a break in my work schedule to get something to eat. I placed an order for a single sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit to-go at 9:53am. At this time, the crowd was less than overwhelming. After several minutes of standing and reading the same menu items over and over, at 10:24 I get a lukewarm sandwich with somewhat of a burnt after taste and fairly dry biscuit. I can see a 30 min wait for a complex menu item in a busy restaurant, but this was not the case. Probably just rambling at this point, but a man cant even get a napkin with a jellied sandwich. I had to use my shirt.

Yelp
We placed a 2-go order through the toast website as soon as they opened, because we started driving @4am and still had 7 hours to go. Got to the cafe about 20 minutes later. WE STOOD AT THE FRONT FOR 7 MINUTES before anyone even greeted us!! (4+ workers behind the counter). It took an additional 35 minutes for them to bring us our food and drink (after already ordering 20+ minutes prior). My latte was $7 and tasted like burnt coffee, horrible. My husband's eggs and bacon were COLD. I'll admit though, my vegan pancake was DELICIOUS! We went there for the vegan options and ordered ahead so we could save time. We have 2 kids under 3 and had to wait for so long. I did see 4 other people stand there and wait 5 minutes + to even be spoke to, and even wait over 10 minutes for a drink! Not friendly. Not efficient.

Yelp
This establishment has 2 outdoor seating areas, a patio and a deck area. We sat on the deck under a tree in the shade which was nice. Our server was attentive and happy, which makes the experience enjoyable! We ordered the sunny tater hash and Rachel's breakfast wrap. The only reason for not 5 stars was that the wrap was missing the bacon that should be included. It needed the bacon for salt and texture. Our coffees were absolutely divine and perfect drinking temperature.

Yelp
We tried to visit this restaurant last year but it was closed the day we were in Memphis so we were excited to try it this year. We made reservations in advance through their site. We were immediately seated when we arrived. We had a great waitress who was super energetic. For coffees, we got a Carmel latte and a mocha latte. They were very small compared to what we expected and they were strong in flavor. The mocha tasted like a really dark chocolate so I didn't love it as much as other mochas I've had. For our meal, we ordered Nutella and banana stuffed French toast, Grits with cheese, lemon blueberry scone, and a Lil Eclectic Biscuit (bacon, egg and cheese). It was a very filling meal. The scone arrived first and it was served warmed. It was amazingly soft and flavorful! The French toast had the perfect amount of Nutella. I dislike when restaurants over stuff with Nutella and it takes over the entire dish. This had a perfect balance of nutty chocolate to the bananas and French toast. The grits had lots of cheese - while I ate the French toast, the cheese melted so when I dug in, I got lots of melted cheese each bite. The Lil Eclectic Biscuit is small, which was a good thing, because we were getting really full. I highly recommend it - perfect size and packed with flavors from the cheesy biscuit to the bacon. All in all this restaurant has an easy, laid back vibe that welcomes you when you walk in. This is easily attributed to the happy staff that works there. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and smiling. Made our anticipated visit all the better!

Yelp
The service was lousy the waitress was impossible. She got nothing right. The manager had to come to the table to get our order together and even with that the food was just horrible so the red flags was up and we didn't see it. We should've left when the waitress was very rude

Yelp
One of the WORST experiences I have had in a long time. Left the burial of one of my dear friends and decided to stop for lunch. We were immediately seated so there weren't terribly crowded but it was a full house. It took FOREVER for a server to come over and take our orders. That should have been our first indication. I will say the server was nice and helpful. I ordered the salmon sandwich with potatoes and husband ordered some waffle sandwich. It took FOREVER to receive our food. After 30-40 minutes, I stopped the server and asked. She said they were short on cooks and they were behind. I can appreciate that as everyone is having trouble with labor. But why not tell your patrons and let them decide if they want to wait. We are now at 1 hour and still no food. After an hour and 15 minutes, we were brought our food (I use that loosely). My sandwich looked horrible. I could immediately see how burned the salmon was. They tried to hide it by turning it over but I could see it. I turned over the salmon and tapped it with the knife. Literally black and brick hard. The server immediately took the plate from me all while apologizing. She took it so quickly I didn't get a photo. My husband was brought a wilted, soggy pitiful waffle sandwich. It was definitely thrown together and poorly made. We had been sitting there so long and weren't hungry my husband wanted to try to eat it. I just ordered a plain bagel and called it a day. The manager did come over and apologize and took the salmon off the tab. I was very disappointed especially after all of that and I ended up with a plain bagel. Needless to say I won't ever be back and don't recommend them. I understand things happen in the kitchen. But what I do NOT accept is when the kitchen knowingly does something wrong and try to hide it. There are probably other patrons that would have accepted the salmon burnt and hard but not me. I would have rather they tried to make a new sandwich than try to disguise a burnt offering with lettuce and tomato. Two thumbs down!

Yelp
We were basically on a coffee tour through Memphis during our latest trip. My family is obsessed with coffee so we tried to try out a lot of different spots. This one was lovely! Another order at the counter place. They do have table service as they serve breakfast also. This place has a lot of different flavors for coffee, including coconut, which is one of our favorites. We had Americas this round and they were made to perfection super super yummy. Not skunky like some coffee shops can make them. Baristas were sweet and friendly. Super clean. Beautifully decorated. Street parking available.

Yelp
I always love to stop and get some good coffee from Café Eclectic. The café was quite busy and my waiter was very patient to take my order and fill it. I bought brioche bread pudding for my aunt and a blueberry scone for myself. The blueberry scone was good, but it was a little chewy for me and the lemon icing on top was very sweet. All in all it was pretty good scone but I would probably order a different pastry the next time I go. The cinnamon rolls looked really good. I love the new look of the restaurant. It is decorated nicely.

Yelp
I used to LOVE LOVE this place. A recent visit had me really down about the food and service. I thought I was ordering a semi healthy omelette with chicken. Unfortunately the chicken inside appeared to have been fried. Gross. My friend ordered a sandwich - and I am not exaggerating - it was the size of two crackers. Waited to get seated. Waited on service. Meh.

Yelp
Not that impressed. First, it took an hour to get our food. We didn't order anything special, just a couple of their standard breakfast items. It was Sunday at 1:15 p.m. and there was no line to get in. It wasn't like they were jammed-packed. We finally waited long enough and told the waitress we were ready to go. It was then that our food came out. We decided to get it to go as we were already late for the baseball game. I ordered the breakfast hash with an egg. Very disappointed in the "hash" as it was their standard fried potatoes, some cheese, and some bacon crumbles. Not what I was expecting for hash. Won't be back.

Yelp
Service was impeccable at this beloved café. I remember being there long ago with my husband. This visit I was hanging with a local friend, and this was the perfect place for us to catch up. The restaurant has been updated since the last time I was here, and everything is artful and fun without going overboard. The cinnamon latte was the best, and the sammy was super fresh and just the right size for a light breakfast.

Robert M.

Yelp
The food and service was great, nice atmosphere. Sit outside if it is not too hot. Staff is really friendly.
google avatar

Vachenzia M.

Yelp
One of my fav brunch spots. Salmon Omelet, grapefruit, and chai tea latte are usually my go to favs.

Lauryn J.

Yelp
My mom is in town, and a friend recommended this place, so we came. I likely won't return. The staff was friendly, however we waited almost an hour for our food! It was good food, but not the greatest thing I've ever had. The potatoes are amazing though!! They are seasoned very well and I liked the bell pepper bits. The chai latte is good as well. I don't recommend getting the scrambled eggs as they were highlighter yellow. We were told the kitchen manager left, and that's what made the wait long. Our waitress was very apologetic about the situation and offered a discount! I say come and get a drink, but do NOT get food. You'll be here forever.

Yelp
Solid. Food is hit or miss sometimes but mostly good. The coffee is excellent. Use the waitlist for busy mornings. Great place for meetings.

Bradley H.

Yelp
Among Memphis cafes, Eclectic is what Otherlands would like to grow up to be. I've been to Eclectic perhaps fifty times, in all. Funky decor, but (in my experience) wonderfully neat and clean. GOOD food...GREAT coffee...FRIENDLY, PROMPT service. Their staff seem to enjoy their work and their customers, and they stay around a long time, too--one marker of a successful operation. I just plain like being there--especially before or after I teach my class nearby. Manager Adam definitely knows what he's doing!

Sam S.

Yelp
The coffee is one thing I always look forward to at this restaurant. With a rotation of seasonal flavors and some great staples, I know I'm always going to enjoy my drink. Unfortunately, the food and the time taken to make the food bring my rating down. I've been here multiple times and consistently the wait is at least 30 minutes for dishes that are relatively simple. One time my friends and I got a take out order and two of our orders came out in 10 minutes, but we had to wait 45 minutes for the other order. The staff is always very friendly and gives good service, the issue is just the time taken to get the food out. The food is pretty good. They've got some good things and they offer pretty good vegetarian options and alternatives. I wish the dishes were seasoned a bit more and had more flavor though.

Emmaya E.

Yelp
It was ok, I didn't like the food I got but I liked my husband's food, it was good but not amazing. The coffee was good but it's just as good made at home, so we probably won't be coming back unless we're in the area and want coffee quick, we won't get food here again, but the coffee was good. The service was very slow, and the waiter wasn't friendly. I did like the environment, it's a small coffee shop, and we enjoyed the experience as a whole.

John A.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot. Outstanding service and great variety. The waffold and omelette were great. If you have a sweet tooth the espresso shake and chocolate chip scone hit the spot.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
This place could not have been more fantastic!! The service was great the food fantastic and the outdoor seating was shady and inviting. The coffee was so good we went back to this restaurant the 3 days we were in Memphis. I cannot recommend this place enough. You will not be disappointed!!
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
I go here all the time. The food is great and so is the coffee. Lots of good options. Gets a little slow when really busy but all of the servers are really nice even when running around.
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
If you're a vegan looking for some good brunch, this place is not for you. Admittedly, I'm biased. I'm from Los Angeles, where vegan options are delicious and abundant. So I have high expectations. I ordered the pancakes and the tofu scramble. The pancakes were way too thick and much too large. They didn't really hold together like a good pancake either. The tofu scramble was okay. I can make it better at home, which should not be the case. I appreciated the level of spice, but I wouldn't get it again and it needed other flavors (like chili powder, garlic, cumin, etc.). The plate was also lacking. It normally comes with toast, but I left that off since I had pancakes. It's also overpriced for what it is. The cinnamon oat milk latte was great, so I'm glad I ordered that.
google avatar

Kisha Y.

Yelp
Whenever I'm home I make sure and stop by cafe electric. It's BYOB the food is good , the vibe is great and inexpensive!!!! Oh and that chicken is SEASONED!!!
google avatar

Roger G.

Yelp
Always consistent quality with fresh ingredients and a healthy balance, when the weather permits the outside area is a perfect place to enjoy a good meal and relax. The service is always welcoming and efficient, the bakery has some delicious treats and specialty beverages
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
We stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Memphis and from previous reviews, couldn't wait to try this local cute cafe! The vibe was light and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately the grits were too firm for my liking, we had to remind the waitress to bring milk for the coffee and I had to ask them to make my coffee "special" hotter, the biscuits were good but for those reasons I didn't think it was worth the trip especially when there's so many other places to chose from.

Nicole J.

Yelp
Food was great, service was fast. We went back a second time while visiting Memphis for a week.
google avatar

Yas D.

Yelp
The ambiance is awesome to relax read and take in some sun. The food I ordered was divine and vegan . The service provided was prompt and friendly the server was knowledgeable about what a vegan can order.
google avatar

Romell H.

Yelp
Great food the whole 9 yards service fast and friendly ambience classic style lovely fast and clean

Etty H.

Yelp
This lonley star is given to the African American waiter. I entered the cafe around 2 p.m., plenty of empty tables outside and inside, no cue. I asked if I'm okay inside the cafe. He was very loud and rude sending me back to the outside door then telling me that I can sit myself. As I am not used to be treated like this I left the premises at once not to come back again.

Ken K.

Yelp
The service was outstanding, but the experience could have been better. I don't bash restaurants publically, especially ones that have stood the test of time and have a loyal following. Sometimes stuff happens. I wrote directly to the management and explained the situation. Without hesitation after looking up the ticket date/time we were there, they offered a gift card for an amount more than what I spent. This is real customer service and I appreciated it. Ken
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Everytime I come to Memphis I have breakfast at this spot. It seems they updated their food menu and coffee menu from the last time I was here and it is expansive. Service is great and fast and food was delicious! Karen was a great server. I got the French omelette and it was perfection! Also ordered a tall dark and handsome to go, oat milk espresso and cinnamon and cayenne. Def recommend, they were pretty busy for a Thursday but there is ample seating indoor and outdoor. This place has just gotten better, don't sleep on it! Also love that it's woman owned!
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
Wow, probably the best cold brew iced coffee I've had! If I lived near here, I'd be here every day. The breakfast burrito was also delicious.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
We love walking with our dog to eat here. We love sitting on the deck and always have great service and food. I tried the French toast for the first time and it was fantastic. Only downside of eating here, most of the entrees don't include a side and you have to pay extra.
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
We visited Café Eclectic for a nice big breakfast before our day at the zoo. I got eggs, potato hash and the Star of the meal- those biscuits! Coffee is good too- they serve Illy. Another plus was the very friendly service. It was about a 10 minute walk to the zoo if you're traveling without a car on a nice day like we were!
google avatar

Rae D.

Yelp
The drinks are amazing! If you are looking for healthier eating, this is the place. I Did not care for the spinach too slimy or the French toast. I thought it would be actual Texas toast but not feeling the sourdough(believe it's that bread in picture). But staff is friendly and gives fresh air vibes!
google avatar

Tia R.

Yelp
What a cute little cafe! This place has a variety of options, that all sound good. The food was tasty and the service was comfortable and inviting. I would definitely visit this place again and bring a friend. 8.5/10

Trent F.

Yelp
Great cafe and friendly environment. Highly recommend to anyone who is in town visiting
google avatar

Ellie F.

Yelp
This is a great cafe! I had the Bird & Biscuit and my partner had the salmon pita, both of which were delicious. The service was quick and our server was extremely kind. I like how open and bright the cafe is! You can sit outside to enjoy brunch, or even come in just to grab coffee while you study or work. The cafe does get busy, especially during brunch time, so it may be tricky to find street parking. Luckily, the cafe is also in walking distance of many great neighborhoods. I highly recommend Cafe Eclectic!
google avatar

La'Niya W.

Yelp
The food was delicious! The service was excellent and the ambience was somewhat pleasant although it's a get a bit crowded due to the take out and mobile orders.

Yelp
I got to say I love this little place. My go to is the funky salmon with no tomato. Trust me when I say it's better this way. Normally I go for water and herbal tea as my beverage but when I'm feeling festive I get the crème bruelatte. You can get that beverage hot or cold. On the weekends, wait time can be a little extended but it's worth the wait.
