10 Restaurants to Try Around Staples Center in Los Angeles

"Breva’s wonderful dining room isn’t all empty flash (but what a great bit of flash that would be, regardless). The menu plays to reliable, well-trod favorites (blistered shishito peppers, hummus with crudite, oysters and large format proteins come to mind) but it’s the thoughtful — and extensive — cocktail program that’s bound to get the night started off the right way." - Euno Lee

Google
Cafe Fig is a must-visit! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Just had brunch there and wow—everything was delicious! The vibes are great, the service is friendly, and the food? Next-level. The Chilaquiles were seriously amazing—perfectly crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying. And don’t sleep on the fish tacos—they were fresh, zesty, and full of flavor. Highly recommend this spot for your next brunch outing!

Google
I had a nice breakfast in this restaurant associated to the Figueroa Hotel. The service was nice and quite fast, and the overall atmosphere too (maybe the volume of the music could have been a bit lower). I liked the both the avocado toast (it was a rather large portion, including two poached eggs) and the cookie.

Google
Amazing food! I was on business trip in LA, and I went to this place every single morning! tried several dishes, and everything was delicious. The service was great and fast, I highly recommend visiting this place at least once!

Google
Cafe Fig is a overrated restaurant in Downtown LA . Food is okay . Not amazing. Price doesn’t reflect the portion . Service is ok you have to tip 20%???? The servers are lazy a probably because they know they will definitely get a tip . No AC you’re playing for the vibes . Parking isn’t hard to fine but a bit of a look around . Cafe Fig 6.5/10 wouldn’t recommend not worth it .

Google
I visited a brunch spot with a reservation. Parking was $12 for the day. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a hotel, so it was quite busy. I went around 10 AM, and the interior was a bit on the darker side. The food came out fairly quickly. Not sure if I’d return, but it’s worth trying at least once.

Google
I was craving a waffle and saw beautiful pictures from cafe fig online- the waffle absolutely delivered. Quite unique with hints of orange and mint with a berry compote + fresh berries. The whipped cream is extra thick (almost butter like) which made the whole dish more special. Interior was lovely and staff was very kind, highly recommend!

Google
It is really nice place that I had a brunch with my friends one time than two days later I had a lunch with my husband again. If you like berry than you should try waffles& berries. This is really good taste. It is hard to find the best food and nice place at the same time but this place has really amazing atmosphere as well. Love Cafe Fig))

Google
Came for brunch and the place has a great ambiance, unfortunately my praise ends there. The service isn't up to par, very slow and the food is just okay. The eggs for my eggs Benedict weren't properly poached and the hollandaise was very thin and off. My partner ordered the full breakfast and it was all just okay, the hashbrown was like a McDonald's hashbrown and his veggies had the tomato vine in them, they never brought us butter for his sourdough which went untouched. I was offered sugar and cream for my Americano which didn't come, about halfway through the meal I finally flagged our server down to ask for my sugar. They were out of a few menu items and I heard the nearby table struggle to choose other options. I don't think I'd return. 2.5/5.

Yelp
Only con is the cost of parking. Self parking right next door for $12, probably ok for the area but... Service - awesome. Friendly, attentive, fast. Menu - extensive enough, breakfast and brunch offerings. They were our odd some drinks but it didn't matter for our table. Food - came quickly, nicely plated and presented, and was delicious. Smoked salmon Benedict was pretty good. Egg cooked a few seconds too much but still runny and yummy. Pastrami was really good, tender meat, excellent bread. Breakfast burritos were piping hot and spicy. Chilaquila was good and filling. Brooklyn Natural with turkey, brie, apple, arugula and honey mustard on ciabatta was good. Would come here again if in the area.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant located at the Hotel Figueroa (right next to the bar area on the 1st floor). I was staying at the hotel so I dropped in for brunch on a Sunday morning. I had a few too many drinks the night prior so their chorizo breakfast burrito absolutely slapped. It was large enough to make into 2 meals and the green salsa was delicious. The service was quick and they had a full coffee bar as well. The only downside is parking (I was staying there so had to pay for the overnight valet parking which was pricey). But I can see parking being a pain for non-hotel guests.

Yelp
What a shame such a sweet restaurant with the best pancakes has such horrible servers. It never fails every time I come the servers in the restaurant (bartenders are great ) are horrible and rude. Don't ask if you're need cream and sugar with your coffee then are upset when you ask for it. Marie literally threw the sugar packets at us. Each time she came around if we asked for something she would walk away midway through our sentence. I kept saying to my husband doesn't she want a good tip? Well we found out why she has the luxury of being rude and unprofessional. The restaurant adds a 20% tip on every check even if you are dining with 1 or 2. Also they add a benefits charge. Yes all these charges for horrible treatment. Sorry great pancakes I'm not coming back. There are so many other choices where I'm treated nicely. PS. Don't order an iced coffee. It comes with no ice and don't you dare ask for some.

Yelp
It is a beautiful hotel but very pricy. I got the golden cacao latte iced and they informed us it doesn't conclude caffeine so we added a expresso shot. The drink was $15. I've had better lattes at a more affordable price range.

Yelp
People, this is just a cafe inside a hotel. It's not worth dining here when there are so many other restaurants in downtown LA. The only reason I chose to dine here is because it had four stars on Yelp and is a ten minute walk from the convention center. No, I didn't have an enjoyable dining experience. The hostess sat my party of two at a tiny table in the middle of the room, next to another tiny table where a couple was already sitting. The tables were a foot apart from each other. I was sitting closer to the other party than my own. There were a couple booths available, but I assumed they were only seating parties of four, until I witnessed they seated a party of two at one of the booths afterwards. So uncomfortable. The other couple didn't utter a single word while they were eating. Then my food was brought to the table BEFORE my drink. I spoke up and asked the waiter where my drink was because I was under the assumption that drinks are customarily delivered before the food. He asked if I wanted him to take the food? Where was he going to take the food until the drinks were delivered? Is this a new trend I am not aware of where drinks are delivered after the meal? I said no, just asked where my drink was. Soon afterwards, he delivered my latte to the table. It was hot, so it was obviously recently made, and not sitting around somewhere. The chilaquiles were fine, but my $10.75 cacao latte was the worst latte I have ever had. Too much cinnamon, but I was not going to bother with returning it and having it remade. Afterwards, I never saw the waiter again. Had to ask someone else for the bill. She was nice, but too late, especially when the bill was around $100. And yes, I still left a tip. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, not even to anyone staying at the hotel. LA Live is across the street. There are many restaurants there and within walking distance.
google avatar

Yelp
20 minutes waiting for a cup of coffee when the place is mostly empty. The server blamed it on the bartender, bartender blamed the server. Chilaquiles were okay. 4% benefit surcharge and 20% tip added automatically, but they still include tip line on the bill. Plenty of other places you can have the same food without being taken advantage of. Not a good start of the day.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this restaurant. In fact, I would suggest that you do not go here unless you want to listen to the person next you, that you do not know, chewing their food, as that is what happened to me. Meaning, the tables are way too close together !!! In terms of our order, here's one of my main deal breakers at any restaurant, they did not bring our drinks before they presented us with our meal. In fact, we had to ask the server about where our drinks were before he or anyone brought them to our table. That's just not right! How hard is it to present the customer with their drinks before their meal? After that, the server literally never came back to our table. We sat and sat, with empty dishes, waiting for our check to arrive. Still, no server. I had to actually ask the hostess for a bill before it was presented. For a restaurant of this caliber, and a breakfast that cost just under one-hundred dollars, I would have expected better service.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place forever!! I have never been so disappointed. :( My friend and I was at FitExpo and we were hungry so we walked over to Cafe Fig. We walked in and was seated pretty quick. Here's where it went downhill. We waited about 15 minutes just for the waitress to ask what to drink. I would understand if it was packed, but there was maybe two other parties. When she finally came over, she had the audacity to make a joke and say she forgot we were there. We were right in front of the bar!! Anyways, the menu was very limited for dinner. I opted for the antipasto appetizer. That was decent no complaints on that one. Then I got the crispy chicken tenders. That was nothing to write home about. while my friend got the salmon dish. When the check came little to my surprise, we got charged a benefit tip? I have never heard of that. And THEN they added a 20% gratuity !! Didn't even ask just automatically added it. Unbelievable honestly I would try this place again for brunch but for dinner. No.

Yelp
Attached to hotel Figueroa so don't be surprised if you enter at what seems like hotel entrance. Just ask for cafe. They have different teas focused on different systems/immune functions. Portion sizes are feeling. Leave room for bakery or get something to take with you!

Yelp
Loved this cafe. Very beautiful decor and the food was good. The service was also great! The only thing is that it's pricey so I would be back for a fancy date with my sisters or husband.

Yelp
Came in for a Thursday late lunch with the bestie and were immediately sat down. This café is by the entrance of the hotel itself and I saw a few folks doing remote work while enjoying their coffee here. My friend got the berry waffle while I wanted some more protein and opted for the pastrami sandwich. I thoroughly enjoyed my order although the meat itself was a bit dry and tough at times--but the flavor itself was hitting the spot. As for my friend, she did not think the waffle was anything special and ended up eating more of my dish haha. Service was fantastic and our server consistently came to check up on us and refilled our water several times. We were able to get in and out in under an hour. Overall, solid place to visit if you're in need of a quick lunch.

Brittany K.

Yelp
I met my friend here for brunch and I parked in the lot next door (more affordable than the valet). The food and lattes were great, they were unfortunately of the longevity elixir options we wanted to try. The server was honestly not very friendly from the start, and pretty quick to turn the table over. I'd come back for the friendly male host, food and cute esthetic. Definitely order the banana bread and taro latte!
google avatar

Yelp
Cafe Fig looks the part. It's stylish, inside a hotel, and made for those slow brunches or breakfast catch-ups when you want something a little more polished. The food's decent, nothing you'll be dreaming about later. But the space feels like a quiet little escape in the middle of downtown. Not a destination spot, but if you're already there, it's a nice place to sit, sip, and ease into your morning.
google avatar

Payton B.

Yelp
The food was good, the service was OK, but not great, had to ask for items several times and a decaf coffee got mixed with a caffienated coffee. What I really didn't like was the restaurant adding a 4% 'Benefits Surcharge' and automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill. I hate it when businesses do this.
google avatar

Erica B.

Yelp
If I could have ate here everyday I would have. The food and service were amazing and I honestly have no complaints. I visited the location on a previous visit to LA & had a great time. On this visit I realized I was staying at Hotel Figueroa and was very happy that the cafe was right downstairs. I had a chance to try the Pastrami sandwich when I first arrived and before I left I tried the chicken sandwich. Both were great and they give a good portion of the food. The biggest standout for me was the amazing service and the attentiveness of my server + the manager. I would visit here anytime I'm in the downtown area if I'm not staying at the hotel.

Yelp
(not pictured: iced latte that hit the mf spot.) service was great and atmosphere was cool esp w how pretty the building is itself. hella pickles so chefs kiss

Yelp
This place is located inside the Figueroa Hotel! It was a bit warm in the cafe, however very beautifully aesthetic! The servers were nice & attentive. Now for the food: Fish tacos 8.5/10: the fish was crispy! I enjoyed the toppings. It came with some salsa that was the perfect kick to the tacos! Surprisingly they were filling with the side of fries. You get a choice of fries or salad! Waffles 8/10: bring the chicken & waffles back! the waffles were cooked nicely & had lots of butter! breakfast Burrito 8/10: really tasty! if you like breakfast burritos this was satisfying! came with some sauces that made the burrito even better! overall this cafe was cute! i will say it was quite hot inside the cafe

Yelp
When you know, you know....... This place is historical and centered in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Start of with valet parking, rain or shine, then proceed through the entrance corridor to a beautifully lit, high ceiling foyer which leads to an inviting bar and/or seating area to dine. The service is very slow paced, so sit back and enjoy the ambiance. Such a cozy space to enjoy brunch, flights and bites. Treat yourself to a "picture perfect" day. May the rest of our lives, be the best of our lives. Cheers, Tiffany

Yelp
Nice coffee shop/restaurant in the Hotel Figueroa. Decent food and service, but nothing remarkable.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute, quaint, and nice facelift for the old Hotel Figueroa. I haven't eaten there yet, so the jury is still out on the food. But the prices for DTLA are reasonable and the service is very personable and professional. I will be going back to try their lunch.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place for a while so when me and my friends had last minute plans to meet last Saturday for lunch I was able to reserve the night before through Open door. So I only go to this area if I'm going to crypto (laker games, events, touring visitors) and usually I would park next to Hotel Fig as they have a flat day rate. The cafe is the at ground level and we checked in by going through the main hotel entrance and going straight down the hallway. Since we have a reservation we were promptly seated. We were not in the main area dining but by the lobby next to the bar. Comfy seats but a bit awkward while eating. Can't complain as the view from our seats were nice and not too loud. Food - I had the burger only because there's very limited choices for brunch/breakfast. We all ordered strawberry fields forever cocktail - was pretty good though it wasn't that strong but I don't mind since it was lunch. Burger was just ok not memorable but also not bad for a cafe. Price is a bit on the high side might not be worth it for some folks but i always take in consideration ambiance that can make up for some overpriced drinks and meals. My friend said her poke bowl was also good and fresh. Definitely a good place to hang with the girls or a place to meet up with people you haven't seen in a while or visitors as it's close to staples.

Yelp
We were looking for a solid breakfast spot after a long flight. The first couple of spots were ones that I like to eat at...little hole in the wall that specializes in breakfasts were full and had 1hr+ waits, so we ventured further down the street and landed at Cafe Fig! Located in the Hotel Figueroa was an awesome find. We walked in and were seated immediately! Our server came by and welcomed us, gave us some ideas, and here we go, time to order. - First was the yogurt fresh fruit and granola, everything in it was very fresh and light paired with a Tarro Matcha - Next was Ricotta pancackes...decadent and rich...be prepared though it is very much one texture...but delicious nonetheless. - Next was the Waffles and cream with fresh fruit...waffles were crispy outside and fluffy inside while the fresh fruit and cream served to break up the sweetness...chef's kiss! - lastly we had the breakfast burrito...this was totally balanced with the right amount of egg to potato and bacon...the salsa was a perfect compliment I would totally recommend this place and will for sure be back!

Yelp
We had friends in from out of town staying at the JW Marriott in downtown LA and wanted to meet them someplace close to their hotel for Sunday brunch. Online, we found the Cafe Fig, located on the ground floor of the Hotel Figuero, an easy walk from the JW as well as the Ritz Carlton. We were a party of four. We made reservations for an 11 AM seating, arrived a few minutes early but were seated immediately. We had a choice of three seating areas - one outdoors and two indoors. The few outdoor tables faced the street; the larger of the two indoor areas was pretty standard though with nice spacing between the tables so you could carry on a normal conversation, unlike some eateries in LA where they bunch tables one atop the other. The third seating area consisted of a handful of tables positioned a good distance apart in the open lounge area as you enter the restaurant - with plush, super comfortable chairs and a more intimate atmosphere. We opted for that and it proved to be an excellent choice for a nice, comfortable, quiet location to enjoy our meal and catch up. If one of those tables is available when you arrive or if you are able to choose one upon making your reservation, I would suggest requesting that. Service was fast, friendly and very attentive, including a floor person (not sure of her title) who made the rounds periodically to make certain everything was okay. Between her and our excellent waitress, we felt very well taken care of. Brunch is served daily from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Two of us ordered the Veggie Breakfast described on the menu as "Lily's eggs your style, Bub and Grandma's sourdough, roasted tomatoes, portobello mushroom, avocado, spinach, Meridith Goat feta." ($24), one ordered the Avocado Toast described on the menu as "poached lilys eggs, cotjia cheese, cilantro, watermelon radish, chili, salsa, lime" ($20), and the fourth ordered the Classic Breakfast described on the menu as "Lily's eggs your style, Bub and Grandma's sourdough, Beads & Barnetts bacon, roasted tomatoes, potato ($24). Portions were adequate without being excessive and we each enjoyed what we had ordered. We were very pleased with our choice of Cafe Fig as a place to meet, visit, catch up and enjoy a good meal. If you find yourself in downtown LA looking for something similar, I recommend you check out cafe Fig.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Very beautiful atmosphere, from the moment we walked in. The coffee I got was unique and flavorful Taro latte with oat milk. The waitress was nice enough to ask the chef to make me avocado toast even though it was after breakfast (since I'm vegan it was tough to order off the lunch menu, not many options.) My friend Carolyn got a poke bowl which she thought was delicious The hotel was a cozy stay, soft bed and beautiful view from 8th floor. Spacious bathroom as well either mosaic tiles. The only annoying part of our stay was at 7am there was a loud banging of drums and screaming with trumpet protesters. I couldn't even sleep through it and it was 1 hour and a half long. Unreal.
google avatar

Kris A.

Yelp
Great time brunching here! The host was friendly and welcoming, our server was wonderful! We requested for a side of cheese plate with our charcuterie board and she made it happen- no fuss. Food is deliciously decent, the ambiance is beautiful for a café. They have a bar and lots of tables! This place gets busy specially when there's a good game in Crypto arena. Valet is $18 with cafe validation or park across the private, safe lot for $15. Walking distance from Crypto arena.
google avatar

Tavia M.

Yelp
Made a same day reservation on a Saturday. Valet parking ($?) Or self parking ($10- all day) next to Hotel. Limited Brunch menu until 3 pm. Dining room slightly cramped but seating in Bar or on small outdoor Patio available (just ask). seating area in Bar open and spacious. Bar service was a little slow with only 2 servers for: Restaurant, Bar and Hotel patrons. Food service was efficient and served with a smile. Food was good but basic/bland. Also no Chambord or Cream de Cassis to make a Kir Royale . Surprisingly, there was a "Benefit Surcharge" added to the bill for "the Kitchen Staff" - I asked. This was the 1st time I, personally, have had to or been charged a tip for the Kitchen staff in a Restaurant to prepare my food!
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
I'll start by saying service was nice but felt a bit understaffed at times. We came right before a Lakers game and it was packed. Recommend a reservation if you want to guarantee a seat. We managed to grab a table by the lounge before everything filled up. I ordered the rose lavender latte, which had a strong coffee and honey taste but not much stood out from the rose lavender end. The avocado toast had a really good poached egg but it has a pretty strong kick to the chili that I was not expecting and was a bit too overwhelming for me at times. It's convenient if you can get a seat otherwise a pass for me.
google avatar

Nikki B.

Yelp
A friend of mine was in town and staying at a hotel nearby. For some weird reason that hotel bar doesn't open until 4 pm, so we came here for a drink. I haven't been to Hotel Figueroa since the recent remodel. Wow! It's so cool. We were both in awe of the aesthetic. The bar is open and spacious. The lounge emits a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and plush couches inviting you to sit, relax, & enjoy. (There is also a main dining room if you prefer something less casual.) It was too early for Happy Hour, which is 3 -6 pm but lunch was being served. We ordered cocktails, chilled, and enjoyed catching up. Our server checked in on us and brought us another round. He was very hospitable, and we felt welcomed to stay as long as we wanted. I'd like to come back and try the food.

Eleni Blue M.

Yelp
Great breakfast options and a very nice elegant place to eat. There are couches in the lobby/bar area and they are comfortable enough to work from. They also have a mini self-serve tea & coffee bar for hotel patrons with plenty of options. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Desiree P.

Yelp
LOVE the vibe! Who ever designed the space, well done. Reminds me of why I love being in LA. Staff is attentive. Food is delish. I appreciate that the breading on the chicken sandwich is thin, so you can taste the moist chicken underneath. Fries could have been a bit more crispy. Slight frustration, my friend ordered chicken with her salad. The sever didn't ask if she wanted grilled or KATSU. She received KATSU which she didn't want. We didn't even know there were options, would have been nice to have been communicated that. Side note - Valet is $18 and the parking lot next to valet is $20 for the day. Lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon ample parking in the parking lot.

Yelp
We were leaving Goldburger when we were standing outside peering inside to cafe fig when the manager spotted us and invited us to come inside for a quick tour. Great all around place for breakfast lunch or dinner. Service is really good and I really like the ambiance here. One of the best French press coffee I've ever had. We ended getting a table and ordering a bread pudding French press coffee and steak salad to go.
google avatar

Bibiana N.

Yelp
The vibe was amazingly and comfortable. The dog-friendly policy is great for dog lovers like me. My daughter and I had breakfast and the food and service from Emily was amazing. Thank you for the great experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was trash , I ordered a chicken cesar wrap , had no flavor , was dry , chicken had no seasoning , lettuce was brown . Server recommended turkey samdwhich which was ok but bread was hard , French fries were good. The menu was nothing special though, I've ate here before pancakes and mimosa were good but I guess you can't say the same for the rest of the menu , bartender was nice

Yelp
Stopped by here for a quick bite after going to the Luna Luna exhibition. Delicious chicken sandwich! Great service and beautifully decorated restaurant located inside Hotel Figueroa.
google avatar

Anton F.

Yelp
Have been here several times, meeting up with friends or colleagues whenever in the downtown area. The vibe is chill and laid back. A variety of lounge chairs, couches, tables and chairs. The bar serves up a list of specialty cocktails, beer and wine. Some of my favorites are the Pineapple Express and Eden. In my experience, the Bartenders are cool folks, always checking in making sure everything is good. The chicken sandwiches is very tasty and the Chips and Dips (guacamole) are a good appetizer and snack.
google avatar

Monica E.

Yelp
When you try to find the cafe. Make sure to go through the hotel. Straight down and turn left and you'll see the sign that says cafe fig. The inside was super nice and modern. The service was nice because our waitress kept checking in on us and gave us a run down how everything worked. The food was great! We got the salmon sesame bagel, that plate was huge! It was worth the price in my opinion! The waffle was okay just because the whip cream was a bit thick so my friend and I had a hard time to figure out whether it was butter cream or whip cream. But it was whip cream! It could be softer but I would still say I highly recommend coming here for the scenery and the food!

Bruce W.

Yelp
Awesome setting and a great menu. Only have visited once but service was slow and the were out of a menu item. Slightly pricey. I would give them another try if I get the chance.

Yelp
The restaurant is located inside the Hotel Figueroa. The location is really nice and the ambiance is fancy but reserve. I really enjoyed the vibe. The food was very basic and very much overpriced!!!! The service was amazing though very good server. Parking is extremely expensive too $18 that is with validated parking yikes!

Yelp
Great service, food is a bit on the expensive side but this place is inside a Hyatt hotel which makes the overall ambiance really nice.

Yelp
Great ambiance, service, and food! Stopped by for brunch and had the poke bowl. This was a well constructed dish with a blend of flavors that danced on the tongue. Would definitely recommend.

went here the other day to do homework and absolutely loved the environment. only downside is you have to either valet or pay for parking in a lot, but we ended up finding a meter spot 2 streets down. i got the spicy bloody mary and my friend got the espresso martini the normal one and the pumpkin one both were rlly good, although the pumpkin was a tiny bit bitter. for food i got the avocado toast it was incredible with the poached egg, and then i got a side of turkey bacon. service was incredible i forgot our servers name but she was super sweet. prices were a little bit pricey but its a hotel in la so it's figured.

Yelp
I've tried so many plates here and honestly you can't go wrong. Even the breakfast is yummy and they have a lot of healthy options! They have excellent service!

Yelp
Perfect spot to relax and catch up with friends. It's a restaurant located inside a hotel, so there's also plenty of comfortable seating to lounge around in. We ordered a turkey club, tuna tartar, and the dip, and they were all so delicious. The tuna tartar could be better. The turkey club was the perfect amount of saucy and crispy bread. The service was great as well. The parking situation isn't too bad. It's downtown so ofc it's going to be pricey, but we did find a parking structure nearby for $3 for 3 hours.

Yelp
The food was tasty. The service was average. The ambiance was nice. I had the avocado toast while my husband had an omelette. We both enjoyed our meals. It was great to see Anima Mundi lattes and elixirs on the menu. It is a sustainably sourced, ethical company that I love! I had the golden cacao latte. We went before going to an LA Kings game, which was only a short walk to Crypto Arena.

Yelp
What can I say, it's a hotel restaurant. LOL I wasn't expecting much more, so I wasn't really disappointed. The food and service were not horrible, but definitely not great. I made reservations for two for a Friday at 3 p.m., which weren't necessary at all, considering it was pretty empty inside. Parking sucks: you definitely won't find any free parking, possibly some metered street parking. Honestly, you're better off just parking at a nearby structure for the day since it's probably the same cost as 2 hour metered parking (10 bucks at most structures). We sat in the lounge area since we wanted to order off the Happy Hour menu (for the apps), but we weren't even given a non-alcoholic beverage menu. I would have ordered the basil lemonade or a specialty coffee if I saw the menu before. My friend ordered a virgin strawberry cocktail, and it was $12 (I'll never understand why a small cup of juice is so expensive when there's no alcohol in it) - not worth it. As for the lounge area, the seats were not comfortable at all. I sort of felt like I was sitting at the kids' table; the chairs were so low, and the table wasn't any higher. This was after we moved from one section because the seats weren't comfortable. They look nice, though! Tuna tartare tostada - This was the highlight of our meal! It was delicious and I definitely recommend it. It's super tiny, though, so I wouldn't suggest you share it! Waffles & Berries - Not bad, but not great. They had a strong egg smell. I did really enjoy the berry sauce, though. Also, my glass of water had a REALLY strong egg smell. My glass of water! Ceasar Salad with Salmon - This was pretty good. The Caesar dressing was a little too thick and hard to spread, but it was tasty. The salmon was pretty basic but good. Our server was great at first; super friendly and attentive, but then she disappeared towards the end of our meal. We finished our meal and after waiting for a while, we went to find somebody for the bill and to-go containers. Normally, as a server, you tell your tables if you are leaving, so I don't know what happened to her.

Yelp
My partner and I were staying at Hotel Figueroa and came to Cafe Fig for breakfast during the stay. On the first morning we dined here (Saturday), the food was spectacular. My favorite was the breakfast burrito which packed the meat, hash-brown, and all the other yummy goodness really well. To top it off, there was this tasty orange sauce that tied it all together! It was probably one of the best breakfast burritos that I've had. I was so happy about the breakfast burrito, that I ended up ordering it again on Sunday morning (Mother's day). However, I was quite disappointed to find that the ingredients inside the burrito were not mixed well. All of the hash-brown was to one side and it was missing the orange sauce. I would have given this place 5 stars if it were not for the inconsistencies. Maybe there was a different chef putting together the burrito and I was just unlucky on Sunday.

Yelp
First off, you have to walk through the hotel in order to get to this place. I will add that there is a nice ambiance. We ended up sitting outdoors since we had a dog (though we did have the option of also sitting indoors!). It was nice outside as well, so it was not a big deal (we chose outdoors). Service was awesome! We were the only table that sat outside, yet we received constant checkup and waiters consistently came back to ask if everything was alright. Very professional and solid service. Food- ordered the avocado toast, banana pancakes, lavender & taro latte, and chicken & waffles. Out of everything, avocado toast was probably my favorite. Next was the texture of the banana pancakes- it was solid. The chicken & waffles were not the best, they were a bit on the salty side. Taro latte (iced w/ coconut milk) felt a bit watered down, but the lavender drink was great. I will say I enjoyed the presentation of everything though! Not the greatest food I've had, but they definitely do put effort into it and I appreciate that! It is a pretty solid place in general. (though I did not get to try any of their dinner/lunch meals, we only chose from the brunch menu) Might be back to try those!

Yelp
Food was good, service was a little bit off (forgot my chai) although they were not busy and please note that gratuity was already on the receipt although we were only a party of two. Accidentally tipped again but oh well. The restaurant itself has a cool and hip vibe.

Yelp
As someone who habitually eats twice a day, brunch on the weekend is a must. I've gone to a few brunch spots in LA and I have yet to find the "one". So... I decided to try somewhere new to fulfill that need. In addition to the hunger pangs that make me feel like I want to devour everything. There was ample parking in the lot next to the restaurant. My only gripe is that the parking machine is a little spotty. (We had issues using our card to pay for parking prior to our meal and had to walk across the street to get cash. Then it magically worked somehow after the fact. Weird.) We decided to sit outside on the patio since I brought my dog with me. So yes, definitely a dog friendly establishment! There was also no wait time at all which is a win in my book. The outdoor seating is a small area on the side of the restaurant which wasn't too bad. I think if you have a large party and want to sit outdoors, this restaurant might not be the most ideal option. My only word of advice is that knowing that this restaurant is located in Downtown LA, be prepared to see an assortment of interesting characters walking and "screaming" by I have to mention that the indoor dining space is very aesthetic. It was really rustic and cute! It seems like a lot of the hotel patrons were dining in. It filled up pretty well indoors so you may need to plan ahead if you are interested in indoor seating! Cocktails were superb. We got both the Leilani + Evelyn! Leilani had a more tropical feel whilst the Evelyn was vibrant and refreshing on the palette! A lot of their cocktails sounded really unique so I'd be interested to trying more of what they had to offer next time! Food wise, I think this restaurant is pretty average in comparison to other brunch places. Their brunch selection is somewhat smaller than some of the other restaurants I've been to but that can be a good thing if you always find yourself in the throes of decision paralysis. The build your own omelette option was decent as well as the breakfast burrito. No novel to write home about! The Chinese chicken salad was also pretty solid. Next time, I might try the chicken and waffles which seemed promising But then again, how can you go wrong with chicken and waffles? Overall, the service was quick, efficient, and everything was received in a timely manner. I think if you are in the area and looking for a quick brunch then this is a solid choice!
