"Cafe Gozhóó is a community space and cafe in White River, Arizona that integrates Apache foodways with other Indigenous foods of the Americas. The cafe is all about providing accessible food, meals, and coffee to the local White Mountain Apache community, and it also serves as a vocational training program for those recovering from substance abuse. The dining space is cozy and casual, and the specials change regularly to highlight ingredients from the local Apache People’s Farm. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

This place is a real gem, hidden in plain sight along Hwy 73. We were riding our motorcycle through White River today, and happened to hear about Cafe Gozhoo from a couple of different people, so we decided to give them a try. Well, the place is not obviously a restaurant, so we drove through the parking lot twice before we noticed that their sign actually included the name of the restaurant. What appears to be a treatment center is actually also a beautiful little bistro that serves fresh, local food, prepared in a gorgeous kitchen by talented chefs. We shared the Dry Guy sandwich, which was a delicious chicken breast on fresh, buttery, grilled bread with lots of yummy other things on it. Probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The salad was just right with a light, lemony dressing, and the roasted (?) potatoes were seasoned to perfection. So good we almost ordered another one! Overall a wonderful little surprise on an already great ride, would totally recommend Cafe Gozhoo. They have a great looking coffee menu also. Go there!

I tried the apple turnovers and the breakfast, everything was delicious! I loved how they make the potatoes. The people were very nice, the place was clean and well maintained, it was good. I travel alot, and to be honest from the outside I didn't expect much. This stop is a MUST. You guys at the Cafe, you guys are doing great!

THIS! Cafe Gozhoo pronounced 'Goes Shawn'. (I hope I did that right...my Apache is a little rusty). James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Award semi-finalist! On the rez and located in Whiteriver. Absolutely Apache amazing for many different reasons. Lunch was fabulous. The owner has such a heart and vision. Look it up. And by all means...go have lunch. ❤

I enjoyed a delicious takeout lunch today of fire-roasted vegetables with white bean puree, along with fire-roasted salmon, perfectly seasoned quinoa, greens, and vegetables, and scones and an oat milk latte. Even as takeout, the chefs carefully and thoughtfully "plated" the food with attention toward holistic beauty and flavor. I could taste the attention and care. It made my mid-day lunch a special, healthful, healing treat! I will be back! Masks required. Cash only, and open Monday through Friday from 7am to 1pm. HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
Three Sisters Salad is so fresh and tasty. Native American influenced "Drinks of the Day" are so fun. Service is great, and the interior is new and clean. This is a hidden gem just 30 min away from Pinetop-Lakeside

Yelp
Something good is happening in Cafe Gozhoo. This place is unique because the chef is providing a safe place for the community to heal from internal struggles. The focus of the meals is the seasonal harvest. We drove up here to taste the chef's creations. I ordered the Three Sister Salad and Recovery Rice and the Burrito Steak. I was very impressed with the salad, it was a generous portion. The burrito was balanced with meat and shrimp. This place is special and definitely going back again to try their fall/winter menu.

Yelp
Closed until further notice. Don't waist your time trying to go there and eat. I was looking forward to going to a sit down restaurant near white river. Looks like the only option right now is Burger King or a snack at Bashes.

Yelp
My wife and I are volunteer missionaries for our church, in Fort Apache. We've only been here 3 weeks. We went to Cafe Gozhoo based on a recommendation. It was amazing. Beautiful, clean, stainless still kitchen. The food is delicious. We've been been back several times and will continue to patronize the Cafe. You won't be disappointed and the food prices are very affordable.

Yelp
This place is a great find in the White Mountains. A very small menu but the food is really fresh. A nice interior with a view into a great kitchen. I had the best salad I've ever had. I saw sandwiches that other people had and they looked fabulous, with a side helping of roasted potatoes. The prices are amazing and no tipping. A great choice of coffee and tea. I think it may be a place that also counsels people who've run into trouble so your money funds a worthy project. Be sure to check the open times as it isn't open on weekends and closes for certain events.

Yelp
Great food with great service. Try the seasonal menu items, you won't be disappointed. We had the Chii dii burger and the herb roasted steak with vegetables. Both items were delicious. The only downside is this is a cash only business, so be prepared.

Yelp
The food was not the best and the service was horrible. I found bugs in the Three Sisters Salad which was horrible. The location is very remote. I had to drive 36 hours from Miami to get there. I do not suggest this place to anybody. The large pumpkin spice caramel latte was 4 whole dollars which is not bad but it was not good at all!!!!!!! :C

Yelp
Unbelievable food! We ordered Tha Show Guy and a Quit Cold Turkey both were $8 and amazingly good. Full kitchen is up front in full view and is spotlessly clean. Wife got a Dragonfruit refresher drink for $4 and I ordered a large Pumpkin Spice Carmel latte for $4. Neither drink was disappointing! Best lunch we have had in North/Central Arizona in over 4 years. Definitely with the drive back!
