European-style coffeehouse offering many beverages & pastries, plus crêpes & sandwiches.
"This Midtown restaurant is a frequent spot for tourists and locals on dates looking to grab a bite in Midtown before taking in the sights or heading to the symphony or a production at the Alliance Theater nearby. Cafe Intermezzo may be known for its decadent desserts and late-night bites, but breakfast, brunch, and dinner are solid bets here, too. Try the chicken Florentine crepe, Belgian waffles, and pastrami and Swiss on grilled rye bread. The cafe-style seating along Peachtree is hard to beat on a pleasant day." - Beth McKibben
"Of the three metro Atlanta locations, the Midtown Cafe Intermezzo is our favorite because of their patio. The antique-looking facade could have been plucked from some Parisian sidewalk, but views of a busy, pedestrian-friendly stretch of Peachtree Street make us feel at home. On cold days, a steamy glass of brandy-spiked Café Royale and the overhead heaters are all we need to warm up. And expect the patio to fill up with others chasing the same warmth and semi-alfresco charms. But the coffee menu, the most comprehensive we’ve ever seen in the ATL, is worth braving the crowd." - juli horsford, jacinta howard, nina reeder
"For nearly 50 years, Cafe Intermezzo has been both a quintessential date outing and leading late-night haunt, so we gather there’ve been plenty of wine-drunk arguments around these tiny round European cafe tables. Their Midtown cafe is one of the newer locations, and it’s our favorite because of their patio, which overlooks a busy stretch of Peachtree Street. It looks like it’s plucked from some Parisian sidewalk. Gilded ceilings, dark cavernous interiors, and a few well-placed sculptures and Art Nouveau posters make up the scene. While their pastas and sandwiches are decent, the food has never been the star. You’re here for the giant dessert selections (any of the cakes or cheesecakes are great picks) and the most comprehensive coffee menu we’ve ever seen in the ATL." - Nina Reeder
"Looking for decadent desserts paired with coffee, wine, or a nightcap in Midtown? Head over to Cafe Intermezzo for plenty of cheesecake choices, tres leches and carrot cake tortes, and tiramisu. This neighborhood cafe may be known for its desserts and late-night bites, but breakfast, brunch, and dinner are served here, too. Try the chicken Florentine crepe, Belgian waffles, and pastrami and Swiss on grilled rye bread. Cafe Intermezzo has locations in Dunwoody and Alpharetta. Patio seating." - Eater Staff
"Of course Cafe Intermezzo includes a classic Irish Coffee on the menu, but it also features several other boozy hot coffee drinks to try. There’s the Bailey’s cappuccino with espresso and steamed cream and the Cafe Royale with coffee, brandy, and schlag (whipped cream)." - Beth McKibben
