A BYOB favorite where dough ferments properly, mozzarella is made daily, and a hand‑built wood‑fired brick oven anchors the menu. Praised by local food writers and consistently recommended by El Paso diners.

This place always hooks me up with amazing pizza!!! Generous toppings and delicious brick-oven dough which is to die for. Do not miss this place!

Google
The food it’s very good if you’re eating at the restaurant but if you order to pick up it’s something else, the caprese salad with the ends of the tomatoes and for the wood roasted vegetables it’s said in the menu with a bite of salami and cheese and its literally just a bite

Teresa Kimm

Google
We had the house salad and the all meat pizza- both were delicious! It was nice to see everyone working together, smiling, and communicating, to provide a great guest experience. Will definitely go back.

Google
We had dinner there tonight and after we ate and they brought us the bill I didn’t have time to sign the receipt and they were asking me me to sign. I did and then they asked us to leave bcuz they needed the table for other customers. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant after I paid. We were still enjoying our wine that we brought and paid their bottle service. Will never go back there again!

Google
So good! Bring your own liquor. They don't charge to open. Food is Amazing and the servers are all so nice. Best staff and food I've had in a long time. Salad big enough to share, pizza has the perfect amount of crisp yet still soft and tasty.

Google
Beautiful cozy place, perfect for a date night for sure or a good relaxing time with friends. The menu is not so variable but they have good dishes. The pastas are always good and I’ve been serve fairly quick. Also, the sitting outside is very nice and outstanding from the usual. I like to go here to disconnect and unwind! Cool thing, is BYOB.

Google
Delicious Italian food. First time here but I liked it so much. The restaurant is right at a valley on Mesa St. So, it is great to come here right before the sunset and enjoy your food on the porch. Also, BYOB. $10 for a bottle of wining opening service charge.

Google
Terrible waitress. She had a horrible attitude while working as a waitress. She had no basic concept of service or business. This was the worst waitress experience I have had in my life. The food was average. I bet people who say this place is good have never visited authentic Italian restaurants. 100% Americanized I Italian but okay in the US. but still 50/100 food. Id rather go to 🫒 garden.

Yelp
Outstanding wood fired pizza and calzone. This is our go to place for pizza on the go.

Yelp
My husband and I came to El Paso for a mini weekend vacation and I'm glad we found this place! The service was great and the food was so yummy! If you are in town and are looking for Italian cuisine, try this place out!

Yelp
Cafe Italia on Mesa Street delivered exactly what a cozy neighborhood Italian spot ought to: a fantastic Bianca pizza, warm ambiance, and the quiet charm of a tucked-away eatery. It can get a little warm inside--something to note if you're heat-sensitive--and the owner, while present, isn't always the friendliest. Still, the food stands on its own, and for lovers of thin-crust pizza done properly, it's a worthy stop.

Yelp
Cute place, nice ambiance, outdoor patio, and fast service. The bread is hot from the oven and so tasty. Portions are substantial. The only criticism I have is that when the pasta was served the waiter did not offer parmesan nor was there any on the table. I did ask for it- I am Italian after all- and it was promptly supplied. Overall a great place with lots of wait staff and a well organized kitchen.

Yelp
Was so pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and food of this restaurant! We came at night and the outside patio was lit up with lights. The service was also great! The portions were also super generous which I really appreciated. Had to take most of it home. My pasta dish was extremely creamy so I definitely got full quicker. It was good but it wasn't honestly anything too special though. I would definitely come back and give their other dishes a try!

Yelp
We had the two antipasto starter dishes, shrimp Alfredo, pepperoni pizza, and the Gracie! Everything was fabulous! The staff was sweet, and the ambiance was homey. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Went to Cafe Italia tonight while my family and I are on our roadtrip back home to Arizona. We arrived 5 minutes early and waited outside for a woman to open the door. She looked annoyed to say the least, rolling her eyes as she saw us at the door and continued on her pre-opening duties. We felt extremely unwelcome and even after we were seated no one came to our table for ten minutes, serving others before us even though we were literally there before opening. We ordered a cheese pizza for our kids ($20?!) and a chicken Alfredo to share. The Alfredo was very good, but the pizza was pretty disappointing. It was quite small and barely fed my two toddlers. Honestly I wouldn't suggest this place just based off the female server with her major attitude towards paying customers. The food was fine but nothing great, hard pass from me.

Yelp
I hadn't been to cafe italia in a while. The time before we sat at the bar and had no problems...This time we were a party of five celebrating my birthday. We brought our own wine. The food was good we ordered, 2 pizzas, salad, caprese, and chicken pasta, nothing out of this world, but good. But the service and manager were BEYOND rude and pushy. It was evident the manager was on a roll and all the wait staff were super on edge, rushing, throwing plates on the table, hovering, and trying repeatedly to pick up our half eaten plates EVERY chance they got, to the point of being annoying and we mentioned it to our server because everyone seemed to look so rushed and unpleasant. He said the owner was in. We were asked if we wanted the check, without even being offered dessert or coffee. We said no to the check, we would have coffee. We estimate we had been there about an hour and 10 minutes, and willingly waited for 45 minutes to be seated to begin with. We were sipping our coffees and the manager came over and told us we had to wrap it up as they were busy tonight. I mean I was shocked! Who comes over and says this to paying patrons when the waiter just set down our coffees?! I said I didn't appreciate being asked to hurry up and wrap it up like we were children, especially when we just ordered coffee. He said again to please wrap it up. I said he was being incredibly rude and had I known we were going to be on a time limit and feel pressured to rush we would have never come to dinner here. He said there is a sign before being seated that says there is a time limit? Talk about tacky..... I never saw it, maybe because I was catching up with old friends on my birthday while we waited. Well finished our coffees and he still came over again. And made prayer hands and said please can we wrap it up. Never in El Paso have I been pestered and persisted to leave so an establishment could make more money by pushing paying patrons out. Shame on the owner for allowing this kind of rhetoric from any staff. We will never return. Spend your money and leisurely dinning experience elsewhere.

Yelp
Super tasty. Nice ambience. Great place to catch up with friends. Service was good nothing to complain about.

Yelp
I love it!! To start, the bread was stuffed with flavor, and the Antipasto was good! Our waiter was pretty nice. They make their pizza ingredients in-store. I had 2 Pepperoni Pizzas, and one Gracie's Pizza! Their patio is very spacious, overlooking a large ditch where bats live, and the dining area has photos of their food! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Cafe Italia has been one of the best Italian restaurant in El Paso for more than a decade. The menu is really simple evolving around its wood pizza -oven where the magic is performed! With fresh homemade burrata mozzarella which is one of the most perfectly constructed foods (it's cheese and cream wrapped in more cheese), and, miraculously we have two local brothers who decided to master the art! The pizzas are also delicious with the classic Margarita and the all meat! The service has not been consistent lately with a little bit of a laissez- faire and sometimes an attitude pressing people to leave. So it would be great to see less of that. One of our pizza was very oily and our server replaced it immediately, so that was cool. The ambiance is welcoming and relaxed. So, this is really a good place to bring friends and relaxed. You can BYO wine for a small cork fee($10). The patio outside is also a cool place to enjoy a sunset and some delicious pizzas.

Yelp
I have seen this place for years, and finally decided to give it a try....delicious!!!

Yelp
The food was wonderful and it's BYOB. Great atmosphere. The Nutella calzone is a must!

Yelp
Service is super attentive Food is excellent EVERY SINGLE TIME (I go there every Friday) Ambiance is nice.

Yelp
A little pricy but the food and service made up for it. I went with my daughter to celebrate her choir performance and we enjoyed the vibe. The restaurant is small, classy, cozy and busy but we lucked out and got a table upon walking in. We orders the charcuterie board and it was unique and delicious with a combination of sweet and savory, what stood out was the delicious thin sliced pears and bread that just came out of the brick oven. My daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I tried a bite and thought I had to order it next time because it was the best I ever tried. I ordered the Marguerite pizza and the it just tasted amazing with the quality of ingredients. We ordered simple meals but you can't beat the taste of quality and freshness. We will come back and try something different and I suspect everything is incredible on their menu.

Yelp
Great food bad service. Rushed atmosphere. Who wants to drink some wine eat good food and be rushed Sheez. Sorry rushed mentality has to go

Yelp
So rude! It's a Saturday night, my boyfriend and I called in advance to inquire about business hours and if we could make a reservation and the woman over the phone said they didn't take reservations; first come first serve. So we were like okay cool whatever. We stop by at 9:30pm literally on the dot maybe even two minutes earlier and the waitress said she wouldn't sit us down because since it was "a slow night" they closed early LMAO. There were people still inside and other staff members were already cleaning wine glasses in front of other tables full of customers still. I thought the encounter was rude, even more so with customers still eating, and business hours listed from 5pm-10pm. If the staff members aren't passionate about the service they provide, why should I waste my time or money coming to dine here? Your front of house/waitress confirmed that for us tonight. We opted to visit Garufa instead, and the food is to die for here. Kind of glad they veered us away :)

Yelp
I really like this place. It's cozy, food is consistently delicious, and the servers are all really nice. I like that it's bring your own wine too. If you bring wine, you can ask for glasses and drink some wine on the patio (if it's not packed) while you're waiting for your table. Expect to wait for a table if you come during dinner hours. I really like the antipasto wood fired vegetables. They change seasonally which I appreciate. They have this nice wood fired char that make any veggie more flavorful. Pizzas are tasty and the homemade mozzarella is good too. Recent had the gracies pizza and added sausage. I never thought of rosemary on pizza but yum!!! Great option. The pepperoni is also pretty perfect.

Yelp
Is a fantastic place with amazing food, excellent service, and great prices. I highly recommend it for its welcoming family ambiance.

Yander M.

Yelp
the food here was amazing and definitely worth the price.I would definitely come again and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The vibe is amazing.

Yelp
Great pizza. Best in El Paso. Live in Dallas/Mckinney and is better then anything in my area. Closest I've had to NY Style.

Jimena V.

Yelp
I am extremely disappointed with the service in this place. It is genuinely one of the worst experiences I have had. After finishing out food I ordered a coffee while my wife finished her wine and before bringing it out, the waiter brought the check. I reminded him of the coffee I ordered, and after looking at the check he turned around and left. After several minutes he came back with a $5 bill and told us we could now leave, as there was a long wait and it be best we wouldn't leave other customers waiting.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Cafe Italia has some of the BEST pizza in El Paso. They are smaller servings which would be perfect to split between 2 people. The wood fired taste of the pizza is what keeps me coming back. The bread is also delicious, if you're really looking to double down on some carbs. I would recommend it with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar if they have it.
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
So happy we chose to order takeout from Cafe Italia for dinner on Friday! In my opinion, Cafe Italia has the best pizza in El Paso. The pizza itself is fairly thin, but the crust itself is slightly thicker and so soft. The tomato sauce on their pizza is amazing. This time we chose to order the "All Meat" with salami, sausage, & pepperoni, and it was delicious. We also shared the chicken alfredo, which came with a small piece of bread that tasted just like the crust on the pizza! The pasta was so so good, but I would say that the pizza here stands out slightly more. I would definitely visit Cafe Italia if you haven't already - you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
If you are a Wine lover there is no better place to taste your favorite wine with an awesome food... Bring your favorite wine and enjoy with a delicious custom made pizza, pasta or salad The menu has few but very good choices at a reasonable prices
google avatar

Melissa O.

Yelp
I do like the food very much. I love that it's handmade and fresh! And it's awesome you can bring your own wine for a $10 corkage fee. But I can't get over the prices. It's expensive for what you get. And some nights we have great service and other nights, not so much. But I've learned you can't offer constructive criticism on the spot. I understand it's a family owned business which is why I support it. But geez, if someone is off their game, it's not right to take it out on the customer. Before the pandemic we were regularly there but not now. The hit or miss on service and the prices keep us away.
google avatar

Maria S.

Yelp
I don't understand how a restaurant (in the service industry) can have an owner that is so rude and out of touch with basic customer courtesy. On more than one occasion we were asked to "hurry up and finish so they can have the table". The last time (West Town) it happened we told the owner we were not finished and wanted to enjoy the last bit of wine that was left. (This was during the week and no rush of people looking for a table). A few days later we visit the location on Mesa and were informed they will no longer serve us. This is after being regular (1x week) customers for several years. Good riddance! I'll take my money and continued business to someone who appreciates it.

Yelp
Great service and wonderful food. Inside and outside dining, which is a plus. Very friendly staff. My wife and I enjoyed it very much.

Yelp
My husband and I were lamenting that we had not found a great Italian restaurant in El Paso while moving our son. He asked his wife who is from El Paso for a recommendation and she said try cafe Italia on westside. We were pleasantly surprised! We ordered a 2 house salads and 2 spaghetti with meatballs to go. The salads were delicious with their house dressing and sliced pear. The meatballs were fabulous! I will definitely go back when we are in town and am so glad to see that El Paso is serving great food.

Yelp
Went for an early dinner on a Wednesday night. It was just ok. The menu is quite limited.. think pasta, pizza, or calzone. That's it. The pasta was average. The calzone I ordered I asked for additional pepperoni. $3 charge. The calzone looks absolutely enormous when it's served, but I was disappointed to find it was mostly air and deflates significantly when you're digging in. The inside left much to be desired. I felt like I ate mostly bread. We visited the Cimarron location. It was, like I said, just ok. Didn't get a chance to try their pizza. ‍
google avatar

Vicente R.

Yelp
Food is great and authentic, this is the best pizza I've had in El Paso and It's a nice little place to take your significant other for a date. You can bring your own wine but at a fee not too bad. Again the food is fantastic and doesn't take long to be served. And for the price it's worth it, service is good and friendly. Won't find a better place.

Evan C.

Yelp
The pizza is excellent. Bring your own wine makes it especially nice. Small corking fee. More quiet/ laid back atmosphere at the original. A little more vibrant at the cimmaron location
google avatar

Salma R.

Yelp
The food is really good but there's little options, I wish the menu was broader. They charge a $15 fee for cakes and an $8 fee per bottle of wine. Wish the place was more spacious.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Excellent pasta and pizza. Highly recommend! Service was good. This is a small restaurant but they have a cute outdoor patio, if the weather permits sitting outside.
google avatar

April M.

Yelp
WE WERE HUMILIATED, DISCRIMINATED AGAINST, AND THROWN OUT BY THE OWNER!! beware of this place, after having dinner within about an hour timeframe, we were asked to leave in a very rude manner by the OWNER! We hadn't even finished our drinks and he came over and completely humiliated us because he feels we took too long to pay our tab (5 minutes after having finished dinner!) There were other customers that had been sitting before us and and were still there when we were kicked out!! Total discrimination!! The customers next to us even apologized on his behalf because they felt bad for us! NEVER AGAIN! please check out their reviews on google, many others have been treated like this! The owner is an arrogant and classless jerk that cares nothing about his customers. SHAMEFUL!

Yelp
I have eaten here often as I find it to be a very relaxing place for relationship building, and friendship, making: very rustic amazing service, great pizzas, and just an overall relaxing place to hang out with friends: love the outdoors in the spring, as it makes for a very enjoyable evening with friends: food is amazing simple a place to hang out and just be friends and eat good food

Reyna M.

Yelp
I was not impressed. Very crowded place I couldn't even have a nice conversation. Can't purchase wine by the glass must purchase bottle.

Yelp
Family craved pizza and this placed had great reviews . We had a take out order by the time we got back to our place which was around the corner it was soggy . I asked for extra marinara and was charged $5 calzone was also a bit soggy .
google avatar

Yelp
Is good however the wait staff rushes you out so fast they don't even let you enjoy your dinner. They push you so hard to leave.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably one of the best Italian places in El Paso. My daughter and I visited for our first time. She has a food allergy and they were very gracious and understanding and worked with us. It was a busy Friday night and we sat inside. It was pretty noisy even for restaurant standards. I had the house salad and it was made with fresh greens, walnuts, pears cherry tomatoes and a vinaigrette (hold the Parmesan). For my entree, I had the shrimp Alfredo, it comes with two pieces of fresh bread. It's heaven on a plate. The fresh pasta was cooked beautifully, not overdone and not too al dente. The service was excellent. Even the owner came out to check on us. I highly recommend this place and I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

R. M.

Yelp
Patio is nice but there's no heaters. Service is ok. Menu is basic. We had to pay for bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar when it's part of the meal in Italian restaurants. The bread and the olive oil were mediocre. Food was ok. Very basic. They didn't have black pepper and brought red pepper to eat with pasta (what?). They also brought store bought grated Parmesan cheese which is not something they do In good Italian restaurants; in good Italian places, they have the Parmesan shredded in front of you. Three stars because of the location and great view of the mountains.
google avatar

L M.

Yelp
Very nice ambiance and service at both locations. The quality of the food is very good and delicious. Their house salad with the thinly sliced pears is so fresh and so tasty, one of my favs.
google avatar

Karlyn K.

Yelp
Second trip to Cafe Italia and I wasn't disappointed. Food was great. We tried both of their appetizer spreads and everyone loved the offerings. We shared the caprese salad and again super yummy. Do yourself a favor and ask for some balsamic to go with the offering. I ended with one of their white pizzas. The crust is tasty as are the fillings. It needs a little extra touch as it is a little bland. I highly recommend some pizza sauce for dipping. Super yummy visit.
google avatar

Kenneth M.

Yelp
I've been trying to get here for ages. Their operating hours don't work well for me. If I do go back it will be for dine in. My first order was a pick up. And it was just ok. When we arrived to pick up our pizza was sitting out on a table with 3 other orders. By the time we got home, most of the heat had dissipated. It was tasty enough, but I can't see how it measured up to the high reviews given. While this was pretty good, There are other local pizza places that are better.
google avatar

Pat F.

Yelp
Great views - Food was delicious as well. I had to request balsamic vinegar for my salad when it traditionally comes with it but I must say the bread and pizza crust was amazing
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Absolutely the best pizza in town! The atmosphere is quaint and enjoyable. The service is always friendly and above par compared to other restaurants. And the food is supremely amazing! Definitely the best pizza in El Paso and in my opinion. And I like just about all the pizza places. Because it's really hard to make a bad pizza even with a flour tortilla. But this pizza is so well crafted with incredibly delicious ingredients that you quickly realize you're going to miss this pizza the next day as soon as you wake up in the morning for breakfast! Go there...now...seriously

Cam R.

Yelp
Food was great, ambiance was even better. Especially when the sun was setting and getting to watch from their great patio area. The mozzarella cheese is said to be homemade on certain pizzas. Smaller parking lot so you have to be patient for a spot. It was on the pricey side but what isn't these days for quality.
google avatar

Yelp
Everyone was so nice and the Nutella desert was HUGE and amazing. It made us all feel so warm and cozy! We just went for desert and coffee but the food also looked delicious!
