"An unimposing cafe in a strip mall in downtown Fort Bragg, Café Jaavy is more than the sum of its parts. The specialty here is Mexican breakfasts, including substantial, customizable breakfast burritos, wonderfully smooth refried beans, and fresh fruit juices and smoothies. The chilaquiles are excellent — order them “divorciados,” with both red and green sauce — and are widely considered the best in Mendocino County. There are also “American” options, like berry-banana crepes with cream cheese and French toast with Fort Bragg Bakery’s cinnamon raisin bread. Portions are large, reasonably priced, and served on oilcloth-draped tables in the restaurant’s small dining room.
