Ava Rooftop Bar Opens in Downtown | Eater Nashville

"Starting in April, Sean Brock is opening up the kitchen and lab at June on select Wednesday nights for cooking classes; each class will walk through how to prepare a three-course meal from start to finish in the June kitchen followed by an in-depth tour of the lab, after which guests will get to enjoy the results in Brock’s private library. Each class will feature new dishes and can be accompanied by a wine or zero-proof pairing for an additional cost; the first class is April 3 at 5:30 p.m. and costs $250 per person." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

The honey strawberry waffle and jasmine tea were good. They put salted cheese on the waffle, but it tasted a little bit weird for me. I personally recommend that it should be whipped cream. Overall, it was very good.

Cafe June is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a truly lovely ambiance. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. What really sets Cafe June apart is their fantastic vinyl collection. Browsing through their records is a treat in itself, and the music adds such a cool and unique vibe to the cafe. I also adored the charming vine plants that added a touch of natural beauty to the space. And let's not forget the essentials – the coffee and cakes! Cafe June boasts a really nice selection of both. The coffee was delicious and expertly made, and the cakes looked absolutely tempting (and tasted even better!). If you're looking for a cafe with character, great taste in music, beautiful surroundings, and delicious treats, look no further than Cafe June. I highly recommend it!

Lovely cafe with food, desserts, coffee and even smoothies. The menu is surprisingly large for how small the kitchen looks. The ladies (who are super kind and good at customer service) behind the counter really try to work fast to get your order out. Everything is made to order. Sandwiches, waffles, bowls, breakfast burritos are all some of the things on the food menu. Best item by far is the pistachio latte. It comes iced with this amazing sweet pistachio foam on top. Pistachio bits on top of that. It is my favorite coffee drink from anywhere. Chipotle burrito was very good. Thought it looked small at first but it’s filled! Egg, turkey bacon, hash brown, cheese, tomatoes and grilled onions. The onions really turn it up and make it very savory. They also have these mini cakes in the display case - we tried the mango one. It was SO good! The cream icing was mixed with fresh mango in some layers. For 7.99 I think it was a really good price for what you get. The cafe itself is also so cute, clean and has a cool vibe. You want to sit there and drink coffee or do work. Every time we are traveling to ellicott city we make sure to stop in. Recommended.

Such a splendid experience. The food, the friendly service, atmosphere, drinks were all good. Would love to visit again. There is a 90 min time limit due to the space. My only negative comment is that they use bare hands handling the waffle.

Cafe June is a hidden yet popular gem in Ellicott City. The cafe has a wooden and natural vibe, somewhere teleworkers may feel comfortable setting up their laptop. Parking in the small lot out front and finding a table will be difficult during busy hours but there's more parking nearby. We found a shared table near a woman with her laptop and it was perfectly comfortable, you won't feel squished. There are signs politely requesting that guests limit their stay to a very generous 90 minutes so other customers may have seating. We spent $35 for a large sweet cream cold brew, large dark chocolate frappe, pesto sunrise sandwich and the tomato basil soup with three slim baguettes. The drinks were very, very tasty and quickly made. The cold brew was especially good and the frappe was decadent, similar to a smoothie. The sandwich and tomato soup, although tasty, were smaller portions for the price, however it's Ellicott City and the higher price is expected considering the area. I wish I saw a grilled cheese on the menu, perhaps I missed it but that plus some salad options would be nice additions. The small portions and price are why I gave 4 stars overall. If the portions were slightly larger or the costs were a little less this would be 5 stars easily. The staff we interacted with were all very kind and quick. The establishment is clean, comfortable and many food/drink options for all diets. We sincerely look forward to returning to Cafe June!

It was very tiring day to run around, and it was hard to find anything opened on Sunday around Baltimore. This place was open until 8pm, so I decided to give a try. They didnt have coffee ready to go, but offered drop coffee for the late afternoon. It was rather small, but very properly done. I really liked the coffee. Also the place was clean and neatly decorated with old vinyl records, and staffs were friendly.

I come here all the time to get my fix of sweets. By far my favorite thing on the menu is the croffle with ice cream and blueberries. It's a simple sweet dessert, that has the warm crunchiness of the croffle paired with the cool sweetness of the ice cream, and bits of freshness with the blueberries. Recently tried one of the mini cakes - raspberry - wasn't that good. Very plain, way too much cream, and very tart raspberries. But the pistachio latte was SO GOOD! I don't even like coffee but I had to stop myself from chugging the whole thing. This drink is for sweet lovers like myself. Overall the atmosphere is very chill, lots of people come here to work/study/chat so it can get quite noisy when at peak business. Also the seats fill up quick so if you plan on eating in you have to find a table before ordering. Otherwise it's very cozy, like a less corporate Cafe Bene for those who are familiar.

This cafe quite literally melted my heart, 1950s music, gluten free waffles, delicious coffee. What else could I need? This cafe brought warmth and joy! Thank you.
