With some fanfare in Popville, I was excited to give it a go since the pictures of the chicken and sandwiches all looked quite good. But knowing the history of that location, I definitely walked up the steps to Cafe Mia with tempered expectations.
I stepped in for a quick lunch and noticed that the space was pretty much kept the same, with a few tables and some bar seating towards the entrance. Most of the side dishes are already prepped and sitting in warmers, which I figure it pretty typical and not necessarily a knock. I decided to go with the quarter dark to test out the quality of the rotisserie along with a esquites and mac n' cheese as sides. The former of which was delicious while the latter was eh. But for the star, the chicken was actually quite good. And that's coming from the guy who really doesn't like ordering chicken out since it so often ends up dry and tasteless. But not so here at Cafe Mia.
While I didn't get to try any of their sandwiches, which do sound great off the menu and look great on instagram, I think the chicken plate earned them another visit for this hungry eater.
