"The Russian Hill outpost of this SF-based mini chain serves great morning-time dishes like sandwiches with fluffy eggs and thick bacon, and refreshing acai bowls with housemade granola. It gets pretty busy on weekends, but things move along quickly—and the high-ceilinged, white-walled space always has more than enough tables. Strong espresso drinks, an efficient counter-service operation, and tons of sidewalk seating also make this cafe an ideal setting for quick breakfast hangs or a treat after running errands in the area." - Julia Chen

Got the breakfast sandwich with "the works" to go. The greens, vinegar, olive oil (?) made it delicious. Convenient for eating in car. Long wait though

Google
Review for Reveille, San Francisco The food at Reveille is decent, and the croissants are delicious, but the experience is ruined by the incredibly rude and slow staff. Despite being located in the heart of San Francisco, the service is shockingly poor. To make matters worse, they add a mandatory 3% service charge, which feels unjustified given the attitude and inefficiency of the staff. I wouldn’t recommend leaving additional tips. The food may be good, but the unpleasant service makes it hard to enjoy.

Google
This has become mine and my partner’s go-to coffee shop for lunch, iced coffee and doing a little reading. The food is fresh, delicious and they serve a good portion. They have a good variety of freshly made juices & smoothies and the coffee is on point too! Most of the staff are really nice and attentive. It’s not the type of place where one would stay for hours, considering that the booths/chairs are not super comfy but it’s more like a 1 hour lunch or coffee date kinda setting.

Gemma Boothroyd

Google
Shocked by the low rating here. It’s a great place to work remote from (good wifi and fair amount of seating). I also really enjoyed my kale chicken salad. Pricy? Yes, but not dissimilar to other SF cafés.

Joe Peters

Google
Stopped by for a sandwich and was surprised to see that they have a good selection, including a smash burger, fried fish, and many more. Vegetarian choices are available, too. I had the fried cod. Good but I'd prefer a different kind of bun (no options given) as the brioche is a bit soft for that sort of sandwich. Seating indoors was full so I opted to sit outside as it was a warm enough day. One of the staff brought the food out. Wait time wasn't too bad - just a few minutes in the line. It's the sort of place one can go back to time & again and have something different each time.

Google
Cafe Réveille is one of my favorite spots on Polk! The coffee is always on point, the food is fresh, and the space has such a nice, relaxed vibe. It’s great for a quick stop or a longer hangout, and the staff is always super welcoming. Definitely a go-to for good coffee and good energy!

This Cafe has just been open for a couple of years, It is popular for its open high- ceiling, cleanliness, elegant atmosphere. It has a sense of elegant yet down-to-earth space that lures younger and middle-aged generations to gather for socializing or small business meetings. this place is usually busy in the morning, they have sidewalk tables sitting. Their food is focused on total health close to vegetarian food. Although you can relax and have a cup of late and croissant.

It's a nice place to work or rest for a while. Friendly and helpful staff, modern vibe. Maybe one of the better coffee shops I have been in SF.

Yelp
I came here to get some work done, and it was the perfect place to do so. The service was magnificent, the ambiance was airy and light, and there were plenty of others productively working (but also many just enjoying time with friends or family) in my row of seating. I ordered the plantain bowl, which was so good, though I wish the plantains were cooked a little softer. But wow, the intermingling of so many flavors and textures was so filling, hearty, and delicious; in addition to the fried plantain there were black beans, half an avocado, red cabbage, tomato, scallions, quinoa, lentils, and brown rice atop a bed of a smokey sauce and an avocado cilantro sauce. I also ordered the red juice, which (although pricey) was good; the ginger was present but not overpowering, which was an unexpected and welcome balance struck.

Yelp
Looking for a cute, casual spot for a quiet bite or coffee? Or a cafe to work from? Then Cafe Reveille is a great spot. What I love most is their ambience. It's the perfect spot to get some reading done or catch up on work since there's a lot of seating with ample light. Their food menu ranges from sweet and savory bowls to sandwiches and burritos to pastries. Their drink menu also includes coffee, tea, juices, smoothies, and more. There's a ton of options to pick and choose from, I'm sure someone is bound to find something. Matcha Lattes - just OK, wish it had more matcha flavor. Espresso and Lattes - also just OK. Nothing bad, but also nothing memorable. Acai bowl - the most popular bowl as one of the workers recommended and first thing I noticed was that it had a lot of toppings. Fries - probably the best IMO except they doused it in salt. Otherwise, the texture was perfect with a good balance between the crispy edges and the soft, starchy insides. This place gives "girl dinner" energy and it's the vibes that's probably bringing people in.

Yelp
Food: 3 Decor: 3 Service: 3 Came here a few times for brunch. Overall pretty good and would come back. BREAKFAST BURRITO WITH BLACK BEANS, AVOCADO, SALSA ROJA, POTATO, SCRAMBLED EGG AND CHEDDAR 12.00 W/ BACON OR MERGUEZ 13.50 3/5. Decent breakfast burrito although pretty standard. Probably would have liked it to be crispier on the outside with some hot sauce. Service was fine. You order and pay at the front before you grab a number and get seated.

Christina L.

Yelp
Cafe Reveille never disappoints! I came by on a Sunday afternoon after funky yoga down the street. My friend and I were in the mood for something healthy and light. Fries and kale salad for me. She got a sandwich with bacon, focaccia and other delicious ingredients. I really enjoyed this spot and I think they updated their parklets recently. Inside is bright and airy too. :) Would recommend!

Krista C.

Yelp
Very cute cafe! Lots of yummy looking options for food. Staff was super friendly. Matcha was very delicious. Music was a little loud in the cafe.

Vignesh B.

Yelp
Love this spot! Used to be my go-to throughout the pandemic. The matcha and coffee are both terrific. They have some food options too but not big on those. The place is cute, has wifi and open "late" for sf cafe standards (7:30pm). The inside seating gets busy often, the parklet is great on warmer days.

Namratha P.

Yelp
I loved the brunch at Cafe Reveille! So many options, and so many vegetarian options that are not the usual ones you find at any brunch place! I got the crunchy salad and it was yum! I tried some of the shakshuka as well and will for sure get that next time! There are many other items I want to try as well so will definitely be going back!

Vivian T.

Yelp
Amazing spot to study at with free wifi! It was nice and cozy but the seating is a little tight. I loved the interior and design of the cafe

Justin K.

Yelp
Can someone tell me, what in the Sarah Jessica Parker is going on? Cafe Reveille is a really sweet spot, to grab a cappuccino and croissant. Bonus that they're open late until 7:30pm so late birds like me can get a quality artisan espresso drink at 5pm. N'est-ce pas?

Patsy L.

Yelp
Came here on a weekend at about 2p. There were quite a few people. They have indoor & outdoor seating. There were available yables when we got there. Service was good. Place was clean. Ambiance is your typical chill, place to gather with friends, or solo vibe. Wasn't too noisy or quiet. Each of us ordered food & ate it all. So that tells you it was good. My friends got the burger & Tahini squash bowl (salad). I got the mushroom hash (I think it was hash). It was good & tasty. I'd order it again. Also, I ordered a latte w/almond milk w/light ice. Coffee was good as well. I'd definitely come back.

Emma G.

Yelp
For 6 bucks you would want your croissant to be delicious. Instead is the stalest thing I've ever tried to consume, guessing they're about a week old given how bad it is

Alexander H.

Yelp
Cappuccino is pretty good but not great. Service is always quick. Very nice place inside and outdoor seating available however the benches inside are a little high for the low tables making it difficult to eat

Amanda A.

Yelp
Came in for breakfast & it was absolutely delicious. I had the chilaquiles and it was very savory. Highly recommend for breakfast.

Jorge C.

Yelp
Food use to be good and burritos use to come with a green sauce . I just got a Togo order and no burrito green sauce . I couldn't even order coffee from a coffee shop because they didn't even have it on their online menu . Very disappointed eating the burrito with no sauce. Also , I ordered with bacon but it did not come with any.

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Cute cafe serving brunchy foods and smoothies and juices! Made a quick stop here after a long run and got the cho nanner smoothie -- almond butter, cocoa, banana, oats. For $11 this was a perfect post run pick me up! So refreshing and creamy and surprisingly not too sweet. The almond butter flavor shines through. Friendly staff, a good amount of seating inside and outside, and a very healthy menu! Definitely want to come back and try their juices too.

Troy B.

Yelp
This place is SO cute and a solid spot for coffee, brunch, or a quick lunch. We came by on a Saturday morning, and there was a bit of a line but still some seating left. We got a Matcha Latte, a Latte, an Acai Bowl, and the Breakfast Burrito. The food and drinks came out fairly quickly. Every item was so good and memorable. The Matcha Latte was the perfect amount of matcha flavor, and the Breakfast Burrito was well-balanced, but my favorite item was probably the Acai Bowl. This was loaded with toppings, and the acai base was creamy, thick, and very tasty. The menu here is expansive, so I'll definitely be back to try the other items!

Angelina Z.

Yelp
The interior is super cute and sunny. It's a good place to catch up with friends, but difficult to get work done (glare from the sun + no outlets). I got an iced cappuccino, which was a bit sour and not quite my style. The food looked quite yummy though.

Andrea B.

Yelp
I been giving this place so many chances! Today I will said was the top! And the last one! I got a smoothie to go and a side I tip leave to seat outside 10 m past and I see no one doing the smoothies wish is by the register 2 plp in the phone with the back to the counter!anyway My smoothie was not even started Bad for the owners

Sarah M.

Yelp
honestly i don't think i get the hype, a decent place but not a place that i'd repeat. i've been to this location and the one in haight and that's enough for me.

Sophie F.

Yelp
A cute refreshing little cafe. Offers up quick service and excellent food and beverage options. It's dog friendly and great for a quick stop on your daily walk. There's almost always a line but it usually moves quite quickly!

Robert O.

Yelp
Bright, spacious, great breakfasts (shatshuka, mushrooms+potatoes+eggs), terrific sixties music, very friendly staff. Above expectations.

Haley C.

Yelp
Cute light and airy cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are helpful but the service is slow if you get more than just coffee. Food is delicious but the seats are uncomfortable at the indoor tables

Ella W.

Yelp
Great coffee shop with so much sunlight! Spacious parklet for dining outside, which also makes this place dog friendly. As I'm enjoying my latte (that's beautiful btw), I noticed this place also serves food, such as burgers and fries. I did see the açaí bowls and salad on the menu, but burgers and fries at a coffee shop! YES PLEASE!

Mari C.

Yelp
I really like this chain, and this location is one of their best, in my opinion. The space is pleasant and spacious, with friendly staff and a clean environment. They offer plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. I particularly enjoy some of their dishes, and some are perfect for a quick and easy dinner. Their falafel sandwich is fantastic. My only wish is that they stayed open a bit later.

Brett G.

Yelp
Pretty great food and drinks at a little above market prices in brightly lit, white interior. The bowls are delicious, can recommend them all. Their chilaquiles was not very traditional but was also surprisingly refreshing. Service was good albeit a little slow. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating albeit the tables are a little low and seating uncomfortable.

Lucia K.

Yelp
So, I guess this is a chain now? For years I went to a Cafe Reveille in Cole Valley and loved it. But that place closed. I've now visited this Cafe Reveille on Nob Hill (well, Polk Street location, anyway. Is that really Nob Hill?) twice. It has such a bright inviting vibe, especially with the white paint and the high ceilings. I wanted to love it or even just like it. But I'm sorry to say I don't. For one thing, the designer or owner or whoever planned the seating must be 6 feet tall and think everyone else is, too. The benches (and I've got nothing against bench seating) are horribly uncomfortable. I'm 5'2" and my feet cannot touch the ground and my legs are at a really awkward angle. It's like they want you to finish your drink as fast as possible so you won't linger (I say this knowing that the new BART car seats were specifically designed to be just "that much" higher than the former seats to discourage folks from loitering - which I heard from a BART insider. I got that same feeling with the too-high-benches at Cafe Reveille. Then there's the food: the menu is limited but looks really nice on paper. But when I ordered the squash tahini bowl, I found the seasoning out of balance (too much peppery flavor, and lacking in salt) and actually had to ask for salt. I cannot recall ever asking for salt before anywhere and normally think food dining out is over salted. Also, it's $$$. On my first visit, I ordered a chai latte and it was over $5 for a small cup and tasted like spiced water. I'm truly reluctant to put this in writing but the Starbucks chai latte (if you order it with fewer pumps of the syrup, which is too sweet) is better and less expensive per ounce. Speaking of cost, on my second visit for a light supper, I got a can of rose' wine and that tahini bowl I mentioned and it was $25+. Yikes!! (But I still tipped. I always tip unless something terribly rude or wrong takes place). Finally, the staff isn't overly friendly. Not welcoming or like they're glad to see you, or even care. Nor are they rude. They're just flatly "there." So, I'm kind of scratching my head as to the appeal of this place, and I'm truly sorry to report that.

Katilyn P.

Yelp
I love this place!! Great coffee, a good vibe, and the bowls are so good. The price for a hearty bowl with protein and rice and veggies is about $15 which is not bad for the city. If you want to bring your computer to work, you're definitely welcome to! Although FYI there are no power outlets on the floor. Can't wait to keep coming back! I love the coffee, too.

Zurab G.

Yelp
Staff is not polite. Its like, they are forcing themself to smile, say thank you or please. Looks like a bunch of F1 visa students, just working for hours to be able to travel in USA. Food is O K, nothing special at all. What sucks is that, it could be a very good place if it was ran properly and with a good, welcoming attitude. I live in this neighborhood, and there are tons of other similar places. Lot of competition for Reveille. There is always a choice. Just take it as an advice Reveille!

John G.

Yelp
The lady at the register Maria I think it's her name, had an attitude and did not provide basic customer service. Now in regard to the product, the coffee tasted bland. There's no love going into this business. I will not come back. Ps: The customer behind me also had an issue with her coffee being flat. Tasteless.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast / brunch Got the classic burger. Girlfriend got the breakfast burrio and the sup beach. I also got an orange juice. Everything was really good. My go-to smoothie is the coco-nut. Have got this a number of times and is always great. Will add some photos to next time I'm back here.

Fernando G.

Yelp
I visited this cafe and noticed how hot it was when I first walked in. I asked the staff if they could turn the AC or fans on but to my supiese they said there wasn't any. I had to leave because it was extremely uncomfortable being there because of that temperature especially with this heatwave. I felt bad for the staff who have to work there, so wishing the best for this place as Ive heard a lot of good reviews.

Michelle K.

Yelp
I'm not a coffee person at all but I loved this café! It's so bright and lively inside. The white walls and decoration make the place seem so calming! I noticed a lot of people coming in here to work and chat. I would definitely come back here one day to sit and work on my laptop! I thought the prices for their drinks were extremely reasonable as well. Especially for a café in San Francisco and for how aesthetic it is!

Bennett W.

Yelp
Some items I tried: - Latte (hot and iced) - Chocolate Frangí Twist - Golden Potatoes - French Fries This is a great spot to get breakfast, brunch, and / or lunch. I usually just come here for pastry and latte. Recently, I dig into more, the Golden Potatoes and French Fries. The Golden Potatoes come with that crispy, crunchy taste, making it a perfect breakfast item. For the French Fries, it is so delicious and a perfect choice even if I ordered it as a side. Oh, the Chocolate Frangí Twist is a perfect pair with coffee. Available: - indoor and outdoor seating (for dine in) Ordering takeout is always a good choice. Especially when you are on the way to work, a meeting, or in between errands. Reasons for rating: - friendly staff - good food - good service

Samantha W.

Yelp
Super cute cafe with a wide variety of food and drink choices! The interior is very aesthetically pleasing. However, the let down was that the staff was rude. The drinks were reasonably priced. I got the iced matcha latte which was priced to be $5.50. I sadly didn't enjoy it. It was super watered down and you taste no matcha. All you taste is milk and water. I also got the classic burger. It was pretty good. The fries were seasoned and the burger was not dry.

Isaac A.

Yelp
That breakfast burrito is FIYA!!!! It has some really great chimichurri sauce too. My partner had the sausage burrito and said it was a bit greasy but yummy. The prosciutto was also really good. So pick your meat, can't go wrong.

Linda R.

Yelp
Nice employees and great coffee. Clearly popular as every seat was taken. Slow service. Clean.

Rosie N.

Yelp
Great food! Came here on a Saturday afternoon and wait wasn't too long. Seating was pretty easy to find as well. Tahini Squash Bowl: yummy and filling! Wish the salad was a little more acidic as it got tiring towards the end. Grilled Chicken Sandwich: Amazing, no complaints. Fries were 10/10. Good to have the two options to switch between.

Amanda F.

Yelp
I was finally able to sit have coffee, get breakfast, and do some work. 9am and all tables were filled and there was a short line. Lots of people working. By the time I ordered the tables cleared and I was able to get a spot. Service was great, fast, and kind. Great music as well. The area is clean and bathroom is clean as well. I ordered an almond milk latte and breakfast bowl. The latte was yummy there was a nutty taste to the coffee and it wasn't too bitter. The breakfast bowl was amazing. Healthy, light, and filling. Great flavors, especially the green tahini. Not sure how parking is since I walked over but there might be street parking. Definitely recommend!

Sabrina T.

Yelp
Found a fake nail in my crunchy bowl takeout which was bad enough, but then when I reached out via their website to ask for a refund I didn't even get a response. Obviously this is beyond disgusting.

Dixie M.

Yelp
Excellent food! I ordered breakfast burrito, very tasty, filled with eggs, beans, sauces. Ordered online and they were prompt. I'm a fan now.

Guiseppe W.

Yelp
Unprofessional kitchen staff I ordered the yogurt with the granola and the fruit. I've ordered this before and it's always been easy. They kept getting it wrong. I was friendly each time. Here's what happened: First try: yogurt, granola, compote, (no fruit). I brought it to the kitchen staff and they said they made a mistake, since the compote is for to go orders. So, he said he, "remove the compote, add the fruit". Second try: yogurt, granola, compote, fruit. He said "no compote" and I didn't order it with compote. I asked if they could remove the compote. Third try: yogurt, fruit and no granola. I went and asked for a cup of granola to put on it. He said couldn't make changes anymore. Fourth try. Someone else on the staff realized the granola was missing and brought us a cup with some. I went and talked to the front staff and shared it was challenging to get this right. I was friendly. I didn't ask for a refund, I just wanted to let them know there were communication issues. She offered a refund on one of the yogurts. I mentioned I wasn't asking for a refund, but she said it was already done. That was kind of her to do. A minute later, someone from the kitchen came out and was mad at me for getting a refund on one of the yogurts. I didn't even understand what he was saying at first, just that he was mad. I finally understood he was mad that they gave me a refund. He said it wasn't right. I didn't even ask for the refund. Anyway, there are mistakes, which everyone can make. There were a lot here, but we can all do our best to be friendly as we work through it. But, being mean isn't appropriate. This turned into a stressful morning. I've liked this place in the past and anyone can have a bad day. I hope they can take some learnings here to improve.

Jewelia C.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop with great music. Staff was friendly and coffee was great. Liked that there's a range of seating both indoor and outdoor. The indoor seats were a bit awkward though as the seating heights were not the same. Great for people there on their own working though. Didn't try any food but photos looked great and would love to try next time!

Ricky K.

Yelp
Modern vibes and a great place to chill out or to work! I came here to work on my essay and it was such a great place just to do that. The interior of the place is all white, and there were a good amount of tables too. Especially if you go around noon, you get lots of good sunshine through the windows and it's a great place to come catch up with some buddies. They even have outdoor seating as well which is really nice. When I go, I never usually see it too crowded either. And that's good because I don't like crowded cafes. They also provide you with wifi as well. I first got their matcha latte with oat milk. It was okay. I definitely had better but if you want your matcha fix it's still a solid place to come to for that. I do think it's one of the better spots to get a hot matcha in the Nob Hill area. And it's a cafe so they do latte art which is nice! Instead of them bringing it to you, they'll call it out for you to pick up near the cashier. For my meal, I ended up getting the Tahini Squash Bowl. I loved everything in that bowl. It was healthy, hearty, and it had good flavor overall form the Tahini. I would come back again. Since I live here it's easy for me to bring my stuff to just do work, and I do think it's worth coming here to try out. It's essentially your neighborhood friendly cafe in the area.

Catherine L.

Yelp
Solid coffees and teas Specializes in great ambiance for a simple coffee date or study session

Darina H.

Yelp
My friends and I visited Cafe Reveille this past weekend for a casual brunch. This cafe already had a line out the door before we got there (which is a good sign). Lots of seating available inside and outside. Friendly staff, lots of options for those with a variety of diet preferences. Lots of pastries and coffee / tea options as well for grab and go. I ordered the kale salad (quinoa, avocado, cucumber, currants, almonds, and fresh herbs) with dressing on the side (the dressing was sumac and lemon). I also added grilled chicken on top. My friend ordered the chilaquiles- with salsa roja, crema, fried eggs, radish, onion, cilantro, queso fresco, avocado, black beans! It was really good (I did happen to taste test for quality purposes). My other friend ordered the homestyle breakfast- two eggs, smashed golden potato, toast, bacon, w/ avocado. A great little spot for casual breakfast, brunch and lunch options! Lots of seating options and seems to be family / dog friendly too! Good food, wish the service was a TAD bit better...I wish my food came out faster.

Giselle P.

Yelp
My wife + I were in the area and stopped by for a quick coffee and parfait on our courthouse wedding day, we loved this little place so much, we celebrated here again the next day

Lauren v.

Yelp
i really like coming here to bring my laptop and work for a few hours. service is great too. the only issue i have is the music. it's quite loud and the beat is extremely distracting even with headphones on. maybe something a little more jazz-y or turning down the bass so it's not as much of a constant thumping beat would help. truly my only complaint with this place

Karen C.

Yelp
Tahini butternut squash salad bowl. Beautiful, healthy, and delicious! Portion was perfect and the freshness really came through. Loved every bite!

The Q.

Yelp
Chilequilles on fire! And the coconut ice cream breakfast bowl left nothing to be desired. This review is late but, I am literally on my way there now. Staff is prompt, and have a seamless system in place. Be sure to read the menu and ask questions just in case you want to make changes. The ambiance was busy but pleasant. A great place to read or sit and do work of huh can find seating. 10/10 definitely recommend!
