The Best Pancakes In NYC

"This Viennese cafe is on the first floor of the Neue Gallery, across the street from Central Park. Breakfast is our favorite meal here, and it always starts either with a kaffe krème or an einspänner. If you’re a sweet breakfast person, get an order of Kaisershmarren, a fluffy caramelized pancake that gets chopped up and served with roasted fruit." - carina finn koeppicus, kenny yang, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah

The Best Restaurants On The Upper East Side

"This Viennese cafe in the Neue Galerie is useful for a fancy breakfast or lunch near Central Park, especially if you like the sound of drinking bracingly strong kaffee creme next to a Bösendorfer grand piano. We usually order wienerschnitzel (the best in the city) or bavarian sausage served with a soft pretzel, and sweets like sachertorte and apfelstrudel." - willa moore, neha talreja, will hartman, sonal shah

19 Places to Eat and Drink on the Upper East Side

"Known more as a konditorei in the Neue Galerie rather than a sit-down restaurant, Cafe Sabarsky does nevertheless offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner with dishes like goulash, schnitzel and spatzle, salads, liverwurst sandwiches, and sausages. Grab a bite and allow yourself to linger in a room with wood, marble, and neighborhood views adjacent to Central Park." - Eater Staff

Where To Eat Before Or After Visiting The Museums

"Near: The Guggenheim If you haven’t eaten enough wienerschnitzel in your life—which is likely, and perfectly acceptable—you’re in luck, because now you’re in New York, and we have everything here. Café Sabarsky is just a three-minute walk from the Guggenheim, and has wienerschnitzel as well as apfelstrudel, and kaffee creme if you just need a pick-me-up after winding your way down the Guggenheim ramp. It’s walk-in only during the day, though you shouldn’t have much of a problem if you’re going between prime meal times. But in case there is a long wait, ask if you can be seated downstairs. It’s slightly less atmospheric, but the kaffee creme is just as creamy. " - neha talreja, willa moore

Where To Go On A Date When You've Been Together Forever

"The breakfast date is highly underrated, but longtime couples know that sometimes true romance happens in the morning. Come here before 11:30 to sip kaffe kremes, eat kaiserschmarren, and feel like you’re on a cafe crawl through Vienna. This restaurant is inside of an art museum and across the street from Central Park, so the itinerary for the rest of your day date pretty much writes itself. " - carina finn koeppicus, hannah albertine, neha talreja
