The Best Chicken Wings In Philadelphia - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"East Oak Lane is one of the best neighborhoods in the city to eat amazing Korean food. And Cafe Soho’s large and well-seasoned wings are worth the trip to Cheltenham Avenue if you don’t live nearby. The fried chicken here is crunchy without being overdone. When you bite into one of our favorites, the garlic soy wings, you’ll taste a great blend of saltiness and sweetness on each sticky wing." - candis mclean

BEST FRIED CHICKEN WINGS AROUND!!! We have been going here for years since I was back in High School! Their fried chicken wings have always been very consistent and have never disappoint! We always get the Spicy Bone-in Wings & Soy Garlic Bone-in Wings every time we go there! But seems like the Soy Garlic is the biggest hit! Their French Fries are also very good. Korean pancake is also a hit! Their Pineapple Soju used to come out in a nicer presentation where the soju is filled inside of a pineapple, but now they just put it in a jug, which is not as photo worthy as what it used to be. The kids love these wings! We dine here at least once a month to satisfy our fried chicken cravings! All-in-all, the staffs and food are decent. 😊👍

Google
The food here is great !!! i literally cannot control myself. There’s a problem though. The service is trash trash trash. I got there and the lady was in the back left at a table with a coworker laughing and cracking jokes while me and my wife +baby were just standing there for 5 minutes, waiting for a seat. It took me yelling across the restaurant for them to give me attention and seat us. After I was seated they followed none of my directions about the order in which i wanted my food to come out. Like why would you bring us our appetizers with our main dishes, especially after i told you to bring them first because i noticed it was taking longer than usual. I love the food here but the service is trash and not work the drive especially when bonchon is closer to me. Fix the service and you’ll have more customers.

Google
Defonitely the best korean fried chicken place ever in the east coast. The coat is so crisp and airy, love it!!! I came in for lunch today the chicken is definitely much better because of fresh oil. I suggest the restaurant always changing the oil frequently because last time when i came later at night the chicken tasted a bit burned due to the old oil. Anyways highly recommended place!!

Google
Charming eatery with friendly-social staff. This place definitely is one of the few places to get authentic Korean style chicken. The only drawback is the music. I love k-pop and all, but I do wish they put the music at a lower level. I can't hear what I'm asked by the staffs and I hold a conversation, which can be overstimulating. 😂😂

Google
The best Korean fried chicken wings in town! Never disappointed me once. I always order their half and half with spicy sauce and soy garlic. Their wings are so delicious and crispy. This place is still on my top #1 list of best Korean fried chicken wings. No other places can beat this one yet in Philadelphia. Even when I order to go, their wings are still crispy and flavorful after I get home an hour later. You must try their Korean soju fruit drinks, especially pineapple soju. It is so good and refreshing. A must try! Service is excellent as always and they have plenty of seats available, because more people are coming for take out. The atmosphere is nice with Korean music videos are playing on their big screen TVs. Even though it takes me 40 minutes to get there, I still come back for their chicken.

Google
My buddy had been raving about their wings for months and we finally found some time to go. He was definitely right! These wings are the real deal. Great flavor, lot of meat on the bone, and aren't too hot. The seafood pancake was a great appetitzer to prep us for the wings. Friendly and helpful staff made our time there even easier. Will be back here in the future

Google
Service was terrible. The tables remained dirty and uncleared for a long time. Had to wait for simple dishes for a long time, over 30 minutes. The chicken was admittedly tasty. But the fried rice had no flavor at all. It was seasoned with only salt and pepper. Terrible vegetable to rice ratio. It tasted like someone dumped a frozen bag of mixed veggies on some rice. Disappointed. Overpriced as well. Barely any vegan options. Don't bother.

Google
The food is a little on the expensive side, but the large order of the boneless fried chicken was a deceptively large portion. The chicken has an addictive crunch and did not feel too greasy. We tried the spicy and seasonal flavors which somewhat similar but both declines. The sauce on the bang bang shrimp was actually our favorite flavor!

Yelp
Great chicken wings, probably, the best wings I have tried! Price is a little high, but the food is very good! Good ambiance with K-Pop music in the background! I'll be back!

Yelp
I've had their chicken quite a few times and it is always good. I decided to try something else on their menu, I picked the shrimp fried rice. Now theirs were a little different from the regular Chinese shrimp fried. They put cheese in it! Yes you saw it Cheese, I'm not sure if this was a Korean cheese or something else. The was like a Mozzarella cheese and it had A very good cheese pull they all put egg in it. Not chopped up but a whole cooked in the middle of the rice. Picture a layer of rice then a layer of egg and cheese and another layer of rice. What I like is that they used a Styrofoam carryout container but they used aluminum foil in the container That's a plus for me.

Yelp
Apologies, I will have to visit this establishment again and get pictures. I was so hungry I ate all the wings way too fast and forgot to take a photo of them. Parking in this area is not that tough. There's a parking lot around the corner on the same block! Lots of light as well so easy to see so you don't trip and fall while walking to the restaurant. I was the first to arrive in my group and I was met with a very kind front of house staff. Their shirts are cool! It's the demon slayer anime logo but it says wing slayer. The restaurant is in an older diner style with red upholstered booths everywhere, they do have regular tables and chairs too, and a ton of rooster statues. The bathroom is very clean. The staff is very busy but if you press the button at the end of the table someone will be there shortly to help you! My table ordered a large bone in chicken win plate that was half spicy, half soy garlic. The chicken wings looked oddly puffy (at first glance they look like the unseasoned chicken used in orange chicken at Chinese take out places) but after taking one bite I understood why. They were so crispy, the double fry method is king. The meat was super juicy too. I inhaled the wings. I would personally give these wings an 8.5/10 to 9/10. I drove across the mainline for 1.5 hours (202 to 309) during prime rush hour traffic to get here and I would do it again. They do have daikon radish on the side as well to help cleanse your palate if you need it. Very thoughtful. The watermelon soju cocktail arrived in a 1L pitcher and they provided shot glasses instead of cups. It's so delicious. It is like an Aqua Fresca but closer to a slushy smoothie. Very refreshing to contrast the savory and sweet fried chicken. I have to go again and get pictures of the chicken.

Yelp
Couldn't figure out the parking in the rear. The food was okay. Was there when there were no other customers and the service was okay. Payment by touchscreen. Although I don't t know why I was asked to tip on a pick up order
google avatar

Amelia C.

Yelp
Extra crispy wings. I like that the batter is not too thick on the wings and has a good crunch. Bulgogi kimbap tasted exactly as it's supposed to. We got half Korean seasoned and half sweet chili. Both flavors had a slight kick to it. The wings came with a side of pickled radish--their radish is on the sweeter side.

Yelp
Hands down theeeeee best Korean fried chicken I've ever had. I usually get the large order, half soy and half spicy. Honestly I don't care about anything else on the menu besides the bone in chicken wings. I typically order for pick up but the few times I've dined in, the service was quite pleasant. There's K-pop videos playing and at times there's anime on the screen... it's fun. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Best wings! I was recommended to come here for the wings and was not disappointed. They had quick service and a decent selection of options. We were able to get some flavors/foods we never had before. The portion sizes are quite nice as well - nice for sharing. There were tv's on in the background with some k-pop and a sports game which was fun as well.

Yelp
Sorry, Cafe Soho, but $20 for 10 wings is unacceptable. You raised your prices during the pandemic, but then you raised them again. I've been coming here for years, but the last time I was here(a couple of years ago) the wings had hardly any meat on them. Although I live three blocks away, I'd rather go to bb.q down the street @ More Food Court atop H Mart, save $6 and get a better quality product.

Yelp
Don't eat chicken wings too often but heard this place is top tier, and it lives up to that. Probably some of the best made wings I've had, plus the sauces are amazing as well. Perfectly fried. They have boba slushees which are also great. Definitely go out of your way to come up to try their food. Lots of seating with good atmosphere inside, staff nice. It's a bit on the pricier side for a few things but we'll worth it. Overall great experience.

Yelp
I think they provided the best service. The food was good. The kimbap was delicious. This is the best spot for a hang out spot. Highly recommend everyone to try it out.

Yelp
Im a huge fan of Korean bbq and Korean fried chicken so had to try this place as many friends recommended it. When entering, the place is really neat and I also noticed many carry out orders going out consistently. I have to say the menu was pretty vast and they had a lot of unique items That sounded really good. This time we opted for some wings with soy garlic, fries, and the bulgogi dupbop. I have to say, the wings were big, very very crispy and juicy on the inside. The sauce was good, but I do prefer more sauce as it was just brushed on I guess. Definitely a pretty penny too as 10 wings are $20. The size does kind of make up for it though. The bulgogi dupbop was alright. For $18 I would've liked more beef. The bowl was big and there were a lot of veggies and a ton of rice. Flavor was ok, but I swear it was missing something. Definitely tasted fresweet and fresh. Side of fries was big and were cooked well. Its those thick cut fries that are tough to get right, but they came out crispy(as crispy as those kind of fries get) and with a big cup of ketchup. Service was pretty standard. Did notice a kid taking a pee right outside the window... was facing a car, stepped in it, then got in the car after(he was wearing flip flops). This did not add to the aesthetic. Overall, Id say this is a solid place to get Korean fried wings. There is a boneless option, but the menu says it was $30. The price point was really missing for me. Ive been to a ton of Korean places, but this just didn't hit and for the cost would've expected more.

Yelp
No frills Korean fried chicken spot in North Philly. Really fast and friendly service, you could always ring the bell if you need it iykyk. The chicken lives up to the hype that my friends built up, might be the best Korean fried chicken wings I've ever had. The crunch is insane, they don't skimp on the sauce, and the soy garlic is a great balance to the spicy. Pork belly fried rice with cheese and rice cakes with fried dumplings with cheese work way better than I'd imagine . I'd come back for the chicken alone.
google avatar

Khanh H.

Yelp
It's been almost 8 years since I discovered this place and still the best fried chicken I've had to this day... I have tried Korean wings from all over the country, NY or LA, even in Korea and this still ranks #1 for me. It's a must try.

Lee R.

Yelp
Errthing was fantastic!! The service was great, the foid was outstanding and it wasn't a very long waiting time for the food to come out. My family was very pleased with everything!!

Yelp
High quality staff, food, and ambience. They really take care of you and make sure the order is correct. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Best KFC wings I've had in the Philadelphia area. Went here after a glowing review from several experienced KFC eaters. Was not let down. There is a bit of a wait before you get the chicken (takeout or dine-in). It is worth it though. These wings come out piping hot with a solid crunch. Absolutely delicious. I prefer the soy garlic, but will have no issue finishing the seasoned off on my own. The seasoned wings have a great balance of a bit of spicy and sweet. The portions on the chicken were great. Got the soft shell crab kimbap--very good. The service is also fantastic very friendly waitstaff
google avatar

Yelp
Wings are awesome. Price is way too high. Ever since covid I can't afford the food. Maybe again one day
google avatar

Tyrel C.

Yelp
I think this restaurant is a fine spot to eat for the most part. I think the food they served tasted really good for the most part. I had a chicken sandwich and some chicken wings which were both pretty good. I also had some fries which tasted pretty good, but their textures were a bit too rough in my opinion. The service was adequate and the people there were friendly, but I wished that they were a bit more proactive (ex. Making sure that the water was filled enough). Overall however, they still made me feel accommodated. Overall, I think this was a really nice spot to eat for the most part!

Jack T.

Yelp
Food prices have dramatically increased the last 4 years. Although price increases during COVID were justified, having wings cost almost $2 per wing is insane. With everything on the menu having increased prices, ordering a rice cake with large wings runs you $60 before tip. Service was absolutely slow and the only time the servers came around was when you pressed the call button even though the place was not busy at all. Most likely the last time I come back to Soho.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
Cafe Soho Korean fried chicken wings never ceases to amaze me. Wings are super crispy and the sauces are full of flavor. We got Soy Garlic, Special, and Sweet Chili. The Spicy is very spicy, so opted out this time around. The Special was so good, but my favorite might be the Sweet Chili. It was sweet and spicy and had just enough kick to get the salivary glands working. Of note, historically you'd go in anticipating a long wait for their wings, but this recent visit did not take long at all. I would totally give this place a 5/5, but as we were being seated, there was a dead bug clear as day on the booth seat and the servers did not notice until we said something.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Been eating their wings for years no. Like literally 10+ years. Still taste as good as I remembered. This establishment was around before all the other Korean fried chicken places start popping up like the Bon chon and BBQ Chicken. It will get my vote as the best Korean friend chicken place in Philly. Always consistent and yummy. Note I had the wings via takeout but even than the wings were still crispy and yummy.

Jackson L.

Yelp
$36 for 18 wings... man.. I understood when prices rose because of Covid & increase cost of wings, but the price still is going up now? Food is great, but I'll rather go to HMart or Mr. Andy's in Jenkintown for good wings at a fraction of that price. Sadly, Cafe SoHo won't ever be the same again.

Monica M.

Yelp
It was really good , will definitely be back. Service was good too and ambient was good
google avatar

Yelp
Can't believe I would find the best Korean fried chicken in the US in Philly. Dallas has pretty solid Korean food so I was really excited when someone told me this place has better KFC than Dallas. The only downside is they only have KFC tossed in sauces. I really like dry rubs on KFC so if they had that option this place would be perfect! We got soy garlic and the special sauce and they are both delicious. The chicken is so light and crispy - I didn't feel guilty or bloated at all after eating it. Special sauce was more on the sweeter side, the sprinkled white sesame seed on top was a nice plus. Soy garlic was also sweeter than expected but the strong garlic flavor was nice. If you get the large (18 pieces) I would recommend getting a savory & a sweet flavor so it balanced out or else it'll all taste too similar. *you can pick 2 flavor for the large order* Also it didn't take as long for us to get our food. I was nervous because I saw a lot of people saying it takes 45+ min. But I think if you dine in, the food comes out faster!
google avatar

Jaime A.

Yelp
We are never disappointed when we have a meal at Soho! Their wings are so fresh, crispy, and just absolutely delicious! We get the 18 ct and split them right down the middle as I love flats and he likes drums. They are pretty spot on with giving you half and half of both. Today, we had the beef dumplings, which were really good. They had a nice crisp, and the filling was super flavorful. We had a side of rice, which was good too. If you didn't know, white rice can either be tasty or not be tasty alone without any spices or sauces and was just sticky enough. My only complaint was that the chopsticks they gave us were absolutely horrible. They were super cheap, cracked, and just horrible quality for a disposable stick. We will bring our own from now on. The staff was friendly and very attentive as they always are. We just really enjoy this restaurant!
google avatar

Eva C.

Yelp
The soy garlic was fantastic. The "special" was pretty good. At $35 and change for 18 wings, this is a once in a while treat for me
google avatar

Tng L.

Yelp
Always a great spot for korean fried chicken, soy garlic is my personal fav. Chicken is crunchy and flavorful, some places have really soft radish but soho always have those crunchy fresh pickle radish which I really like. Great price and a good hangout spot.

Aviella D.

Yelp
The food there was good but not so much the service by the manager. We asked if we can switch to a booth because it wasn't comfortable, the seats were too high so that makes the table too low especially for my husband that is taller.. She said that there's nomore and the inner room is for 6 and over guest. What a lie because there was 2 parties of 4 like ours in that inner section. Just disappointed that we was lied to and when I asked the cashier she said because the party of 4 was suppose to be 5, another lie because the corner booth wouldn't be able to fit a 5th person and also with the other table that has 4 ppl. If they can accommodate them they could have accommodated us. I get it if it was all packed but this happened right after we asked. Next time say you have a party of 5 or 6 even if you only have 4.
google avatar

Joseph O.

Yelp
Soy Garlic chicken flavor is delicious! I've been here a few years ago and didn't like it, but it has had a lot of improvement in the flavor and portion size. Service is pretty quick and ambiance is pretty normal.

Big B.

Yelp
This is indeed 80% love at first sight! My friend and I took chicken home for dinner and it was so delicious. If you crave fried chicken, go again
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Soho has the best wings in the east coast. I've had PLENTY of korean wing places from DC to Fort Lee to NYC, but nothing ever beats soho wings. Their wings are so crispy! I've been going here for as long as I can remember. I remember having to wait a long time years ago but now the wings come out very fast.
google avatar

Daina M.

Yelp
Best. Wings. Ever. Seriously, you can't beat the frunch and flavor of the wings here. Just too good. They never disappoint. The soju drinks in the watermelon or pineapple are also unique and great for groups.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Great Korean wings. Soy garlic and sweet chili are my favorite sauces. Very expensive for wings. Long wait time for pickup. Usually worth the wait.

Lisa S.

Yelp
This place has yummy, tasty, wings. We have ordered a couple of times for parties and the are always a hit.
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
I definitely put this spot in the upper tier for Korean Fried chicken wings. The carry out orders were non stop which is a great indication of how good the wings are. The Kimchi fried rice was pretty darn good too. Pretty spicy, If your familiar with Jollof rice It has that level of kick to It. The bang bang shrimp was alright, not quite what I envisioned for bang bang. I'm just not use to seeing long shrimp like that lol. Nonetheless they were ok. I also got the chance to try Soju for the first time. Soju DEFINITELY packs a punch so make sure you got a plan to get home safely after. It does creep up on you. I sat down to eat and there were some gnats that were driving me crazy. Other than that my fiancé found a hair in her kimbap. That's no good either. Ultimately we had an ok experience, we will probably carry out next time though.

Kat A.

Yelp
Chicken is really good. But I will say, the wait for the chicken is a little crazy. Nice environment.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Besides the fact that the food is delicious, the chefs and workers obviously put pride into the food. Been in this neighborhood for close to 40 years, just wish I tried you guys sooner.
google avatar

Joshua P.

Yelp
My favorite place for fried chicken in Philadelphia. Unbelievably tasty & unbelievably crunchy. A little pricey but it's worth every single penny. The soy garlic & sweet chili are truly top tier sauces that only add amazing flavor to the best wings in the city! The spicy & special are really good too, just be ready to sweat a little. The bang bang shrimp was excellent, very flavorful. The kimchi kimbap & bulgogi kimbap are really good as well. & I'm big a fan of the beef fried dumplings. The service is always great. Very chill & relaxing atmosphere depending on the day & time you visit. There are also times when it is packed & hectic as well. & the food is consistently amazing in both situations. If you like chicken wings & you're visiting Philadelphia or you live in Philly do yourself & your taste buds a favor & pay this place a visit. If you dine in ask for Earl. He's the best server I've ever had there.

Myra E.

Yelp
The wings are the reason for the season. If I am in charge of wings I head to Cafe Soho. They are pricey but so worth it. They also have very traditional and not so traditional Asian menu items that are delicious. If you are I. The area or don't mind traveling a little bit to see what the fuss is about.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Food was delicious! One of my favorite fried chicken places :) got the large half soy garlic half spicy. Chicken was extra crunchy and the spice creeps up on you! Service was fast too.
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
Appreciating the simple pleasures in life and for me that involves korean fried chicken! I just finished watching the hit korean drama from several years ago, Goblin (I know I am late but it was soo good!) and for those who know, Korean fried chicken Is mentioned throughout so I was craving it so badly! Covid pandemic had a lot of my favorite places closed. BBQ chicken in Hmart's food court is one of my faves but they were closed (I think they are open now until 6pm) but cafe soho was Open!! I have ordered twice now and appreciate their no contact pick up. You call to order ahead and can pick up at the store. Wings were large, well seasoned and extra crispy. Sauces were excellent! Had soy garlic and spicy. Sauce was not too sweet and wings were still juicy! Some places dry out the wings and the sauce is too sweet! Cafe Soho may be back to one of my KFC faves! Definitely give it a try!

Frankie V.

Yelp
service is slow we ordered soft drink and food 30 min ago its like we weren't there Not comíng back
google avatar

Ameena S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Korean places in the area! Parking is a little tough but there is usually some street parking available. Their tteokbokki is delicious, and the portion is HUGE. The fried chicken is crispy and flavorful every time. There are little buttons on the table where you can call over your waiter, ask for the check, etc, and they are always helpful. Only knock is that on some crowded nights, it can take a while for the food to be ready. Would definitely come here again!
google avatar

Cyrene H.

Yelp
Greeting!! One word- Fabulous! I've not been here in YEARS! But when I went, YUMMY!!! Great ambiance, relaxing and the food was delicious!
google avatar

Barani M.

Yelp
Fantastic food and drinks. Definitely worth it. The fried chicken was extremely fresh chicken and absolutely not heavy. Tried their spicy, soy garlic and seasoned flavors. Their fresh fruit soju's were also amazing.

Brenda L.

Yelp
Fried chicken is AMAZING!!!!the best!!!!! Service is friendly. Just need to wait like 30mins to get the food. Atmosphere is warm.
google avatar

Yelp
We started with the Crabstick Kimbap which was really good. My fiancé was expecting it to taste like sushi which it does not. She was a little let down by them but I thought they were good. They then brought out the bang bang shrimp and the bulgogi fried rice. The bang bang shrimp was an appetizer but is definitely enough for a meal. The flavors on this shrimp were delicious. They were very breaded but were extremely well seasoned. The bulgogi fried rice was an entree but was enough for 2-3 people to eat. This was better than expected. It had vegetables and what seemed like a 2 egg omelette buried instead of it. The rice was also sprinkled with what seemed to be mozzarella cheese. I don't know if this is customary of Fried rice in Korean food but that was the first time I've had it like that. I loved it. Lastly, those wings mannnnnn. Them jawns were serious. Best Korean fried chicken wings I've ever had. Nuff said!
google avatar

Henry T.

Yelp
Great tasting wings, some of the best I've had in Philly. Watch out for their spicy wings though as they're legit spicy! A bit on the pricey end but the service and large venue make up for it with the positive experience
