Cafe Tamra Northcote Road

The food was delicious and the matcha really well made! Really loved the smoothie as well. And on top of that it’s dog friendly!

I visited on 23/6/2025 from 12.45 to 14.45 and loved it. It was a hot day and sitting inside with air from, I think pulled back windows was awesome and it brought more of a community feel with passers-by. The service was great, it was clean, I loved the bright decor and tasty food.

This was our first visit (party of 2). We came midday Sunday and waited 10 minutes to be seated. The service was good in terms of our order being taken quickly, food being served promptly and the order being correct. I had the breakfast quesadilla which was delicious and filled me up nicely. Good variety of food choice being a vegetarian. The disappointment was when I ordered a glass of fresh orange and it was served in the tiniest glass ever!! I couldn’t believe it was £5. Nice brunch spot, just on the pricier side.

Tamra is hands down my favorite brunch spot! The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal with family. Their pancakes are simply divine—fluffy and flavorful, just the way I love them! The French toast is another family favorite; it's always cooked to perfection and served with delightful toppings. Whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying a cozy family gathering, Tamra never disappoints. Highly recommend

The Lebanese breakfast (with a side of halloumi) was exactly what I needed, absolutely spot on. Such a lovely place too. The gentleman who served us deserves a medal (or a commission); his charm and effortless upselling were genuinely impressive. We’ll definitely be back for round two.

Well laid out seating outdoors (there is a £1.50 levy per person for the road closure) meant that that we were able to have quite an enjoyable experience at Cafe Tamara. Service was also prompt and friendly. We had a flat white to start which was pretty good. For food we had the shakshuka and the vegan Lebanese breakfast. We felt the scrambled tofu in the vegan breakfast was a little bit too salty. I can’t fault the shakshuka which was lovely. Definitely a place we would visit again if we were in the area.

The restaurant is part of a group, cafe fleur is another one. First off the food is delicious! The pancakes are delicious and I highly recommend the bananas with mascarpone and bacon. The Turkish eggs are also fantastic. One should note they don't serve the Moroccan butternut bake on the weekends, which is not noted anywhere. Service is a bit slow at peak times but food is worth the wait! Yogurt and granola is also yummy and a nice portion. The granola is fresh and delicious.

A busy cafe on Northcote Road, great for watching the world go by on a weekend afternoon. I visited with my family for a bite to eat around Sunday lunchtime. Food was absolutely delicious and the portion size is great. However, it loses a star for its slow service - it took almost an hour for the food to arrive. We didn't mind waiting a bit of time as the sun was out and we could sit on the street, but we were definitely hungry after the time passed.

An explosion of flavors, this is what best describes the basmati rice I had at this little and cosy pearl in Northcote Road. It was a Sunday lunch with my family and the place was warm and cosy, buzzing with chatter and full of character. Families are welcome and although the space is not a lot, the waitresses helped out in parking or buggy safely. Definitely recommended.

Newly refurbished ;the new sign makes great play of the "dog friendly" aspect of the cafe. I haven't eaten here, so can't comment fairly on that - although it seems very popular. Coffee was middle of the road, and service, I have to say, achingly slow and haphazard.

In a sea of competiton, Tamra has two things going for it as far as I can see: an outside garden, and a dog-friendly attitude. (And possibly a house dog, I'm not sure if it was resident there or just loitered a long time). I like dogs. Other than that, the food is good but not amazing. Competent poached eggs (runny) and hollandaise woth some nice smoked salmon, though the asparagus was over-cooked. The menu is very extensive so there's plenty of choice but nothing particularly exciting - which makes choosing very difficult and I get the impression whatever I ordered it would just be.... nice. I guess it's almost four stars but service was terribly slow - it took us half an hour to get a pair of lunches - and not terribly friendly. There are better places along this stretch of road for brunch - unless you have a dog.

Popped in here for lunch earlier today, and I can't say that the food was all that special. It's the kind of place that you could just about pick something on the menu, but nothing screams out... oooo delish... at you. Just meh, I guess I could eat that. I had the roast chicken with vegetable and rice, and it was just bleurgh and bland. It would have been better if the chicken had some sort of tasty sauce on it. Or if it was a chicken tagine. Now that would have been delish. My friend Kate had the squid salad, which looked pretty nice. Generous serving of squid but for the price that we paid, we could have gotten a lot more elsewhere. The orange juice was £3.00, and in a tumbler. Now I acknowledge that it was freshly squeezed and not concentrate, but it's cheaper in Borough market and I get a lot more there. The service was okay, it wasn't bad but then it wasn't excellent. It's such a shame that it's not The Boiled Egg and Soldiers anymore. Change isn't always a good thing... especially in this case.

I have had breakfast and brunch here a few times, when I have been in the area. There is a wide range of options to choose from for breakfast, and all the ones I had were very good indeed. However, it is pricey (£9 for a full English breakfast), which is not to be expected from a low-key local cafe in Clapham. I have also had the champagne breakfast (orange juice with champagne served in a champagne glass). Although it sounds glam, for £3.30 I would just order orange juice alone. What really lets this place down is the service and the lack of atmosphere. The place is completely quiet, even when all the tables are taken. Nobody talks and it does not make you feel too comfortable. The service is quite dreadful. It is distant, rude and unfriendly, the opposite of what a place like this would need. Because of these reasons (and because it is pricey), I am looking for another place to have my breakfasts when I am in the area.

My favourite place on Northcote Road BY FAR. We always sit outside (even in the winter) because they provide outdoor heaters and blankets which keep you warm. Their food, and choice/range on the menu is great and has a real 'health/nutritious' focus to it. Brunch and lunch here are great - special shout out to the Buckwheat pancakes, the Eggs, avocado & chorizo dish and the porridge packed full of baked apples, walnuts and cinnamon. Also - their coffee (I think it's Monmouth) is lovely. Friendly staff, cute cafe, great food. Thank you and well done Cafe Tamra!

My aunt and uncle brought my fiance and I here last weekend and it was really lovely. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice summer evening weather. I had the lamb- it was delicious. We had a couple of bottles of white and rose - both very nice. I had a warm chocolate brownie topped with ice cream - how can you go wrong with that?! And finished off with a nice strong cup of black coffee. The service was great, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would highly recommend Tamra, especially considering how manic a lot of the other Northcote restaurants tend to be!

Who doesnt love pancakes for breakfast?? I do, and Tamra provide some of the best in London. First came here when walking my dog in winter and really happy wheb=n i could sit outside with a dog and they provided a heater and a blanket, such a good touch! My visit was made even better by the delicious food and fantastic friendly service.

After moving to clapham junction in January this is our favourite brunch spot by far! Great pancakes

Met all the needs of gluten free vegetarians, with several allergies, and that is hard to come by! It can be pricey but very tasty, I would recommend falafel wrap, and I'm not vegetarian! I've been converted. There are dogs but it didn't bother us. Will be returning for more brunch.

The food here is really very good. The service is wonderful. And the value exceptional. The best bacon rolls in town by far.

Terrible service! Despite the menu boasting exceptional service we were totally ignored. We had to ask for a menu and then go to the counter to order our coffee. We were then told we could not only order coffee we had to order food too. There were no signs anywhere stating this. We refused and asked again if we could order coffee only. The man behind the counter was very rude and said he will give us coffee but he will never do it again and we'd have to be quick! After such a rude response my friend and I decided not to waste our money in a cafe where we were made to feel so unwelcome.
