Yelp
Recently visited for lunch, some things were excellent, some were very sub-par, which is why I settled on a rating of 3.
Positives:
- The smash burger was excellent. The burger was well seasoned and well cooked, and the garlic aioli was excellent.
- Loved the fries, perfectly crispy and perfectly seasoned.
Negatives:
- Tried to order the salmon entree, and they didn't have salmon that day. OK, that happens, but considering there are only 3 options for lunch entrees, I would have expected them to replace it with a third option, preferably a different fish, or at least a chicken dish. The best they could offer was, we can add some chicken to a caesar salad.
- So I ordered the roasted pork sandwich. I was expecting something like a porchetta (really well seasoned roasted pork) since the restaurant leans Italian. Instead what I got was *incredibly* bland, thinly sliced pork.
- The sandwich comes with "wilted greens", which in this case meant undressed, unseasoned greens that literally looked like they had wilted because they were sitting out too long.
- And that was it - no sauce, no nothing. It came with a bland jus to dip your sandwich in, but since it was so bland it essentially just made the sandwich soggy and yet it still somehow ate really dry.
- After lunch I looked at the menu again to check the description of the sandwich, and it was supposed to have come with caciocavallo (which I believe is a type of cheese), but my sandwich didn't have that. It likely would have given the sandwich more flavor, but I don't know if it would have made the sandwich any less dry.
So would I go back? If I lived in the area, I might give it another try just because the burger and fries were so good. But if I travel to Nashville again, I don't think I would risk it. Nashville has a lot of great restaurants, and I wouldn't want to risk one of my meals being as bad as that pork sandwich.
