Four New Orleans Restaurant Openings to Know Right Now, February 2025 | Eater New Orleans

"A mother-son duo, Lisa and Jack Greenleaf, who began with a schiacciata sandwich pop-up outside Pepp’s Pub and spent time at St. Roch Market, now operate a takeout location at 1039 Broadway Street next to The Boot. The concise sandwich-focused menu includes the Roma (prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, fire-roasted red peppers, pistachio pesto, basil, and balsamic glaze), the Firenze (chicken cutlet, spicy broccoli rabe, shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano, and lemon aioli), and the Positano (pistachio mortadella, burrata, arugula, pistachio cream, and fig spread), among others. The kitchen serves lunch daily and early dinner Thursday through Saturday, and a full-service Marigny location on Franklin Avenue is still planned for the future." - Clair Lorell

Gold-Covered Steaks From a Salt Bae Protégé Have Landed in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"A second location of the Kenner Colombian cafe landed on S Carrollton Avenue, bringing jibaritos, arepas, burritos, smoothies, breakfast, fresh juice, specialty coffee, shakes, and treats like watermelon paletas to Carrollton in a friendly, family-run environment; it’s open Thursday through Tuesday." - Clair Lorell

Been local for 10 years, and not sure how it took me so long to discover this gem! Our new breakfast spot in New Orleans. We were looking for other options as we were getting a little tired of our “usuals“. We were rousing through options on Google maps and came across this place open for breakfast. It was clearly a family Dash run establishment and we really enjoyed hearing about the menu from our server who I believe was part of the family. We were very impressed with their full all-day breakfast menu (see my updated menu photo; the prior most recent photo on Google reviews was three years old and not accurate), especially the large selection of fresh fruit smoothies and a full espresso menu, which is not very common for a small establishment. The Cuban espresso was bold and bracing as you’d like it. The decor of both the inside and outside dining areas were carefully curated and polished with a touch of someone who clearly cared about their establishment. Dining alongside sunny Carrollton Avenue was a great vibe. The food was delicious and authentic with large portion sizes! The Chilaquiles in particular were a comforting, warm, spiced morning hug from someone’s sweet abuelita. The sweet plantains were a treat. I’ll be back ASAP to try the multiple flavors of lunch/dinnertime arepas and the jibaritos.

Always so delicious. Chicken arepas is a favorite, also Cuban platter, tostones, jibarito… We love the outdoor seating and have never had to wait for a table.

Went here for the first time last weekend. Food was exceptional and we really liked the place. Honestly though, the coffee was not good. The Americano I ordered was weak and the Cuban Coffee was just ok. I'm not a coffee snob in the least as I do like drip coffee, but I feel like having a weak Americano (which I know is a shot of espresso plus hot water) is pretty bad.

The food here was so delicious!! Me and a friend shared the Tomas Sample and were able to try 4 different foods, I definitely want to go back and try some other things on the menu!

This place is amazing!! In from out of town and was looking for a good breakfast and coffee. ✅ and ✅! We had Chilaquiles and the Breakfast Arepa (I added beef to the Arepa), Lattes, and Americanos. Everything was fantastic! We arrived around 10ish and we were the only customers the entire time, I could not believe it. Give this location some love! Go, go now!

Great experience every time! Love the food. Pleasant atmosphere with warm and welcoming service. One of our go to places for lunch when we're in the New Orleans area. And they have real Cuban coffee! ♥️

Cafetomas never disappoints!! Their new location is beautiful and it has the same charm as their first location in Kenner. Cafetomas has the best background music and it is never too loud. Food was also outstanding. We got breakfast arepa and the beef arepas and we loved them both. Their natural juices are great too. Additionally, the owner is very welcoming and ensures you have a great experience.

Fantastic tostones and arepas (plus the cappuccinos are great!). Very nice waitress.
