The Ultimate Guide to San Francisco’s Best Restaurants, Bars, and Coffee Shops for Dates - Eater SF

"On the other side of town, Cafe Centro is easy to love. Located on the edge of South Park, it feels romantically European, and lends the date an unexpected twist of novelty." - Flora Tsapovsky

Perfectly simple. Every cafe in the world should take a hint from places like this: High quality ingredients Creative menu Attention to detail Fair prices Courteous and attentive staff Good location That's really all you need to have people lining up day after day, and Caffe Centro gets it. I went with the ham and swiss, and it was great. The quality of the meat, cheese, bread, vegetables and mustard were all very high, and the sandwich was put together with care and attention. I got a bag of Kettle Chips and a glass of water, and the total came to a bit over $9 with tax. This is the kind of place where you could eat several times per week, and I plan to be back to try more of their sandwiches and salads.

They reopened recently - I went to check them out because I saw a flyer. I can't speak to the coffee, but I was a little disappointed in the food. The sandwiches are fine but nothing special, the kind of thing that I would throw together myself before work. There are at least two other places less than a block away that will give you a better sandwich for about the same price. They also made a mistake on my order. I specifically mentioned when I ordered that I was getting that sandwich because it came with sprouts. I get the sandwich and no sprouts. Kind of a bummer

No indoor dining at the moment but lots of outdoor seating. I got the kale salad and it was pretty filling! Prices were good (see menu photos attached). Overall, great healthy lunch spot if you’re in the area.

Great coffee + pastry. I came in right as they were closing. I got a coffee; since they get new pastries every day they offered me a complimentary pastry. Very friendly, would suggest if in South Park.

It’s baaaack! One of our fave local cafes reopened now owned by the workers! Menu looks the same. The dirty chai (chai with a shot of espresso) was amazing not too sweet and Cobb salad delish! The service friendly as usual. Love sitting by the window to gaze out to South Park a charming city park. Don’t see outside seating yet like before. Def will come back glad they’re in the neighborhood again

Fantastic quaint cafe in the South Park community of SF. A getaway spot from the traffic and hustle near Oracle Park. Excellent Chai and Green Tea. Simple breakfast menu.

Good place to work with nice staff and simple, good food and coffee options. Sometimes, they play good music I go in the morning before the lunch rush.

A few years back this cafe was a very laid back enjoyable cafe to relax and hang out, However, more recently although I live close most of the friendly staff has left and moved on, leaving the present manager Erin, a racist , uptight, homophobe, and the couple few other staff there are quite the same.. And this is definitely a place to avoid. Even the food quality isn’t nearly that good as before.
