"In Italy (or at least Little Italy) it seems that sports bars swap out stale beer and fries for coffee and cannoli, because this coffee shop on Hanover is packed whenever there’s a big soccer game. The rest of the time, it’s just a great spot to grab some caffeine and a pastry or two." - Dan Secatore

"A Boston restaurateur adds a mobile arm to his operation this weekend. Philip Frattaroli of Ducali Pizzeria & Bar and Cunard Tavern will unveil his new Caffe Pellicano Mobile Espresso Bar at a festival in the North End near another of his family’s restaurants, Filippo Ristorante. Caffe Pellicano tips its hat to the craft of Italian coffee in more ways than one. The truck is a vintage Piaggio Ape — a three-wheeled Italian truck — which Frattaroli had outfitted for the coffee operation. Espresso will anchor the menu, with other beverages including Americanos, macchiatos, lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brew for summer. There will also be a drink named after the operation and similar to an Arnold Palmer: The Pellicano will be made with lemonade and cold brew. The truck will also serve biscotti." - Dana Hatic

One person in our party got the espresso martini which looked well made and had no complaints. I got the affogato martini and it was very well presented, strong shot of coffee and the cookie was certainly cute. Service was great, but the tables and chairs weren’t all kept clean, and the martini taste wise was good . . . but not great for the price. But over all not a bad spot.

Rainy day we just want to have coffee , store is fine , did order regular coffee came in the glass and huge spoon inside .

Google
Delicious Gluten-free Tiramisu! Specialty Coffee's were expertly crafted. Nutella Cappuccino/ Mocha Latte/Cappuccino/Chai Latte! Highly recommend!

Google
I LOVE caffè dello sport! My go to place for espresso martinis and the staff are great! Special shout out to Carmela and Sarah who always take care of me when I come in. Sarah recommended us the pumpkin espresso martini for fall and we loved it. If you need a place to go for espresso martinis in Boston this is one of the best!

Jessica

Google
Fabulous little café. Stopped by a couple mornings for a Cappuccino and a cannoli while staying in the North End. Filled with locals chatting in Italian. The cannolis are filled to order and a great size for a treat. Grab one here instead of waiting in the lines at Mike's and Modern!

Google
Cute caffe in a very busy area. We came during preseason and you will not believe the crowd outside on the sidewalks passing. We were looking for a nice quiet place to sit down down and take a break, however, it was packed inside and for good reason. The coffees were incredible and will definitely be back to try some of their menu.

Google
We came in for their espresso martinis with a lady finger, twice while visiting Boston! We also had a chance to enjoy their desserts.

We stopped in during a rain shower. We ended up having lots of beverages. The expresso martini was fabulous! Yum! Sara, our server, was amazing too! Glad for the rain!

Yelp
These guys are the Gods of Coffee! Period, Punto Finale! I have been coming here for over 20+ years, initially, this was the only place that would show soccer live, especially Italian Soccer. I will age myself, but this was the time when dishes were popular, because you could stream games live, only if you had one of them. So we came for the game and we said, why not grab a cappuccino! Now, 20 years later, I come for the cappuccino, because it is the best I have had in the whole state of Massachusetts. I wish I knew what kind of coffee they use, but it is the best, perfectly foamed, perfectly balance, a humongous cup, so that you can think down with one cup and watch the whole game. They are never trying to hurry you out, you are their family. You come here to watch a game and drink coffee, you are one of them, but be ready to sit very comfortable to each other, because the tables are really tight and so are the chairs. There will be times, when you have to pass the drinks around, but that is the whole joy, we are all in this together! About two years ago, we decided to try something new and drank an Espresso Martini and that was it for us, this Martini is insane!!! We had these at noon and the waitress looked at us as if saying: "you are starting kind of early", but when you are in the area and do not need to work, because it is a holiday, this is what you drink. Best in the state as well in my opinion! The coffee is so good, that even though the place can be crowded and the service is okay, it is still worth the trip. Maybe come early like we did and avoid busy times. There is usually only one waitstaff or maybe two for about 40 tables, so you need to be patient with service. Again, this is not the place you have a drink and five minutes later, you want out. This is a place, where you want to sit down, have a coffee, martini or other drinks with your friend, watch a game, talk, socialize, relax and just enjoy the atmosphere. This place is a classic and a landmark in the North End, enjoy! Cheers!

Yelp
Cappuccino was good, tiramisu was okay, and espresso martini was bad (tasted very watered down). The prices on your receipt will be higher than the prices on the menu (e.g., our items were up to $0.60 higher - pretty sure this is illegal, not a big deal but just dishonest). More importantly, and the reason that I would never return, is that it was the worst service I've ever received in my life - almost to the extent that it was funny. Our waiter: - never cleaned our table, which had drink spills from the previous guests - didn't bring our waters despite us explicitly ordering them - tried to get me to take a different drink than what I had ordered just because the bar had accidentally made it (I ordered espresso martini, 15 min later he came and asked if I would take a Nutella martini instead because it was "already ready" on the bar... like dude. Seriously?) - after we had already tipped him 20% (not because he deserved it but because my husband does that everywhere), we reminded him about the waters since we were thirsty; he at first tried to sell us bottled water then told us that the bar was too busy to get us tap water before eventually bringing them Management, if you're ready this... you desperately need to train this employee

Yelp
Great venue for any sports fan or sports supporter. Stopped by as a pit stop while waiting on a nearby Italian restaurant reservation during the 2024 Euros Championship (soccer, for non-sportsball fans), and enjoyed spitting an espresso martini and watermelon basil cocktail with my husband. Server was fantastic, prompt and had a great attitude. Had a great time!

Anthony G.

Yelp
Stopped for a quick espresso. This place is clearly a sport cafe focused on soccer. Looks like a great environment and energy to watch a game. Quick and friendly service. Excellent espresso.

Pete W.

Yelp
Great place to watch the Euro Cup. They had both the Spain v Albania and the Italia v Croatia game. The service was quick despite the restaurant being packed full of fans. They even handed out free cocktail shots they were experimenting with. Lovely environment and will absolutely come back for another game.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Great spot to grab dessert or a coffee in North End and they're open late! I enjoyed their espresso martinis and tiramisu. Lots of people came in to watch sports as they have quite a few TVs/ big screens. Service was a little slow, but the place was packed, so that's understandable.

Eva H.

Yelp
Love this spot! They're open earlier than most other spots in the North End which is why I've ended up here a few times and I'm always happy I have! The coffee is delicious and strong, the iced mocha was super good but so are the plainer standards like the americano. My favorite hot drink has been the chai latte. The antipasto was lovely and the mini cannoli were too! Service was fast and friendly. Lots of seating, I've never had an issue getting a seat even when busy.

Jenn V.

Yelp
Poor service on saturday afternoon. No glass of water provided even after we asked for one. Understand the waitress is busy, and there only seems to be one doing all the tables, but better service could have been nicer. As for espresso- it is good coffee but stay away from pastries. Dry and not fresh tasting. Do not attempt to eat a "cannoli" here. You will be very disappointed.

Mariel D.

Yelp
I love coming down on the weekends to have a morning cappuccino with a fresh baked croissant. This is very cool spot to watch the local soccer game for any sports fans. When not watching the game you can sit have a casual chat with friends or family, I love coming on Sunday mornings to grab some coffee to sit then walk around, best ice caffe mocha coffee. I love this family run coffee shop in the north end. The service is good and the staff are all very friendly

Edward O.

Yelp
The paninis are fantastic. I had the turkey came with chips and then I ordered ice tea and a double espresso. Espresso was fantastic. Ambiance: don't bring your youngsters here. The locals include the "F" Bonn in their discussions. I felt like I was in a movie with the cool Italian accents. I sat at the bar area and the cook served me with professionalism and attentiveness.

Lena L.

Yelp
Friendly server and good selections. Was able to get a seat with no wait on a Friday night.

Hannah Z.

Yelp
had such a delicious salted caramel soufflé here! the inside was warm & gooey, and the ice cream on top was great. the vibes of the shop are also pretty nice--there are many TV's around and there are various sports games playing. i also ended up stopping by later to try their pistachio gelato, which was all right. my only complaint was that service wasn't the most efficient. it took us quite a while to order and to get our check, and our server seemed pretty overwhelmed. other than that, i had a great experience here!

Brandon B.

Yelp
I stopped here for an aperol spritz after getting a cannoli from mike's pastry next door and was told after already eating with my box open for 10 min that I can't eat outside food which is dumb considering it's just a pastry. Bad attitudes and did not feel very welcome.

Mary Grace F.

Yelp
Cafe Dello Sport has the best espresso martini in Boston. Period. Mussi leaves a touch on the martini like no other. Any time we are in the North End we come here. The staff always welcomes us, and the accordion makes my best friend levitate because she loves it so much.

Kendra W.

Yelp
Great place to stop for a pre-dinner cocktail or after dinner drink and dessert. Cozy seating. I believe you can order desserts and coffee drinks at counter to go. Espresso martini was creamy and yummy.

Toni C.

Yelp
I live in the north end and I come to this coffee shop frequently. I think the lattes are very good and it's a unique atmosphere. Locals frequent the establishment to watch football almost everyday of the week. This cafe servers coffee and alcohol and is open pretty late. The only negative I have is the panini wasn't great, I don't think I would recommend it.

Rudi P.

Yelp
Great coffee! The staff was great. Owners should make sure the staff are not overwhelmed. When I went in on a Saturday afternoon, it was packed. However there was only 1 person working behind the counter trying to fill the never ending orders

Des D.

Yelp
My friend lives in Boston and swears by Caffe Dello Sport being the absolute best place for an espresso martini. Once we told him we were in the area he quickly suggested we go here to check it out. I was a bit skeptical when arriving- it's very small a little outdated. However once you sit down you immediately understand the hype. Staff is super friendly and everyone there is just so chill. The equipment they have making their coffees/ espresso is very high tech. I knew immediately I was going to love their espresso martinis. Once we had our first sip my husband and I were immediate fans. This has to be the best espresso martini I ever had- seriously! The espresso is so rich and there is such a depth of flavor that you cannot even think was possible with a drink like this. So good! I am so happy our friend took us here because it's now on my go-to stops next time I'm in Boston. Definitely check this place out!

Larry W.

Yelp
Stopped in for a cofee. Best coffe I've had in Boston. Tiramisu was great and gelato was authentic and from Italy. Highly recommend as an after dinner or mid-walk stopping point.

Nadia S.

Yelp
I have been coming here for YEARS and realized i never left a review. I can honestly say that they acknowledge their customers and give such a warm welcome. It is my main spot for coffee and a pastry on the weekends. One of the more authentic places in the North End. May I add that I travel 30min to this GEM because I love it so much. The summers are my most favorite because I absolutely love the option to sit outside!! It's all around a great spot. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

Luis R.

Yelp
We are visiting from California and wanted to stop for a coffee...it was around 8pm. Young men behind the counter were very friendly BUT it wasn't until 2 older ladies came in....maybe the owners. They were rude and made our enjoyable time no longer fun. We gave them no reason for them to be rude. We were a party of 11 and ALL of us noticed the same thing. Such a shame. Note: it was not busy in there and there were plenty of open tables. Love Boston and all the spots we've visited...except for this one.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Quality tiramisu and a quality cappuccino shout out to Matt, who makes the best cappuccinos! Can't wait to come back to try more treats next time I'm in the north end

Tesa S.

Yelp
I went into this caffe to get warm while my friends were waiting in a long line next door for cannolis at Mike's pastries. I was greeted like family, sat at the bar next to three locals one who worked there and insisted this place had a better cannoli. They bought me one and I took it back to my friends that waited in line for a taste test and it was agreed they are better! I was supposed to return today to let these three know the outcome and couldn't make it back. so Phil, the guy young guy from South America, and the gentleman that bought me the cannoli drinks are in me if you ever come to Hawaii. Thank you for your hospitality!

Sam P.

Yelp
Great option for espresso and scoop of gelato in Boston little Italy. Since I am a fan of both , I went for Affogato : espresso and gelato ! Their pastry selections are great but perhaps less impressive than next door Mike's Pastry

MM B.

Yelp
Great latte and pistachio iced coffee! Service was attentive, professional and kind. (Paired my beautiful latte with a cannoli from Mike's - excellent combo!)

Marc W.

Yelp
Second time here. Still fantastic. Nutella and espresso martinis are quite tasty. Salted Carmel soufflé and lemon sorbet are our go to desserts. So much better than waiting for mikes or modern pastry.

Edward W.

Yelp
Last month, I dropped by this cafe in the North End for a quick bite. I got their chicken cutlet sub. I ordered at the counter and took a seat at one of their small round tables. The sandwich had lettuce, sliced tomatoes and a breaded chicken cutlet. The chicken cutlet was not crispy but soggy. The sandwich was average. I also ordered a slice of tiramisu which was good. It wasn't too sweet although I wished it had more cocoa powder on it.

Kali B.

Yelp
We were rudely greeted with the man working, and did not give us a good experience. It created a very tense atmosphere and made our time here not worth it. We unfortunately will never be returning due to the unwelcoming host.

Allison H.

Yelp
This is a really nice getaway from all the tourist attractions one might find in North End. Just steps away from the frenzy of Mike's, this place serves drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic), has several breakfast and lunch options, and a wide variety dessert (ranging from cheesecake to tiramisu to cannolis, etc.), all of which sound delicious! We came for dessert, and ordered the frutti di bosco and the tiramisu thanks to the recommendation of our waitress - it did not disappoint. Will definitely return in the future!

Carlotta C.

Yelp
a little chaotic, but the staff is always friendly - it's a nice spot to stop a little bit while exploring the North End... especially since it's the only little cafe with outdoor seating amidst a myriad of sit-down restaurants. I've tried the tiramisu, the red berries cake and the cannoli (really good, much quite authentic in my opinion), and all have satisfied my sweet tooth cravings!

Nancy N.

Yelp
Love this place. It is especially great if you're a fan of soccer. Their awesome tiramisu hasn't changed in over 20 years, and I hope it never does. I love that I can come here with my kid; he orders whatever he wants and I can also have an adult beverage. Love the atmosphere: relaxed, casual, and friendly.

Alvia Y.

Yelp
Our iced latte with almond milk and cafe latte with almond milk to go just hit the spot and were both better than the cappuccinos we got the day prior at Caffe Victoria.

Andrea A.

Yelp
Wow this place makes me nostalgic for my parents era in Hoboken the classic Italian cafe and buzzin from the second the doors open. Olders speaking Italian. All the classic pastries and panini. The coffee options you wanna see in a place like this. Family run. It was a little touch to get seated so we squeezed at the counter. Slightly better service wise but hey they really had the whole place packed all the tables. People picking up orders, people hanging outside. CASH ONLY. Duh. Lol

Cody C.

Yelp
Incredibly personable service, and a wonderful espresso martini. Glad we stopped in for a quick drink before dinner.

John L.

Yelp
I wandered in during a day off and found myself with an espresso, a cannoli and a Champions League game. Didn't see that coming. Friendly, accommodating staff and great desserts. Great central location too.

Jesus Andres T.

Yelp
That's the best place to watch any game, they have so far the best Expresso Martini, the best coffee "Italian", the service is charm and pretty fast "Ask for Daniel"

Fran L.

Yelp
We love this corner cafe in Hanover and Prince. Louis, Nina and Harry are some of the best-friendly and aim to please the customers. We always get a cappuccino and "S" cookie. It is one of our favorite times to take a break in the north end. We sit inside or outside on Prince Street or on Hanover Street. We love people watching and enjoying our cappuccino! This is one of North End's best.

Brent M.

Yelp
Sat down for 10 mins without any service. Wife goes to front to order and lady says to sit down and someone will help you. Not the friendliest place I have been to. Then had to wait for our bill. Will not be back.

David J.

Yelp
Took a competitor's dessert to eat here, and despite ordering drinks we were kicked out because of the desserts

Daniel M.

Yelp
Best espresso martini I've ever had. Jen was our server, she was amazing and it was only her first day! Super impressed by her and our entire experience at caffe dello!

Oklahoma D.

Yelp
Super friendly no matter when you go! We unknowingly have been the first and last customers and we were greeted the same way. The cannoli is fantastic. The sandwiches are so large and so yummy. Did not love the peanut butter and jelly cocktail but this place will be a regular spot.

Robert S.

Yelp
Save your money, this place is fake. Ordered tiramisu and coffee, I watched a kid in a hoodie and blue jeans open a plastic box like he bought it Costco put it on a plate and charge me six bucks. And people that work there aren't professionally dressed, they're wearing whatever college hoodie they want. Go a street to the left or the right if you want a real experience

S M.

Yelp
Friendly, good cappuccino and latte, excellent tiramisu. Not sure about other pastries. It was a pleasant Sunday early afternoon, indoor and outdoor seating. Sports on four screens indoors, nice and cool inside.

Tracy B.

Yelp
Stopped in the other night when close by for Dinner. Had some drinks & watched Game 1 of the Bruins, cute little spot! Seems to be more the Local Hangout, but friendly enough & decent priced drinks!

Jayde D.

Yelp
I've been coming to this caffe for about 8 years and enjoy every moment. For starters this place is always open every blizzard and every 97 degree day. My favorite drink is the espresso martini and my husband loves the espresso! Every now and then we will get a slice of heaven it's called Frutti di Bosco all that fruit together is delicious! The next time we go I'm thinking about trying the Nutella Martini it looks so good! But honestly if you're into sports there's always a game going on whether it's a soccer game, basketball, hockey or even football. A few years ago we got to watch a super bowl win here! It's a nice place to because you get people from all over the world that come here I'm from Portugal and I've met some customers from Italy, Spain, Germany it's nice to see because you tell one person where you're from then boom you make four more friends it's just an all around nice place to go get a drink and watch the game! One thing I never understood was why customers from Mike's pastry are always blocking the entrance they get mad when you asked them to move to into dello sport?!?? It's insane honestly Mike's pastry customers should line up on the left side of the bakery.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Our family was early for a 5 pm dinner reservation down the street on 4/14/22, and we wanted to get off our feet and have a drink to kill some time. We were 6 adults and 3 teenagers. Having been in the neighborhood just twice before (from California), we weren't sure where we could find something quickly. We came upon Caffe Dello Sport and it seemed quite busy, however, we walked in and found seats on various tables spread throughout the cafe. The lady attending to us was amazing. She went back and forth from pouring drinks to delivering them while navigating flawlessly to our 3 separate tables. As we enjoyed our drinks, we watched a soccer match with some very friendly locals and learned a little more about the neighborhood. All in all the service was outstanding and it was definitely a friendly vibe! We left happy and will most definitely try to stop by in the future!

AannMarie B.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! We had a caprese panini and prosciutto panini with an iced vanilla chai latte and latte macchiato, and after we got the hazelnut gelato! Totally recommend!!

Mrs.Jeffrey L.

Yelp
had a nice cappucino with a shot of amaretto and cannolis with my family. Walked right in on a sunny Sunday in North End. Service was sloooow but to be expected. I don't think they needed music playing and the game at the same time in such a small place, but whatever. Sat and relaxed for about 40 minutes or so after a long walk from ICA. Watched the extemely long line for Mike's pastry. Why? there are good cannolis around the corner and a mile from my house. Will never understand the hype for Mike's.

Joanna C.

Yelp
Came here recently to redeem a Nift gift certificate and was thoroughly pleased! I ordered a medium iced Cappuccino (which was at least 24 oz) and under $5 which is very good considering the size! I also got a cannoli which was pretty decent. The cafe is larger than it looks from the outside with plenty of indoor seating. I would definitely come here again with friends to try out some of their other coffee drinks!

Merek C.

Yelp
As a California native, my review is undoubtedly biased and very cliche, like totally cliche and rad...brah. Stopped in for a cappuccino and cannoli after a good walk around the city. The place is clean and well kept, and the workers here are very nice. While my food and drink were good, what I enjoyed most was seeing how connected this place felt to the community. I saw people walking in and out for their daily espresso, talking shop with the front of house guy. I saw people just studying or reading a book next to the window, and Bruins fans taking in some grub before an afternoon game. Yes, there was a place a building down with lines out the door at Mike's, and yes the cafe next to Mike's was much more busy, but the fact that this place still exists is a testament to the fact that the people who live in the community support this place and, that should mean a lot. If you're a tourist on the move there's probably a good chance you won't see this post, but if you do, I highly recommend stopping by this place. Grab a seat, take a load off your feet, and see the community interact around you. It truly is a beautiful thing, and those Boston accents are "hella" dope too.
