"Cafe Torino is a tiny cafe serves Italian espresso, has great WiFi, and is pretty quiet all day - with the exception of coffee machine noises. It’s the perfect place in South Lake Union to get some work done without the fear of running into someone you know." - Aimee Rizzo

Went into this place after hitting a workout. We weren’t sure if it was open. But saw some people in there and were happy it was. Very clean. The inside was super cute. The manager made me an excellent coffee. I also noticed sandwiches and she toasted it. Let me tell you!!!! Get a sandwich. Soooo good!

Pleeeease do yourself a solid and admire the beautiful lamination of these pastries. So light, so airy, so many layers. Someone works their tail off to bring you this lovely bit of heaven. The Lavender honey latte is also the perfect amount of sweet and bitter.

Google
I quite like this place, but I have to admit part of its appeal is its proximity to my residence. I've never been blown away but also never disappointed by the food here. It's a nice little hangout that I would happily frequent again.

Google
I paid eight dollars for a Salami sandwich and it was worth every penny. Friendly and helpful staff, a relaxing environment, and amazing food. This place has it all.

Google
The ham panini with cheese and carmelized onions was awesome!!! Will be back to try more and get another one of those. Was able to sit and eat inside during COVID which was nice on a rainy day

Google
This place is never open when Google says it's open. I've edited the hours multiple times but the owners keep changing it back. It's not open at 6:30 like Google says or 7 like the door says, maybe 8? maybe 9? Totally unreliable, go elsewhere. Past review: Great coffee and friendly staff. Good customer service. Definitely underrated.

Google
Ordered a triple Americano and we got a watered down abomination. I brought it up to another barista and he went out of his way to calibrate the machine and remake the drink. The remade America was fantastic.

** UPDATE 2023: They have cleaned up their front but I am only moving this from 1 star to 3 because the women who typically works/makes the drinks is very nice ** I live very close to this café, I’ve actually had coffee here. The coffee is not bad… But over the last couple of months I’ve noticed a few things, one of which being that this disgusting trash pile never goes away. It’s hidden by a fence so when you walk into the café you don’t see it but if you walk past the café (which hardly anyone goes this way) you would see this. And from my time in the industry there’s only one thing this much trash, food debris and over all disgusting lack of business best practices can mean…rats. The other thing I’ve noticed is how often the owners sit outside and smoke while the girls who work and do the real work inside are slammed with out the door customers. Good for them hopefully they get good tips but that being said the owners seem negligent and to have VERY low standards on …cleanliness? I mean how do you let it get and stay this bad?! 🤢

Yelp
Food - the blueberry cake was delicious! The PSL oat milk latte was also really good! Service - they were lovely and attentive while I was trying to decide what to order. They also thought my pups were cute and were very kind while I was deciding. Ambiance - it's a cute little spot. There's more space inside than it looks like and the patio is nice to sit and eat on. Dog friendly is always a plus to me!

Yelp
Okay! So since my favorite place down the street closed; I've been looking for another great coffee and morning sandwich shop. Well I definitely found it! I think I also have a new favorite drink The Latte Miele! It appears to be a Spanish or French style coffee (I know, big rang there reviewer). "Known as Cafe con Miel to the Spaniards and Café Miel to the French, this easy-to-prepare drink is sweet and flavorful, in other words, the perfect indulgence" ANYWAY! I love it! It has FRESH orange zest & honey syrup! Its so perfect for these cloudy summer Seattle days. It will definitely brighten your morning to get your through to the sunshine afternoon. I would love to come back and try their breakfast sandwiches, I just already had breakfast. However, that does mean there will be a next time! This play is cozy, so defiantly not a place for crowds, and the set up is very awkward. I didn't even notice they sold breakfast sandwiches; i thought it was just coffee /tea & pastries. A 16oz coffee is around $6 dollars and pastries are about $4. The sandwiches are ~$10 So its up there $$ I am giving it 4/5 starts mainly because the server seemed a tad frazzled. They kept it on lock though and still got my latte out quickly. They also were pleasant, so i really didn't mind. I just might not come here if I were on a time crunch, just in case.

Yelp
Popped in here on a whim and the place did not disappoint! I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I asked the barista what they would recommend. She recommended a Honey Lavender Latte and it tasted great!! The barista was extremely kind and even asked for my thoughts on the coffee afterwards. The cafe has a really solid vibe on the inside and I would definitely recommend checking it out!

Mikayla C.

Yelp
Definitely the best coffee in the neighborhood, tied with Cafe Ladro. The prices can't be beat, the menu is super diverse and has many unique items. Every person I've interacted with has been super kind and helpful. They also have a ton of pastries/sandwiches, more than any coffee shop in the area. There's a ton of space to sit and read or study. Overall, couldn't recommend enough!

Yash K.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop with some specialty coffee options. I tried the LatteMiele which had honey and orange zest and tasted pretty good. Has a nice ambience as well. One issue is that it opens a bit late than what the timings say.

Tazeen L.

Yelp
This neighborhood place has turned into one of my weekend morning mainstays with great coffee and yummy pastries. I've tried the honey lavender latte and Miele, which had honey and orange zest. Also had the spinach puff pastry and the leek pastry, both flaky, rich, and worth the calories. Everything is reasonably priced, service is friendly, and there's some outdoor seating. Planning to check them out for lunch soon....

Gina L.

Yelp
Setting: This is a cute café and coffee shop in downtown Seattle. There is plenty for indoor and outdoor seating and it is decorated really well on inside. Food: I originally went to this place to just get breakfast and do some work because they were allowing indoor seating during Covid. However when one of the staff brought my food out, he also gave me a cold brew coffee "on the house"! I ate a egg and cheese croissant, hashbrowns and drank the cold brew. All three were excellent. The only feedback was that the hash brown was not as crispy as I would've liked but it was still good. Value: Everything was really fairly priced. This is a very reasonable place to get breakfast and some coffee. The Paninis look really good and that is some thing I'll probably try the next time I go. Service: I could not say enough about the service. Both of the barista's warmly welcomed each customer as they walked through the door. Like I mentioned above, one of the staff offered me a complimentary drink just for being a customer. Other: The WiFi speed was really fast and didn't deter me from doing my work at all. This would be overly great spot to come to do some work from home especially if you are sick of the monotony of working in your own home. I will definitely come back and support this local business again.

Patrick L.

Yelp
Serving delicious pastries and sandwiches. Also they make wonderful espresso drinks/ coffee using the Illy line of coffee beans.

Jay B.

Yelp
The location in the University Book Store is a joke. It seems like it's never open. When it is you have to interrupt the barista from staring at their phone to get them to wait on you. I will say the few times I've actually been able to get a coffee it's been good. It's just too bad they aren't open regularly.

Sneha P.

Yelp
This spot is super cute. I wish I was able to go while dining in was an option. My friend and I picked up coffees to go. I ordered the latte miele. It had orange zest on the top. My friend ordered the lavender latte. We both enjoyed our drinks. I think I would order a different drink though the next time I visit. If you are thinking of checking this spot out though, I definitely think you should. They have interesting drinks!

Kirsten L.

Yelp
Staff are always friendly and their honey lavender latte iced is amazing Definitely try their English muffin breakfast sandwich. It's pretty tasty

Landon K.

Yelp
If you see that the croissants are still sitting on the baking sheet fresh from their oven, buy a couple. One of the few shops that actually bakes their pastries fresh instead of getting from a wholesale bakery and the freshness shows. Their raspberry croissant fresh and hot from the oven is the best pastry I've ever had.

Sarah A.

Yelp
Their ILLY coffee is awesome - maybe not the current barista. I do not find her coffees consistent. I also think their selection of cake slices, cookies, croissants and savory sandwiches are the BEST!

Travis G.

Yelp
my son you says - The pizza puff pastry are very - all pastries were good - Tell me what we should come back here

Sara V.

Yelp
This is a nice clean little spot that's great for meeting up with friends and coworkers if you frequent that area. There aren't a whole lot of choices in that little strip but Cafe Torino is a perfectly fine choice. Last time I was there they had nice outdoor seating and a bit of indoor seating.

Unconventional B.

Yelp
My heroes during COVID19 and all times. Jay and Lee are the kindest dudes. Korean-American owned with a touch of family feel and neighborly love. Definitely my go to spot for coffee in the SLU.

Kristina B.

Yelp
This cafe is part of why I never want leave this neighborhood. This is the best bakery in Seattle period. You haven't had a croissant until you've had one of Caffè Torino's croissants. Or their matcha green tea bread. Or their ginger cookies. And their coffee. And their service? The other reason I can't leave. Cafe Torino staff are literally getting me through the quarantine. I love these people; please do yourself a favor and make a visit.

Amanda N.

Yelp
Located in South Lake Union. Small coffee shop discovered as I was walking around the neighborhood. Friendly service. Clean area.

Yelp
Cute little coffee place in Seattle. Good coffee and yummy food. Stopped while I was waiting for work to open and nice gentleman working.

Minsoo L.

Yelp
Ridiculously incompetent staff Wrong order, double charge, rude - trifecta of crap service

Ai T.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and ordered the prosciutto panini, cold pasta, and a delicious London Fog latte. The combination of the panini was delicious. As for the cold pasta, you can't really go wrong with cold pasta. It's simple and delicious. The London Fog was very flavor and would recommend it.

Jen H.

Yelp
I went to lunch with my co-workers here. There is limited outdoor seating available including a picnic style bench that seated 5 of us. It took awhile to order and get our food during lunch time. There were only 2 people working and it seemed like they didn't develop an efficient system. Food was decent but not spectacular. Many of sandwiches were pre-packaged and were reheated. If you want freshly made sandwiches, then this place is not for you. I ordered the eggplant panini and it was a little underwhelming. It lacked flavor and probably needed more seasoning. The side salads were okay but again not amazing. They do allow you to mix salads though if you are having trouble deciding. They do also serve coffee and pastries there. Maybe that's better?

Dana B.

Yelp
This is one of the worst experiences for me. I placed an order with them for breakfast sandwich week ago. Instead of brioche I got croissant. Ok. Mistakes happen. I placed 2nd order today. Asked for breakfast sandwich with ham and egg and side salad with no feta. Sandwich arrived. Omg. It's croissant again. And egg amount is nonexistent. But they put extra cheese which I didn't order. Now, let's move on to the salad. Can you imagine my surprise when I saw extra feta cheese? Well, this one was given to co-worker because I cannot have feta. I don't know who runs this place but common. 2 orders and both messed up.

Yelp
Came to Caffe Torino with a Groupon to use. I'm not often in South Lake Union but found the cafe easily, yet is was a bit off the main drag. It is quite small but they do have a few tables to sit at inside as well as a nice patio to sit outside. It looks like they do mostly coffee and pastries but I was here for dinner. I really like that they have a display case to see the food options and I also really like that they offer 1/2 sandwich and side or soup options as I like to have tastes of a lot of different things. After much debating (their gazpacho was really refreshing and I almost got that) I decided on a half of the roasted eggplant panini with the brussel sprout side. They generously customized my panini by adding some ham which was really kind without a charge even. The panini was delicious with a capitol "D"!! It had broiled herb-marinated eggplant, oven roasted tomatoes, and pesto, along with the ham I chose. So simple, yet so flavorful, and without the ham addition it would have been vegan. The brussels were also amazing, tossed with apple and bacon it was a great side. I look forward to going back and possibly trying another sandwich, some of their changing soups, or the kale or beet salads. A perfect summer dinner in a quiet cafe.

Yelp
My go to coffee for SLU other than laddro. Very consistent and approachable coffee shop that's my go to for daily coffee runs. Very friendly staff that Always knows my order. Love their sandwiches and quiches. Definitely recommend for a low key and easy going atmosphere.

Ron B.

Yelp
Great place. Best potato soup I've had! Wish they ALWAYS had it. Sandwiches and salads are always good as well. Great neighborhood spot for SLU.

Shorty C.

Yelp
Ordered from here with Uber Eats. Had the salami sandwich and the prosciutto sandwich. Both had maybe 1-3 slices of meat and a lot of bread. Also ordered the Mac and cheese with "meat". But there was no meat!

Anastasya P.

Yelp
Cute, colorful coffee shop. When I went to school close by I would come here almost every day for a mocha or sandwich. Almost always got the salame sandwich and a white mocha. Both were good. The atmosphere is calm and I kind of like the orange theme, along with the art pieces which change regularly - different from most place. The staff is usually friendly and prompt, and I've rarely had any complaints about the wait time or the quality of the food and coffee.

Megan N.

Yelp
Everything here is always so good. I love the coffee beans they use - illy, soooo good! Their turkey sandwich is unreal, their kale salad is WOW and their pastries are heaven in a bite. My fav pastry is the cheese egg croissant in the AM and all the others in the afternoon. Highly recommend!

Justin Suk-Hyun S.

Yelp
Tried their cold brew with sparkling water and sandwiches and salad and it was great. The employees were kind and knowledgeable. If it is your first time trying at this caffe try the cold brew. Sometimes it is sold out but once you get it you will be getting it everyday if you are coffee lover.

Tommy P.

Yelp
One of if not the best Caffe's in Seattle! Very much on the rise with fresh Italian coffee, soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts created daily!

Gabriel C.

Yelp
Modella - tasty sandwich \ panini. Would recommend for a quick stop in :) came with a large group and the worker easily handled all our orders quickly and promptly

Alicia E.

Yelp
UPDATE: I am editing my review because it will not let me respond to the owner's response below. I own a business and completely understand that traffic coming in and out of your facility can be unpredictable. That said, there were TWO people on staff while I was there that were working behind the counter. I appreciate the accommodation made by giving me caramel in my drink and I am happy to know that it is the same thing as a caramel latte, but the eye roll at me when I asked, was inappropriate. I also appreciate that the owner took the time to respond. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Highly unimpressed. Cute place and the food smelled delish but the service was SLOW and subpar. It took 12 minutes from the time I ordered to when I got my drink. One drink. So slow. He handed it to me and said "caramel latte". I said "oh I ordered a caramel machiato". He rolled his eyes at me and said "same thing". Sorry! Ha. Wouldn't waste your time here.

Tony D.

Yelp
Been coming here for a couple of weeks. Terrific cold brew and friendly staff. Not too pricey either.

Anna L.

Yelp
Such a great neighborhood spot. Super friendly staff, delicious coffee and baked goods, reasonable prices. I want to come everyday!

Emily B.

Yelp
I had a cappuccino, a scone and a quiche. Everything was fine and tasted good. However, the girl who made my drink was coughing a lot and then had an extensive conversation with a visiting friend/customer about how she had been sick for a week. Very gross.

Marie B.

Yelp
Last time I was here was with the kiddo back on 10/20/12 where was just hot beverages and cookies to dodge the construction. So it was quite a change to see construction completed and occupied with my late afternoon solo visit on 8/24/14. I had a whole Prosciutto cotto - prosciutto, caramelized onions, fontina cheese, in a toasted ciabatta roll ($8.22). 16 ounce iced mocha ($3.95), and a chocolate dipped cookie ($1.25). It was a nice 90 minutes getting a feel of the vibe, catching up on reading, some writing, and then filling out a job application. This is a nice Eastlake/South Lake Union café with decent hours throughout the week.

Amy K.

Yelp
A must place to visit when you are in SLU! Super cute and cozy and their coffee is amazing. I highly recommend to try their bakeries as well :)!

Harshit G.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and snacks. Really friendly servers! There is a huge variety of coffee and food to choose from and is really convinient for a to go orders.

Fabian G.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee and outstanding service! If you search for a good smalltalk, a great environment and well selected croissants and other biscuits don't miss this place! My favorite spot in South Lake Union.

Aubra W.

Yelp
Good place for coffee and tea. Good pastry selection, but if you grab a drink and a pastry, you're looking at $10 before tip. It's a cozy little place and I love that they change out their art every few months (local artists and you can purchase their art!). They're also open 7 days a week!

Francesca E.

Yelp
Stopped in to study, grab some food and coffee. We frequent the bar next door, but never early enough to get coffee here. I got cold brew which was pretty good, a spinach and mushroom pie and quinoa salad. The spinach and mushroom pie was great, but the quinoa salad was exceedingly bland with with plain green beans thrown in. I'll probably come back, because the coffee was good and there's lots of other promising food, just going to skip the quinoa.

Paul E.

Yelp
Try their sandwich and soup! Not typical deli/coffee shop ones! Great location for people who live near by walking distance

Mayte L.

Yelp
After having a really bad interaction at another neighborhood coffee shop, I went into Caffe Torino just looking to get my caffeine fix. I got that and more. The barista there is awesome! Her customer focus makes this place have such a welcoming and open vibe to it. I had gotten so used to snotty baristas that you can't begin to understand how refreshing it was to speak to someone that is friendly. Thank you for turning a bad morning into a great one!

Babette A.

Yelp
Seriously yummy food and suuuuper awesome service (such nice folks!). I love this place for either breakfast or lunch, and the drinks are super good too! I have only good things to say about this place.

Jieun Y.

Yelp
This is probably the greatest coffee place in South lake union! There are a lot of choices to eat as breakfast and lunch with coffee :) Not only do they have best panini and croissant sandwiches but also latte! Every time when I'm here, I feel like "good vibes only". I'd recommend hitting up Caffè Torino if you like a good cup of coffee and food with cozy atmosphere.

K C.

Yelp
This little corner have been impressive in its own unique style. There is the casual chill interior decor, the coffee is exceptional the times that I had visit. The dark mocha is to die for in my opinion, along with there variety of panini. Everything taste fresh from the panini press to my plate, just an amazing spot to do about your business or time with friends. There are benches outside that you can enjoy the sun when there is. Alongside they have some amazing pastries as well, what more can one expect a coffee shop. The baristas are friendly and attentive as well with thé exceptionnel coffee making skills.

Jt K.

Yelp
I only had a latte but it was really good. All the food looks fresh and delicious...definitely I'll come here more often!!
