17 London Bars You Can Book For Your Birthday

"Unless we’re massively underestimating the age span of our readership—or the general life span of humans in the 21st century—we can safely say that you probably weren’t alive during the 1940s. Which is exactly what makes a night at Cahoots in Carnaby feel quite so unique. Inside a jazzed-up abandoned tube carriage, it’s a 1940s, D-day celebrations-themed bar with a live swing band and a seriously long list of excellent cocktails. Sure, it can be a little corny but you’re guaranteed a whole lot of fun until the early hours. Heads up, there’s a minimum spend of £25 per person. The 15 Best Outdoor Bars In London

"Cahoots is a 1940s-inspired bar in Soho and it’s very committed to the theme. Yes, it’s a little corny but when it comes to needing an alfresco cocktail in Soho that doesn’t taste like the tears of Pat Butcher, it’s a useful place to know about. The outdoor seating behind Carnaby Street isn’t as much of a D-Day extravaganza as indoors, so what you’re left with is nice vintage chairs, top liquor-heavy cocktails, and an upbeat atmosphere. Our personal favourite is the smoky Off The Rails number." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

Where To Take Your Friend Who's Going Through A Break-Up

"You can’t go back in time and stop your friend from sitting on that patch of grass in Primrose Hill where she first met her wretched ex. But you can book a table at this bar in Soho and pretend like he never existed altogether—at least not in this lifetime. Inside a jazzed-up abandoned tube carriage, Cahoots is a 1940s, D-day celebrations themed bar with a live swing band and a long list of excellent cocktails. It can be a little corny and a bit of a sensory overload, but you’re guaranteed a whole lot of fun until the early hours." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

Google
A place worth visiting when in London! We were lucky enough to find seats without a reservation, but it's always pretty full. They have both simple but also different themed cocktails that come in super interesting glasses. The decor is modelled after a tube station.

Google
Best cocktail bar! The cocktails are extensive and all were lush. Thank you to Izzie for giving us brilliant recommendations, made the night even better. The decor and atmosphere can keep you there all night. And the live band were awesome. No notes, best cocktail bar. I need to come back

Google
think 40s style TfL underground mixed with an American prohibition-era speakeasy - if any of this is down your alley, Cahoots Underground is highly recommended! (they have a separate pub and a post office themed bar as well) the staff were LOVELY - we were served by the amazing Daniel, who went out of his way to share everything he knew about the cocktails on offer! Daniel gave excellent recommendation that suited my taste! They always checked in on us throughout our visit and made sure we had an amazing time. The waiting staff as well as the staff at the door were also super friendly and understanding - amazing customer service The drinks are DELICIOUS - this is what my friend and I had from the VARIETY OF DRINKS on offer: The Lizzie, the Churchill (they come in special Staffordshire pottery types mugs haha) The roasted daisy, the prohibition lantern The staff are very knowledgeable so feel free to ask them anything about your drink! Definitely reserve in advance before coming. Also they have a very small selection of small plates so be prepared.

Google
On the site of an eighties wine bar but pulling its theme forty years back to position itself firmly in the present (guests have no need for period costume). Good value for such a central location and plenty of choice of food and drinks in a comfortable setting with quirky decor.

Google
Cahoots Underground was such a unique and fascinating location – full of character and atmosphere. The cocktails were honestly the best we’ve ever had! I tried the Roasted Daisy, which had an amazing pineapple flavor. With every sip, the taste kept evolving – it was like a little journey in a glass. I absolutely recommend this place. If I ever come back to London, I’ll definitely visit again!

Google
Great atmosphere and pure nostalgia. Service was good however, drinks were not totally to our taste, but I think we just choose the wrong ones. Music is great and really creates a good atmosphere. The details they have put in with posters and memorabilia really help to create a 1940s vibe rights down to the toilets. We booked but it was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday when we arrived.

Nir “Yoggi” Yogev

Google
Nice Concept, Underwhelming Execution The bar is designed like a London Underground train tube, which is a cool and creative concept. However, there’s no food available – so if you're the kind of person who needs a bite with your drink, this isn't the place for you. They offer only three types of snacks. We went for the olives – they were large and meaty, but definitely overpriced. Cocktails were okay taste-wise, but again, not worth the price. Overall, it’s not the kind of bar I’d go back to.

Google
Considering the hype around advance booking, the wait before entering, it delivers on the ambiance but not the cocktails. As you walk in, the place, the decor just fascinates you. Underground 1940's recreated experience and an eye for detail is amazing, memorable & worth a visit. Cocktails menu is large and imaginative but for me it ended there. The music and the ambience lifts your spirit, I wish the cocktails did the same.

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation, but were seated within 5mins. The walk down to the "train station" felt very authentic. There were so many photo opportunities, I didn't make it all the way down for quite some time lol We were greeted by a very jolly guy who was excited to show us around, once we told him it was our first time here. The place was booming! Every table was taken, except for maybe 2 or 3. The walls are decorated to give you that 1940's feel & the music was playing classics from then as well. The menus were news papers & fuuuuull of a variety of choices. It takes a while to read through, but worth it. I ordered the tart daiquiri, which was pretty boozy but really good. & the Seven Day Wonder, which was tequila based. That was pretty sweet, but still really good. Our server, Joe was so funny! His English wasn't the best & he spoke very fast, but he was actually really funny!

Yelp
Happened to be walking by and recognized Cahoots immediately from a TikTok I had seen! It was about 3 PM, and we were able to walk in without a reservation. I'm so glad it worked out because this was easily one of the coolest bars I've ever been to! You are truly transported to another time. This is everything a speakeasy should be. Nestled under a bridge just up from the iconic Borough Market, this was the perfect end to an afternoon. I also had 2 of the best drinks I've ever had. We started off with When Life Gives You Maurice (an adorable cat character they've created), served in a cat teapot with teacups. The drink inside is an earl grey tea with sherbet and a bunch of other stuff - so delicious and refreshing! I also ordered the Winston Churchill, served in an iconic bust mug. This one was a Guava/Gin concoction topped with Grapefruit soda. I was excited to buy one of the mugs, but unfortunately they were all out, so I just got a few of their enamel pins instead, which made for a great souvenir. I can't wait to come back here and to send everyone I know here on their trips to London! They've done such a great job of creating an all-around experience from the entrance to the service, and everything in between without it feeling too kitschy.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar in the world. Its decor is absolutely charming- a throwback, retro, dimly-lit, pure fun haven of great cocktails. The menu is huge and each drink comes in a different, instagrammable glass. But the best part is the details in the decor. Every corner is thoughtful and cute. The gone with the waves was good, but the farmers snack box was better. And both were blown away by the perfetto.

Yelp
Obsessed! So glad I found this place on Instagram. First off, it's in an adorable area of London with lots of cute restaurants. Secondly, it's just such a cool spot, you really do feel like you stepped back in time! It's so IG/Tik Tok friendly. Drinks were so fun, the chicken sandwich we ordered was very good too. Highly recommend if you're in London. It's almost like a museum / restaurant all in one. I wish the speak easy train cocktail bar was open when we were there! Next time!

Yelp
My friend suggested Cahoots Bar for some drinks on a weeknight and it was sucha great recommendation! Cahoots is a 1940s-themed bar located in the heart of London's Soho. It is made up of three spaces: The Underground, Ticket Hall & Signal Station, that allows you to step back in time and enjoy each quirky space. It is definitely a very unique speakeasy I've ever been to! They have a wide range of drinks, all of them following the underground theme. My friend and I wanted to try tequila based cocktails. My friend ordered a Paloma and I tried a Perfetto which was tequila with coffee liqueur and popcorn foam. It was a bit sweet because of the foam but overall I really enjoyed my drink! Definitely give Cahoots a try for its unique twist on drinks and a good speakeasy experience.

Mai N.

Yelp
We just had snacks but the drink options are creative if you are into cocktails, even a handful of non-alcoholic offerings in fancy glasses. The ambiance is retro and quirky if just somewhat tight spaces. The wait staff are pretty efficient in bringing the orders once orders are placed. An interesting option to get a drink but remember to book a reservation! ;-)

Georgios R.

Yelp
My friends and I had an extremely disappointing experience when we were denied entry to a table we booked months in advance, simply because one of us was wearing trainers (smart casual white plain and clean trainers). Needless to say that all of us were "well-presented" as suggested on the website. The man at the door was rude and dismissive, scanning our outfits and sarcastically asking, "Didn't you look at our website?" Nowhere on the website or in the booking confirmation does it mention a dress code prohibiting trainers (see attached screenshot). When we showed him the website, clearly proving there was no mention of footwear requirements, he just stared at us blankly without saying a word. His attitude was appalling. We've been regular patrons in the past, but after this disgraceful treatment, we won't be returning.
google avatar

Reh L.

Yelp
Really fun WW2 themed cocktail bar! The staff go all out, from the dress to the decor to the menu - every little detail was thoroughly on theme. Even the DJ was mixing old 90s R&B classics in a funky, jazzy way. The drinks were excellent too, overall would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
It's a Great themed bar with drinks that transport you to the 1940s throughout both its rather interesting sections. One of them being in a separate building, just outside of the main front Ticket Hall. We had walked from Liberty London after exploring Soho, Chinatown, and Carnaby Street and wanted to rest our weary feet. Luckily, we had made it just in time to at their 5pm opening of their underground bar, located downstairs in another building just outside of the ticket hall (right at one of the Kingly Court exits). We were told to wait and were offered water while we waited inside from the rain. We were soon deceding downstairs a subway station that becomes a dark, warm, homey feeling bar. The menu is a newspaper as everyone is dressed in the attire or inspired attire of the 1940s. It was quiet when we came and bustling when we left. The drinks were on the more expensive side, but I can understand in a place like this. They also have a few drinks that are non-alcoholic, but the menu is rather small on that front. My drink was served in a chipped cup of who I'm guessing is the person the drink is modeled after: Vera Lynn. It was easy and sweet, and I would've enjoyed another cocktail or come back for one of thier events (escape room, trivia night) if it weren't for our tight schedule. We were never rushed, had delicious drinks, with a great theme, and fun ambiance. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! I was even allowed to take the newspaper menu and bought one of their fun pins from their merchandise line (it looks like a little ticket!). I'll be here again if I find myself in London, thanks for the fun, Cahoots!

Yelp
A hidden gem in SoHo! The staff, decor and drinks were superb! We sat at the bar and Andre took care of us. He had excellent recommendations based on our flavor profiles and was very kind and friendly. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Always lots of fun and great service at Cahoots - really fun and a place we often take visitors to London.

Yelp
Best execution of a theme bar/restaurant we have ever experienced, and we have sought out many. We opted for the Underground. The integration of period-era decor, posters, adverts, history, wartime/swing music, outstanding creative cocktails and nibbles, wording on the menus and marketing, signage, cozy vintage furniture and vibes, triple bar theme choice, low light, ambiance, speakeasy nooks and crannies....all outstanding attention to detail to such a deep level, it blew our minds. All theme bars in future will have a tough time living up to this. Had this on our list for a while, and so thrilled it surpassed every expectation. We will rave to anyone who will listen. We appreciate the thoroughness in creating a full and immersive experience that merges past, present, and innovative future. Cheers!

Yelp
Must try: "Enemy of the State" - wasabi-watermelon tequila cocktail TLDR; An absolute must for interesting cocktail lovers The drinks - Cahoots has the most interesting cocktail menu I've ever seen. They do a great job breaking up the menu by themes - fruity, oily, even milky cocktails. Each one we tried was delicious and extremely well balanced. Vibes - This completely unique cocktail bar takes you underground to a top-to-bottom themed abandoned subway station in old-time London. The music and energy was exciting but not too loud to have friendly conversation. The staff was friendly and prompt for UK service. Even their shots come in a themed railcar for us to enjoy. I'm recommending this place as a must-go for all my imbibing London visitors.
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
The music is wrong. I cannot decide if it bothers me. I came here for time travel, after all, and it's impossible to escape to the 1940s when it is Lesley Gore and not Glenn Miller playing. And yet... I could swear if I got up from this little table and walked around the corner, I'd find a doorway leading into a dancefloor, American pilots twirling local girls to the jitterbug. The bartender, in a vintage black jumpsuit, brings us our drinks, and I'm momentarily distracted by the marmalade-dressed biscuit on the edge of my glass. Time travel can wait. I'm happy enough without sugar rationing.
google avatar

Merrill O.

Yelp
What a fun spot! Loved the 1940's memorabilia and vibe...including the live music that was happening the night we were there. Drinks are a tad on the pricey side, but there is a time limit of how long you can stay (it was 2 hours the evening we visited), so you'll probably not manage to run up a massive bar bill anyway. (Or maybe you will, in which case, cheers to you!) But, the cocktails are all beautiful and tasty, and it's a fun spot to catch up with friends. Enjoy!!

Yelp
Food: The bar bites were fantastic Drinks: Unique and mostly yummy Service: Super friendly and played the part Ambiance: Unreal how well it was done Price: Above average but worth it for the ambiance Overall, a fantastic experience. We made a reservation online several weeks in advance. Make sure when you make your reservation that you request the underground as there is an above ground bar. Once we arrived, we checked in at the front and we're told that we had to be on time as we were early. Then we came back and they checked us in and brought us downstairs to the lovely Marcel who played the part of a post-World war II mater d very well. We were then brought to a table which all the tables are a mixed smorgasbord of thrift store chic. The inside is decorated to perfection of this speakeasy hidden away rail car fanfare. We ordered some of the popular cocktails off the menu such as the Winston Churchill and the milk boy cocktail. I would say out the drinks that I ordered they were all very delish. Although because there's a lot of different mixed alcohols, I would say maybe stick with one or two types. You can always switch to a regular cocktail at any time. At the end, I just got a regular gin and soda. The food was phenomenal even though it was just barbites. The arancini were cheesy and delicious. The croquettes, although not traditional croquettes by the Latin standard were very good. The only thing I would say is that for the Winston Churchill beverage it was mostly ice with very little liquid in it. It. I would maybe ease up on the ice on that drink. Overall, the 2 hours flew by and the staff was super friendly and helpful and played their roles to a tee. If I return to town I would absolutely book this experience again.

Yelp
Very cutesy bar! Loved the specialized drinks made for coronation! Great spot to hang out with friends or a date spot!

Cj O.

Yelp
Can't speak to the drinks because we never were served. Service was abysmal, literally non existent at 6:30pm, almost like we were being intentionally ignored. We sat for almost 30 minutes with no server ever coming to greet us. Quite sad after all the great things we've heard about this place.
google avatar

Julian D.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and the drinks. Was great place to grab a drink after dinner. It was the first bar we went to in London, and it did not disappoint.
google avatar

Benjamin B.

Yelp
This...... is THE PLACE to go. The atmosphere is a post WWII bar spot with memorabilia and actors of the times. Everyone and every moment was an experience to remember. I would like to point out that Georgio was the best server that anyone could ask for. Funny, polite, and entertaining from the moment we sat down to leaving the bar. I recommend calling in a reservation because walk ins are not guaranteed. Thank you for the experience!!!
google avatar

June S.

Yelp
We went to the Cahoots Underground. It is a 1940s-themed bar, offering illicit cocktails and rations. There was a really nice and friendly host, manning the entrance. He was checking everyone's reservation, and making sure the table for each guest group is ready, before sending a group down. Once our table was ready, a staff escorted us down, and to our table. The area was much larger than I expected it to be. Our table was inside the vintage train carriage! It was awesome! You are encouraged to dress up in the 1940s-ish attire for extra fun, but not mandatory. We got some complimentary popcorn in a can of apple sauce, as we ordered some fun drinks. We ordered Vera Lynn, Marilyn Monroe, Cahooch Sour. The presentation was great, and the drinks were strong and tasty. I wanted to try more drinks, since they were all so interesting, but we were a bit too tired since it was our first day in London, getting there on red eye flight. But we had so much fun!!! I am sure we will go back the next time we visit London!
google avatar

Pamera P.

Yelp
Had an amazing time and our server was so accommodating and entertaining as well! Definitely wished we would've found this place earlier on our trip. I recommend anyone who wants to have some great drinks as well as good vibes at this place. Cheers and we'll be back in the future!

Yelp
This place is awesome. You need a reservation ( can make it online ) . There is a cancellation fee if you don't show up One of my favorite places in London . Amazing service since the moment you walk in the door . They remember everything and made my boyfriend feel very special. Great drinks with awesome Presentation. We sat in the trains ise it was so cute you really feel like you are in a train , the side of the train station is awesome . They were lambing Greta music . They of everything . Even in the bathrooms there is decorations. A must go in London for sure . Hopefully one day I can go back.

Yelp
Georgio is without a doubt the best server I have ever met. What a sales man. He could sell ice to an Eskimo. You've stepped back in time to 1946. The drinks were incredible. Service was immaculate. And the vibes were off the charts. Do not come here if you do not wanna have an experience accompanied with a fire drink.

El B.

Yelp
Such an authentic and cool place! We really enjoyed our drinks and the whole ambience!
google avatar

Shoshana W.

Yelp
Such a fun fun place! Came to London to celebrate my birthday and stumbled upon this location via Yelp. After reading reviews it turned in to a must stop on our trip. Definitely, make reservations. Since it's in a renovated train car, Space is extremely limited! You walk in and can check your coat with a lovely employee. The whole place is a bit dark, but so much fun. It has an old school speakeasy design, and menus are printed on newspapers to view. The vibe of the place was great, and the service was fantastic. The only thing better was the actual taste of the drinks. This is definitely place I'd come back to on my next trip!

Yelp
Many years ago, on my very first night in London -- my friend's cousin invited me out to Cahoots! I was a fresh face fawn brand new in town. It was relatively easy to find and is in the heart of Kingly Court. If you can't find it -- the queue which is usually long as hell will help you find it. It was pretty long, we waited about 20-30 minutes. Luckily it wasn't that cold and everyone was well behaved. It moved fairly quickly so you're not dead in the water for the entire 20/30. The space was very cool. Well decorated and in theme. It's a wee bit crowded but Cahoots is wickedly popular. It was burlesque night. We got a table in the aisle area which was fab because all the acts ran to and fro. Drinks were average. And average cocktail price. The bar is more about the experience than the drinks. It was a fun time and I would recommend it for any newbies in town. It was a great start to my London life.
google avatar

Kay J.

Yelp
I loved my experience at Cahoots Bar! Go to the one underground because you'll have a more fun experience as it depicts "Underground" as a bar. The drinks here were amazing and I had so much fun because of the atmosphere. Their menu is on a newspaper and have delicious cocktails. They also give you a cup of popcorn as a snack, that goes well with all the drinks! I definitely recommend this bar for a cool experience in London! I would make a reservation because some people had to wait over an hour to get in but we got lucky and got in in 10 minutes.
google avatar

Nin J.

Yelp
L O V E L Y, so lovely. This place is sooooo cool! Glad we were able to get in without a reservation. Waited about 20 mins before they let us because space is limited, but it's worth whatever wait. Drinks are made to order and super unique, they put a lot of work in each one.
google avatar

Jessiqa P.

Yelp
We came here after seeing Moulin Rouge to have a night cap and it didn't disappoint. I had The Judy Garland, a decadent drink with champagne, vodka and floral essence. This bunker style space transfers you back to the air raids of World War II where you had to choice but to seize the night because you didn't know what tomorrow would bring. Carpe note' still exists in this trendy night bar.
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
One of the coolest places to check out while in London! From the entrance to the bar all the way to the convincing actors - Cahoots transports you back to 1946! A little pricey but definitely worth it for the ambiance. Would be a little loud for a date - it's located in a basement and everyone talking is pretty loud - especially if there is a live singer. Great for groups as long as you have a reservation ahead of time! My recommendation would be the Frank Sinatra drink if you're a fan of tequila, we were drinking them all night!
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
We came at 10pm which was an hour before closing. Fortunate for us, they let us in since a table had just opened up. We were seated in the subway car, which is modeled off what the trains used to be like back in the 1930s. I absolutely loved the ambiance here especially with the live blues/jazz music. I ordered dodging the bulleit, which is the strongest cocktail I've had in London albeit most cocktails here are weak and seem to have little to no alcohol. Service here was a bit slow at the end when we wanted the bill, otherwise everything else was great! One interesting fact is that the entrance to the bar is actually an original subway entrance that has been remodeled.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Very crowded, even on weeknights, so make a reservation ahead of time. The underground is cool--themed like the train stations and very dive-bar-like in style. The drinks were just okay though
google avatar

Kelda C.

Yelp
If you're in London visiting, make space to go here, you'll be taken back in time, I'm talking like a flashback to the 1920s. You definitely need to make a reservation beforehand. You get sent an email with the password you need at entry, it changes everyday. I remember when my husband and I came here, you were to show your reservation and give your name, the attendant will ask for the password then you're led down a bunch of stairs into another era. The staffs are all in character (attire and even jargon), interior confirmed heavily to the early 1900's (this even extended to the restrooms...they even had old school ads warning of syphilis haha), there were newspapers with old style print and content from time period, the place was dim lit with old school lighting and candles. We had a few drinks while here and they were alright, the vessels that they served them in was very unique and quirky. They also had some food items though we didn't order any.
google avatar

Shaji K.

Yelp
Really interesting bar designed as an old railway car while serving a slew of styled drinks. Tuesday night, only a small line to get into this hard-to-find place, While waiting in line, several others got in through reservation (though even they had to wait a little bit). After about 20 minutes they were able to fit me in the bar section. Was a little surprised to find that there was no seating at the bar, with several patrons standing around the area. Nonetheless, proceeded to order a drink when the bartender had a moment. Wasn't sure what to get, so asked the bartender to make something with a good London-based gin. After a little back and forth, got served a gin and tonic with a fruit on top. Not much to call home about and wasn't nearly as strong for the price I paid (£11). I had also wanted to get some food but the bartender just handed me a check instead after serving the drink. Again, service and wait here can be a hassle late at night, especially without reservation. Unless getting seated, probably better spots to get a drink.
google avatar

Molly R.

Yelp
Super cool spot for a few drinks! We stopped in here after dinner at The Diner around the corner. It's literally just a door - we missed it a few times actually. We didn't have a reservation, but they let us down anyway to stand at the bar. After about 20 minutes, the hostess offered us a table but we loved the bartender so much we stayed by the bar. We each got about three different bartender created concoctions. All prohibition inspired beverages, and very different than our usual wine and beer choices. I'd suggest this spot to anyone for a fun and different night out for drinks with friends.
google avatar

Shiran Aliya E.

Yelp
This is my second review of the place and second time going, I travel to London for business from time time and love the cocktails and service here. Both are quite amazing. The bartenders are so capable and lovely and did such a great job lifting my spirit on a bad day. Both times I visited on Sunday where they had a piano sing along which was pretty fun. The staff including the bouncer at the entrance would make an effort to speak 20s jargon to you which I found so very sweet.

Yelp
Cahoots is super fun. It's definitely one of those "secret" places where you've got to make a reso months in advance (no seriously) and it's just so exciting! At least it is for me, but perhaps that doesn't mean much. What-Ayer. You're taken downstairs and a hostess greets you and I like to think they're all as cute and lovely as the one we had. We were seated and your immediately overwhelmed with how AWESOME the interior is. Dimly lit with super cool music that takes you to another world and you are actually in what looks like an old tube station. There are a LOT of drinks and the menu is very creatively done. Yes, the drinks are expensive but I found them cheaper than the other location at Mr. Foggs. We were paying between £10-14 per cocktail, which is actually quite reasonable considering one of our friends dropped £25 on a single on at Mr. Foggs. But anyway, I really enjoyed The Spicy Rupee and their two chocolates drinks that were still quite strong. We had a lovely time and the waiter was great. You can even get a bite to eat here if you so desire! It would be a fun place to take out of town friends.

Yelp
I loved this bar! When go downstairs "to the trains" that'll take you to the early 1900s (ohhhhh~)! It's a bit dark in there, but enough light to see the person across :) If you don't know what type of drink you want, you can ask the waiters & they'll help you. I loved the one my waiter helped me pick! You also get a mini bowl of popcorn for your nom noms. But basically! Train theme was fun, my waiter was cute, and the drinks were amazing! I hope to come back soon during my next trip to London! Don't forget to make a reservation!

Yelp
Its an "experiential" type of bar, themed on the London underground, and set in the 20s/30s. Basement, so no natural light, and slightly claustrophobic as they pack in the tables. Cocktails are pricey - around the £12 mark - and they are tiny! There is live music at night, even weekday nights, which is great. The only thing is that they warn multiple times there is 1 hour per table rule, but in the end they allowed us to stay for over an hour and a half (we did order two rounds of drinks). Would I go back again? Nah, not for the cocktails, and experiencing this once was enough.

Yelp
If you are looking for a fun night out in a themed bar, then this is your place. Get ready to go back in time, as staff are dressed in character, you will see old transportation signs, newspapers for menus and other nostalgic items around. There is a creative cocktail and food menu. There is so much to look at and a lively atmosphere. Sensory overload! It's the perfect place to bring someone who has seen it all.

Yelp
Love this place!! I found out about this gem from reading blogs of "top things to do while in London" and boy were they not wrong! I came here with my boyfriend on a sat night but was turned away cuz we didn't have a reservation. :( we tried again the following Thursday and this time made a reservation ahead of time. This place is themed after the underground tube (the London subway for y'all non-londoners). The decorations and outfits are all so intricate! The drinks are delicious! The menu can be a bit overwhelming since there's a lot of choices. We had 4 different drinks total and not a single one was bad! the drinks come in different glasses according to what you order and is often paired with a sweet treat. This is a must go to place while in london!!

Yelp
Very easily the coolest bar I've been to in a while Think 1940, London underground; Wooden escalators, jazz music softly playing, wartime ads on the walls. I love this era, and cahoot's delivers it in spades. We tried to get in on a Tuesday around 8, but we're told that they were booked all through the night, and that we should make a reservation if we wanted to come another night. This turned out to be stellar advise, as the next free time was 1030 on a Thursday - and oh man am I happy we waited . Turns out that Wednesday through Saturday there's a live jazz trio, and they set the mood in the most perfect way imaginable. Our seats were located in the "tube car" as opposed to the platform, which seemed like the nicest place you could get (when booking they asked if there was any special occasion, I said engagement, which seems like it helped our placement). The menu is a "newspaper" that has a TON of drinks on it, my recommendation is the 40£ one to share (name esxapese) - it came in a med kit, with two little mugs, two ginger beers and some fog. Truly the coolest place , I highly recommend you make a reservation (so you don't get turned away like all the buzzed woo girls we saw trying to get in night after night), and make sure to dress on the nicer side to fit the theme.

Yelp
A smart, unique experience that can't be missed! Yes, it's a bit pricey but honestly the attention to detail makes it all worth it. I had the Ginger Rogers and whew! was it strong but tasty. Would absolutely return when in the Carnaby area.

Yelp
Yeah, this place is great. Reservation suggested unless you're solo. You'll still find yourself solo standing at the bar but it's no problem because the staff is funny and make Sophia Loren and Jerry's Cherries very tasty! ;) Other reviewers notes through Kingly Court are spot on. Cheers!

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. I think some people could have worked on their American accents a bit though. It was a speakeasy that was fashioned after a prohibition era American speakeasy. A lot of pun names for all of the drinks and basically exactly what you would expect. Get a reservation because allegedly they are always full, so much in fact, that they put a time limit on how long we could be there. Which in my opinion was pretentious but I get it, very small place with limited room... but still. They go all out with decoration and dressing up your drinks, I would say almost to a fault but ultimately that is what you are paying for; a quick escape. Some people even dress up to match the decor. THE VERDICT: I will let you decide if you want to go. It is definitely an experience but I wasn't as blown a way by it as my travel companions. It was more frills than substance but I still had a great 30-45 minutes that we were allotted there. Not a place I would need to go a second time though, but I was happy that I went at least once for the gram.

Yelp
Loved it!!! After moving back to London from NYC I was so excited to find a Speakeasy! We didn't have a reservation, I didn't think it would be an issue at 6pm on a Sunday, but they were really busy and just as we arrived around 5 different groups with reservations turned up so we had to wait around 15-20 minutes to get it. To avoid disappointment I would suggest booking and I will definitely do so in the future. The bar was better than I could have imagined, they have train and tube seating, luggage trunks for tables and cool transport signs dotted around. They even looked to have a tube carriage on the far side of the bar from where we were sat. The menu comes in the form of a 1946 newspaper and there are so many cocktails to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice. They have lots of varieties as well, as sometimes these types of bars have a small menu of very whisky or pure alcohol cocktails to choose from, so I was impressed. The prices aren't too bad either. Note, they do add 12.5% service charge onto your bill as well. All the staff we met were super nice, our waitress decided to sing to us after we were complimenting our Vera Lynn cocktail. They also had a jazz band playing, which was enjoyable background music. The presentation of the cocktails was cool and quirky, although I did find them quite weak and tasted more fruity than alcoholic but I still enjoyed them. Maybe it was because the cocktails I chose were so packed full of ice. (I had the Vera Lynn & Road to Windsor?). You also get given complimentary popcorn at your table, which tasted great, but if you are after something more substantial then they do serve food as well. Another great point about Cahoots is that they can cater for groups of up to 8 people, which is unusual for a speakeasy, and they have pitchers of certain cocktails which you can get for the table. I want to tell all my friends about this place and I can't wait to go back!
