California Brandy House

We went to a Brandy tasting in Napa since we heard great things about this spot. There was a total of 5 different Brandy to try and out of the 5, my favorite was the fourth one. The others tasted a bit more on the harsher side. Service was not as attentive here to our group as other wine tastings we have been to around Napa. Chocolates were recommended by our hostess as a suggestion in case we wanted to pair it with the Brandy. However, our group was a bit shocked that 4 chocolate pieces were $36 which was pricy in comparison to the quality and flavor of the chocolate.

My significant other surprised me with this tasting, loved it! The place inside had a warm welcoming color palette, sleek design and who doesn’t love a sparkly chandelier! Enjoyed the presentation, information and entire experience. The brandy selections were great, a bottle was “adopted” and brought home lol. For me, the star was the charcuterie board! The cheeses, meats and bacon jelly are sourced local, so delicious we obtained the names and bought them at a local market down the street. Highly recommend!

This was a great experience and a wonderful way to expand your wine tasting experience! We had such a lovely time and great conversations. Learning about brandy and the different ways it is distilled and the fruit combinations was truly educational. My husband is a bourbon/cabernet drinker, and I am a scotch/pinit noir drinker. We found a couple of brandy that we both enjoyed tremendously. This was a wonderful experience and palette refresher for us! If you are out wine tasting, you should add this to your list of places to check out.

Lovely selection of brandy, the chocolates were superb, friendly and attentive staff, we left with a bottle of Speculator and truly enjoyed our visit!

This is one of the best non-wine related (but still kind of wine related) experiences you can get in Napa. My wife and I walked in thinking we would have a quick tasting before dinner and ended up staying for about 1.5 - 2 hours. We were just engrossed in the history of brandy and the enthusiasm of everyone there.

For $15, this is one of the best experiences you can get in Napa City that is not wine related - the folks at CBH are awesome and they explain to you in great detail the ingredients & the process of brandy. The bottles on the tasting menu are also fairly priced for what they are.

I am a big fan of brandy, but can’t get good stuff like this around where I’m from. We really enjoyed all of them and went home with a fantastic bottle to enjoy at home.

We blew into town not knowing what to expect but we were eager to get there. The service was outstanding, we felt special, my friend had a bottle engraved for her godson's 30th birthday. The staff gave us lots of attention and educated us on their brand of different brandy's. We appreciated the VIP treatment along with the cocktail chocolates and the Saratoga water. We stretched out and enjoyed ourselves

Wow! What an experience! We made a last minute trip up to Napa so of course we didn't have any reservations. Luckily enough we called at the last minute and they were able to fit us in for a tasting! Our tasting lead was Ryan who is super knowledgeable on all things Brandy! Did you know that Brandy is to Cognac as Sparkling wine is to Champaign! We also loved to hear about the founders or Brandy House and how it came to be! This is more than just a tasting! Such a great experience! Also add on the chocolates! They were the perfect pairing to go along with out tasting. Our favorite was the old fashioned chocolate.

I'm not a brandy girl so this review is mainly for customer service and the ambiance. Staff is super knowledgeable about their offerings and were very nice. I really enjoy taking pics in their lounge while my girl sipped her brandy tasting. A great time

Amazing historians of Brandy. The Flight was amazing. Took a bottle home. By far the best was the XO, my bank account says "gurl...now you know". So I took the 2nd best, can't Rembrandt the name, but it's the 3rd one. I just had 5 string shots...what old I you want from me? . Overall, the experience was amazing. I learned a lot about Brandy.

Good place to hangout with friends and they do have life music. Good service with a good experience

This is the best place for a chill spot and get some tasty brandy as well!! As you approach the door you can see the decor and greeted by a friendly face. We were the only ones in the establishment. It was to have the whole place to ourselves on a Saturday. People don't understand the brandy is made from grapes . You get some notes of the various wine flavors. We love the Fat Thumb and the Germin ones the best!! We had to buy 2 bottles before we left. They have a military discount as well!!!! The staff are some of the best people ever and super duper friendly as well. We will be back often!!

Stumbled in here after a Yelp event and they took us with no reservation we love that! Walked in and was greeted with good vibes. Morgan who was the one serving me did an awesome job with telling me about each pour. Very very knowledgeable with the different types of brandy that was provided in my tasting. She was also a good time and had awesome customer service. You rock Morgan!! Overall I would def come back with some friends a larger group. The space was beautiful, the staff was so friendly and could see me back here on a Saturday exploring downtown Napa! We had an awesome time. I will def add this to my list of recommendations when friends and family come into town.

Amazing Brandy tasting room made from Wine!! Ryan was charming and very informative about the Brandy. A flight was 6 different tastings 3 of them are barrel aged in whiskey barrels and three aged in French Oak. How awesome to try this and the location is fantastic! We will be back!

We had a great time Brandy tasting and learning how Brandy is made. We tried the chocolates that were paired nicely with the Brandy. Customer service was great. We had great conversations with the employees there and ended up purchasing the Germain Robin Single Barrel Pinot Noir Brandy. Definitely a great tasting experience. Thank you for everything! We definitely plan on going back.

Really fun and cute spot. I loved the decor and relaxing vibe. Marissa was amazing! She's super knowledgeable and great to talk too. Honestly, she made the experience so much better. If you like brandy, stop here for sure - also ask for Marissa. Fun times and good people.

Participating in a brandy tasting was such a spontaneous decision. My friend and I were out shopping and passed by the storefront. We loved the warm and inviting decor. From the outside, this appeared to be a cool furniture strore. We walked inside out of pure curiosity. To our surprise, it was a brandy room! We loved our brandy tasting experience here! It was very impulsive. Bryan was our brandy expert. He walked us through the tasting explaining all the details for each pour. We bought a few bottles and then continued shopping. We will definitely come back.

Great experience in downtown Napa if you are looking to try something new. The place has great interior design, very thoughtfully done. My husband did the brandy tasting and he really enjoyed it. The place wasn't super crowded when we went so we got a chance to talk with all the staff members and they were all very knowledgeable about the product and process. The bottles were priced between $40-$200 and we were also able to get a bottle engraved which was super cool.

Came across this nice, quaint spot and walked away impressed and an even bigger Brandy fan. Learned a lot in a short span and I can say that I'm a fan of the California Brandy House's selections of Brandy's. They are definitely not selling the usual dessert Brandy wine. If you're in the area, looking for a place to chill, enjoy the ambiance plus a sip & chocolates...stop by and soak it up.

We had so much fun! My mom loves brandy and I got her this tasting for Christmas and she had so much fun, props to marissa( if I spelt that right) but she was very helpful and knew her stuff and made it feel like we knew what we were tasting.

We were downtown Napa taking in the scenery. We decided to Change it up and do something a little different. As everything now a days need reservations we were expected to get info for reservations. One of the employees came out while we were looking up info and actually told us to come right in. The place was a cute store front fully stocked with all kinds of brandy that they offer. It was clean and airy. The staff was so nice and informative giving us a little history about brandy. They even gave us a little list of places to eat in the area. We did a tasting at the bar. Your tasting comes with 5 different brandy. Our group liked the first and the last out of the five. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. I really suggest if you have time in your schedule please stop by during your visit downtown Napa.

This place is so cool. Never have I ever been brandy tasting. A friend of mines told me about this place and we had to check it out. We spoke to Marissa over the phone and she was super friendly and booked our reservation for our tasting. Sebastian greeted and welcomed us and also gave us a mini tour of the place which is filled with lots of information and things for purchase. The inside of this place has such a cool and laid back vibe. Brian was our server and he was also very knowledgeable and in-tuned with what we were served. Overall this is a place to definitely place on your list of places to check out.

We had so much fun this evening at the California Brandy House! We're probably not the prime clientele, given that we have never done formal tastings of alcohol of any kind and as Napa locals we don't approach downtown Napa as tourists, but Marissa made our experience so welcoming and fun that we vowed to get out more following this experience and we understand why people visit Napa for this kind of fun. Brandy is delicious and it was fun to learn about it while trying five different varieties produced by Gallo. Gallo is a big brand... no joke... but the staff at the California Brandy House made us feel like we were at a boutique establishment because they are genuinely passionate about the products they sell and the experience is warm and personal. As a cigar aficionada, I was delighted to purchase a bottle to take home and enjoy as company for an after-dinner cigar. Or maybe we'll just sip the brandy as it creates warm, positive feelings even when we're not enjoying cigars. Brandy is very nice. This location is on First Street in Napa so there is road noise when sitting in their adorably designed outdoor "parklet," but this works out well because we (as people who have been very careful during the pandemic) enjoy being outside and feeling safe and don't really care about noise. It was hilarious and awesome how Marissa incorporated the outdoor situation into her narrative as she explained the tasting flight. All in all, I highly recommend this experience to Napa visitors and locals alike.

Great experience in Napa! Wine flights everywhere in Napa (which I love) so to find this in downtown Napa was a nice surprise. It was great learning about the brandy we were drinking. The staff was so kind and knowledgeable. As someone that really never drinks brandy, I really enjoyed this!

Amazing! My friend and I stumbled in here by chance. Great tasting experience, great charcuterie plate, great conversation! $25/tasting and it is so worth it. I learned a lot about the history of brandy, how it is made, and various other facts. My friend ended up bringing a bottle home she liked it so much. A must visit in Napa Valley!

Juan at california brandy house is the man to talk to and see! Very friendly! Extremely knowledgeable and most importantly is so vibrant and passionate about what he does there. Thank you for making a very memorable and amazing experience while my friends and I were there! We look forward to seeing you and the California house of brandy again!

This is long overdue but what's great about this place is that you do learn a lot about brandy and get to sample some great craft spirits. However, little did we know know that none other than Damon Boelte would be serving us and sharing his insane knowledge of anything spirits. Since my visit, I have bought many bottles of Fernet, as well as enjoyed the saloon strength Brandy I picked up during my visit.

The staff was so warm and welcoming. No pretentious vibes. They were through in explaining the flight, engaging and made it fun and educational. The staff allowed us time to decide on our purchase and was not pushy or sales driven. I would absolutely return. Thanks for the great experience!!!

The California Brandy House is a wonderful addition to downtown Napa. You can't beat the location, and every detail from the curated tastings down to the decor is executed to perfection. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and Ben walked us through our delicious California flights with an approachable ease. Definitely stop by if you have the chance!!!

What a pleasant visit we had, Ryan our host is very knowledgeable, the tasting was amazing! Came with friends from out of town and they absolutely enjoyed the entire experience. Excited to have my own bottle of your famous CLAIM (really wanted my own gold nugget ).Thank you Ryan for taking such good care of us going above and beyond, and see you on our return.

This was such an amazing experience but was made perfect by our host John. We got to try five different brandy's produced by two different distilleries. John was full of information and made us feel at home while tasting. I would strongly recommend going to the California Brandy House to top off any wine country experience.

Excellent location and need for distilled spirits. I've been waiting with bated breath for this place to open and the time has finally arrived. Winter has come and it's time to cozy up to a warm brandy spirit with the closest one. Cheers to downtown progress upon this uncertain time.

I visited for the opening weekend and had an excellent time! The setup outside (due to covid) was clean and comfortable. I chose the California Brandy Flight so that I could taste a bit of everything. During the tasting, the staff was attentive and friendly. Don't be shy about asking questions - this team is incredibly knowledgeable. Overall, great visit and already looking forward to the next one!

I came to visit and Marissa was amazing!!! So informative and provided the best service!!! Loved how she was extremely knowledgeable about the brandy and provided us with the best service! Would definitely come back again! If you are interested in brandy definitely come give this place a try! My favorite was Germain-Robin!

If you're looking to celebrate any occasion come here for a spectacular time. We came to celebrate our grans birthday and she loved it. Great service and great staff they make you feel so welcome.
