"One of the largest science centers in the U.S., this museum offers always-free general admission (with extra fees for special exhibitions), and the big draw is the space shuttle Endeavour, which is off display until the new Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center opens—construction has been completed and exhibits are being installed, so sign up for the Science Center's newsletter for updates. In the meantime, visitors can watch an interactive interior tour of Endeavour and a time-lapse film of the shuttle being assembled or "stacked" over a period of six months. At the Science Center, you’ll also be able to see the Mercury-Redstone 2 capsule that carried Ham the chimpanzee into space in 1961, the Gemini 11 capsule, and the Apollo-Soyuz Command Module from 1975. When the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center opens, it will be the only place in the world to see a complete space shuttle system with a flown orbiter mounted vertically in an authentic "ready-to-launch configuration." - Iona Brannon Iona Brannon Iona Brannon is a journalist with a love for food and travel. "Designed to inspire kids, the Science Center emphasizes hands-on, interactive exhibits like 'World of Life,' 'Fire! Science & Safety,' and 'Wave Physics'; while the Space Shuttle Endeavour is off-view for construction of a new Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center wing, visitors can still enjoy rotating special presentations (e.g., 'Goosebumps! The Science of Fear') and an IMAX theater that showcases large-format films." - Maxwell Williams

"A hands-on science center ideal for families and space enthusiasts, where admission to the permanent galleries is always free; offerings include a motion simulator, real aircraft displays, hands-on exhibits, and an IMAX theater designed to stimulate curiosity." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Does your dream night entail getting kind of drunk while walking around a science museum? If so, snag tickets to Brewsology Beer Fest. The one-night-only event is being held on Saturday, November 13th at the California Science Center from 7-11pm. There will be close to 50 different brewers present and guests will have special access to museum exhibits and science demonstrations. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation
