Happily surprised by how nice this hotel was - it was truly an excellent stay! The front desk staff person was kind and professional. The room was quite spacious for being in Center City, with nice furnishings and thoughtful touches. It was impeccably clean; there were plenty of outlets, the A/C worked quite well, and the bathroom was also very roomy. We got a room on the 14th floor, with a great view. I got a great night's sleep, due to the comfortable bed and quiet surroundings. This was the nicest Choice hotel I've stayed at, and would definitely recommend staying here.

This post is merely about the value you get for your money. We did not feel that the price we paid, over $450, matched the experience we got. A few minor touches would definitely improve this property, like fixing the revolving front door so you didn’t have to push your way in. Putting a staff member there at the entry to greet and help would also be nice. All employees that were there did not seem interested in providing any customer service. The room was large, but I will say it was awkward. A lot of empty space, not enough lights, and no nice amenities that you would expect from a hotel, charging this rate. Things like robes, slippers, toiletries. The ventilation system was loud, every time I turned on you were awake from your sleep. Noise from the street was also evident, we were on the fifth floor and heard each car and siren they went by. Our flight was canceled, so we chose to stay at the Cambria because of its location. That part did not disappoint, easy walking throughout all of the historic areas, and located just down the street from the City Hall. Front desk staff was very helpful, so thank you. Overall, I would not stay here again nor would recommend it.

The gentleman at the front desk when we checked in was very welcoming and pleasant. Our room was OK. It was set up in a very awkward style. Very poor lighting in the room and bathroom mirror. We had to deal with flies and mosquitos but that was certainly not the hotel's fault. The price of breakfast in the restaurant is absurd. Strongly recommend you bypass the $18 eggs and just find a local breakfast joint (there are plenty in the area). The location is great for tourists and business people.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Do you know that when you walk in, you start to feel surprised by every little thing? First, the lobby, then the reception waiting area, the restaurant, and then you enter the room. It's that HUGE room, super comfortable, with a large bathroom and plenty of space to store clothes. In short, it's impeccable! The service: SPECTACULAR. From the valet parking guys at the entrance, reception, and maids, everyone was very friendly and smiling, always willing to help. We arrived on a super early flight, they left the room ready and free for us to go in early, and they gave our baby a children's book. In short, treats that give a lesson to big chain hotels in terms of customer experience. My only disappointment is not being able to stay longer in the city to enjoy more and make the most of the hotel.

We had a really awesome experience at the Hotel Philly. Linda, who took care of our check-in, went above and beyond to just make us feel comfortable, and to find a suitable accommodation for us. Needless to say, we are still very grateful/appreciative and beyond baffled at what she was able to do to help us. Thank you, Linda! You came through. That initial experience definitely set the tone for the rest of our trip. The hotel itself is clean, and conveniently located. We were within walking distance to most of the activities on our list. Would recommend.

This was a beautiful hotel and the front desk staff was very inviting and hospitable. The room was beyond what I expected and the pictures online do not do this place justice. The rooms gave mini apartment vibes just without the kitchen. The rooftop gave me romance vibes and I was so happy that my partner surprised me with this trip. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to anyone who plans on visiting Philadelphia and its location is right in walking distance of every restaurant, bar or tourist attraction. I’ve been to Philly many times and this hotel ranks amongst my top three favorite hotels when traveling. Will be returning soon, until then, so long Philadelphia and thank you Cambria for your hospitality.

Google
Really well located and central. Only negative about location (not hotels fault), was we were constantly being approached by people asking for money on Broad Street. Unlike New York, there seemed a lack of police/security outside and so after the first night (where we were really uncomfortable) we decided to get in before dark for remainder of stay. The room was spotless and refreshed daily. Lovely coffee and great city views too! Staff were lovely on the door and in the lobby. Air con was good and thankfully not too noisy. A couple of slight negatives on hotel - 1. We had hoped to enjoy the rooftop bar but sadly it was closed for a private event the night we arrived and on second night we couldn’t get up there it was so busy with youngsters having a great time. 2. The lifts are painfully slow and seemingly not due to being busy so don’t book an Uber and assume you’ll be out of the front door in 10 minutes from your room!

The location of the Cambria is great. It is near Philly's major performance art venues, city hall, and downtown attractions. It is also within walking distance or a very short ride to Independence Hall, the Constitution Center, the Museum of the American Revolution and other attractions located around the Liberty Bell. ||The rooms are spacious and reasonably appointed. Some rooms also offer good views of Broad Street and the Arts District. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Montana at the front desk was especially gracious in helping us check in. The only blemish during our stay had to do with housekeeping issues...most likely due to staff shortages. Overall, however, this was a good homebase during our week in Philly.

Yelp
Location is ok but the room and common areas were dirty. Not family friendly/safe feeling.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place fell extremely short. The staff were unprofessional, making advances at me multiple times throughout my stay. The sheets in my room were dirty and stained. The toilet ran all night long. My calls and inquiries for new bedding and maintenance went unanswered. I was forced to lay towels down on the bed due to the dirty bedding. Management (Steven Tyson) only reached out to me after I completed the online survey and even that was a hollow apology. I was not offered a refund or any other form of compensation. Terrible service. There are plenty of better hotels in the area.

Yelp
It was a very busy hotel . The amenities were nice with a good patio and nice location. The room was just ok- the bed was in the middle of the room and it was noisy. It was clean, but felt old. Coffee maker didn't work. Will look for different hotel when I go back

Yelp
This has been, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences of my entire life. From the moment I walked into this hotel, I had to wait 30-45 minutes just to check in. The hotel is disgustingly unclean, and despite all the bad reviews, I had no choice but to stay there due to a last-minute trip. The customer service is absolutely horrendous. To make matters worse, they accidentally charged nearly $1,700 to my card, which caused me to be late on my rent. There is zero accountability. No one is ever available to speak with when you call. I had to call customer service more than 10 times before they "accidentally" gave me the manager's contact information, but I've yet to hear from them. It literally took 45 minutes to get clean towels, which is unacceptable. This entire experience has been a nightmare, and I sincerely hope no one else is treated this way when they decide to stay here.

Yelp
Please read all review before booking!! My experience was far from satisfactory. I arrived around 10 p.m. after a long day at a convention, eager to get some rest. However, upon checking in, the front desk staff, Steven, assigned me a room that was already occupied by other guests. When I returned to the front desk, Steven immediately apologized, which made me wonder if he was somehow aware that I had entered an occupied room. He claimed he didn't realize there were guests in the room, but it raised questions about how he was able to see that I walked in yet couldn't determine the room's occupancy in their system. This incident left me feeling uneasy, as it suggests a lack of accuracy and reliability in their reservation management, and I couldn't help but wonder about privacy and security concerns. Is there a camera in the room corridors? And if so, why isn't that information more effectively communicated for guest safety? This experience has certainly made me wary, and I would advise other travelers to lock their doors and exercise caution. If you're okay with potential surprises or strangers having access to your room, this might be the place for you. As for me, I've stayed at numerous hotels, and I've never encountered an issue like this. This was an unsettling experience that Cambria needs to address seriously for the safety and privacy of their guests.

Yelp
We stayed here as a friends wedding was around the corner at The Lucy. The hotel itself is very nice and well decorated. I also really like the vibe of it. They have beautiful staircase that leads to the lobby. The lobby itself has a gorgeous fireplace and comfortable seating. The rooms are comfortable and big. The bed was also very comfortable. I was disappointed by 2 things in this hotel: The staff/service & the cleanliness. Staff/Service: Everyone always looked annoyed in general. I only dealt with the staff while checking in. We were the only ones there and she was checking her phone and barely acknowledged us. She also just looked annoyed that she even had to help us and I didn't understand the behavior especially for what we're paying. We also weren't making any demands, we were simply just checking in so it made no sense. The hotel did not have our room type ready so they did at least comp us and let us check out late, 1pm. The issue, no one communicates and someone walked into our room without even knocking at 11:30 in the morning the day of check out. This is definitely not something I expect at any hotel. Cleanliness: Our bedroom was fairly clean, no issues. However, our bathroom had hair on the shower walls and even when we had housekeeping come again, the hair was STILL there. When we sat in the lobby, the carpet was stained and there was some trash on the drum tables. We got to the lobby pretty early in the morning so it couldn't even have been previous people sitting there who created the mess. Location: It's pretty central to many things and public transport is right outside the hotel so that makes getting around without a car easy. Parking: Overnight parking at the hotel is very expensive. There is a garage across the street that's $10 cheaper and around the corner there is a garage that's $20 cheaper. Both garages were so close I definitely think it's not necessary to park at the hotel. If you found this helpful follow us on Instagram: @TheShahLALand

Yelp
I'm going to be perfectly honest when I say I'm over hotels no longer offering housekeeping. If you're not going to clean my room then at least have the decency to have it be presentable for when I check in. The Cambria misses the mark on so many levels. There's a questionable spot by the bed on the floor that I'm hoping is not someone's bodily fluids. There's a hole in the bath towel. There's a stain on the headboard. There's a stain in the toilet. You get the idea. The location is great but that's about where it ends. My husband and I stayed here for the Philly half weekend and although the lobby is nice the rooms are seriously lacking upkeep. Did I mention the spotty Wi-Fi? I expect better from a hotel if this price range. Oh, and the coin laundry is $5.75 to wash. No change available at the front desk. The front desk staff was super helpful and directed me to a coin laundry.

Yelp
The hotel lobby is on the second floor, there was a long queue for check in due to understaffing issues. Got in to a icy cold room and had to turn the heat up. Attempted to hop in the shower but the shampoo and the bath soap was none existent. The housekeeper did not restock the soaps. I also had problems getting the sink to drain, the toilet seat wasn't positioned right and was lopsided. I also believe the staff did not put clean towels since there were so many stains on most of them. They did not change the bed sheets either because there were multiple strands of different colored hair on the sheets when I pulled off the cover. Overall the cleanliness of the hotel is 1/10, the wait to get checked in is 2/10, and the amenities here are 2/10. It's a great location to be in the city but I wouldn't really recommend staying here. I also stayed on a weekend, there's a club bar upstairs near the top floor and I can hear the music blaring outside my room.

Yelp
We stayed 1 night, passing through, to see the sites. There is a beautiful view of the city hall at the end of the street. We pulled up and had to go inside to get a valet. ($66 per night, btw.) Gathering our things, a gentleman asked if we were checking in, showed us to the automatic, rotating door, and brought us to the lobby on the 2nd floor to check in. There seemed to be some chaos at the desk. The person checking us in was helping the next person before finishing with the first. She also did this when we checked out. She would tell the person she was helping to wait and then take the next person. Its didn't make sense and came off as rude. She didnt tell us we had to scan our room card on the elevator. Thankfully, a kind employee on the 3rd floor (we couldn't get above the 3rd floor) told us to scan our card. Finally getting to our room, it was clean and cool. A king bed which was pretty comfy, a bench along a window, and a desk/kitchen area. Everything we needed. The view wasn't great, but we didnt expect much. The bathroom had bluetooth speakers for the shower. The shower, however, did not have a door or curtain. There was half a glass wall. It seemed enough, but upon showering, half the bathroom got soaked. Towels had to be left along the opening of the shower. The hotel is located close to the theaters and plenty of restaurants. Only about a half mile walk to Magic Gardens and Independence Hall. There is an awful stench around the street outside. We thought maybe its was just the construction around the corner, but it seemed to be everywhere we went! Its was quiet enough. There is a restaurant on the lobby level. There is also a rooftop bar, whoch must also be a nightclub on the weekends. Friday night there was a line and bouncer at one elevator, checking IDs. Upon checkout, texting the valet for our car did not work. When we left we had to wait a bit for our car. The valets were very helpful, otherwise.

Yelp
It was a spacious room, and the front desk reps were great, especially the gentleman from the overnight. However, they didn't leave us with much toiletries... I had to call them for them, and even then, they had us waiting for at least half an hour. The checkout process was smooth.

Yelp
We enjoyed two nights at Cambria hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They let us check in early and they held our bags for us after checking out. They gave us recommendations for things and places to go to in the area. Good location right in the middle of center city, with a beautiful view of the town hall.

Yelp
We stayed at the Cambria one night while visiting Philadelphia. It is right downtown and only a couple of blocks from city hall and about a half mile walk from independence hall, liberty bell, and reading Terminal market. There is valet available if you are driving we utilized all the public transportation throughout the city. The hotel has plenty of amenities including a lobby bar, rooftop bar, and a full gym. The gym had plenty of weight machines and free weights as well. You do have to scan your card at the elevator. The room was decent and the bathroom mirror had Bluetooth so you could connect your phone while you are getting ready. The lobby was very nice and we didn't have any issues checking in and out. A recommendation from me due to the proximity of where everything is at and the device that we got.

Yelp
This hotel has a great location in Center City. Plenty of parking garages around so you can avoid the $64 a night rate the hotel gets you for. The check in process was a bit delayed and it felt like everyone was lumped on top of each other. Just seemed so disorganized. Also, housekeeping could pay a bit more attention to detail, just some minor things but I expected more. All in all a great stay, would stay here again, $166 includes taxes and fees through booking dot com.

Yelp
One of the worst hotels I've been to and unhelpful staff and management just doesn't care at all to assist even after a huge mistake. My brother had his wedding block here. Terrible idea. I highly recommend you do NOT do that and just go to double tree right down the street. I made a reservation for two rooms that were connected. I have my two young children who were in the wedding staying with my wife and me. At the time of the reservations months ago I was told no problem. I called a month before the wedding to confirm the request. And the day of the wedding I get there early and try to do early check in at first the response was we don't have any adjourning rooms right now but we'll make sure to do it by the check in time of 4pm. Then I get the call my rooms are available and I'm now speaking to a different front desk manager and was told the rooms are not adjourning and there is nothing that can be done. At that point the wedding is starting within the hour so I put up a mild fight but just didn't have the time or options to handle this. What really caused the straw to break the camels back is when the front desk manager, I believe his name is Steven just completely blew me off for what in my mind is a simple request. My children were upstairs in one of the rooms with a baby sitter. We ordered door dash for them because this pathetic hotel didn't have room service. Keep in mind this is 6:30 pm. How is there no freaking room service. Anyways we got the door dash which arrived. But you need a room key to go up to the rooms understandably due to security. And this joke of a manager almost enjoying not being helpful and not caring at all. We simply asked for Steven or one of his employees a maid, anyone to just bring the food up to the room since we told the babysitter not to leave the children. Bottom line they did not help and had no decency to alleviate a problem caused by them. If I knew my rooms were not going to be adjourning I would have never stayed here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! One last point, there elevators are horrible and taking forever.

Yelp
We checked in and the room wasn't ready so they supposedly gave us an upgrade with a view. The view was of the parking lot with some tall buildings behind the parking lot. We were three in the room and we only had towels for two guests. One of the beds had no sheet. My sister went down to inform them and they gave her sheets at )200 a night she had to fix her own bed. Horrible there isn't any quality anymore. The consumer just has their money stolen from them. Awful will never use this hotel again. Very poor customer service. I had to give one star to post but it should be zero stars.

Yelp
We returned to Philadelphia this week and once again chose Cambria for our stay. We were assisted during check-in by a gentleman named Steven, who was friendly, welcoming, and helpful in every way. He gave us a wonderful room that made the birthday we were celebrating extra special. The location on Broad St. is perfect. It's within a short walking distance to all the great shopping and dining of Center City. We also like the spacious rooms and amenities. We're grateful for another excellent stay at Cambria. Thank you Steven, and Cambria Philadelphia Center City!

Yelp
The hotel was subpar, and that is putting it kindly. The staff was not helpful, rude at times. Was there for my sister's wedding part of room block. Some rooms were not ready on time, including the bridal suite (which was promised to be ready first). Another one of our suites, had the AC broken and took multiple phone calls to be addressed and even then was never fixed. One room had smell of cigarettes, which were told by manager that was not the case. Being part of the wedding party, the house staff prepared the wrong suite for the bride and groom (how hard is it to figure out which suite it was)!! The staff did not/forgot/overlooked handing out over 20 welcome bags to wedding guests! Staff barely answered phone, The manager (Steven Tyson), seeing the issues, with condition of rooms and not able to accommodate simple requests from the bride and groom for a 40 room block, did not even offer a $5 voucher, for any inconvenience! Overall, the low score/star of 1 does not even do it justice, should be able to give this hotel, staff and manager a negative 5 (-5) at best, would never recommend any one to stay here, ever!

Michael W.

Yelp
This was the first and only time I would ever stay at the Cambria. I had booked through a 3rd party website for a wedding; I was told that the king bed is not guaranteed through a 3rd party and was given 2 full beds. Not what I had paid for and booked. It does not say this anywhere that it's not guaranteed. I asked them to show me this in writing and they could not. My room did not have many amenities, there were no ice bucket or glasses, I requested them not only once but twice and never received them. My recommendation is NOT to stay there. Even after speaking with the staff, you get no satisfaction. They gave me a phone number to leave for the manager and his voicemail was full, so I could not leave a message. NOT HAPPY at all. It's a shame that a hotel would have this poor of service. Michael Wisniewski

Yelp
We enjoyed our 1st weekend at Philly at this hotel! On the strip of the Arts area it was nearby a lot of great restaurants, the Reading Terminal and more. We stayed in the corner room with had beautiful views and was VERY spacious. The heat took a long time to warm up, floors were still cold, and bathroom but overall a wonderful stay-just bring slippers if you don't like cold floors! The shower is huge but doesn't have a door to trap the warm of the water in so you'll feel the coldness from out of the showers which is uncomfortable for some. Room had a Keurig, pods, and all you need to make some coffee and grab some ice. A mini fridge below which is great to store any leftovers, drinks, you name it. Dining table great for takeout especially during these times where some restaurants aren't dining in yet or if you don't feel comfortable dining in yet. Bed and overall room was super comfy and spacious. We had a great stay and look forward to coming back one day!

Carlos T.

Yelp
I had a room with no hot water, but was able to change rooms the next day. Not very fun. The new room floors were dirty with visibly spilled coffee. Other than that, the place is acceptable/average.

Yelp
The good: The location is mighty convenient right in the heart of downtown Philadelphia. You're within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and sites to see. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Plus, the noise of the outside world was barely heard. The staff was nice and knowledgeable. The one who's checked us in gave us the name of a great place for cheesesteaks - that wasn't one of the famous ones everyone praises. Their mini store had some variety that was okay enough when looking for a snack. The bad: Valet parking for each night is $45. It is certainly not the worst deal I have come across (that's stil San Francisco at $65 a night), but it's still a bit steep. That's a minor quibble because it's expected in a big city, especially a touristy one like Philly. The website I found advertised daily breakfast. But when asked about this, the person behind the counter looked at me as if I had two heads. There was, attached to a hanger in the closet, a list of prices for laundry service. I had a question about it, so I asked the desk: again greeted by the look as if I had three heads. The prices in the mini store were astronomical. I know they mark things up, but it was out of hand. $6 for a frozen lean cuisine dinner is appalling. The only incident we encountered was a maid who tried to get in our room around 5:30 pm to clean because she mistakenly thought our room was empty. But that was taken care of easily enough and she was apologetic. I honestly didn't even get to see her face she backed out so quickly.

Yelp
I they had less than 1 star rating I would use that. The fire alarm was pulled at 3:30 in the morning which is not as much as an issue as the response from this hotel. After going down 7 flights of stairs in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt in 30-degree weather, while raining.... When we were let back in, I called down to the front desk for 2 reasons to make sure we were safe and to find out what happened. This call was answered by Joshua who said it was a false alarm and just hung up. I know poor joshua was dealing with a lot but that was pretty poor customer service. I called back and Josh decided to be even ruder by explaining how much he was dealing with which is how I know Joshua was dealing with a lot. When checking out I complained and was told to call Steven Tyson (I have called him 5 times no response no callback) I was also given Maurice Alfaro's number (I have called him 4 times no response no callback) this has been a week since this happened. Stay away from this hotel there is literally a double tree 1/2 block away that is nicer, and I am sure those managers would call their customers back.

E S.

Yelp
Nice for price. Very friendly staff, nice rooms, and great location on Broad - easy walking to tons of great stuff!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Disgusting that I called to book a room for a wedding and was specifically told they would honor the group rate and after my stay was charged a DIFFERENT rate. After trying to explain the situation I was told there was NOTHING that could be done. Completely unprofessional, poor customer service and I will never be staying with this hotel again.

Yelp
We loved our bartender so much.Ean was so attentive and took care of all of our needs. I'm not sure who the morning desk clerk was who took our picture before the half marathon but we really appreciate him!

Yelp
Stayed here three nights with my son while visiting the University of Pennsylvania. We chose this hotel due to $45 valet parking, however upon check-in found that the parking was now $64 overnight due to a new valet company within the last 30 days. All the workers from valet to security to front desk people were subpar in friendliness and helpfulness. Customer service skills badly needed. They seldom smile and do not go out of their way to make you feel comfortable at all. The downstairs entry is unkempt, the elevator has missing lettering on the walls which could easily be corrected because they are stick on letters. Our room was close to the elevator and we could hear everything in the halls when people got off the elevator, also the rooftop restaurant blares music very loudly which can be heard very clearly in your room. We parked one night at Cambria and the other two nights at the self park garage right across the street for only $32 a night!. Cambria charged me an additional two days parking and I'm in the process of disputing it with a credit card company now, stay away! The bedsheets do not fit the bed correctly and the thermostat was broken so you did not know what temperature you were setting. Cambria sends daily automated messages asking you how is your stay and if they could be of assistance, but when you respond to the messages there is no help and with the bad attitude of the hotel clerk, I didn't think it was worth it to complain about sheets and broken thermostat. Would not recommend and would never stay again. We could have paid a little more to stay in a nicer place since parking was a big factor of being here.

Yelp
What a sh*t show! In 52 years of life I have never had a worse experience at a hotel. Rooms were not available at 3pm check in time, staff was incredibly unhelpful in addition to being less than enthusiastic, the towels in the room smelled like mildew, and the room was dirty. I also did not get the room I paid for. But because I waited so long past check in time to get a room I just let it slide. For a hotel in the center city of one of this country's largest metro areas, this Cambria location was an huge disappointment at $225 a night. Avoid this place if you can.

Yelp
Loved this hotel a lot! Fancy looking lobby with a nice room. Amenities were great and loved how much gym equipment there were. Definitely check this place out

Yelp
I stayed in Philadelphia during the global pandemic part 1. When I had an extended weekend due to the Labor Day holiday I knew that I wanted to try and do something despite Covid-19, while keeping over-the-top travel off of the itinerary. So I decided to use my 4 days visit my old stomping ground of Philly for the first time in five months, catch up with some friends that I haven't seen in a while, and revisit what old favorites I could while trying some new spots. I also knew that crashing on the couch of my South Philly cousin would get old after a couple of days, so I took to Priceline to see what steal of a deal I could find for a couple of days and was instantly sold on the mystery one that brought me the Cambria for a couple of days. And during that time it went from being a complete mystery to being one of my better, comfortable, and cleaner hotel stays despite the uncertain pandemic going on. Given that it's Covid-19 times a number of the amenities were understandably limited, so I'll save speaking on things like their fitness center and rooftop lounge for another review. Since I had places to try and friends to catch up with I also didn't bother with trying their connected restaurants which were still open for at least outdoor dining and takeout at the time. But the main thing to talk about is the room which was beyond worth the discounted price of staying a couple of nights in! The king-size bed was extra comfortable, the room had plenty of places to lounge and charge my electronics on, the room was HUGE for a hotel one, and the walls were also funky artistic enough to match up with my style. The main event by far too was the large bathroom which had a Bluetooth mirror that you play your music off of, and a shower that could easily fit 3+ people (if that's what you're into). Quality service is a tough thing to gauge during pandemic times for understandable reasons. But the staff that I encountered and spoke with were friendly and helpful despite these weird times. And it was good to see things like hand sanitizer readily available on every floor and elevator that I was on. If I come across Cambria as an option for a discounted stay post-Covid-19 I'd absolutely jump on it. But I'd also consider a fully paid stay given the rooms, location right on the center of Broad Street, and plentiful amenities to enjoy and take advantage of on a non-pandemic day.

Yelp
Nice rooms, just had a rough weekend where Check-in was pushed back from 3pm, to 4pm, then actually got into the room at 5:30pm due to shortage of housekeeping, as well as had been booked for a weekend with two concerts and a wedding. Then the next AM, calling to get house keeping/the front desk also took a while. The place seems great, it's just the staffing issues that made it tough for the weekend. Though I'm noticing other similar comments made at different times of the year, so maybe it's not a one off issue? It's got potential though from the aesthetics.

Yelp
The stay at the Cambria started great, but went down hill quickly. Was in town for a convention, and this was the hotel I was assigned to be in. We were allowed to check in early and the room was clean, but nothing special. The thermostat was set a little high for my liking, but I was able to adjust it. We requested the room to be serviced daily, and notified them that the TV didn't work properly. It took 3-days, and 3 more times telling them about it to get the TV fixed. My friends in the adjoining room were missing glasses and it was a struggle to get them. There was no bottled water in the room. The room got serviced on Day 1, and not again on Day 2 or Day 3. When I saw the housekeeper in the hallway and said something to her directly she replied to me with an attitude. After speaking to the manager we did get fresh towels and the trash taken care of but it was still another day for the room to be serviced in full. We ran out of Body Wash and requested more, and it was not replaced. We had to ask 3-times for body wash. Our convention was unexpectedly called off short and when we checked out early (we were charged for the full stay, which I do understand) they refused to give us a receipt. I would definitely not stay at the Philadelphia Cambria and would be hesitant to stay at any Cambria or related hotel again.

Yelp
After a dragging two suitcases what seemed like mile from the train station and finding our hotel, I was bushwhacked. When we entered, a gentleman let us know the lobby is upstairs. Up the elevator we went and opened up into a very chic, modern and well appointed reception/lobby/bar area. Warmly greeted and welcomed, the check in process began. Everything was in order and the very kind manager offered us an upgrade to a corner suite. FTW, complimentary no less. Our room was on the 23rd floor and had a great view to a huge mural and the Outfest Festival down below. The room itself was lovely. We had a fridge, microwave, desk/work area and very comfy bed. The only thing we missed was more coffee which we call the front desk and had some delivered to us. During our stay, it was quiet and we didn't encounter any water pressure problems as some other guests have commented on. The wife loved the Bluetooth enabled mirror that she could sync with her phone to listen to music while getting ready to go out. Downstairs again, since we were starving, we grabbed a seat at the bar got a couple of drinks and nibbles. There is a balcony with table service and great people watching from above. Especially during the festival. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. The appetizer of Charcuterie (17) was decent, bread was a tad stale and when we requested if they had anything else like chips or something they happily provided them. The lobby area also has a little deli, snack shack like area. Excellent mid night munchies, sweets and such. The only item I would request is perhaps some cutlery in the room to use when you grab a bite to bring up to your room. We would absolutely return. The location is in the heart of the city within walking distance of many great restaurants and city sites. The staff were all polite and cheerful folks. Which is nice to see.

Yelp
Don't shoot the messenger (frontdesk) Yes they had a delay because they are understaffed in housekeeping. If you do not have an appointment or plans before 5:30 you are okay. Luckily, I had time on my hands. Docked a star for the wait. No other complaints. After the unusually long wait, you will get an icy cold room to cool off in. The view of the murals from my room was awesome. The bathroom and decor are modern. They have a fridge, microwave and lounger. I really liked the Front desk manager. You know he was sorry in many ways. There are lots of negative reviews about this wait. You can sit in the large lobby, have a complimentary coffee or water and watch TV. Or spend several hundred bucks more for one night across the street. I rather spend that money at a restaurant. This place is surrounded by many ethnic restaurants and steakhouses. You can walk! I went to the Mexican place 2 blocks away.

Yelp
We stayed here because we were going to a wedding next door. The location is amazing, you can literally walk to every attraction in Philadelphia. You are right in the thick of the action, there is amazing shopping right at your doorstep, theatre, musicals are literally right next door. The hotel is modern, and the rooms look decent. Where the hotel has a big deficit is in its cleanliness. If it upped its housekeeping, it would garner many more favorable reviews. Housekeeping did not really clean our room during the stay. One day, they forgot altogether. Hallway floor carpets have dirt on them, vacuuming needs to be more frequent. More fresh towels need to be dolled out in the rooms. This hotel needs to clean its premises a lot more often. It is not a cheap hotel due to its central location and modern look, but it will lose a lot of customers for the only reason that cleanliness needs to be improved. There is a lot of room for improvement in this regard.

Yelp
Very nice hotel in downtown Philly. Very close to everything! I love the Bluetooth bathroom mirrors. Very clean and the staff was superb! Love it!

Yelp
terrible service ! charged us twice without refund, not enough towels, not clean - please choose other hotel - we travel a lot, this was one of our worst ever.

Yelp
Please do not stay at this hotel EVER!!! Upon arrival we noticed the customer service was not great they were very unwelcoming. After checking into our rooms the hotel towels had obvious stains on them we requested better towels but to be honest they were all the same. My bed had dust on it and it clearly showed that the linens was not changed from the last guest. I was very afraid to sit or lay in the bed. I requested my bed be made up with fresh linens and was told I would have to pay 100.00 dollars extra for housekeeping to do that. In the second room that was booked we found a used child juice packet from the previous guest under the covers and also dirty sheets and pillowcases. We complained to the front desk and all we were met with was absolute rudeness and indifference to our complaints and concerns for our health in this hotel especially with covid still plaguing society. When we requested a manager we were told no managers is onsite so we cannot speak to anyone and I may add we were dismissed immediately by the front desk staff. Two nights of stay is definitely two night of hell. The hotel is a nice hotel with great location however the management NEEDS TO GO!!! They also need to purchase better quality hotel linens and a better company to wash the linens to remove stains. Clean towels, sheets etc all had some type of stains. It's very unsettling to use this hotel linens. I will never stay here again!!

Yelp
This hotel was in center city and a really great location close to the tourist sites in Philly. It was a short walk to places such as Reading Terminal Market and ride shares were all over the place, making it easy to find a ride. The rooms seemed a little bigger than a standard hotel room, and they were upgraded. Our standard room came with a mini fridge and microwave. The front desk and hospitality teams were very nice and accommodating. Enjoy the rooftop restaurant if you get a chance!

Yelp
While I had some key issues everyday, the 4 stars are because of the hotel bartender Kevin for giving us some great restaurant and bar recommendations and just being a true gem! And upon checkout, Louis did what would have been done days ago which was offer a discount for having to get keys redone everyday! These two made the stay and problems worth it!

Yelp
This was such a great hotel stay for our 2 day visit to Philly. Hotel has only been opened for a month and at check in they told us that and they obviously were still trying to get familiar with the issues of being a new hotel. That didn't bother us at all. Check in - slightly slow due to the hotel being new. But check in associate was very friendly and accommodating. We asked for a nice room and he gave us a corner room that was very big. That was a bonus. Room - very spacious and clean. Loved the curtains. They were super dark that blocked the sunlight allowing us to sleep in a bit. Loved that. The king size bed was very comfortable and I loved how they offered 6 pillows. They had a pretty comfortable chaise in the room as well. Bathroom - very nice and spacious and clean. Best part of the bathroom was the mirror with the Bluetooth speakers. I loved that. There was a microwave and refrigerator in our room along with a keurig coffee machine. There is no room service which we never use no matter what hotel we stay at so that was not an issue for us. When we flew into Philly it was late. We checked in at 11pm which the hotel's restaurant was already closed for the day. They told us WaWa was just next door practically. And it was so convenient to walk there to grab a few snacks and bottles of water. Overall my husband and I really enjoyed this hotel. If we ever get a chance to visit Philly again we would love to stay here again.

Yelp
"Holy Claustrophobia Batman!" This hotel I will admit is really nice and the location is freaking spot on! The hotel puts you walking distance from a lot of attractions from the Reading Terminal Market to Independence Hall. In the summer heat even the short 2-3 mile walk might feel like death but on a cool Spring or Fall day the walk could be pretty darn amazing as you stop to take photos of some of the historic buildings of Philly. I really liked this hotel and if I could get a night here again at a bargain I certainly would stay here again. They have evening entertainment even on a Thursday night that I visited which was really neat. The rooftop bar I felt was underwhelming, although a little crowded, so I opted for the bar near the reception desk that actually had a DJ the night during my visit so the in house lounge was definitely better than the rooftop bar. You even get nice open outdoor space on balcony by bar. Not the best view on the balcony but it's a nice open space to relax at with drink in hand. Rooms are really nice but also a tad on the small size but being from NYC they simply reminded me of the limited real estate space similar to NYC. So room size didn't really bother me but if you want a lot of space you'll be disappointed. The room fit the bed, dresser, basic appliances and then you had the bathroom which comes equipped with a shower (no tub so don't pack the bubble bath). Hotel has decent amenities including a small gym. Overall I think this is a really nice hotel and I most certainly would return. Parking is available across the street for about $30 compared to the hotel valet for about $50.

Yelp
I stayed 3 nights in May, 2023 for a wedding. Everything in the hotel was good (well the check in line took over 20 minutes since their computer went down) except the parking valet. The valet gentleman took our car keys and never moved the car from the front of the hotel parking (3 pm - 11 pm). Not only did I pay for parking that night at the hotel, I was also given a parking ticket from the City of Philadelphia since the attendant forgot which car my key fob went with and called the city to give me an illegal parking ticket. The valet person also said the car was getting ready to be towed. All the attendant had to do was press the key fob which was still on their counter after 8 hours to see which car it belonged. After much disputing with the City of Philadelphia and the valet service, I had to pay an additional fee of $101 for their error and the hotel's nightly parking fee ($70)!!

Yelp
Unfortunately this was one of my least enjoyable hotel experiences. The check in was extremely slow - we waited in line for over thirty minutes to check in. Fortunately our room was ready - our friends who arrived the night before waited until 7:45 pm for their room to be ready (check in time is at 3!). The rooms were clean with high ceilings, but I would not describe them as luxurious. Very thin towels and blankets. Our room smelled like marijuana. There is a rooftop bar which is probably very fun, but plays very loud thumping music until 2 am which could be heard very clearly in our room. Overall I wish I had paid the fifty extra dollars to take a room at a nicer place. This was clean but very bare bones and poor service.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this hotel! The entire staff was so friendly, welcoming and very helpful from the moment I checked in. They suggested restaurants and things to do and see. The rooms are modern with tile floor which I really like. It was very clean, spacious, comfortable bed and Bluetooth mirror which was a nice bonus. I did not eat at the restaurant or bar but it looked very clean and well kept. Overall I had a great stay here. The hotel is walking distance to everything in downtown; big attractions, restaurants, shopping, convention center and more. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Philadelphia.

Yelp
Lovely hotel bar! Kevin is one of the best bartenders I've interacted with. I hope the hotel is as wonderful - definitely try to stay here next visit.

Yelp
Hotel was in great location and lobby area was nice. Rooftop bar was also nice (need reservations to sit). However, room wasn't ready until about 5 pm when check-in was at 3. In the room, the shower door was loose, the grout in the shower reminded me of my freshman year in college in the dorms, dirty trash can etc. There's also not complimentary parking or breakfast which was also annoying after spending $250 on a room for the night. We parked behind the building and paid $34 for the overnight (valet at hotel is $35-$45. Overall, the hotel was fine but left a lot to be desired especially at its price point.

Yelp
Decided to go to Philadelphia for my birthday weekend. The Cambria has the best prices for the area we wanted to be in. Also seemed to have some really good reviews. Check in was smooth and easy, the girl checked us in under 10mins. I didn't take pictures unfortunately but the room was really nice, clean, great view and best of all had lots of towels and a mini fridge. Cambria is not to far from a lot of the tourist areas and best of all, all transit (Bus and Train) are literally on the same block. They have a bar area with an open balcony with some friends waiters, Kevin D. Was absolutely awesome. He told us about some really great places to eat and where to find the best Philly Cheese and some really good ice cream. THANK YOU KEVIN D. Would totally recommend this location every attendee was helpful and pleasant to talk too! Clean hotel, good service and in a good area. 5stars

Yelp
Many reviewers have noted that the staff has bad attitudes, and that was my experience too: the guy at the front desk was surly when we checked in and both times I called. I'm not knocking the hotel down on the ratings for it because I could hardly care less how the staff is as long as my room is nice -- and it really is! Spacious, comfortable, well-appointed; you could hardly ask for more. Location is excellent too. If you're looking for a nice hotel in the downtown area, within walking distance of excellent bars and restaurants, then look no further than the Cambria.
