Where to Find Family-Friendly Brewery Patios and Beer Gardens Around Boston

"This Kendall Square mainstay welcomes “well-behaved dogs and humans of all ages,” per brewmaster Will Meyers. It features a comfortable patio in the One Kendall Square complex, and there’s a full food menu of burgers, steak tips, beer-braised lamb shank, and more. Reserve a table here. Cambridge Brewing Company is currently offering indoor and outdoor seating, as well as takeout." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

12 Great Local Beers That Aren’t Hazy, Juicy New England IPAs

"Cambridge Brewing Company makes the best amber ale in the area, period. It exhibits the same toasty, caramel flavors typical of American ambers. Availability: Cambridge Amber is available on tap or via growler at Cambridge Brewing Company, which is currently offering table service indoors and on the (dog-friendly) patio as well as takeout." - Terrence Doyle

The Best Breweries In Boston

"Cambridge Brewing Company in Kendall Square is technically a brewery in that it, uh, brews beer. But this place is not really what you think of when you see the term “brewery” - it’s a restaurant, and one that frequently gets packed despite serving pretty standard pub food. The beer is pretty great, though. This is one of Boston’s oldest breweries, and it has a big selection as a result, including a few excellent beers, like their flagship Flower Child IPA and a great Russian stout. If you typically stay away from breweries because you only like to drink in places where you can also get buffalo chicken tenders, then this spots for you." - dan secatore

Amazing local brewery in Cambridge conveniently located close to Kendall Square. The local is modern and beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Great food is proposed with a large variety of homemade draft beers. Definitely a must go in the area!

If you're visiting the area there are lots of local breweries to find and it's worth putting this one on your list. Plenty of seating outside and in. The food options cover all bases, from appetisers to salads to burgers. It's a family friendly place too so if you're after more of an adult atmosphere then consider when you arrive.

I tried 5 of their beers and not a big fan. And the food menu wasnt impressive. The waiter didnt give an approximate response when I asked how long the pizza take since we were in a hurry. Calamari had yellow bell peppers mixed into it which was strange. Spinach artichoke pizza was too heavy.

Google
Friendly staff and very welcoming. They have some great beers. I got the flight and New Zealand IPA was very interesting. I am glad I stopped by here to try the beers. They have outside seating as well for bigger parties.

Stopped in for a break after visiting some colleges and thought it was an adorable brewery. The unique beers were awesome- I enjoyed the sweetheart at the rodeo. It was relatively quiet at around 4 pm on a Tuesday, but they had a nice patio space and plenty of seating. They allowed me to sample some before buying a pint which is always appreciated.

Google
A Standard Bearer I’ve been a patron for the better part of six years since moving to MA and working in Cambridge. A great haven to sample their brewing creativity, as well as satiate the appetite with an under-the-radar menu. CBC has sustained itself as a landing pad with unique brews, mouth-watering eats, and welcoming staff. First timers quickly become long timers. A Standard in Kendall Square.

We were a group of 8 people and we went to Cambridge Brewing Company for Wednesday evening. We started with the Nachos and Shishito Peppers. The appetizers were amazing. We loved it. After that we ordered food as the kitchen was closing. For the dinner we ordered Brussel Sprouts, Eggplant Chips, Greek Chicken Salad, Chicken Wings, Fish and Chips, Chicken Burger, Caesar Salad, Black Bean Burger, Salmon Burger. After the food we decided to order drinks. The drinks that we order varied from IPA, Cambridge Amber. We got our order quickly and the service was also fast. We loved our food and the time at the Brewery. I will recommend everyone to try it.

Google
This is place is really nice, is in a nice area and the host and waiters were nice. The only 2 not so great things were, we wanted to order beer flights and they didn’t have glasses available and the place was not that full of people, so that was disappointing nevertheless the beers we order were pretty good. The second thing was the food was not that great, a little bland you might say; we order eggplant fries and fish and chips and it was lacking flavor. The flourless chocolate cake was really good, so props to the dessert chef. We will be back, but for sure not to eat.

Yelp
One of the best breweries in Cambridge. Loved coming here for almost two decades. Enjoyed all the beer festivals they hosted. The bar and patio seating were perfect. Most of all, it was a great place to meet up and have a beer and food. You are missed CBC.

Yelp
Nice patio in the shade. Great casual stop for beer or small bites. I had a cup of clam chowder - not bad Convenient location in Kendall square. I recommend.

Yelp
I was told this place was shutting down in a week and had been open for 35 years. I went and had the Jimmy Paige which I didn't care for, it's ok at best. But then ended with The End and this beer is really outstanding. Like really outstanding. So glad I could drink this before the CBC closed down.

Yelp
Sad to hear that CBC will be closing for good on Dec 20th 2024. But at least there is time to enjoy a few more of their wonderful beers. "To our dear CBC friends and family, our time is coming to a close. Our last day of service will be Dec. 20th. But what a time it has been! We opened in 1989 with essentially 2 goals in mind. First, to spread the word on what local craft beer was and could be. From a humble start with a 3-beer line up we've expanded the possibilities of craft beer and the myriad styles available today. We were the first commercial brewery to produce a Belgian Style beer in this country and one of the first to embrace multiple yeast strains in-house and even to intentionally invite wild organisms into our brewery. The second goal was to be a community meeting place. A place where our guests could get a break from their hectic lives, gather with old friends, make new ones, and let us take care of them. Over our 35 years we have hosted millions of guests, witnessed joyous family gatherings, awkward first dates, college reunions, running and social clubs, raucous bar crowds and countless other occasions. It is this accomplishment we are most proud of. As we emerged from our early years, so too did additional goals. Providing a positive and supportive workplace, encouraging skills growth, mutual respect and friendship. Developing relationships with local food suppliers to promote their growth and a more sustainable, seasonally driven food sensibility. Trying to lower our impact on the environment through energy efficiency, food composting, recycling and sending our spent brewing grain to dairy farms. And trying to be a good community stakeholder by contributing to countless nonprofit organizations focusing on early childhood education, food insecurity, LGBTQ+ rights, health care and the arts. A heartfelt thank you to all who have participated in our dream. To our customers that have joined us time and again over the years, your support and friendship enabled our success. To all that are working or have worked here, you guys are what made this place so great. What an honor and a joy it has been to work alongside you! So please join us often over the next 4 months! We still have Patio Season, Festbier, Fall Menu and more coming. 35 years, one hell of a run. Much love, Team CBC"

Yelp
Visiting from Texas. The service was phenomenal especially for being packed to the brim. The food was delicious, I recommend the fish and chips. For non-vegans and for vegans they actual have a few selections. The vibe is very pub like and it was packed to the walls there night I went. There are pool tables and tvs. It's best to just chill out and enjoy your beer.

Yelp
Dive-y bar nestled in a little pocket corner in Alexandria square off of the outskirts of Kendall. Haven't been here in years, since before pandemic started and while I had fond memories of the place back then, it feels like it's taken a small hit in quality and the menu seems to have shrunk more than half of what they used to offer. We were able to get a table for 2 quickly on a Friday evening and had the option to eat outside but preferred indoor seats instead. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We both got a beer each one saison and a Pilsner, both fantastic, a plate of nachos to share, a burger and the kimchi fried chicken sandwich. The nachos were a little underwhelming, probably half the size it used to be. The burgers were good but a little overpriced for the amount you get. tldr; great place to chill and vibe. Very dive-y. If you remember this place from before the pandemic it's worth visiting for old times sake, but the food and drinks overall are mediocre.

Yelp
Well curated New England and British quaff. The staff was great and the baseball on the tube made for a couple of great pints. Really liked the EPA on nitro!

Yelp
Overall good beer and food. Was pretty empty when we went mid afternoon on a Saturday. We also got the fig and Brie pizza.

Yelp
I've been to CBC a handful of times and I've generally had positive experiences there. This time, I went on a Tuesday with a big group and the place was surprisingly pretty busy. It was definitely a big after work crowd, so it didn't get too rowdy. I found the service to be a bit slower than usual, but that made sense given the number of people. After a while, I ended up going up to the bar to grab a refill on my water. The menu is decent - they have a bunch of basic salad, sandwich, and pizza options, but some of them have a fun twist. The real reason to come is for the beer. They had some interesting offerings like the pumpkin ale. Sadly I'm not a big beer fan, but my friends spoke highly of their drinks. Overall, the ambiance is nice and it's a fun spot to meet up with coworkers or friends!

Yelp
Came here with coworkers for happy hour. We ordered some appetizers - calamari, eggplant fries, fries, and nachos. My favorite was the eggplant fries even though they were on the soggy side. I got a downeast cider donut and it was pretty good. It's on the sweeter side and you couldn't even tell it was a hard cider.

Yelp
It's been 30 years since I was here last. I am glad to see that there still place for them in this mixed up world. I guess when you pump out a handful of delicious beer and tasty food even the finicky folk will still return. Thanks for being around for beer loving fools.

Yelp
We came here for dinner and... I would not come back for the food. The beer was decent, though. We tried one of their beer flights ($12) which came with four beers. We tried a wide variety that included a stout, IPA, sour, and lager. All of them were fun to try. I got the smashed patty double burger ($16). There was a LOT of meat in it, so this could be a good choice if you're craving a lot of meat or are looking to eat more protein. However, the patties were severely underseasoned so the entire burger was bland. I wasn't a fan of the bun, which was dry and tasteless. The pickles and onion didn't really help the burger that much because the meat was so bland. The fries on the side were just okay in my opinion. They weren't super crispy but were pleasantly fluffy on the inside. I got to try a little of their beer-battered fish and chips ($18). The fish tasted like it was fried in old oil and the batter needed more seasoning. The food portions here are big but not worth it in my opinion.

Yelp
Went here as a large group after work. Got a bunch of appetizers and beers. We initially went with three appetizers that our server recommended - CBC nachos, buffalo chicken tenders and eggplant fries. All three dishes were pretty good. The eggplant fries were golden crispy and very tasty, haven't really had those before, but also very deep-fried :). Nachos were good. Crispy chips topped with beans, cheese, salsa, sour cream and green onions. The buffalo chicken tenders were really good - really very tender! I liked those a lot. As the evening went on and more people joined the group we ordered a few more plates of the same appetizers. Also ordered a plate of Rhode Island Calamari and fried brussels sprouts. The calamari came with a lemon fennel aioli sauce which was very interesting and I thought a great unique flavor combination. Went well together. This place definitely seems popular and glad they have stayed open. Wouldn't mind returning and trying some of the other dishes on the menu. Has a nice warm ambiance. Large mural on the wall, see photo and extra points if you can spot grumpy cat :).

Yelp
I came here with colleagues for farewell party. I had Vienna style bear and miso salmon over brown rice. Also we shared nacho with others. I really liked both beer and salmon. I was really impressed by salmon especially---it was unexpected considering it is brewing place. The service was very good, too.

Yelp
Cambridge Brewing has always been a go to when in Kendall for business and has typically been good. Not today. My colleagues and I stopped in after a meeting and were greeted and sat at a table right away - everything seemed great and up to usual standards. The burger that I ordered was dry, tasteless, and horribly over cooked. I left it in plain display on my plate and was never asked if it was satisfactory. With all the other options of great food in Cambridge do your taste buds a favor and pick anything else.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't come here if you're trying to kill time and just want a single 4 ounce pour. They'll force you to order a pint or a flight. What a waste of my money.

Yelp
We had a great time this past weekend at CBC. We went for Mother's Day lunch and they had a special brunch menu which was great! My only grip is that they don't always have it. I got the breakfast burrito and tots which were great! Also tried the corn muffin which I loved. My husband got the chicken piccata which I tried and was great too. My dad loved his meal so much he is now mad I haven't taken him here sooner lol. I was surprised that they don't have something to serve the beer flights on. Def recommend getting something the mini glasses fit in instead of serving them individually. But over all great experience. Also, the patio is dog friendly which had a great ambiance. Loved it!

Yelp
Went here with a friend on a weekday after work and it was VERY empty (as were the rest of the restaurants on the square). I got a pizza ($16) with butternut squash, goat cheese, and pear. The pizza was made well and all, but I wasn't really impressed with the flavors on it. It was mostly bland and not super flavorful - overall average. I also got a sour beer that was tasty. Service was quick with no issues.

Yelp
Great local spot! Food was delicious and love that this place is dog friendly. I got wine (not a big beer drinker) and it was pretty good! Only knocked a star off because service was very slow.

Yelp
The best brewery in MA!! The food is incredible! World class beer brewed in house with great local twists. Our server was fast informative and kind! 10/10 will be back! The patio is to die for! bring your fur baby

Yelp
One of my go-tos in Cambridge! This was my first time going for brunch and I had such a good time. The mimosas were made with freshly squeezed orange juice and the tater tots were delicious. I got the eggs Benedict but I subbed avocado for the ham, loved it!

Yelp
I came in a group of 12 on a weekend morning. Luckily it wasn't too busy, so we didn't have trouble getting seated. I ordered the CBC burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger was yummy, but nothing super special. The patty was a nice pink in the center (I ordered medium rare), and the vegetables tasted fresh. The sweet potato fries were SO ADDICTING and delicious! The service was quick and efficient, especially given our huge party size. Overall, I had a good experience here. If I came back, I'd try to order something different.

S. E.

Yelp
Food was average at best. Burgers were mainly ordered by our table and they were on the smaller side and not worth wanting more. A few got steak tips. Again small portion size. They said the steak tips were ok. We sat outside and the ambience on a nice day is cool. I think they need to step up their food game. Burgers are a staple that should be fairly easy to do well. I'd go back for a beer or 2, but probably not for food.
google avatar

Yelp
Was visiting Boston and found this place. Apps were great - the Brussels sprouts was the standout hit. Eggplant fries were light and crispy. The shishito peppers were deliciously charred. The mains were mostly ok. The Pickle brined spicy fried Chicken was a little dry but still a bit oily, Mac and cheese was just ok. The seafood Beer selection was plentiful - they offer choose-your-own flights to get a nice sample. But maybe the most important thing - they allow you to have your dog if you sit outside. Thanks for giving us a great way to unwind after a long day walking around the city with our pooch!

Yelp
I came to Cambridge Brewing Company on a weekday when it was SUPER busy. There were tons of people standing around near the bar drinking and socializing, and it was so noisy I couldn't hear what my friend was saying from across the table. The servers were all great, and the food came quickly though. I got calamari and the pickle brined fried chicken sandwich, it was pretty good. The chicken wasn't that spicy, and it was a good sandwich overall. The calamari was just average.
google avatar

Todd O.

Yelp
Overall decent place. Food was pretty good and the server we had was awesome when he was there. Very engaging and jovial but visits to the table were infrequent at best. Beer is good, we wanted to have a 2nd round but couldn't get assistance to order another, as the staff was in the back joking and having a good time with themselves.
google avatar

Dave V.

Yelp
We did outdoor seating, which had space heaters which was a plus The waitress was friendly and nice We got flights and tried 4 drinks out of their beer selection. Personally I liked the Cambridge amber and their porter the most. To go along with it we got nachos for the table. The portion size was very generous and came with a lot of toppings. I got full off those nachos and didnt eat dinner that day. I will probably go back once patio season rolls around again.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of having Ashley as a server. She was a delight. She consistently came over to check on us. She recommended some great beer selections and had the best attitude. I like how everyone helps around here. Table never overly crowded. Oh there's a Male server here that kept reminding me of Freddy Mercury with I absolutely loved. I couldn't stop looking at him. I'm such a creep. The food here is pretty good, wish they had sandwich pickles but the burgers are nice and big. I went for trivia night. Have to say this was the least fun trivia has ever been for me. She spoke low, there was no music she was kind of dull. I wont be going back for trivia but def will for more beer tasting. The porter was my favorite.

Yelp
CBC is my first brewery in Cambridge and it did not disappoint! I brought some avid beer drinking and brewery enthusiast friends here and we all left pretty darn happy and not just because the tipsy waves were starting! Between the three of us we decided to get 2 flights and one pint to share. We all love flights and trying the various selections the brewery has. The Smoke on the Charles was my favorite, followed by the Hefeweizen, House Lager, and Grateful Bread. Unfortunately, none of us were fans of the Tall Tale Pale Ale. Which is strange for all of us to be on the same page in a negative way toward a beer. But, all tastes are subjective so it's probably someone else's favorite! CBC is a really large place with plenty of seating both at the bar, tables, and patio. They have food, which looked good but we didn't eat while there. Lot s of merchandise and overall vibe is relaxed and chill.
google avatar

Greg W.

Yelp
Go for the Beer... stay for the 'runch! We have only eaten here once, but it was during the weekend and their "Beer-unch" which was fantastic. The breakfast tacos were fresh and served with a side of skillet beans and tots. Obviously not the lightest of fares, but it was delicious and probably the amount of calories that I needed for breakfast AND lunch. My wife had a wrap or salad that was pretty standard on every menu and I wanted something a bit more adventurous and unique to the CBC. The beers are great, we sampled a few since it was not overly busy and there is something for every taste and preference. They even offer pairings with each of the dishes on the menu so you can see what beer supposedly works best with the various fares offered on their menu which is a nice touch for the adventurous. We sat on the patio and it was a bit chilly but the setup was nice and the servers were very attentive, prompt, and pleasant to deal with. We cannot wait to get back to the patio when warmer weather hits as it looks like it would be a blast! Pros - delicious food, great variety of beer, super cool servers Cons - Food can be a little heavy, patio can get a little chilly (shadows/shade) The above are all MINOR gripes and should not dissuade you from visiting this fine establishment. However, I guess if you are going to a brew pub and expect to have super healthy food with your liquid calories you may want to consider other places, but we haven't found any locations here that match that requirement. However, the food you will get here will be comforting, delicious, and delivered with a smile - which is what it is all about anyways, right?

Yelp
Always hit this place when in Cambridge. It's like home. Had to give it another shout out for their Unique menu item, Banryu Ichi, Sake/Beer Hybrid. Was pleasantly surprised. Had a nice light fruity seltzer feel, very refreshing, with hints of sake and fruit. The server told me the process they use, which sounded like a brewing chemist's dream. Amazing stuff from this place each time I visit. Just wish they had the Banryu Ichi to go in bottles or growlers. Maybe next time.
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
Good beers, Calamari with artichokes are a pass, service was friendly and informative but the place was not well advertised even for a local. Hard to locate behind the Smoke House. But overall a cool place to have a beverage.
google avatar

Nikita S.

Yelp
Had a good experience here on a recent Saturday. I came with three friends for brunch, we had a reservation and were seated pretty rapidly. There were lots of available tables though, so I'm not sure we really needed a reservation. The menus are all viewed using QR codes, which to be pretty typical during Covid times. I had a breakfast burrito which had a great mix of eggs, black beans, and toppings. It was nothing special, but I would order it again if I came back. The service was pretty typical for Covid - the wait staff checked in on us periodically, maybe less then expected, but we were never left wanting something. One thing to note is that their outdoor dining is pretty much a sealed tent - one end is open for the entrance, and there are a little gaps where the wind might come through, but it felt closer to indoor dining than true outdoor dining. This could be good for some in the cold or rain, but maybe not if you're trying to avoid indoor dining.
google avatar

Mary Z.

Yelp
Nice large partially covered patio, amazing and unique beer (I had the fruity IPA, possibly seasonal), and the best bar pizza I've ever had. We got the pepperoni mushroom which is basic but was perfectly executed. Would go back in a heartbeat!
google avatar

Daran Z.

Yelp
Fan of the beers, but will be getting them somewhere else next time. The bartender was nice, but the host was very rude - enough for me to come on to yelp and write my first review in years...
google avatar

Cyrus A.

Yelp
CBC has a great space, with so much potential for group outings. Its size and location are probably what make it such a popular target for work gatherings, especially in the warmer months, when the patio is open and outdoor seating is aplenty. But, aside from the physical plant, CBC has never wowed me with what it's got going on. The beers are okay, but not ones that I'd necessarily seek out. Same goes for the food, it'll fill a need if you're really hungry, but it's not particularly memorable. And, unfortunately, CBC's size is not only a strength, but one of its biggest weaknesses. The bar just isn't big enough to handle all the customers when it's even at 50% capacity. And they usually only have one bartender working, even during busier hours. Between the long wait times, the forgettable food/drink, and the fact that there are tons of great alternatives just a short walk away, I can't get behind CBC as a place I'd seek out for myself or my friends.

Yelp
As an out of towner, this place fulfilled my hunger after a long car trip! My friend and I sat outside which was equipped with space heaters. We were greeted by puppies as the patio is dog friendly. The beer is great and they offer a large selection of everything you could want to drink from lagers to pale ales to meibocks. The calamari was delicious... it was mixed with breaded deep fried banana pepper rings and artichokes. We split the artichoke and lobster pizza which was covered in pieces of lobster, artichokes and asparagus with a thick crust, and the bbq burger which was alright. Our server was perfectly attentive at the right times and all together, I was not dissatisfied
google avatar

Yi H.

Yelp
Above average bar/pub food. Good service. Loud music. This is where you'd want to go for drinks and a burger on a Friday night, but not the place for a first date. I went with a large group and we ordered a tower. For appetizers, we got a mezze plate and a fried brussel sprout to share. I'd say one appetizer between two people is a good ratio. I decided to go for a salad but other people in our group got burgers. The fries were good, apparently the crab cake burger was also good. However, the ratio of the crab cake to bread seemed too low. Overall okay place

Yelp
Dining outdoors is always difficult, especially during Covid. My 4 person party and our companion 4 person party requested to sit outside, close to one another, so we could at least see each other. Upon arrival, despite our request, we were sat several tables away, EVEN THOUGH there was another empty table across from (about 8 feet away). Additionally, there were 3 or 4 other empty tables in another outdoor section, which they also denied us. Upon requesting to sit within viewing distance again, the GM was not accommodating in the least bit and even her servers said they didn't see the point of her denial and unfortunately there was no one else we could talk to (truthfully, they seemed fearful of their GM, how sad). She was not receptive or kind, if anything she was stand offish and dismissive. Our server was kind enough to make our dining experience more tolerable, but we were left with a very unsatisfactory feeling. about an hour into our time there, a group was finally sat at the table across from us, so we did not understand why our request, which they said they would try to accommodate, was blatantly ignored. Very disappointing experience and we will not be back.

Yelp
It was my first time dining here, and their COVID safety protocol was good! They are dog friendly, so I brought my pup in and everyone welcomed him :) So here's my breakdown of my dining experience: *Ambiance: 5* love the fairy lights outdoors, it was relaxing and lovely *Service: 4* the staffs and servers were accommodating and friendly, but the food service itself was average-slow *Drinks: 5* it's a brewing company, duh. Draft beers were cold and crisp. Nice selection of drinks for everyone! *Food: 2* below-average... nothing crazy or special. I thought of giving 1* but that would be too mean. Margherita pizza tasted like plain old cheese pizza. The crust was decent. Brussel sprouts were okay, the curry sauce could have some more flavor. The chowder was below average, it wasn't thick at all. Now here comes my real reason why I gave food category two stars... I ordered their wing flight on dinner special. 3 different flavors (gochujang, Chinese rib style, and peach habanero) 12 total count. When it first came out, it was completely burnt. Like literally burnt. We called our server over and told him that it was burnt and it shouldn't be served like this. But his reasoning was this is how kitchen has been making the wings all night and serving it this way. I'm a server myself, so I know that its not servers fault, but the kitchen, expo, and/or the manager should not let the food go out like this to the customers... anyways, our server brought the wings back and told us that they will give us a new one in 10 mins. While we were waiting, we saw a table across from us ordered a wing flight special as well. It was burnt, what a surprise. I watched him eat (I know I was being creepy but I was trying to read his reaction). That customer obviously did not like it. He was frowning every bite, wondering if he should even eat this. He was taking the burnt skins off and barely ate any pieces. When the server came over to him, he was too nice and said the food tasted good. But couple minutes later, when the sever checked on him again, he said it was burnt. Obviously, the server gave him the same reason that he gave to us. But this time, the server didn't offer that customer any other option. 10 mins or so later, the wing re-do came to our table. Not burnt this time! It seemed like they coated with sauce after they fried the chicken this time to prevent it from sauce burning when it fries. But Chinese rib style sauce was missing... we got a plain chicken instead. Wings tasted very average. Anyways, this was my experience at Cambridge Brewing Company. Although people were nice, i dont think i will be back. Only because Im a customer paying for food and drink, and I expect my food to taste at least decent.

Yelp
Most bizarre restaurant experience I've had in years. I showed up with a reservation for myself and five friends, and was greeted by a hostess who at first declined to try to pronounce my name, which was fine, so I pronounced it for her. She responded "yeah I figured it was the weird name" which is exactly the kind of racist undertone you look for when going to a restaurant. She kind of corrected herself but didn't apologize, whatever, nothing to make a scene over, but still odd. The weirdness only compounded from there though. Our server had a habit of talking to himself constantly, and cracked some jokes that just completely missed the mark while waiting on the table. Generally one of the more awkward social interactions I've had with someone in a restaurant. On the plus side, the food was pretty good! It's all standard pub fare so nothing to blow you away but, hey, if it ain't broke. Beers are average, nothing amazing but nothing offensive either. TL;DR: If you can go without having to speak to the staff you'll probably enjoy yourself.

Yelp
Let me preface this review by saying this place was a second choice after realizing the Smoke Shop would be an additional 30+ minute wait on a Wednesday night at 7:30pm. We were starving so off to the CBC! My SO and I dined here with another couple and they are known for their Beer selection. Sadly our waitress informed us that they were actually out of several of their favorite beers. Womp womp. Well luckily I wasn't planning on ordering a drink anyway. The other couple ordered 2 different beer flights and that's great that they have that option for you to sample several different types and figure out what type(s) you like the most! As for the food, the experience was pretty run of the mill for my CBC burger. It was filling, but nothing too memorable. The fries were also quite bland. My SO ordered the poutine appetizer (as a meal) and it came out as a larger size than expected! Granted most of it were thick cut bland fries topped with some meat. The other couple ordered the fish and chips and a large pumpkin ravioli (1/2 order comes with 4). One major point of discomfort was definitely how close the tables and seats were together so my chair was probably almost touching the back of the table behind us. I felt bad for one of the male patrons that was completely spilling out of a table meant for 2 but it looked like he was also dining by himself. I like to have my own elbow room while dining and we are in Cambridge, not Boston so I wasn't expecting this scare of real estate.

Yelp
Tired this cute this brewery out the other day, made reservations online before I got there, they have a strict 90 minute limit! But the beer was good and not over priced! I got pepperoni and mushroom pizza as well as Buffalo chicken tenders the food was good. Overall I would recommend checking this place out they also have outdoor seating when it gets nice out

Yelp
Beer, food, or beer & food - doesn't matter what you are in the mood for, this is going to be a hit. I work locally so this is a lunch spot, dinner spot, chill spot and even after work outing spot. If you love craft beer, CBC has been making delicious beer for years and you have probably seen some of their brews like Flower Child throughout liquor stores and super markets in MA. Recently discovered on my last visit they make a mean sour as well, Try Dance Band on the Titanic.

Yelp
Food was really good. Like the outside seating. Eggplant fries were promising, liked the marinara dip with it. Lentil burger was not that interesting to me but a great option for vegetarians. Chicken tenders we're dry, could be better. Hot friend chicken was juicy and yum, however needed more spice. Margarita pizza was a little dry, didn't have much marinara in it. Dog friendly

Yelp
This place was impossible for our Uber driver to find because it's actually located inside this outdoor complex. Just have your driver drop you off somewhere near the complex and walk. We had a large party (in Boston for a corporate event) and they were the only ones that could seat us last minute (woohoo!). The food was OK at best, the wine was not aerated, but the beer selection was pretty good. They also have TOWERS which is dope! But all in all, a pretty forgettable experience.

Yelp
Delicious variety of locally brewed & seasonal beers- there is always something for those of us who like less hops! Good food menu at still-manageable prices, friendly atmosphere and a lovely shaded patio! A go-to meeting spot for friends in the Kendall area.

Yelp
I've been coming here for thirteen years. Kendall square has changed a lot, but one thing has remained consistent: Cambridge Brewing Company remains the best, most unique brewery in the city. From standards like the Cambridge Amber to the more unique offerings like the Blunderbuss Barlywine, there's something for every pallet. But it's not just a beer hall, the menu has been consistently fantastic since I started going here. Great burgers, creative flatbreads, healthier salad and bowl options, and some great vegetarian options. The staff has been friendly, helpful, and welcoming every time I've been here. I love this place.
