It was my first time dining here, and their COVID safety protocol was good! They are dog friendly, so I brought my pup in and everyone welcomed him :) So here's my breakdown of my dining experience:
*Ambiance: 5* love the fairy lights outdoors, it was relaxing and lovely
*Service: 4* the staffs and servers were accommodating and friendly, but the food service itself was average-slow
*Drinks: 5* it's a brewing company, duh. Draft beers were cold and crisp. Nice selection of drinks for everyone!
*Food: 2* below-average... nothing crazy or special. I thought of giving 1* but that would be too mean. Margherita pizza tasted like plain old cheese pizza. The crust was decent. Brussel sprouts were okay, the curry sauce could have some more flavor. The chowder was below average, it wasn't thick at all.
Now here comes my real reason why I gave food category two stars... I ordered their wing flight on dinner special. 3 different flavors (gochujang, Chinese rib style, and peach habanero) 12 total count. When it first came out, it was completely burnt. Like literally burnt. We called our server over and told him that it was burnt and it shouldn't be served like this. But his reasoning was this is how kitchen has been making the wings all night and serving it this way. I'm a server myself, so I know that its not servers fault, but the kitchen, expo, and/or the manager should not let the food go out like this to the customers... anyways, our server brought the wings back and told us that they will give us a new one in 10 mins.
While we were waiting, we saw a table across from us ordered a wing flight special as well. It was burnt, what a surprise. I watched him eat (I know I was being creepy but I was trying to read his reaction). That customer obviously did not like it. He was frowning every bite, wondering if he should even eat this. He was taking the burnt skins off and barely ate any pieces. When the server came over to him, he was too nice and said the food tasted good. But couple minutes later, when the sever checked on him again, he said it was burnt. Obviously, the server gave him the same reason that he gave to us. But this time, the server didn't offer that customer any other option.
10 mins or so later, the wing re-do came to our table. Not burnt this time! It seemed like they coated with sauce after they fried the chicken this time to prevent it from sauce burning when it fries. But Chinese rib style sauce was missing... we got a plain chicken instead. Wings tasted very average.
Anyways, this was my experience at Cambridge Brewing Company. Although people were nice, i dont think i will be back. Only because Im a customer paying for food and drink, and I expect my food to taste at least decent.
