"One of those instances where the passing of the generational baton has injected renewed energy into a business, although it’s not uncommon to see its founder, Antonio López, still putting in an occasional appearance! Toni, front of house, and his brother Iván, in the kitchen, are now running the show on their own. In the dining room, which is divided between several spaces with a rustic-contemporary decor, attractive azulejo tiling and an open-view kitchen, the concise à la carte focuses on updated traditional cuisine, with a continual nod to local products, alongside three tasting menus (Xúquer, in homage to Camí Vell’s signature dishes, Casella and Murta)." - Michelin Inspector

Arguably the best meal I have experienced in my whole life. As excellent as it is understated. Service was exceptional -- friendly, happy, highly skilled, yet not overly solicitous. Food was creative, perfectly prepared, and delicious. My favorite part was the dessert that featured a sprinkling of chocolate-covered pop rocks. If you find yourself anywhere near this restaurant, do yourself a favor and go.

Impeccable service. The tasting menu was varied and interesting. Even though some dishes lacked a kick, the value is there without a question. A solid wine selection too.

This really is a fantastic restaurant. We have now been here at least four times. It just gets better and better. The staff are extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Tony speaks excellent English and will guide you through the menu. On our most recent visit his other front of house colleague was equally helpful. So to the food. We have eaten extensively in this area including in the city of Valencia and we have eaten no better food than here. On this visit the amuse bouche was a delightfully fragrant cucumber soup coupled (unusually but very effectively) with a delicate chicken liver parfait. My wife (Amanda) had an exceptional dish of cows tendon with a parsnip cream which was deliciously gelatinous with a gently flavored beef jus. I had the cod croquettes which were full of flakey cod and beautifully fried to a crisp. For our main course we had the “wet rice” (Arroz Marinera). We have eaten rice all over the Valencian region from El Palmar, to the city, to the surrounding mountains and this is the best we have ever had. The shellfish were well prepared and featured white prawns from Cullera and langoustine. They were semi shelled and were easy to eat. Additionally there were a myriad of other fishy items (octopus amongst others I think) to create a seafood extravaganza. However it is the stock that is the real star. Not too fishy, not too salty but just right to lend a fabulous flavor to the rice. It really is top drawer! We both had deserts Amanda having an Orange sorbet - a description that really does not do the dish justice. It was multifaceted with sorbet, ice cream and an almost marmalade style base. I had the chocolate fondant which was exceptional. The final bill was very reasonable for such good food at €45 per head including 3 Beers, one Orange Vermouth, 5 glasses of wine and two coffees. We very rarely review anywhere but Cami Vell is a must. I will try and find some pictures to post a little later but now it is time for a siesta!

Volveremos seguro .
