The 15 Best Restaurants In Tulum

"If you woke up craving something sweet or just need something very cold immediately, head to Campanella Cremerie. Explore the entire ice cream menu—the matcha with lemongrass is great, but you should try the banana crunch, classic chocolate, and pistachio—or go all out with the crispy, fluffy Belgian waffles topped with a scoop of gelato, whipped cream, and chocolate." - barbara gutierrez

The 23 Essential Tulum Restaurants

"With delicious gelato, high-quality coffee made with beans from Veracruz, and waffles, Tulum’s most inviting cafe is a crowd favorite any time of day. There’s a juice bar and paninis for lunch, double espresso to pick you up in the afternoon before another fun-filled evening of food and drink, and sweet gelato to end an evening after dinner and a stroll. With seasonal flavors like Argentine caramel, lemon pie with toasted coconut, and Sicilian pistachio, there’s something for every palate, and it’s all better as an affogato." - Bill Esparza

Google
It was the best, most flavorful latte I've had in a long, long time (there's decaf too.) Having made a number of visits over the last month I can confirm they are consistent in the quality of their coffee, paninis, and top-notch friendly service. A few times I've had the turkey croissant panini. It comes on a huge, fresh croissant with real mozzarella. Yummmm! Try the gelato too, lots of flavors. It's on the main street and within a 2 or 3-minute walk from the bus terminal. Enjoy!

Google
Loved the place. Their coffees are great. But the ice creams are the best. And pistachio is the best of all! Don’t try a sample if you can’t accommodate it as you will definitely end up buying one even if you’re full. Sweet people with great service!

Google
The food was delicious!! Best breakfast we've had in Central America, coffee was good too and service was really nice. Really recommend!

Google
Great spot right on the main street! Outdoor seating only. Food is well presented but I can’t give it five stars. We got Salmon on baguette and a Bowl with poached eggs. Eggs were hardboiled, not poached, and everything kinda lacked flavor. We’ve been waiting for food for about 30 minutes! Another thing that is kinda bothersome is that sellers from the street come to your table and try to sell their stuff. I understand that it’s a busy street and I wish I could help all the locals make their living but it is rather annoying when you are eating, there should be some kind of policy or at least a sign about soliciting. Overall it’s a cute place, their menu is great, coffees are really good, staff is friendly, and it’s also a gelato spot!

Google
There is very good service and delicious food, the coffee is excellent, moderately invigorating and does not cause anxiety😁. I've had Arabian eggs a few times. It was delicious.

Google
I loved it here. It’s right off a main strip where you can see people walking up and down. I ordered a waffle with strawberries and gelato and enjoyed it. The place was nice and neat. I stopped by around 10pm on Tuesday night and found it quite relaxing.

Google
Desserts are delicious and the staff is friendly. It's a good place to enjoy a cup of coffee and have a good conversation with someone. In my opinion, they should improve some of their cold coffee drinks. They also offer a variety of ice cream, I didn't try it but it looked really tasty🤭

Google
Amaaaazing ice cream. One of the best since a long time.. The taste of the creaminess is outstanding. Tastes like pure ingredients and not to much sugar. Highly recommend

Yelp
We tried the espresso, berry gelato, and pineapple basil gelato. All were good. The espresso was strong and flavorful. The pineapple basil gelato was interesting and refreshing.

Yelp
Ironically located across the street from one of our other favorite ice cream spots (Aldo's), this creamery is more boutique style also serving frozen yogurts, pastries, sandwiches and coffees. Cordial staff and nice outdoor patio area to hang out, soak in the environment and people watch.

Yelp
This ice cream spot is a delight! We ran into it while walking the city centre of Tulum and we are so glad we stopped by! The shop is super cute and modern, lots of really good flavors as well. My faaaaaavorite was absolutely the mango ice cream. It was so smooth and consistent and not overwhelming on the creamy side or the sorbet side. It was a perfect balance for the best mango ice cream I've ever had. I wanted to go back!!

Yelp
We came here for ice cream and it was fresh, generous, delicious, and tasty. Pretty good : )
google avatar

Lashanda L.

Yelp
I enjoyed the gelato, great service, and clean lines of the decor. I will be back soon for breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
The pistachio was out of this world. They're quick, generous scoops. Come by for the best sweet treat in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good ice cream selection and great waffle crepe offerings. I ended up getting the passion fruit ice cream with hazelnut. I t was fruity, nutty and savory. My partner got the Banana King Waffle, with has sliced bananas, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and caramelized peanuts. Its like a condensed banana split, minus the ice cream and cherries. It was executed well. I would have ate one myself, but I was saving room for more food as I wanted to explore the area.

Yelp
Amazing food!!! So much variety, each dish presented beautifully and tasted impeccable. We tried so many different dishes and enjoyed it all. This is a cute little cafe with outdoor seating on the main street in Tulum. This is one of the few restaurants in the area with plenty of vegetarian choices. We liked it so much that we ate at this place twice during our stay here. I had the beetroot hummus toast which was beautiful to look at and tasty although it was a little tart due to pickles and cream cheese. The croissant was quite light and airy, but was served cold so I had to ask the server to warm it up: The oatmeal pancake, Suzy's chicken panini and pivvo turkey were all good, exactly as described in the menu. The absolute stars of the show were the desserts! Tiramisu, cheesecake gelato and Frappuccino were sooo yummmyy. The only con was that the service was slow so we had to wait quite a bit for every order. Even so, I would highly recommend trying this restaurant at least once when visiting Tulum. You won't regret it :)

Yelp
Great coffee in Aldea Zama!! The waffles are excellent and so are the croissants and sandwiches. People behind the counter are efficient and charming. Servers are friendly and fast.

Yelp
I wanted something really sweet after dinner, and my friend suggested ice cream. Honestly one of the best places we visited in Tulum. I got the pistachio real (which was the best I've had so far), and my fiancé got the café moka. So good and a must try if you're in the area! And the staff was super nice and let us sample the ice cream before purchasing.

C A.

Yelp
Our last night in Mexico, so we decided we needed a late evening treat to finish off our trip. We were NOT disappointed! Staff was very friendly, prices are very reasonable, and their desserts.....OUTSTANDING! Their Tiramisu was very light, creamy, and flavourful. Their waffles are quite tasty as well. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice fresh ice cream served in a smaller proportion with a cute tiny spoon! The street views and local scene are a charm
google avatar

Diana N.

Yelp
1 scoop 55 pesos 2 scoops 85 pesos Pistachio was really good and tasted natural. Cacahuate Crunch (peanut gelato w/ dulce de leche swirl & roasted peanuts) was my favorite. Sweeter than the pistachio, so it was a good mix. BF got mixed berries (or something) which was very refreshing. Very creamy ice cream! Recommend. The waffles and other food looked good too. Gets busy in the evenings.

Yelp
So I was looking for a dessert place after having some lunch. Saw this place while walking back to the car and and decided to check it out. This is place is really nice. Price isn't bad at all either so I just decided to try something really yummy. Waffle with Banana Carmel ice cream with chocolate and nuts. Perfection made! I wanted to try more stuff but I was so stuffed after this. Really good place.

Yelp
Conveniently located on Avenida Tulum, Campanella Cremerie has made a name for itself by peddling some of Mexico's finest Gelato, though for many the air conditioned store with a shaded outdoor patio is just as popular for Coffee and Pastry in a pleasant atmosphere. Bilingual and buoyed by accolades including a second place finish at the 2016 World Gelato Tour, no small feat against global competition, it is from twenty daily flavors that guests are invited to make choices, everything from indigenous Fruits to Straciatella showing well thanks to a dense and creamy base. Eventually settling on Banana Crunch and Caramel, though Coffee roasted by Italians with Beans from Veracruz was tempting, it was only the presence of Pastel de Nata that prevented adding a Campanella Waffle, though in retrospect this was a misguided decision since the typically crisp Shell was compromised by Quintana Roo's omnipresent humidity.

Yelp
This was the perfect way to end our night. The servers were very kind and the ice cream was Get the Dulce de leche and the peanut butter ice cream. They were just so so good!!!!

Yelp
In the Tulum heat, I couldn't resist any frozen treats and gelato was no different. I woke up one morning and ordered a double scoop. I wanted a cone even though I think all the locals get cups because of the melt factor. I took it upon myself to just gobble my cone faster. I picked a caramel and an chocolate almond scoop. Absolutely delicious! The caramel and almond complemented each other. I ate quickly and went through my fair amount of napkins. I love the whole chunks of almonds. It really took me back to Italy. Well done Tulum! Maybe I will need to get an ice cream machine again. The cafe was cute and very European. The coffee looked like a heavy hitter here and also the pastries. I couldn't help but return a different day for a hot cappuccino and an apple tart. Absolutely mouth watering. Since I was there early in the morning and there was shade curtains in the patio, the heat did not bother my experience. I would recommend this to any sweet tooth visiting Tulum and needing a sweet fix.

Yelp
The heat in Tulum is tortuous. There's really no way to describe it. I was visiting in February for my birthday and decided to do some sight seeing. It was 93 degrees that day, wow! I had some time between a walking tour and was seeking a place for ice cream and shelter. Campanella Cremerie was one of the first places on my Yelp app, so I walked over. Campanella Cremerie has a cozy, modern space. Out front are a fair amount of seating and tables. I walked in instantly feeling cool and relieved. The menu features gelato but also hot/cold food, pastries, and beverages. I would say, its more of a high end, modern cafe more than an ice cream shop (as I had thought). The staff immediately served me and were very attentive. The gelato flavors are a little more unique than what I've seeing the U.S. Yes, they have the standard vanilla but you'll find it in-between a pistachio flavored ice cream, or yogurt con fresitas treat. I opted for a regular sized cup of stracciatella (vanilla gelato topped with chocolate shavings). There was also an option to try a sample of the cheesecake which I definitely jumped on. After getting my treats, I found a quaint spot in a corner and just relaxed with my phone and music. The gelato was PERFECT! just the right amount of sweetness and the texture was soft and creamy. I loved it. I did not like the sample of cheesecake, I just didn't like the taste, a little bitter. Staff were very kind, attentive, and personable. Overall, it was such a calming and great experience on a hot day. I was almost sad when I finished my ice cream. I cannot wait to return to Tulum, as Campanella will be among my first stops. Thanks for a great experience!

Yelp
Super cute and friendly spot we ran into on our way to lunch leaving the Tulum ruins. It was a particularly hot day and after spending it lounging around on the beach, my sister and I were ready for something cold and sweet. First impressions: clean and cute. Loved the shaded outdoor seating area where we could enjoy our ice cream (served in those old fashioned glass fluted bowls) and people watch. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to sample as many flavors as we wanted until we settled on our favorites: coconut cream and wild berry cheesecake. Both were so delicious that my sister and I went back for a second helping! It was the perfect way to satisfy our craving for something cold, creamy and sweet. We actually made it back here a second time before our trip ended and the creamery was just as friendly and sweet as the first time! Highly recommend!

Yelp
It was a cute spot in the middle of Tulum. The service was nice and really quick and the ambience was amazing! I ordered the Belgian waffle with a scoop of dulce de Leche and my friend got the cheesecake. The presentation was beautiful but the flavors of the dishes we ordered weren't as beautiful as the presentation which made me sad because everything was so pretty. My friend felt the exact same way. We thought maybe it was just what we ordered but when they graciously gave us samples we realized that overall the flavors were a bit blah. It is a cute place but was the food decent: yes Was it memorable: not really

Yelp
I'm not an ice cream person but was craving good sweets so came here to try their cakes. The place is very cute and cozy. I had Americano, Tiramisu and cheesecake. Neither of the cakes tasted cheesy and they were not overly sweet. Tiramisu was my favorite out of the two. They have WiFi with good connection. Glad I brought my laptop to do some work. The ice cream flavors looked interesting so perhaps I'll be back to try some.

Yelp
Okay okay, I thought the gelato in Maui was amazing, but I think Tulum beats them. Me and the husband basically came here almost every day while we were in Tulum. It was a bit hard to find paletas, the weather was 90 degrees with the humidity making it feel like 105 degrees...you get the picture. Something cold and icy was needed We tried their hazelnut flavor (AMAZING, tastes like a ferroro rocher with tons of chocolate bits in it), their passionfruit and mint and stratiacella. All were winners with our favorite being the hazelnut. You get huge scoops and best of all, like a two scoop bowl is only $3.50 USD. Insane, since we are used to paying $10 for the same thing. It's on the main downtown Tulum street towards the Pueblo neighborhood. If you're in Tulum, you'll probably find is easily. Worth the visit!

Yelp
BEST ICE CREAM EVER!!! we found out this place the second night we spent in Tulum and we come every night after the first one! The ice cream is incredible! Real Italian Gelato!!
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute spot with great service. Such a sweet treat after tacos in town, especially on a hot day. Under knee sweat is no fun, but dessert is

Yelp
Lovely ice creamery. They have lots of options. I enjoyed the fresh juice & coffee. The location is conveniently on the main road of tulum. It's a nice place where locals and tourists can enjoy their mornings. @priscillamiami

Yelp
Such a cute little shop with the friendliest workers. We were waiting for the restaurant next door to open up for dinner. Wanted something sweet and did a quick yelp search and up popped this place right next door, so went in to kill some time. You're able to sample some flavors prior to purchasing which actually made it harder to decide since they were all quite good. We decided on the coconut cream and raspberry cheese cake for one and the other coco chocolate blanco and flan.- ice cream was creamy and soft but wasn't overly rich to the point of being too much. Coco chocolate blanco was my favorite. The ice cream had lots of coconut in it which I love. The texture was creamy and light at the same time 5 stars**** Pistachio cream puff- now I love pistachio anything but this was so good, light, fluffy, and just flat out perfect. The cream puff was light and chewy and was filled with pistachio cream that was also light and flavorful. The cream puff is then dipped in pistachio chocolate and then rolled in crushed pistachios. Mouth-gasm 5 stars***** Wouldn't mind stopping back to Tulum and stopping here a few times.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
Amazing gelato and many flavors to choose from. They will let you try flavors before you decide what you want to buy too. My pick would be Ferrero rocher!!
google avatar

Candace L.

Yelp
My son enjoyed a bit of gelato from Campanella. I tried a few flavors but passed on a scoop. Really, nowhere on earth can quite compare to my hometown favorite so I'd rather not even try in some instances. Very lovely store front in a part of town where most other businesses are quite rugged.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Not the best customer service here, but the ice cream was good!!! I had a salted caramel flavor and I enjoyed every bite. There are a few tables out front for sitting. Enjoy!
google avatar

Vaithinathan R.

Yelp
This place has the best pistachio ice cream I've EVER eaten!! Made with roasted pistachios. Yumm!!
google avatar

Eva S.

Yelp
We came here looking for a late night dessert spot (open past 9PM) and the gelato and coffee were good. We ordered two espressos, the cheesecake and matcha tuluminati gelato. The espressos were solid, bold and bitter, I can imagine the latte would have been delicious. The cheesecake was tiny and tasted like it was store bought but it was decent. The gelato however was delicious! I liked that it wasn't purely matcha flavored, it had other ingredients inside that really made it a unique taste. It was also on the creamier side for a gelato. Definitely give it a try if you're nearby, wish I took some pictures.
google avatar

Andrew A.

Yelp
Great ice cream and great setting. Located towards the town center, Campanella Cremerie is surrounded by tons of great restaurants. Perfect for an after dinner treat! I ended up coming here twice during my 4 day stay in Tulum because it was so good. There's excellent live music during the weekends as well. Definitely try one of their waffle concoctions. If you want to use your card you'll need to spend more than 150 pesos!
google avatar

Pam L.

Yelp
The ice cream is so good here that we went EVERYDAY while we were in Tulum. All the flavors are delicious but some favorites were the Hazelnut and Coconut. The Mango was a bit TOO intense but there were also fun flavors like Pineapple and Basil. They also have great wifi here and fans so you can cool off with delicious ice cream. Ice cream was about 35 Pesos for a small scoop.
google avatar

kenny A.

Yelp
Best ice cream in town! Dulce de leche is the best flavor ! People are very nice on both of their locations!
google avatar

Sean B.

Yelp
A little bit of heaven inside a heavenly place. They have some super interesting and tasty flavors like speculos, passionfruit mouse, flan, and lemon pie with toasted coconut. They will let you sample two flavors as well. Perfect spot before or after a swim in a cenote!
google avatar

Misha W.

Yelp
came here due to a sweet tooth and unfortunately I am lactose intolerant so no dairy please !!! They have 4 sorbet options and I chose mango and put it in a cone! Very fresh and delicious! It was clean and friendly service with a cute little band playing within the entrance opening. would totally recommend !!
google avatar

Stacey M.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the beautifully photographed and perfectly informative menu. The food is even more beautiful and fresh than the photos. The three little guys in the photo are notoriously difficult food critics. There hasn't been a sound from the table in 10 minutes and I barely had time to snap a shot before they were done. Gorgeous delicious food. Great value with veggie options and affordable for even the most frugal budget travelers. The gelato case is a work of art. It's worth walking in just to see it. One block from the bus station.
google avatar

Cherrie S.

Yelp
The banana crunch ice cream amazing...and paired with the chocolate hazelnut is bombbbb! Highly recommend the visit. Clean and staff is super nice and helpful! Worth the drive out of the center of town
google avatar

Rafael V.

Yelp
Perfect little spot to relax and refresh. We had ice cream, a pastry, and iced coffee. This was my first taste of ice cream in Mexico and it was delicious. I had the pie de limón. Staff was very attentive.
google avatar

Elain T.

Yelp
This place has the best pistachio ice cream I've ever had in my life. We came back here every night after dinner and got pistachio because it's just that good. We also tried some of the sorbet flavors and loved them as well! Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area. You won't regret it!

Yelp
New Years Day breakfast! Our last day in Tulum began with a delightful breakfast at Campanella. Coffee, croissants, waffles, yogurt, sandwiches, etc. This is a quaint cafe with table service. Listen to the soft tunes and enjoy the sun on your body as you dine. I had the tuna sandwich which included olives, Parmesan, and avocado. The sandwich was accompanied by a green salad with a peanut vinaigrette. Delicious!!! To drink, I had a hazelnut mocha. 140 pesos total for my meal. I found my choice to be very filling. I was only able to eat 1/2 of my sandwich and I took the rest to go for later. My gal pals had the waffle and yogurt parfaits. They were also satisfied with their choices. If you're looking for a quick and delicious bite to eat in Tulum, check this place out! The staff were also very friendly.
google avatar

Khushbu S.

Yelp
We came here one night after dinner/walking around. They have a pretty large menu with different gelatos, coffee, and waffle desserts. We ordered an affogato (delicious) and the waffle dish (also delicious). Another plus is that they take credit card!
google avatar

Timothea L.

Yelp
A block and a half from the ADO station, an easy and delicious spot to hit up after getting to or about to leave from Tulum. The coconut juice drink is absolutely amazing and we went there 3 times, just for it! Cafe frio con leche was also delicious. Very good prices and all fresh food. Sandwhiches and paninis come with a nice crisp green salad and the best balsamic reduction as the dressing. Highly recommended and great, friendly staff.

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
So delicious and so affordable. The waffles are incredible and huge. The coffee is great
google avatar

Maria F.

Yelp
We stumbled across this place while walking be around town in Tulum. It caught our eye simply by the amount of people that were already sitting at tables; obviously that was a great move! We enjoyed some coffee and waffles and couldn't have been happier. The lady that seemed to be the owner even gave me directions to the post office, and even asked had we found it when we returned for some water. Also, a personal touch that may not seem big...they had soy and almond milk! Being lactose intolerant makes it hard to find places with milk alternatives here in Tulum! This is definitively a place you must visit!
google avatar

Kvin K.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream and I absolutely LOVED it on top of the waffle with chocolate syrup! My friend and I loved enjoying it as we took a break from our long day of walking up and down the street enjoying mezcal margaritas! I loved the selection and the friendly staff, but the only thing to worry about a bit is the prices. This place was a little expensive. I understand that the place profits off tourists, but the prices aren't comparable to others around. Still fun to try though. buen helado!

Tri P.

Yelp
All of the flavors are delicious. Origami, aldo's and all the other places take a backseat to this place. Our favorite is the pistachio so we got a double scoop the 2nd time around but the coconut and mint flavors are also delicious.

Melissa R.

Yelp
My favorite breakfast in Tulum! Cute place on the main road. I had an egg on toast with goat cheese, asparagus, zucchini, beets-delicious! My family had the yummy paninis that were also very good. The lattes were the best we had.

Margelys G.

Yelp
This was the best breakfast I've ever had. We went here about 3-4 times during our trip. The prices are reasonable and the food was always fresh. The waffles are to die for! The service is also great. The waffles look small but they are a good size, I was super full every time. My favorite one was crock n roll it was so refreshing and not overly sweet literally perfect.
