"Campono bulges with Kennedy Center patrons looking for a quick and casual bite before a performance. The casual counter service Italian joint has indoor and outdoor seating and specializes in hot and cold panini, salads, and wood-fired pizza. Beer, wine and coffee are available, too. It’s open for breakfast during the week, serving Compass Coffee and made-to-order bagel sandwiches. The restaurant is not afraid to maximize space, so be prepared to get cozy during peak hours." - Travis Mitchell

Pricey but well worth the experience. You pay for your meal. You get your own ice water, plates, silverware, napkins. Servers bring you your meal. The pizza came very quickly. It was great.

Stopped here shortly before go to the Kennedy Center to see a show. This place is nice and clean. It has a little ice cream bar too. It's pricy but given its location, only 1 minute walking distance from KC, it's understandable. The only thing I don't like is their staffs. They don't have bad attitude but they are very cool. They don't greet or talk to their customers.

Delicious Margherita pizza and the mushroom melt was fantastic. We also had iced coffee and gelato, both excellent. The cauliflower and goat cheese soup was good, but not special compared to the rest.

Excellent atmosphere. The food was great. Could have use a little more seasoning on the egg avocado. But delicious with great presentation. Delivery to table was fast.

Excellent pizza. I make a killer pizza myself. This place beats mine! See my captions with photo. Also this place is marked as one $, incorrect. This place is expensive and $20 for 6 slices

I stopped in before seeing a show at The Kennedy Center and received FAST, GREAT service considering how busy they were. The food was OUTSTANDING as well, I will definitely be returning here in the future.

I was at this restaurant for the first time last evening. It is situated across from the Kennedy Center, so was a natural place to try before attending a concert. The counter service (where everyone orders their food) was pretty swift, but getting the food from the kitchen was slow as molasses. Some of the members of my party even got their pizza before the others of us got our salads! (We were only a party of four.) The chicken in the salads was dry, but all the ingredients were fresh. We were all grateful that forks had made it to the place inside where one picks up such things before our food arrived. The pizza was said to be good. It was crowded at the restaurant, but we managed to find a table outside on a beautiful evening. We arrived about 6:10 and left about 7:30 pm. I will give them another try and see if perhaps they are still in a settling in period since I’m not sure when they opened. I hope that I am able to give them st least four stars next time. We’ll see what happens.

Good lunch stop before a show at the Kennedy Center. I ordered a pizza, and be advised that their dough is very soft, not crispy. Tomato sauce is a bit watery, and didn't help how floppy the pizza itself was, so I ended up eating mine with a fork and knife. They are very generous with toppings though, and it was a good experience in all.
