Canadian Roasting Society Opens the Dreamy Coffee Supermarket, Serving Southern Biscuits | Eater Montreal

"A 5,000-square-foot co-roasting factory and retail space, the Canadian Roasting Society operates a collaborative structure that allows multiple roasters to share facilities—something the founders say makes a large, multi-roaster retail project possible without waste, since unsold stock is sent out to cafés and subscribers. The space, built and maintained by Kenneth MacIntosh of For Good Measures, sits alongside the Lachine Canal and currently offers food and coffee to-go with plans to add a large summer terrasse in the front parking lot." - JP Karwacki

Coffee Cooperative Canadian Roasting Society Opens in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Housed in a warehouse on St-Patrick Street in the Sud-Ouest, this community co-roasting space is set up like a “WeWork, but for coffee roasting”: members pay a couple hundred dollars a month for access to roasting equipment and services. I found the facility very well-stocked, with two Probat roasters, a reverse osmosis water filter, cupping and brewing labs, and storage for green coffee, allowing café owners to come in once a week or every two weeks to roast without the six-figure startup costs (Kyres estimates over $100,000 to go it alone). The project—created by Andy Kyres of Tunnel Espresso and Scott Rao (formerly of Café Myriade)—also plans public events such as palate-training programs and eventually a coffee shop and food on site, though no timeline is set." - Tim Forster

The vibe here is really nice and relaxing. They have a wide variety of coffee bean roast options, which is amazing. The coffee itself is really good definitely worth trying. Plenty of parking space

Amazing coffee selection! We had a latte and macchiato, both were delicious. Espresso super creamy and chocolatey. The barista on Monday morning is extremely nice and knowledgeable! I will say it is more of a takeout cafe since it is a roasting place, it’s cold and not a lot of seating space. We loved the experience. We’ll definitely be back to try the pastries!!

The late is almost comically small and tastes kinda like black olives, not for me. The banana bread was really really good. The inside was cold and loud. Not for me.

The café has Canadian in its name, so I expected latte art. maybe a maple leaf or two. Instead, I got a tired latte, a confused cortado, and an innocent espresso wondering why it’s part of this disaster.

5 stars for coffee selection from local roasters. It is a one-stop shop to purchase and peruse a wide selection of coffees. On the other hand, the coffee served at the bar, is a bit disappointing. Not robust enough. Would have been a 5* spot, if they perfected their recipe.

Okay hear me out. You need to go to this place ASAP ! The brownies are crazy, the staff is helpful and you can’t go wrong with a bunch of coffee geek that know how to brew a good cup of coffee and help you brew one at home ! Best brownies I’ve ever had, really good roast choice. Incredible decoration, I’m glad I entered in here randomly ! Added a pic of one of the many delicious roast they were selling.

I discovered this place through comments on Reddit. I was both curious to go there and discouraged by all the overly marketed choices, feeling like I was going to the Sephora of coffee. Looking for rare gems, my husband and I bought two different kinds. And omg, we weren't disappointed! We'll be getting our coffee there from now on 😌

After moving to Canada, I have been exploring many delicious cafes to find my favorite coffee shop. I discovered two places, and one of them is this cafe. The baristas are always friendly, and of course, the coffee is amazing. Today, I was especially touched. I was feeling down and wanted a warm cup of coffee under the sunshine, so I revisited this place after a long time. I ordered Chocolate Pie ,two Americanos, but my card was declined. Oh my God! When I said I would do an e-transfer, the barista smiled and said he would cover it and told me come back again. I couldn’t believe it! I’ve never met such a kind barista in Canada. I feel blessed, and now we are enjoying a wonderful coffee time. Another story is that when my husband visited this cafe before, he asked about another coffee flavor and received a free cup. I want to give the highest score for this barista’s service mindset. His name is Jorge. If you come here, look for Jorge( little long dark brown hair and hansome with big eyes). You will find great joy in his smile and service! Jorge. I am VERY VERY appreciate it today Su
