Where to Eat and Drink in Park View on Georgia Avenue NW in D.C. | Eater DC

"For vegan fare, head to this spot on the corner of Georgia Avenue and Park Road NW. Formerly the old Mister Rotisserie, Cane and Coconut is known for its refreshing, made-to-order coconut water and sugarcane juice. On the food front, the curry cabbage, buffalo cauliflower, and sunfried plantains are standbys." - Mekita Rivas

Really nice cafe with vegan dishes. I often order Uber Eats for pick up and am usually fine with a small fee for doing so but there are better deals if you order at this place in person or on their website! You can get an entree and two sides for $25 for example (it's even on sale now for $20 on their site). I ordered the Chi Kong Nuggets and Moss Mac & Cheese for $24. The Chi Kong Nuggets were delicious and I loved the texture. They remind me of tostones. I wasn't as much a fan of the Moss Mac and Cheese. It tasted pretty good but the noodles were too soft and almost mushy.

Omg! I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. First of all the store owner was so kind and waited for me to pick up my meal even after the store had closed. I was going to give them 5 stars alone for that! But the food is also so amazing! The flavor of the “crab” wrap was out standing. The bbq nuggets on top of that kale SALAD!!!! 👀👀👀👀 chefs kiss. I hope they don’t never close. They even gave me so fresh lychee fruit on the side of my meal.

Google
Great establishment for those looking for raw vegan and/or healthier alternatives to the standard American diet. I appreciate the customer loyalty rewards program and discounted prices when you order online which helps offset the prices (a little pricey for my budget haha). I got the So Real cold pressed juice which was absolutely delicious and the coconut crab wrap with the sprouted wild rice and kale sesame side salad. Fertari, the owner, even gave me more than what I ordered and added an additional side of their deep sea arugula which was so kind, thank you! As for the food, the sprouted wild rice and deep sea arugula were great and I enjoyed the kale sesame but think it would have been better with a dressing (I don’t think mine had any outside of light oil). My only real critique is for the coconut crab wrap which was not anything close to the texture of crab meat or what someone would be expecting if going for a mock crab meat. Instead, it was more on the mushy side the last 2-3 times ordering this entree which has been a huge disappointment because it used to be my favorite when I first started ordering from here. So hoping that the original recipe can return as the original way was a very good alternative and spot on (flavor and texture wise) for those looking for an alternative to seafood without sacrificing on the taste and texture that ppl go for when ordering crab entrees and transitioning. All in all, I think it is a great establishment and much needed restaurant in the food industry as we have very limited healthy let alone raw living food options here in America. I would say the highs are their cold pressed juices, sides, and fresh kosher produce but room for improvement in their entrees when it comes to consistency. Thank you for all you do! I believe it is a gem in the rough and that Cane & Coconut will reach that unprecedented mark with continued practice and labor in due time!

Google
Whether you’re plant based or not, I recommend this place. My favorites right now are the nuggets and Thai kelp noodles. But their other options like the “burger”, kale salad, and pizza is super delicious. You can find seeded watermelon, grapes, raw pressed juices, key limes here as well. They sell fresh coconut water which is my must have. Check out their dessert options too! The atmosphere is quaint. Not a sit in restaurant. I always experience consistent friendly service. If you have a nut allergy, make them aware as a few items contain nuts.

Seamoss Mac & Cheese was creamy and delicious. The seamoss has a similar consistency to standard pasta noodles which was nice. The garnish added inside the to go box is an example of the love & care put into all of their food and drinks. Juice had a very good balance of ingredients and flavor. Definitely recommend!

Google
I came to visit DC and stumbled across this amazing gem! During my short stay, I ordered everything off the menu! I just had to try it all! I was astounded at how delicious it all was and I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff there. Fertari, the person behind all this is such an inspiration. He has many years of expertise in the raw food movement, and it really shows! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your wisdom with me. I had such an amazing experience- It was the highlight of my trip! Thank you! I will be coming back for more!

The fresh pressed juice was delicious. The “crab” wrap wasn’t for me but glad it’s an option for people on a raw diet. Excited to come back for more!

Drove from Baltimore to taste the most delicious salad ever!!! We also ordered pizza and Mac n Cheese. This place is worth the traffic!

Yelp
Went here for the first time ever yesterday and cannot stop thinking about it! THE FOOD AND THE JUICE IS AMAZING. I would go here all the time if I could, but I don't live around here. I will definitely be back though when visiting. I got the sugar cane and coconut juice mix, the BBQ tacos, the living fries & mac n cheese. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
If I could give Cane & Coconut TEN STARS, I feel it would still be an understatement. First, the staff is always good energy. They greet with a smile and you will never feel rushed inquiring about the menu and all the seasonal fruits, juices, and other vegan treats. My favorite menu item hands down are the kelp noodles. They are creamy, soft -- and delicious. At one point I had to call ahead to make sure they had any left because that's just how good and popular they are -- the sellout! Other faves include their raw pizza and hemp burger. No processed mock, processed ingredients and that pizza channels all the notes that I enjoy in a traditional pizza! Don't ask me how they do it. ;) Aside from the raw entrees and sides, they also sell "exotic" fruit you can't find at your neighborhood grocery as well as cold pressed, FRESH juices. Follow them on social media so you can see the deliciousness in which I speak of. We are approaching a new year, if you want to detox and start eating a cleaner diet, check them out. Vegan/plant based doesn't have to be boring. This spot will prove why!

Yelp
Walked in here after touring an apartment in Petworth. I was super curious about what this business was and it was so good! They have a couple options for food but I mainly went for the drinks. You could get sugar cane juice, coconut water or a mix of both. I got both and my friend got a coconut water. The two people working were nice and quick. They have a rewards program. It was $12 for a 32 oz mix of the sugar cane and coconut water were there added some chunks in. Then the coconut water was $9. No sitting room inside but a small table outside but Petworth has a lot of places in the area to go relax.

Yelp
This was a nice experience. This raw vegan restaurant has a lot of flavor. The Mac and cheese pizza was tasty. The plantains, cauliflower and kale was really good as well. As a meat eater I enjoyed this restaurant l. In 2023 one entree and 5 sides is about $25 which is a good price. The coconut water was also tasty. Everything is fresh. They also have sugar cane fresh Caribbean (coconut, watermelon, sugar can, tumeric, ginger and other fruit I have no idea about) They also sell seamoss gel. The owner has awesome customer service. There isn't a seating area so have plans to eat at home, park or car. You can park in the laundry mat 's parking lot. You can also use Apple Pay Will be coming back.

Yelp
Love how Cane & Coconut uses high quality ingredients. I ordered their month long meal prep and they delivered to my doorstep in Southern Maryland. Great variety of food options, and loved the fresh coconut water.

Yelp
I seen this spot as I was driving up Georgia Ave and I wanted to stop. I went back to work yesterday and was going to get a latte but made a U-turn to go here. I was happy that I did go here instead. So we tried the crab coconut (the crab was coconut meat) it was good but a different taste and texture for me. I give them a 8.5/10. I got the fresh sugarcane coconut juice and it was amazing 10/10. I would definitely go back for that. It was very refreshing. This place is very small and they're busy but in a good way. One guy drove four hours and another lady was giving us recommendations and telling us how she enjoy everything there. The service spectacular! I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
The Live Burger was amazing and the food variety for Raw Vegans was just something I've never seen before. The service was great and helpful, answering all my questions, but I really loved the island feel of the restaurant and the ambiance of the place.

Yelp
The juice is good but the food is too salty, and it smells like they have been smoking marijuana in there. I saw a rat outside the building on the way back to my car...typical D.C. They are lost without Khepra's Juice Bar food, which made up their menu. So now they don't offer pizza, ran out of desserts, and just have exotic fruits in the fridge. I might stop in for juice if I happen to be in D.C., but I would not SPECIFICALLY go to D.C. to visit this restaurant again. Everything os overpriced, and I ended up tossing the food, because it was inedible. $70 down the drain.

Yelp
tl;dr: Super fresh drinks on the pricier side, but they make the drinks straight from the ingredients right in front of you! Coconut Water - 4/5: Coconut water made straight from the coconut right in front of you and you are also given the flesh. Nothing else is added to the drink for $9. Watermelon Drink - 4/5: Watermelon drink also made straight from the watermelon. We were told that there was nothing else added to it, and if you love watermelon, then that's what you are going to get!

Yelp
Cane & Coconut ahhh! This is the BEST Raw Vegan spot in DC! The coconut crab tacos and cheesecake are my favorites! The staff is always so nice & helpful and I appreciate they're zeal & passion for health and wellness. It's always positive energy when I enter this Divine space. Also I love the scent of Palo Santo as it's burnt sometimes in the store and the variety of exotic fruits they offer! The fact that this Black Owned store is located on Georgia Avenue supporting others in their journey to a healthier lifestyle is so profound. They're a staple in the community & I give thanks for them. Please come and support this business! They're amazing

Yelp
Best restaurant I know!!! I ditto another reviewers comment to say she would give 10 out of 10 if she could. Meals here are easy to digest and delicious, unlike some other prepared raw foods that I've tried. There is a wide variety of snacks and juices, with the salad flavors being amazing too. Prepared with my best health in mind, I have learned so much!

Yelp
I stopped by this establishment 3/15/24 ordered two orders of what I thought were the plantains I've ordered under Khepras $$.00 I'll leave out the first two digits ‍ anywho reached home they were not. Yes it put a damper on my meal we made do. Got up 3/16/24 departed SE DC reached the restaurant knowing they were not going to take them back. I was informed K. Presence was misrepresented the menu is veering more healthy menu. Well I learned a valuable lesson yesterday, today PSA No matter how long you've patronized an establishment open the container before you depart. Yes it's my fault but LESSON LEARNED.

Yelp
This is actually a hidden gem in dc. I stop here at least 3 times a week for fresh coconut water and seeded grapes. The people who run the place are so nice and so knowledgeable about the live foods lifestyle. They have a variety of delicious meals available. My favorite is the live pizza, but the tacos are amazing as well. Check them out. You won't regret it!!

Yelp
Cane & Coconut is a sugarcane and coconut water store with exotic fruit options for sale. They're a new health food store in the neighborhood that offers quality juices and some great bites. I had the pleasure of trying them out today and ordered the coconut water with fresh sugarcane juice. It was incredibly refreshing and the perfect thing to quench my thirst. I loved the quality of the juice and am eager to come back and try their fresh juices on display. Definitely a must when you're in the area!

Yelp
I love the food here. Very refreshing. I typically get coconut water and the Mandingo salad. The Mandingo salad is very refreshing and provides so much energy without the heavy feeling of most foods. The sea moss dressing is tasty but offerings so many benefits.

Yelp
Lovely perfect addition to the family. VEGETARIAN FOOD IS ON POINT. I make a point of going everywhere vegetarian and this is a great - FAST - option with healthy, filling foods.

Yelp
Delicious raw vegan food! Fantastic! I went in for the first time today, set on getting the coconut crab wrap, buffalo cauliflower, and sunfried plantains. I was disappointed that all of those were not available and had sold out, but I decided to proceed and order the hemp burger, creamy collards, and curried cabbage at the suggestion of the man behind the counter (I'm assuming the owner)....no longer was I disappointed! Everything was so good! I even started to give them 4 stars because they were out of my original order, but had to change it to 5 because everything was super tasty . I will be back for the coconut crab wrap though!

Yelp
Black owned and operated in the Petworth community. I have been here several times and service has been consistently worth every penny. Ran and owned by two amazing black men who really embody black excellence . Exemplary service given with care and loving kindness. Fresh ingredients used and worth every penny. Brought my Caucasian friends here from California, they were very kind and patient with them. They cut the coconut and sugar can right in front of you for your drink orders. Try the coconut water and the fresh jackfruit it's amazing! Excellent spot for vegans! Love the Siete chips and joule bars. There are tons of little vegan snacks.

Yelp
Great customer service and selection of natural products, especially the cane juice. I will be making this my go to spot for the juice.

Srobs C.

Yelp
I am overjoyed by being able to buy seeded watermelon! They offer delivery as well, maybe next time. I also enjoyed fresh sugar cane juice. I haven't had this since I was in the Caribbean. I look forward to trying some of the vegan options.
