This is definitely the place to stay in Canterbury if you want proximity to the cathedral! ||We had a view of the cathedral tower from our room, somewhat obscured by the tree in the garden. The room was compact but seemed efficient, although the wall lamp above my side of the bed didn't work at first (there were enough light switches that it took a while to figure out that none of them turned it on). The light was fixed by the next day. There’s a power panel above the desk with four outlets and four USB ports, so we were in good shape for charging electronics.||The breakfast room is a little on the small side, so we were given a time that we were to be there for breakfast. Tea, coffee, juice, porridge, cereal, and continental-style items came quickly, but most of the breakfast service was egg dishes cooked to order. On our first morning, we weren't sure our eggs Benedict and eggs royale were going to be delivered in time, since we had an appointment to get to and the service seemed slow. It did seem like our order had gotten lost. On subsequent days, we did not have this problem, so perhaps it was just a one-time glitch in the kitchen.||My main quibble is that the bathroom, while quite efficient, was just a little bit too small. It was awkward to reach for a towel from the shower. On the positive side, the heated towel warmer was wonderful.
