Moving here, I was thrilled to have a local market – a place to grab immediate needs and chat with neighbors. Prices weren't the lowest, but the selection was decent for quick trips, not full grocery hauls. Plus, the staff was friendly, and it was close by. They usually had what I needed in a pinch. However, things shifted after the transition to Gus'. While some fantastic staff members from before remain, the new hires seem less engaged. The helpful vibe changed to indifference, with some cashiers prioritizing personal conversations over customer service. The selection somehow seems even more limited now. Prices remain about the same, but the prepared food quality has significantly declined. It's a shame – Gus' transformed a charming market into just another impersonal "faux lux" San Francisco store.

Ordered from the deli in the back of this market. Let's break it down. Food quality is excellent. The sandwiches were tasty, the broccolini was so flavorful. We got good quantity and quality for our buck. However, it did take a pretty long time for our sandwiches to be made. We stood around for a long time just waiting for our food. We ordered some of the dishes displayed at the counter, and asked for them to be heated up since we wanted to eat immediately. The person helping us looked confused (maybe most people bring the premade food home to heat it themselves?). They microwaved it but I could tell the bottom of the box was still cold so we asked to reheat it to which they did. Then it was nice and hot and good. All in all there were some struggles but ultimately we enjoyed our meal. I'd come back and try out more of their food and sandwiches.

Google
I give this response in regards to this store carrying Zum Bar soap at $7 a bar.... I went on Amazon and found the same soap bar at $3 and 4 packs for $22. The place is severely overpriced... I also found that a season chicken breast is going for $13. For one breast rubbed in lemon pepper. Plus points of the store is produce is a good selection, and same for cheese. The place sells itself on the nook neighborhood store aspect... That's it. Please correct your prices Zum bars in the store, are sold directly next to the produce, if anyone is interested.

Delicious made-to-order and grab-n-go sandwiches made with high quality ingredients. The steak and onion hot sandwich is my favorite with savory steak, caramelized onions and provolone toasted on a superbly crunchy and chewy french baguette. The Dijon mustard really puts the flavor profile over the edge. My partner really loves the turkey bacon hot sandwich and asks for it on a baguette. Once you place your order at the deli counter, you get a ticket to go pay at the register and then you wait for your order to be made. The wait can be around 5-10 minutes if it's around lunch time so if you need a faster option I would recommend the ready made sandwiches located above the soups just around the corner from the deli counter. The drink selection here is also really fun with interesting options I don't see elsewhere.

Google
Friendly Staff, Organic food items and the customer service of staff is very good. There's a variety of items to choose from and some items were on sale. I have been to this store 3 times over the past few months and everything I have bought has been well worth it. Great Quality food items!

Google
Very cute shop with a lot of great products. The deli was really cute and I was told to get a sandwich there. While the toppings on the sandwich were great, the bread seemed overcooked and was extremely hard and hard to bite into. Other than that I have no complaints for this location. There’s some street parking since it’s on the corner, and the staff was super helpful and nice.

I had a great experience with this place. A friend of mine lives nearby, and lost a parent. They only deliver on Mondays and Fridays, but the manager, Michael, not only took my order himself, but agreed to drive it to my friends house personally. He went the extra mile without even knowing me. Overall, this place is 5+ stars.

Google
I know this supermarket very well and I like it very much. When in the city, I shop here several times a week. Fresh produce is the specialty: meats, fish, fruits, greens, cheeses and fresh dairy are all excellent. Compared to the nearby Whole Foods on Ocean Avenue, the fish is far better cleaned and better tasting. At WH the fish is never clean of scales, no matter how I ask. The meats at Canyon are beyond comparison - especially the beef and lamb. Chicken is the same brand. Cheeses are wrapped in foil that can be opened without tearing and reused repetitively. I wish Whole Foods took note: I get frustrated with WH’s exceedingly sticky labels and exceedingly flimsy foil. Canyon also has a great choice of high-end milks, including glass bottles and unpasteurized milk. Fruits and veggies are often better than at farmers markets on Allemany (Sat) & Stonestown (Sun). I don’t buy produce from Chile and Peru due to water waste, but California’s stone fruits are particularly stellar here, during the local season. The same goes for salads, heirloom tomatoes and mushrooms. Grapes are another example where Canyon is above everyone else: they regularly sell Candyfloss and I’ve bought Ladyfingers here at occasion. From non-perishable items, the wine selection stands out. It always contains an unusual and courageous find. As a wine collector, I almost never buy wine in supermarkets, but I’ve made a couple of exceptions here. Always with success. This review wouldn’t be complete without a comparison to other Gus stores. I most often shop at Harrison and the Canyon store is far above and beyond the quality and selection available at other Gus markets. I encourage all quality- and health-focused people to pursue their culinary path with Canyon and to leave a $5 donation when checking out.

Yelp
Justin was very helpful and knowledgeable. He recommended the best bottle of gin I've had in a long time. Can't wait to get his next rec!

Yelp
Canyon Market is our neighborhood "fancy food" store. A great place for specialty items that can elevate even a basic meal. If you are on the go or want the work done for you, the deli, prepared foods, and cheese assortment offer a huge selection. Staff and service are top notch.

Jason D.

Yelp
I always come here after work to buy sandwiches and groceries, but each time I order a $14 sandwich, IT IS ALWAYS MESSED UP. I always order a #55 and ask to remove the mustard and mayo from the sandwich because I am severely allergic. I come home eager to eat my sandwich and find out it has a whole bunch of mustard and mayo inside after I specifically asked to take it out. This is absurd.

Sara M.

Yelp
We normally love this place. The week of this past holiday, we bought a pork tenderloin. When we opened it our entire kitchen stunk from it and the meat was turning rancid. Checked the expiration and it was still within the acceptable timeframe. Someone packaged rancid meat. We tried calling and emailing to no avail. Guess we lost $10 on bad meat. Unfortunately we didn't take a picture because the smell was so bad I asked my husband to take it out immediately. Check the meat you buy thoroughly. Especially if prepackaged. So disgusted by how bad this was. I've never experienced this before.

Marie D.

Yelp
This is an amazing small city market. The merchandise is top quality and super fresh. There is a section for candles and small gifts, and one for toiletries and medical products. There is a significant selection of alcohol: wines, ciders, and cocktails. Fresh vegetables, meats, dairy, baked goods, and FLOWERS! A staple store here.

Jayne N.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood market in Glen Park. It's so nice to be able walk there from my house -- since parking can be a challenge.

Candace R.

Yelp
I'm so surprised this spot doesn't have more reviews! My bf and I are often in the area and will swing by canyon market for snacks and/or drinks. They have a nice variety of beers/ciders/wine and you can find a lot of essentials and specialty items in the market. It's not 5 stars for me because I prefer to get my produce elsewhere because of cost, but that's not always possible. Ex: a bunch of celery was ~$5/lb. I think I'll be going here more often though because meat prices are getting higher and I find their quality of meats, availability and price point to be very reliable. I haven't seen chicken wings at Safeway or Trader Joe's for a few weeks and I picked some up here today for $5.99/lb. Chicken thighs were 7.99/lb and last week I paid $11.99/ for the same at Safeway. They have a breakfast bar and serve sandwiches. My bf couldn't believe that his sandwich today was from there, he thought it was great. There's also eclectic selection of candles, incense, housewares, etc. I personally couldn't do all of my grocery shopping here but I'm always happy with what I get.

Adam O.

Yelp
I love this market, and I'm leaving this review because I wasn't able to leave a voicemail at their phone line and they had no listed email. I was just in the market picking up dinner and a craft beer and the person who restocks the beverages was clearly bothered by my presence and my short time in the drink section. They got very close to me while restocking and I could clearly hear them mumbling " fucking drug addicts" over and over again. We all have bad days but I left feeling pretty uncomfortable, i may be wrong about him being bothered but he was clearly mumbling about drug addicts very close to me. I'm sure they're a wonderful person and I don't want them to be fired or even reported, I understand how hard retail can be having to put up with people all day. Just left me feeling pretty anxious, I hope this falls on understanding ears.

Yelp
Canyon Market was recently purchased by Gus's and I have been so impressed with both what hasn't change and what has. As a local, I am in the market multiple times a week, and I love that they've kept so much in place from the OG market, down to the pumpkin puree lattes and delicious sandwiches. But I also appreciate the new items, like the Barebottle IPAs and the crunchy, yummy Gus's branded nuts. Please never do away with the incredible red trout! We eat it twice a week. Would welcome the Gus's ranch (like in the Haight) at this location (omg it's so good). Also love the yogurt selection! This market makes this neighborhood. Grateful for it every day!

Yelp
I like this market but was irritated by the manager, when I found cookies with todays date (so they were expired) and I asked her if I could buy them half off, she gathered all the packages up and said NO, she had to save them for the cook... that makes no sense... Upon reflection - did she want them for her self ?? By the way I did buy the shortbread cookies instead, dipped in chocolate, 4 cookies for $8.00, the price is fine but they had no flavor, and were hard! -Terrible, Please taste your product- (they were the markets own product ) and price accordingly ...make your customers happy!!

Angela M.

Yelp
Popped in looking for something to satisfy my chocolate craving. There was a table of chocolate in front of the entrance (to the left of the front register). I picked up two selections, one familiar with the peanut and chocolate combination and the other a Russian bar that appeared slightly unique in flavor composition. The Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups made in Little Havana AVOID!!! For $8 they taste artificial and grainy, nothing about the cup translates quality. Four mini bite sized cups for $8 is fine if the quality is there and with these they are not. The Rozsavolgyi Csokolade chocolate bar, composed of candied cocoa nibs soaked in palinka in seasoned dark chocolate, is heavenly. Each bite is velvety and lingers on the palette in the most pleasant of ways. This bar would pair well with a Merlot or Cabernet and strawberries if it's to serve as a dessert or night cap. The store itself is quaint and confined, offering a selection suitable for its size and unique in options. I did not venture down any aisles but the fruit I could see from the front is seasonal and the flowers vibrant. The cashiers did not greet me, nor did they say anything during my extended transaction as they were unable to locate the price of the peanut butter cups. I was provided my total, offered a bag and a receipt during the transaction, and in absence of a thank you I received a smile.

Yelp
This is a great place to shop if you're looking for high quality snacks or if you're trying to up your charcuterie board game! They have a great selection of house made dips and spreads - I recommend the smoked salmon spread ($11.99/lb). Lots of cheese to choose from but I'm pretty sure the Parmesan ($21.99/lb) they sell here is the same one at Whole Foods - LOVE IT! They have homemade chips with cinnamon & sugar. I always be sure to grab a couple bags. Located across from Glen Park Bart

Yelp
Pie needs to come with alarms to notify you to stop eating!! Yummy Great service And they also have smaller pies get their early.

Yelp
Let's just get this out of the way... Canyon Market is expensive. Like make your wallet cry....EXPENSIVE. It makes Whole Paycheck seem like a bargain market. BUT, it's one's choice to shop at Canyon Market or go elsewhere so pricing has no bearing in my rating. Canyon Market has been a staple neighborhood market in the Glen Park area for over 15 years. It's like a hipsterless Bi-Rite. I've been coming here on and off but more regularly during the pandemic. I visit for convenience when I need to grab several items on my way home. Also, gotta support your local businesses! With the mask mandate listed, some staff still wear masks (mainly the cashiers). (+) Nicely curated market with produce, butcher counter, charcuterie, cheese, housebaked bread, prepared foods + made-to-order sandwiches (catering available), bulk goods, booze (beer, wine, spirits), coffee bar, and health & beauty section. (+) Locally-owned brands and small-batch products. Love being able to get Misir Wot and Injera from a local SF business. (+) No crazy long lines during off-peak hours. This was a big plus during the height of the pandemic. (+) Easily accessible via public transportation; right across from the Glen Park Bart Station. (+) Curbside pick-up and local delivery available. (-) Very tight aisles. Unless you want to touch booties, you may need to move out the aisle in order for someone else to pass through. (-) Expensive; high mark-ups for some national brands. Ex. 1 gallon of Martinelli's Apple Juice is $17.99 vs $11 at Safeway, and Aidell's Chicken & Apple Sausage is $9.79 vs $5.99 at Safeway. (-) Some staff are unnecessarily rude. As in, they'll ignore you when you need help at the deli/butcher counter, then get annoyed that they have to help you. I'll say, "Hi, how are you", "Please", "Thank you", and "Have a good night", and get a blank stare. It's SF so no parking lot. If you shop during off peak hours, you shouldn't have too much of an issue finding street parking on Wilder and walking down. Overall, a 4 star upscale, neighborhood market. But, I have to take off a star for my most recent experience. Up until then, customer service has been decent but my encounter with the staff being rude for no reason has me rethinking about returning. P.S. - Thank you to the kind lady staff who offered to move a dog tied outside unsupervised to a more secure location. The owner refused, saying, "the dog will be ok". *SMH* esp after the dognapping incident at The Good Life in Bernal.

Yelp
This grocery was my favorite grocery for years, it was like a mini Rainbow Market and I was willing to pay a bit extra for the quality. Since turning over to Gus's it feels more like a Safeway. Far less organic produce and the wine selection, variety and descriptions have tanked. The only thing that keeps me coming back are the kind staff and the premade food, which is amazing. Hope they can turn it around.

E C.

Yelp
This is my favorite little SF market. Great selection, rarely crowded, pretty easy parking and awesome selection of delectable goodies. Also the staff are very friendly, especially if you become a regular and help them bag (as any polite grocery shopper should).

Andrea T.

Yelp
Ok, I have a favorite thing to get here now, so it's time to bump up the rating. I like getting the bagel with cream cheese because I can add free toppings to it such as tomato, onions, and cucumber. They have seating outside by the entrance, and it's nice to sit there on sunny mornings to eat my bagel. Their coffee is excellent but pricey. I also like getting their curry chicken sandwich to eat at the nearby park, but they run out of it a lot. I don't buy my weekly groceries here but if I need a few items to make a sandwich or saIad, I would get them here because the location is so convenient.

Sharon Z.

Yelp
First off...I totally agree with my fellow Yelpers..Kennedy R. and Candace R. that the sandwiches are phenomenally delicious!!! Their sandwiches along with any of the deli selections are always on point. Fresh and yummy to the end! :) I..too..am surprised that with many people that come to Canyon Market should have more reviews?!!? :( So I do hope..me being the third review Yelper can bring luck to more other Yelpers to please take the time to give your reviews! And whoever does read this..please come by and try their awesome sandwiches..the soups there are great too! Literally everything is very good there! I will be honest to say it isn't cheap..prices there are to be expected for the growing economy! But it's worth to go there anyways especially if it's your first time to visit!?! Check this place out! The Glenpark area like the other businesses are wonderful! It's like your own little shopping place where good people who work there and live nearby are family! ;) Lastly..I do hope you go check out the sandwiches..soups..deli area..they have fresh coffees they sell there too better than Starbucks! Lol! :) I really appreciate the ladies that work whom I gotten to know like Bri..Julie.. & Paula..very helpful..great customer service with a smile is very much appreciated! You feel loved and welcomed every time I go there!!! They make my sandwiches with lots of love and care..Thank you ladies!!! The cashiers I know as well..are great! Sorry..but some cashiers need a little help on being courteous and lack a smile sometimes! A sincere SMILE and A WARM HELLO goes a looong way!!!! Other than that..I truly enjoy along with my honey love coming here to support our local grocery store! Great Job!! :}

K. C.

Yelp
Great sandwiches, convenient location, and a decent selection of 'upscale' grocery items. Prices are a not exactly cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Corey H.

Yelp
A good variety of fresh healthy produce and meat along with prepared foods like soup, and tons of deli salads. Also dairy, shampoo. A full but tiny, fancy grocery store. Not cheap, but high quality and healthy. We had marinated pork chops we cooked at home that were a delight!

B H.

Yelp
Where's the egg in this breakfast sandwich? Served cold for $8.15. We used to order this all the time but forget it now.

Nino L.

Yelp
bought a Clam chowder soup woow worst soup ever water, veggies and lots of flour. I hope the new Gus's administration. takes this more seriously for the regular costumers in the area. way more expensive than whole foods and quality is going down the drain.

Sean D.

Yelp
I called in an order for a friend who lost a parent. The manager, Michael, not only took my call personally, but agreed to drive the food to his house himself. Total experience.

Angela C.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best markets in SF!! It's small but wow! Freshest products. Incredible butcher! Fresh beautiful seafood, in house baked bread!! Drool!!! The cheeses!!! Oh my!! They also have a stellar deli. Great sandwiches, salads and ready made dinner items. I can go on and on about this spot. Coffee, desserts, specialty items, and fantastic choices of liquor. I often splurge on a good bourbon. Just go. Check it out. But it will cost a pretty penny but soooo worth it

Kennedy R.

Yelp
literally the best sandwich i've ever eaten came from this place. like i re-downloaded yelp just to write this because it had to be shared with the world. please whatever you do, never stop making that sandwich. it would be cruel to take such a wonderful thing out of existence.

Rose L.

Allison A.

Yelp
The changes this place has gone through are expected but the made in house food has gotten more expensive and yet are now not as good or awful. The customer service is non existent. Prices State one thing and ring up another and if one catches it upon requesting a receipt, one is told tough "do you want it or not?" The price marked/listed has been significantly different than the price wrung up 3 times for me and all three times I caught after I asked for the receipt (as I'm bagging) and has cost me 15 to 20 minutes only to be told you want it or not. Yes, the wrong priced listed but will not sell at that price. Also, was shut done due to rodents and yet chose to blame outside person, never took responsibility so is it cleaner and safe now? Honestly the convenience may draw me but the bad service, inconsistent pricing, and lack of customer service has me cautiously, possibly only showing up for the baguettes (not what they use to be and smaller but still good).

Carmen V.

Yelp
Amazing mix of Traders Joe meets Whole Foods and add a little bit pricier and your get this wonderful supermarket with lots of fresh goodies. Extremely organized, i was pretty impressed with the quantity, fresh look and appetizing aspect of all the prepared food. This place was recommended as pit stop before prepping for a hike around the area. Coffee was good and fresh orange juice like squeezed right there. Flowers too pricey but look so cute at the entrance! Worth a stop to get some snacks for your outings if in the area.

Shane S.

Yelp
Canyon Creek Market is a short stroll from Glen Park BART station. It is quite alright. There is plenty of locally grown organic produce here. Lovely salad bar & deli that features both cold & hot sandwiches. Homemade breads baked in house. Appreciate the vibe here. The staff is friendly. Worth checking out if in the area.

Brian C.

Yelp
After shopping here regularly for our own family we used Canyon Market catering for the first time, for an outdoor event at our home this weekend with ~20 guests. I grilled main courses during the event and we used Canyon catering for everything else including appetizers, sides, salads and dessert. The quality of food from Canyon was top notch and many of our guests were impressed and commented on the delicious food. Service was awesome for the pick up, prices fair, easy ordering process & food all terrific - we will be back!

Caroline P.

Yelp
Canyon is such a wonderful community market. Yes, it is pricey but the quality of everything they sell is so high and the customer service is great. The selection of meats and deli items and produce are just outstanding. And their housemade breads and salsas and spreads are great too.

William H.

Yelp
Arguably BEST grocery store In SF! They have 'everything' under the sun for gourmands, including eclectic, often hard to find gourmet recipe items. I also absolutely LOVE their well-stocked deli with loads of prepared dishes, which are fresh and bursting with vibrant and delicious flavors. The staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly and professional. Safety measures and cleanliness of this shop are top notch. Ilene are so blessed to have such an incredible local grocer in the neighborhood.

Yoon W.

Yelp
I was getting coffee down the street then I just want to look! So I got in there. I really didn't expect much before I get in there. Really, nothing. But I was surprised by their selection of everything. It is weird to even rate grocery store personally when you consider they just sell that manufactured. However, this place has an healthy cooked meal section like Whole foods but looked way better than even whole food! So I tried sesame noodle and it was good. Like cold chowmein? But good. I liked it. Lamb curry! It was more like Tomato stew I would say with kick of Cardamom. I personally hate cardamom So I didn't fully enjoy it but it cooked really well. The price on the lamb curry was sad because the vegetable and sauce it pretty heavy I think so that it was really small but was over $9.. like one burrito... or even almost one order of Chicken tikka masala curry.. or Green curry. I think the price need some sort of adjustment on that I think. Mine had one piece of meat and bunch of carrots and potatoes. Chicken Enchilada pie? I am not 100% sure of the name I asked them to hit up but it was still cold in the middle.. :( i wish I had a microwave in the car. Anyway the flavor was pretty good wish there was more enchilada sauce over it it felt dry after all. But it was good! The thing I liked about this place is they make stuff out of all the fresh stuff then gives us feeling of homemade. I wish this store around my home that I could enjoy the same hype. I passed the whole selection of salsas, next time I will probably try those selection.

Arlene C.

Yelp
Where else can you get a pint of delicious lamb & rice soup for $5.99? The soup is simple with premium ingredients and lamb that is unbelievably tender. It's taken me from 2006 until now to appreciate this store and what it has to offer. Yes, I'm a hard sell. I went from Canyon Mkt to Whole Foods to Mollie Stones, back to Whole Foods post Amazon acquired and now back to Canyon and Gus's. Why? I have finally come to peace with the fact that they sell $10/lb cherries and that I don't have to buy it! I have also noticed that I'm finding more of my staple items on sale. Califia almond milk for $3.79. They have a decent cheese section, although unlike Gus's artisan cheeses, there is no one dedicated to school you or make suggestions. I am completely addicted to the fried chicken that is available on M, W, F. The prepared foods are my favorites & my weakness. Sure, I can pay less somewhere else, but chances are the produce may not be as consistently exquisite. The staff seems to be friendlier & more helpful than in past years, so I will continue to shop here, so don't buy up all the fried chicken!

Fiona T.

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious pesto turkey sandwich. I always come for their salad bar but they have plenty of goodies. They also had some good $0.39 cheese: koko Gouda with coconut cream

Barry H.

Yelp
Fantastic resource for Glen Park with great cheese, excellent wine and produce, top notch deli, and full butcher program. Super friendly staff - many of them consistent for years, implying it's a great place to work too.

Violet S.

Yelp
Small corner health store in Glen Park that has adorable tiny sized fruits and a good selection of coconut water. This isn't Whole Foods but many of the organic and fair trade items here make this a non-corporate neighborhood gem. This is located a block away from Glen Park BART station and it does not have a parking garage and street parking tend to be difficult in this area. I come here for unique and hard to find items like the Booch Craft - a high alcoholic version of kombucha in a can at 7% ABV Their salad bar is cold and not very impressive but the order by the pound deli is a lot more appetizing with items such as duck confit legs, broccolini, empanadas, and other exotic favorites. I don't know the short haired woman's name but she was checking me out and offered to help carry my bag to my car. Thank you for the friendliness! I gave a 4 stars review because some of the produce did not look as fresh as could be. For example, the lemongrass stalk looked brown and old. The salad bar never look enticing, I really wish that they would have some warm items other than their soups.

Yelp
REVIEW FOR SANDWICH COUNTER can in around 11:45 on a Saturday and it was super quiet. My friend and I selected sandwiches from the menu and ordered them from the deli person. He reached under the counter and found the sandwiches we'd ordered, pre made, and handed them to us. The bread had become soft and stale. The meat was all congealed into a big solid mass. It was not good at all. For $10, it was a huge disappointment. Canyon Market should consider selling made-fresh sandwiches for their $10 price tag and then have a display of pre-made sandwiches for $2 less. $8 even seems a little much for that premade sammy... so I wouldn't return for that. I do like some of their soups, but again it's all pretty steeply priced. Review for other aspects of the store I bought a bouquet of roses for $14.99 before tax and I we'll see how it goes. The same bouquet (actually, a nicer bouquet) would have been $9.99 at Safeway. So I'm hoping I'm pleasantly surprised by how much the roses open up and last long If I were totally loaded with nothing better to spend my money on, I'd shop here all the time, just to support a local business and buy all the nice quality things. Their fresh meats at their butcher counter are just insanely pricey. I've never purchased anything there. Their wine selection is nice - they've got affordable bottles as well as higher end. I do recommend checking that out.

Gabriela W.

Yelp
Look, they have the best damn old-fashioned vegan doughnuts. I can attest to this, and I'm not even vegan. And they carry the best gluten-free sourdough, Bread SRSLY. Game changer. Also, they sell Hatch's Organic Red Enchilada sauce and Pacific Organic Chicken Broth, which creates a magical base for my epic chicken tortilla soup. See photo, don't question me. Final note, the cashiers are the nicest in the city. Fast, genuine, and warm.

Yelp
The Canyon Market is a cute little neighborhood shop that not only sells knick knacks, but it also specializes in delicious sandwiches, bagels, pastries, soups, drinks and much more. We made a stop here on one of our morning walks before heading to a park nearby. My friend ordered a delicious hot chocolate and I ordered a bagel sandwich with cream cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers--my favorite combination when it comes to bagels. I also remember buying a tinted rose vanilla chapstick that I still use to this day. It was a pretty expensive shop but it had a lot of stuff that you would need that makes it easier than making the trip to a main grocery store. The place is pretty small and cramped but the quality of food and items really compensates for it. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area and support small businesses like Canyon Market! PARKING Pretty limited here

Yelp
Great neighborhood market! Like a mini Mollie Stones! Great cheese section and nice deli options. Organic and specialty items at the higher price you would expect. Friendly staff and location is right off Bart!

Yelp
5 stars for customer service and selection! I popped in the other day with the intention of getting only a few things and came out with a lot more. First stop, meat counter for sandwich meat. The guy behind the meat counter was friendly and served with smiling eyes (all employees are wearing masks). [Btw, I tried the pastrami and roasted ham (with rosemary) at home soon after and they were delicious!] I was wandering the aisles looking for a healthy sweetener. One of the employees who was stocking items saw the searching look on my face and immediately asked if he can help me. I mentioned Monkfruit sweetener and he exactly where it was and saved me precious minutes. Taking 1 star off for price -- I did not get the sweetener as it was more expensive than what I can get from Amazon.

Yelp
Over priced market with full of clueless staff! If you ask them about products info or availability, they will have zero idea and on top of that they might talk to you like "what do you want?!" Go to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's instead for better priced products and much better service!

Yelp
Amazing challah! Interesting wine selection plus lots of delectables of all sorts. Wish it were in my neighborhood!

Yelp
I love this cute little market in Glen Park! Yes, I agree this place is $$$$ (more so than Whole Foods) but please support small businesses!! The market has a variety of delicious foods you can find anywhere else. Their 'ready to go' section includes things like Ethiopian food and peasant pies - something you definitely can't find at any normal market. I also love their sandwiches and coffee bar. They make bagels until 1 or 2 pm, and you can customize with either a English muffin or bagel. They also have stamp cards for coffee in case you are a frequent visitor like me!

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a quick lunch when we stumbled across this little market. it's packed to the gills with interesting foods, yet still very organized. we went to the deli and got a Reuben, a BLT, and two cups of soup. everything was incredibly delicious and fresh. The bread in particular is wonderful. All of the staff were friendly and kind. We will definitely go back!

Yelp
I love the food bar and the sandwiches from here and you can get some non mainstream grocery items too! The fruit and vegetables are not they best - always a bit wilted. my greens beans and broccolini I purchased were old. My issue is with the check out employees. I rarely find anyone who is super friendly - they often come across as arrogant and dismissive. Today they were too busy having there own conversation to even acknowledge me! And seriously they are still requiring masks ever though all other stores are not! They are curtailing to the pretentious white neighborhood.

Yelp
This is an update to a review from 10 years ago where I'd noted having twice been given spoiled meat at the butcher counter. I did finally venture back and have not had this experience again so hopefully the problem's corrected. Overall, Canyon Market is a fantastic, albeit pricey, neighborhood grocery with an excellent selection of quality foods and pleasant, friendly atmosphere. I can't comment on their prepared foods but the meat counter seems good now and I've purchased excellent fish there. It's a wonderful addition to Glen Park!

Yelp
Just got two sandwiches at their deli. The steak sandwich has extremely tough terrible tasting steak and the Caprese sandwich had a old tomato end thrown in. The sandwiches were like $11 and stunk! Don't buy sandwiches from this rip off market.
