World-class cheeses, charcuterie, wine, and house-made mozzarella

"This specialty cheese shop carries one of the best cheese selections from around the world. Better yet, they stock up on all the fixings, including crackers, condiments, wine, and tinned fish. Grab razor clams with sea spaghetti, sardines in tomato sauce, and ventresca in olive oil, between $6 to $22 a can. There’s no better way to build a picnic than a visit to Capella Cheese." - Henna Bakshi

"In addition to a world-class selection of cheeses and meats at multiple price points, Armour Yards newcomer Capella Cheese also offers grab-and-go snack trays. Standouts include homemade mozzarella and burrata with fresh-sliced meats custom cut to the desired thickness." - Sarra Sedghi
"After more than 15 years of planning by Raymond Hook with partners Clay Jackson and Samantha Naik, this Armour Yards shop opens as a dedicated cut-to-order cheese retailer rather than a grocery counter. Led by a former Star Provisions cheesemonger, it offers world-class and everyday options including house-made mozzarella and burrata, charcuterie, and specialty pantry items. Upstairs are three climate-controlled cheese rooms—aged/hard, washed-rind/blue, and soft-ripening/bloomy-rind—engineered with a gravity-coil circulation system (no fans) that maintains humidity above 80%, plus conditioned anterooms devised with a Stanford PhD consultant to stabilize conditions. The selection spans Europe and America, from Sweet Grass Dairy and Oregon’s award-winning Rogue River Blue to an 11-year-old Parmesan aged in an underground cave and an exclusive Swiss cheese, while at least ten budget-friendly cheeses are kept at $10 a pound or $10 a piece or less. Retail also includes wine, beer, oils, spices, chocolates, and renowned Roldolphe Le Meunier butter, and an extensive e-commerce platform ships cheeses nationwide with producer, animal, and aging details. Grab-and-go cheese and charcuterie arrangements are available now (with made-to-order trays coming when the neighboring East Pole wine bar opens), and sampling is encouraged to introduce Atlanta diners to authentic, traditional cheeses." - Sarra Sedghi
