Excellent location for access to Washington, D.C. Members are friendly and helpful, excellent club house with full amenities and dinner service Wednesday thru Saturday. Right on the Wharf with abundance of restaurants and bars.

Gorgeous view! We used a small space for a work function and it was beautiful, clean, and the space was perfect. Only downside is the parking, but that’s everywhere in this area.

Very pleased with my experience here. Stayed as a transient early May, 2025. Great floating docks, protection from wind/waves, secure, highly professional and helpful staff, clean and well-maintained facilities, friendly members of community. Location is great with loads of nearby restaurants and walkable to grocery and two metro stations. I would return.

Great experience with a terrific group of people. As a visiting yacht club member from the west coast, I was treated as an honored guest. The new chef has created a stunning menu with new variations of familiar dishes, with his own signature on them. I look forward to returning soon.

Amazing location! SW Waterfront is the place to be for DC energy, events, live music, dining variety, happy hour, and beautiful waterfront sunsets. Free SW shuttle from Le Enfant makes getting there super easy. Enjoy!

As a boater in the NOVA area, I frequently travel up to the DC Wharf area. When they have space available, the Capital Yacht Club is my place of choice. Impeccably clean, professionally run, and an all around great place to stay. Love it there.

I was a visitor here with high expectations that were severely let down. The place is small with boring décor. There is just a standard bar (which isn't free so you'd be better off going to a better bar) and mostly old people sitting around talking (it is a yacht club after all). The surrounding area is much more exciting and I frankly could not wait to leave. And while most people in the club were very friendly, I encountered one very rude member who mistreated me for just being a visitor. I'll go out of my way not to revisit. You'd be better off doing pretty much anything else in the Wharf.

The Capital Yacht Club is a members only club - from what I can tell - everyone that is a member has a Yacht or boat of some sort tied up out front on the water. I have some friends that are members that now live on their boat full-time. They've sold their terrestrial home and now are full fledged modern day pirates! Anyhoo - some friends of mine got married on Saturday - and the post wedding celebration was held at the Capital Yacht Club. Before ever seeing the place - one might get the idea from the name that it is a ritzy, pretentious place - but far from it. Extremely unpretentious I would have to say. While the membership has included some well known Republican Congressmen who are now in legal trouble - it looks like most of the membership are hard-working, working class folks who have saved enough doubloons to enjoy their boats and more time on the water! The place is fairly small - it's dominated by a bar and lounge area. The place employs their own bartender - but does not serve food. They had a decent selection of beer, wine, and single malt scotch. As a matter of fact - my friends did not think their bar stocked Lagavulin 16 year old - but I asked - he checked - and they did! Yummy, peaty, delicious, lip smacking Lagavulin! For this celebration, it was a potluck of sorts - folks brought in all sorts of goodies. They have a separate kitchen area, storage, bathrooms, and a library as well. I found fee parking next door in the parking garage beneath the Phillips Seafood restaurant - $5.00 for the day.

The best place to dock your yacht when in DC. The combination of location, facilities, and access to the bar is the best.

Gorgeous Setting and a Stunning new location at the DC WHARF. Fun spot w great folks that are members there. The view from the deck is most certainly the best view at the new Wharf. Members are inviting and not stuffy..Bartenders remember what you drink.. always a good sign! Definitely will go back for a Titos and Soda!

Of all the Capital Yacht Clubs I've been too this is by far the best Capital Yacht Club! When I first went to the Capital Yacht Club I called my coworker who I was supposed to meet and asked him why I was standing in front of a building that said "Jenny's Asian Fusion" and he told me that I was in the wrong location and then everything was ok.

Strangely had more of a dive bar vibe than a yacht club. Odd. I gave it 2 stars b/c my boyfriend accidentally left his credit card there (we only had a couple drinks, no horrible behavior here). He tried calling for a couple days and they didn't pick up; went to pick it up and they didn't have it, and then finally went again to pick it up and the bartender awkwardly stood in front of him and waited for him to give him a tip? He did, but wished he'd just canceled the card and avoided all of that. Pretty tacky.

A great spot for boaters who want to be right in DC, a short walk to the National Mall and Smithsonian museums, etc. The Wharf development adds new places to eat, drink and listen to music too. There is also a hardware store and a CVS nearby. Members are friendly and the club is quite active with lots of social activities and a good bar with a great view!

The new yacht club is very small and lacks character. Members are very snobby. I don't recommend it.
