This hotel is great! It's clean and the staff is super friendly. There is delicious water, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa for refreshments available 24/7, which was much appreciated. They also serve a pretty great continental breakfast, which was great for our family! The room (2 queen beds) was spacious and had a kitchenette with a microwave, sink, and fridge. This helped save money on food and drinks during our stay! They had quality products in the bathroom. The beds were decent, although a little hard for my preferences. Overall, the stay was great! While the area was safe, the neighborhood lovely, and the hotel located close to the US Capitol and far end of the National Mall, it's not the most happening area. You may want to stay northeast of the National Mall if you want more nightlife options (although there were a few restaurants a short walk on Pennsylvania Ave). Also, it's only a 5 minute walk or so to the subway, which is great. Overall, a great hotel with helpful staff, good amenities, and clean! Would recommend!

This is a nice well-run hotel that is close to many museums and places on the National Mall. The staff is friendly and responsive, the rooms are clean and ours had a microwave, fridge, and stovetop which was a money saver and convenience. I booked through Expedia and got a parking discount. Would recommend especially for families.

It was a pleasant day. The rooms were clean and quite spacious, everything worked, and everything was nicely in place. The staff was exceptional and the valet parking which I have had difficulties in other hotels was perfect, quick and courteous. This property is highly recommended.

Rooms were really nice, honestly better than I had expected. Little kitchen area, table and chairs and really clean. Breakfast was a little lack lustre but that was fine it did us fine. Front desk service was super polite and helpful. One of the nicest hotels we've stayed at.

Front desk staff is fantastic. The free breakfast is not the best quality. There is no fan in the bathroom. The best thing about this hotel is it's location -very close to the Capitol South Metro Station, walking distance to the Capitol and the National Mall. They cleaned the room the first day, skipped the second day and housekeeping was knocking on the door at 8A on checkout day.

Positive: The price of the room of was great and it was SUPER CLEAN? ,I was traveling with my significant other but we stay in dc often. We checked in at 2am and the staff was super nice with accommodating that? Negative: We didn?t get to pick what floor we were on (ended up being on the second floor) and we had a great view of a brick wall lolAlso the bathroom door wouldn?t close all the way and it seemed like the door was about to come off the hinges.

I booked this hotel by accident, meaning to book another with a similar name. However, I ended up appreciating my stay here. The staff was incredibly kind, and the location is hard to beat. It’s right next to South Capitol metro and the Library of Congress. The breakfast is complimentary, but do be aware that they charge a nonrefundable fee of $25 a day. You also have to go outside and into their second building to get to the breakfast. The rooms were clean, and the hotel was quiet. Typically they have bikes available for guests to rent out for free, but they didn’t have any available at the time I went.

My family and I had a great experience at the Capitol Hill Hotel! The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is in a great location — a short walk to the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Capitol Building. I highly recommend the Capitol Hill Hotel!

The location for this hotel is great as it's super close to all of the sites you would want to see in Washington. You can also get lucky on the weekends and find free street parking. However, don't expect for it to be a nice high end hotel it might appear to be on their website. The lobby area is nice but the rooms looked like a bad real estate flip. Something that was done in a rush and as cheap as possible. The breakfast room was a complete mess. The way they designed this space was not ideal or they just didn't think there would be more than 6 people at a time eating there on a weekend. The food was an average free continental breakfast but people kept bumping against each other trying to make a line to get food and against those that had already gotten their food and were trying to sit and eat. Giving it 4 starts just because of service and location but wouldn't stay here again.

I booked this hotel through Priceline. The room was the Junior Suite with one Queen bed. The room was not very nice. It almost seemed like an afterthought. Like they made a room that wasn't originally a room, a room. The bathroom was incredibly small. There was no air vent and no door to the immediate bathroom; but the bathroom is connected to the closet which does have a door. ‍ I stayed on the first floor in one of the buildings---the one where you check in. Breakfast is in another one of their buildings that requires you to take a short walk outside. The bed was not comfortable and the linens were incredibly stiff. You can hear everything! I heard a guy blowing his nose. Lots of sounds and lots of doors opening which in turned caused my door to make a noise each time. The heat needed to be turned off asap because the room was overheating. I didn't turn it on at all during my stay. The rooms were clean. The breakfast included was decent(e.g. eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, and muffins mostly). This room didn't make me want to stay again at this hotel unfortunately. The website has rooms that look a lot better.

This hotel was the best part of D.C. It's literally 2-3 blocks away from The Capitol, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress. Not only that, but there's a lot of restaurants within walking distance too. The service at this hotel was top notch. We were greeted with friendly smiles everyday and every one went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome. Our 1 bedroom suite was great. So clean and there was so much room for the 3 of us. The bed was comfy, living room was huge, and there was a TV in the living room and bedroom! Also blackout curtains throughout. You can also request a free pack n' play. To top it off, they use L'occitane bath products which smelled amazing. Valet service was $50 a night but our car was brought out promptly every single day with in/out privileges 24/7. It's really the only option as street parking was nonexistent. There was a $28/night mandatory "resort fee" that included breakfast. Breakfast consisted of toasted waffles/bagels, eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereals, and juices. Basic but definitely filled our bellies adequately everyday. There was also 24/7 hot tea, hot chocolate, coffee, and fruit water in the main building which was awesome. This neighborhood is definitely very high-end, safe, and the hotel paid a lot of attention to detail to ensure an amazing stay.

Found the hotel through Google! A very convenient and affordable spot to stay. Walking distance to the Mall, the Capitol and a lot of dining options. The room was very comfortable and well appointed, the staff couldn't have been nicer. If I were to criticize anything a better coffee bar in the room would be it. Breakfast was included, although we didn't partake. I heard it was a nice buffet. We looked at a lot of hotels that were outrageous lot priced for this trip. I have to say this one was an excellent value for the price! We will stay here again!

Had to change rooms twice, wrong size bed in one, broken toilet in another. Breakfast was average at best, but they ran out of things often. No clock, hair dryer or work desk in our room. Wasn't kept very clean, elevator had the same food on the floor for two days.

Very nice hotel. We had a suite with two queen beds, dining area with table and chairs, sitting area and full kitchen. A walker can't fit through the door to the bathroom, which made it challenging to use. However, we needed a handicapped bathroom, but those rooms were not as nice. Also, no seats in the shower so not well it for us. We didn't think it was worth changing since the cost was the same as the full kitchen suite.

This hotel was a fine choice for a work trip to DC. I used to live in DC in the Capitol Hill area so I knew I wanted a hotel close to all my favorite places, but there honestly weren't that many options! It was a nice stay for the most part, but it doesn't feel like a typical hotel. Mainly because the main lobby is in a separate building than half of the rooms and then the breakfast is in the opposite building. Very odd. Breakfast was just straight up bad. I opted for oatmeal my first morning (instant packaged oatmeal) and grabbed some granola bars for snacks but otherwise didn't set foot back in there. Also the only options for bowls were also paper bowls? Super weird and feels so cheap for the price of the hotel. There are so many better options for bagels or pastries and actual good coffee just steps away in eastern market. The room and bed itself were comfortable and the location really was excellent. I couldn't figure out how to work the TV and there weren't any instructions and the towels were barely big enough to wrap around me so it just felt sloppy for such an expensive hotel. The staff was nice so I probably could have asked for help with the TV but just didn't think it was worth it for the amount of time I spent in my room, seeing I was out for most of the day. I will probably try another hotel next time I'm in town but it's a real bummer because this location is just so good.

Wonderful location and excellent staff. Extremely accommodating and friendly. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was in the building around the corner. I was a little disappointed that my TV signal didn't work. The staff tried to fix it with another TV, but it appeared to be the cable was the problem underneath the new carpet. Other than that, the place is clean, not too big, and very close to restaurants and the Capitol Hill South Metro and a stones throw to the Library of Congress buildings (The Madison, Jefferson- the one that's beautiful and The Adams. Each building has a reading room with different subjects. If you're coming to tour, you would go to the Jefferson. It has the huge reading room and very ornate. The other reading rooms are small and by subject area (The Adams has the Sciences).

The staff here is AMAZING! Super cute decor! We didn't mind walking outside the building to grab breakfast. Although there wasn't a lot of options, it was just what I needed to start my day. Also, they had quality yogurt options which I really enjoyed. I stayed here two nights. The location was perfect, there is free street parking on the weekends and it's close to major attractions. Can't wait to visit here again!

What a great hotel. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, checking in on Friday, February 16th and checking out on Sunday, February 18th. First off, the staff are just wonderful. I can only speak of the morning staff as we were gone most of the day, but there were two different gentlemen working on Friday morning, around 9:00am, and on Saturday morning, around 9:00am, and a woman working Sunday morning, around 9:00am. We had interaction with all three and they were just lovely, welcoming, helpful people! We had questions and/or concerns and they were all so very helpful and friendly. That alone is an indication of the level of service/standard at this hotel. I wish I had names, but I just want to make sure they get a call-out for exemplary service! The room was very nice - homey and super quiet. The only negative I have is the bathroom sink; the waterspout does not come out far enough, so we found that our hands were hitting the bottom of the sink while trying to wash. Besides that, we loved everything about the room. Bed was comfortable and so was the pull-out sofa we had for our teen son. The room was very clean and tidy. We had an issue with the television in the bedroom not working, and when we called front desk who sent a maintenance person up immediately to rectify the situation. We didn't realize there was breakfast included with our stay, and it was so nice to be able to grab something to eat on our way out the door. Also, they offer complimentary coffee all day as well as lovely cucumber and herb water, which was very refreshing. We definitely recommend this hotel for the clutch location, but especially for the amazing staff. I can't forget the doorman - he was wonderful!

This hotel is owned by the Shah family which they purchased for $57 million. It's hard to believe that based on the condition of this place. Here are a couple of pictures taken in my room. Although they offer a nice breakfast, the dining area is cramped and very difficult to navigate with uneven tables and very heavy uncomfortable chairs. Hotel is about 100 years old and in poor condition despite being recently remodeled. This place needs a lot more than a coat of paint and just carpets. It has that, but the structure itself is outdated and badly. The front door to my room didn't close unless you slam it shut really hard. Based on all the slamming doors I heard well throughout the night from the hallway, it appears that everybody has this exact same problem. Bathrooms are tiny and the only way to access the bathroom from my room was to go inside the closet. Total tourist trap for suckers at almost $300 per night. Won't be coming back; Neither should you.

We stayed at this quant hotel during our trip to DC. Amazing location on a tree lined street. The staff were the best. They gave us the best recommendations for places to eat. The hotel is older but really nice and clean. The serve breakfast which was decent.

Everyone is so nice here and the lobby is fantastic. Loved being able to leave my backpack here and explore the city.

My hotel room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was also good all though I did not have much. The fire alarm went off at 2:45 in the morning but it was fun! Here was my view:

Had a great two night stay. Clean room. Great coffe and water always available. Warm breakfast , waffles, eggs , sausage and potatoes. Pleanty of other things as well. Loved the neighborhood. Close enough to walk everywhere! Museums , Supreme Court, the Capital. Watched the staff interact each morning with guests. Very friendly. Car returned second afternoon with a flat. Most unfortunate. Staff very helpful. And generous. You know , stuff happens. We will be back for sure .

A Fairfield Inn, a Residence Inn best case. If you're a traveler, you understand! Breakfast is weak, no room cleaning, just basic necessities with a nice address.

Nice standard hotel with friendly staff and in a good location for tourists. I was happy with my room. I was not happy with breakfast. It was in a separate building, crowded, and the food I tried was subpar. I would come back as long as the price is reasonable, but I would have breakfast elsewhere ot just grab a bagel.

Staff held the door and moved my luggage right away. They had a polite and welcoming yet non pretentious demeanor. The lobby was pretty and comfortable for relaxing while waiting for my room. There were also many interesting places within walking distance. It was surprising to have my room be in a different building, but not too problematic as it was within a block. It was also the same building that continental breakfast was served in Honestly, continental breakfast was a bit basic, but not bad enough for me to remove a star. The room was wonderful - re-cleaned daily - fresh towels daily - comfortable beds - good shower pressure - nice soap/shampoo/conditioner/body wash - extra toilet paper when I asked - robes, umbrella and safe in closet - kitchenette with table - teabags, mugs and microwave - The sink was built in a way that made it difficult to rinse my wrists, and as I always wash them with hand washing, I ended up rinsing them with the shower Again, staff were excellent. Sean, Tiana and Abbas were the ones I found the names of. The person who delivered the extra items I asked for was also excellent. Loved that it's apparently pet-friendly, and I know others from the group did too! We didn't bring pets but the ones we saw were a bonus One suggestion - add the 24/7 coffee to both buildings. It was okay walking all two minutes to the other building for free late night coffee, but would have been even more convenient if it was in the same building.

Absolutely Superb ! From check in to accommodations you feel like royalty with 5 star hotel service and amenities. Full size kitchen with stove. Huge fluffy beds and soft bedding, great views make this hotel feel like a luxurious experience.The staff is attentive and very very helpful. The entire faculty was ultra clean and smelled great. I would surely stay here again and again.

I am currently being harassed by my ex husband Robert Workman and his co workers from this property. They keep calling my phone from the properties phone just to play around. I finally called back and confronted and of course everybody claims no call was made. I recorded every single call so I have plenty of proof. I spoke with the general manager Barry Allen who told me and I quote "Him calling me from the job phone IS A PERSONAL MATTER". He would not provide me with any management information, he would not tell me which company they are under. He said nobody is above him, which makes me believe he is in on the phone call joke as well. I have already filed my police report but there are steps to this whole thing. My final step is to file harassment for each individual employee that I have recorded. Total is four.

Recently stayed here. The lobby had a very strong perfume smell that gave me headaches. The lobby and room were very muggy and our room was especially moist feeling. DC is humid but the room was so humid I never felt like I cooled off. We asked to checkout for a refund halfway through our stay, Expedia said yes and the Hotel would not give us a refund for the remainder of the stay. Not very accommodating.

What an awesome place to stay. I was on business but had a few days to have fun with so my dog Brutus & I decided to stay in DC and see the sites since it had been a while for me. The staff at the hotel was exceptionally friendly was super friendly and accommodating. Very pleasant from the minute I walked through the door. There was no judgment at all, unlike many fancy hotels I stay at. The other guest yes, the staff no. (I get that a lot, people look at me & judge my hippie self like how I can afford to stay at these places). The hotel was very convenient to everything and very modern. It was spacious for work & relaxing. I cannot say enough great things about the staff. They were the best!

Stayed here a couple of times as it is a couple of blocks away from the Capitol Hill, the Rayburn Office Building. If you have business on the hill this is a great place to stay. The hotel is actually two buildings. One has the reception, the coffee room, rooms, and the other has the breakfast room and more rooms. The rooms are spacious with a modern interior, good (if small) bathrooms, and great internet. The rooms are relatively quiet. The breakfast is very basic continental with eggs, bread, juice, and coffee. It is an OK breakfast, but you may want to go elsewhere. They have all day coffee in the lounge / coffee room. They have serve wine 5-7 in the lounge. Great way to start an evening in DC.

So I chose this hotel because it was associated with a festival we were attending one April weekend. It was fairly close to the RFK Stadium via cab, which I was happy to see they regularly had them waiting outside the door. I actually arrived via cab and the bellman immediately took my bags as the driver unloaded my luggage. I have to say, he really took care of me the whole weekend, I wish I could remember his name, but it started with a D. He was so sweet. Check-In went smoothly and I was happy to know I'd be in the building with the check-in desk, instead of next door, less hauling my stuff. The hotel is beautiful by the way. The lobby isn't very big, and it was a bit crowded when I arrived, but everyone worked around each other. I was honestly shocked when I entered the room. I didn't know they'd give me one of the one bedroom suites. It was clean, smartly decorated, with a nice view of the street and buildings. It was SO big! I mean it was really like an apartment, minus having a stove. There was however all of the amenities you could want. Microwave, fridge, sink, real dishes, real silverware, counter space, beautiful bathroom. Which had really nice smelling toiletries to take and shared shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner attached to the wall in the bathtub. We had a king size bed, very comfortable, there was AC in the living room and the bedroom, which I loved. And a door to the bedroom in case you needed the extra quiet. They offer free wine in the evening and breakfast, although I didn't partake in either. I did, however, enjoy their cucumber water. OMG, it was so refreshing I wish I'd brought my big cup with me. The neighborhood is really great. We ate breakfast at a little dinner just around the corner twice. There were also plenty of restaurants within walking distance or you could get just about anything delivered. The metro is also a short walk away and that makes it even more accessible to anyone wishing to stay here. I would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I are repeat visitors to the District, but this time we brought my parents. We don't normally travel with my folks, so this presented a few challenges. It was their 45th anniversary. My wife & I decided to take them on a long weekend type of trip... frankly 45 years of marriage is something to be extremely proud of. We've told them that if they've got the guts to keep it going for 50, a BIG trip is in the cards. We needed a location with some specific things. We needed to be close to transportation and have solid access to Uber/Lyft pickups because no way were we renting a car and paying to park it all weekend. It needed to be close enough to the action that my parents could even walk (they are perfectly able in their mid-60s, but like MOST people of their age they do get tired after multiple days of walking) to some of the sites. This narrowed it down to a dozen or so places. We LOVED this neighborhood when we found it on our last visit in 2015. We saw the good reviews and my wife really liked the photos fellow travelers posted. The price was right and our decision was made! The Capitol Hill Hotel would be our home away from home. I was even able to email the hotel and ask for a few specific requests. They went above and beyond to make these happen. We didn't ask for the moon, just some room location requests, an hour early check-in, and a note about the occasion. PERFECT! They didn't blink and made it all happen. When we arrived everything was in order as requested AND they even gave my folks a bottle of bubbly and some treats! The staff were so nice and welcoming. They made sure we knew that they were there for any needs. The hotel is spread over 2 buildings, but we were in the main building. I'll let them keep their 5 stars... but I have a serious note for the management... YOUR DOORS ARE ENTIRELY TOO LOUD!! All of them. You could hear every person on your side of the floor because they all SLAM shut and it is annoying. The doors inside the room are too loud, also. I'm a very hard sleeper and my wife woke me up twice getting up in the night because the bathroom/closet door squeak awfully and close very loudly. This is small potatoes, but seriously needs fixed. We heard a couple of other people in the library (lighter than continental breakfast, 24/7 water/tea/coffee, and weeknight wine tastings in the library) complain of the same door thing during our visit. We mentioned it to the lobby staff and they just nodded and apologized. Back to good stuff, the beds were awesome. The pillows were awesome. The windows all have blackout shades and that was awesome, although my mom couldn't figure it out without calling me. The a/c was great and the TV was great with a large channel selection. They have ample charging options and plenty of outlets. The room was large and having the tiny kitchen was great. I'm not sure if all rooms have the kitchenette, but both of our rooms did. The Wi-Fi was strong, fast, and free. The toiletries were pretty good and nothing smelled crazy. My mom and dad had a blown bulb in their bathroom and a dead battery in the safe. We checked in, dropped off our bags, and were heading directly to lunch around the corner. On our way out we told the front desk and it was fixed before we came back. That's excellent service. Things need maintenance, but if you fix it pronto you are gold in my book. Staff A+ Location A+ Feel of hotel A+ Décor A+ Doors C- (they still worked!) We would gladly stay here again and recommend it to anyone who needs a base to do touristy stuff from. It's around the corner from a Starbucks, many restaurants, and a quick walk to the National Mall and the East End Market. There were plenty of taxis, Uber, and Lyft drivers always close by. It is only 15 minutes to Reagan airport by car or about 35-45 minutes by Metro. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the Library of Congress and Supreme Court and you can board the circulator bus there. It is about 5 minutes or so to the Capitol South Metro station which serves the blue, silver, and orange lines. Great stay!

I stayed at the hotel for three days. When I arrived at the hotel, I was pleasantly greeted by the staff. I was surprised at the room's size. It was bigger then I imagined. In the room, there was a coffee maker with great coffee, a small refrigerator, and some quality bath products. The hotel was quiet- not one sound woke me up. The hotel is in a nice spot around a residential street. Parking is a bit of a hike if you want to save some extra money and not park at the hotel. Roughly two blocks away is a Metro stop. We were able to walk to two delicious restaurants in about fifteen minutes- Eastern Market for breakfast and Ambar for Balkan food. Breakfast at the hotel was good for me, because I like granola and a piece of meat. Overall, this hotel was quiet, cheap and had great staff. I would stay here again in the future.

My husband and I spent two nights at the Capitol Hill Hotel in December, when we visited DC for our friends' wedding. This place was recommended on their wedding website, and as rates were reasonable and the location ideal, we went ahead and booked it without doing much research. We ended up spending a lot of time in the hotel--it was freezing out, and we were both sick, and as terrible as that was, I was pleased with our stay. It was one of those quick, exhausting West Coast to East Coast wedding trips--Thursday night redeye, back home just in time for bed on Sunday--and we arrived at the hotel around 9AM, hours before check-in. Service was friendly, but there were no rooms available for early check-in. We were in no shape to go walking around in a search to kill time, and were grateful for the hotel's lobby lounge, which was its own room behind the front desk--if not quite private, then a layer removed from the street and the proper business part of the common area. It was a very attractive lounge, lush in a modern way, colorful and clean, with textured wall hangings and velvety couches. We picked one of these couches and passed the fuck out, shamelessly, for hours. We ended up coming back to this lounge a couple more times. It was extremely useful, cozy and quiet, with free tea and coffee. We even brought a friend--we needed to kill a little time after check-out, and when she suggested post-brunch coffee, we thought of this convenient spot. The room was great, too--comfortable king bed, ample clean bathroom. We spent a good chunk of our trip in this room, medicating to sleep through our miserable illness. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take advantage of Capitol Hill Hotel's prime tourist location, though we did see the Supreme Court from our Uber. (The hotel was also a Pokemon gym, and I left a Rhydon that stayed in place for like two weeks, so that was awesome.) I would like to come back to DC and do some sightseeing in our capital one day, preferably when I don't want to egg the White House. I'll keep this hotel in mind when that time comes.

There was a bright light shining through window all night. If I could have found the hidden blackout shade I would've used it. For the $460 a night I expected much better customer service. They didn't refund a penny and offered no explanation where light came from. Poor customer service

Best option for almost any need related to CAPITOL hill. Stands on a corner where parotid tough but the vibe is neighborly. Nearby the metro, the stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue restaurants, eastern market, and the stretch of 8 th street called barracks row. Once you get to the hotel you are warmly greeted by friendly staff in an interior that's tidy, modern and welcoming. The rooms are medium sized but super organized and comfortable. The hallways wind around a bit but you will find your way if you believe in love. Top floor offers a nice view.

It's all about the location...right? Well...yeah...but this place has a good price point and many reasons to push a 4 star rating. I was able to get a double suite efficiency on Veterans Day for $127.00 w/free Wi-Fi. Thank you Travelzoo. A great location for access to the Mall and the The Concert for Valor. Included is a continental breakfast and the coffee was quite good. A big downside if you want to park your car....$50 bucks for valet. Yeah...$50 bucks...gulp! The other ripper gripper is there is no street parking until after 8p in this hood. Very friendly and professional staff. Close to many good restaurants on Penn Ave. Your best option is to park @ Union Station which is about a mile away.

I love this boutique hotel. My husband and I stayed here early in our relationship when we traveled to DC so that I could meet his sister, who lived in the immediate neighborhood of the hotel. It's located on what appears to be a quiet, suburban street, but is an easy drive to all of the downtown attractions and is walkable to some restaurants, too. The rooms are well-appointed, with comfortable beds and a great HVAC system. I'm not sure what it is about the combination of the bedding and the HVAC, but I slept like a baby here every night-- comfortable temperature and a bed you just sink into. They also have great toiletry products (no need to bring your own shampoo or conditioner), and some very comfortable bath robes. I literally asked my husband to find out the brand so he could buy me one of those bath robes to own!

Stayed here based on reviews and description but somewhat disappointed. We checked in and found our room was in another building down the street. Not a problem but just unexpected and awkward. Hallways on the floors were dark and walls were worn with luggage scrapes. Rooms were fine, clean, comfortable but furniture was worn, spotted and shades were difficult to pull and were damaged off the track. Large walk in closet in the double kitchen suite but the bathroom was barely big enough for one person. There was no counter space to dry hair or apply make up, overall decor was dark. First, I'm a regular L'Occitane purchaser of all their products for many years. The Capital Hill states they provide their products and shows small sample sizes on the website. In my opinion they DO NOT provide these products. The shampoo and cleansing gel products were in large refillable containers in the shower - red flag right there but I gave it a try and I don't think they're authentic products As they weren't close to the consistency or smell of L'Occitane products. Breakfast eggs and coffee was lukewarm/cold, oatmeal and breads were okay. The buffet takes place in the second building in one room that got very crowded and seating was a premium. Anytime after 8am on sat/sun and u may not get a seat or plate (plates and silverware ran out). Also, La Colombe coffee is advertised and I live in a city where I frequent a La Colombe cafe so again I'm very familiar with their coffee and this coffee didn't taste the same. I could deal w the previous annoyances as the beds were comfortable and clean but when it hits your pocketbook I really have to think twice about coming back. Finally, upon check out we were advised of the $18 nightly amenities fee. Perhaps I should have done my HW because I wasn't aware this was an extra fee. It was described as a fee for the "free wi-fi", coffee and wine reception (which are advertised as complimentary)! So, even if I use my own data and don't take part in anything "complimentary" I am responsible for the fee. This I didn't like and really felt like I was being gauged for literally things that are advertised as complimentary! It's for this reason and the numerous other disappointments that we probably not being going back.

We only stayed 1 night, but we're super happy with our stay. Very clean and chic. Impressive lobby and lounge; and the lobby smelled SO good. Our room was cozy and bigger than expected after reading the other reviews. We had a Jr King Suite that had a mini fridge, sink, microwave, and digital thermostat that was much easier than messing around with a stupid knob for room temp. They had bikes available to borrow as well. Continental breakfast was nice and included muffins, pastries, bagels, breads, cereals, eggs, and sausage, amongst other things that I saw. Pastries and sausage were very tasty (that's all I tried). Coffee was good, and they had to-go cups out as well for the road. We did the park and stay package, and it was more than worth it. We just pulled up to the docking area and they took care of the rest. The staff and attention to detail were excellent. Every employee was super nice and welcoming, and let us know they will take care of everything. I know that's what hotels are suppose to do, but there was something intangibly wonderful about everyone's attitude here. What stood out the most was that I let them know in passing that we were traveling for our anniversary. Later, we came back to such a sweet and unexpected surprise with personal note in our room. Also, several staff members wished us a happy anniversary throughout our stay! It's the little nuances that matter, and they are doing it right. Thank you so much, Capitol Hill Hotel! Very friendly hosts at front desk. I love the modern furnishings. However. The hotel still seemed a little dated. Or as if the recent renovation, ON A BUDGET, was done. Also, the hotels AC didn't work and they didn't know when it would be fixed. We were sweating the whole night.

Guest laundry, 12 noon check out, happy hour, fitness center, open 24/7 so good for party people, centrally located, L'Occitaine bath products, conplimentary breakfast until 10 am on weekdays, 11 am weekends. .

We stayed here for 3 nights,the staff was wonderful and very helpful, the beds were amazing,very close to all the attractions,2 blocks from the Capitol located in a very nice neighborhood with great restaurants nearby walking distance. Taxis and Ubers near by. at $283 a night compares well to others in area.

They call it the Capitol Hill Hotel because it is right there, mere inches from the lairs of our elected representatives. I liked it very much, for the enchantingly comfortable bed, the good desk to work at, the view of the cathedral from my window. Good staff, warm and responsive! The most charming thing was that they offered gratis bikes to ride. Big, heavy red, honking things. It was so much fun to trundle from the hotel to the Lincoln Monument on mine! And the very nice man who helped me unlock it and adjust the seat. And warned me I could get a ticket for riding after dark without a light. So I felt like a stone outlaw, rare for me. They offer water for dogs outside the front door, I like that. Noise was a bit of a problem. It is actually possible to build or remodel hotels so they buffer out a lot of ambient noise. This one, boutique, fun, charming, did not take that step. Had loud, nocturnal, and gregarious neighbors. Complained, and the desk guy was lovely about it, and they did pipe down a bit. But it was hard to rest there, and it was a working trip. Odd to need to go out into the street to reach the breakfast area. Nice breakfast, though. Appreciate getting Washington Post instead of the bland USA Today. Many food options nearby, very walkable, also near the Metro. Easy to get around from there. I'd go back, probably.

Really nice rooms. Friendly staff. Great location 1 block from metro, 1 block from the capitol. Lots of eating options nearby. Good price.

Clean and modern. Was impressed by speed of service, and the free cookies, apples, coffee and tea. Also the Washington Posts all over for free. Comfy bed, sheets and towels-- especially for the price. LOVE the L'Occtaine products, and even more that they are earth-friendly in bulk sizes built onto the shower. A little crammed in the bathroom, but the room was large. Cons were that the cordless phone was weird and I couldn't really figure out how to use it, and also the walls are thin and doors don't go all the way to the floor, so if you want quiet, then get a room far from elevator.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was very nice. The location is great, one block from the metro, a few blocks from the capitol and a bunch of other sight seeing buildings (too many to name here) and its also a 20 min walk to the Navy yard. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is really pretty and quaint. There are lots of restaurants and coffee shops around the area. The hotel itself looks exactly like the pictures online. It had a sleek and modern environment with a wine hour from 5-6pm on week days. They had one red and white selection. Every guest gets one free glass during this wine hour. The Continental breakfast was great! We stayed in the main building and had to walk to the east building next door to enjoy it but it's not far, worth the walk. There is a wide selection of foods. If you don't want to go to the east building, there are also options in the west building: bread, granola bars, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fresh fruit. This hotel is pet friendly (bones for them at the entrance) and the staff was very helpful to everyone and very informative. The staff were literally helping people left and right, they were outstanding. Jesse helped us out a lot while we were there and it went completely out of this way to give us a better experience in DC. We would definitely stay here again.

I had family in town stay here for 2 nights. The rooms themselves were fine, quiet and pretty clean. The issue that I have is the B*&^Sh*% "resort fee" that they charge. The hotel advertises one price and then they have an additional fee of over $20 per night as a "fee". This allows them to advertise a lower the room rate, on top of which, they tax. It's really a very dishonest practice. I'm not suggesting that the hotel isn't worth the money, or even the total with the additional fee is unreasonable, but it's underhanded and it does not feel good. Even the man checking my family in agreed that the practice was crumby, and they were taking their influence from hotels in South Beach, Miami. The breakfast is good, but it's way too crowded. The lobby attendants are nice and helpful but none of that matters if I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

I've been in DC frequently for business lately. Today I was looking for a good, affordable hotel near the courts. I found this hotel, and while checking out the fees and taxes, accidentally booked on Hotels.com for a non-refundable night. The app would not let me reverse the transaction, and Hotels.com wasn't able to either, even though I tried to fix it immediately. I called the manager at the hotel and he reversed it, no questions asked. I'm so impressed by how easy and friendly they were. I'll definitely be staying here for my business going forward. This type of customer service makes the difference because business travel is already stressful.

Nice, modern, and simple. We found this place through HotelTonight for a Thursday night on Cherry Blossom Weekend. Definitely worth the price we paid for the night (145, maybe? it was something relatively cheap!) Also, while we were there, they had a random party with h'orderves and free wine! Can't be beat.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! My husband and I did a total spur of the moment hotel booking after the Nats game last Friday. And this hotel is just stunning. We enjoyed ourselves so much. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets and comforter were probably the best I have slept on in a while. It is very convenient to the metro and in such a beautiful location! If you are looking for a place that isn't surrounded with all the chaos, this is the place to go! Even if you live in the area like my husband and myself and just need a date night away from home - this place is the spot!

I stayed here for a business trip a couple of weeks ago, and overall it was a very positive experience. The pros: --location is great: only a few blocks walk from the Mall, and just a minute's walk from the Capitol Hill South Metro station, which makes it easy to get anywhere. The neighborhood is very pretty and felt safe. --Rooms are nice, large and well-appointed. The bed was oddly tall, but very comfortable. The room came with a fridge, a microwave and an extra sink. For a longer stay, being able to save leftovers and use the microwave would have definitely been handy. If you need to get work done, the desk is nice and there's actually a comfortable desk chair. The TV is a decent-sized flat-screen and they have HBO. You can even check out DVDs at the front desk if you have time and are so inclined. --Quiet neighborhood, and as far as hotels go there seemed to be plenty of insulation-- I didn't really hear my neighbors. --The front desk personnel were all very nice and helpful. --Wi-Fi is free and seemed pretty reliable. The cons: --the breakfast was kind of a let down. There were a lof of pastries and some fruit and yogurt, but not a whole lot of protein options other than a slightly scary-looking mystery meat. If your room is in the main building you have to walk outside to get to the breakfast, which isn't far at all but no fun in the rain. --the fire alarm went off for about ten minutes in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. Not cool, especially when you have a meeting to get to before 9 AM and are already time zone confused. I would be happy to find myself staying at this hotel again.

First time staying in D.C. so when we got to the room we immediately started getting ready for the night ahead. Check in was at 3, we arrived closer to 5, so first we headed to get some food and drinks and then see what the nightlife was like. I can tell you it wasn't much haha, but it was a Wednesday so I can't be too surprised. As far as the room goes, it's super functional and cute. I loved it honestly and the bathroom was clean. The beds were pretty big and very soft, there's water in the room available to you for $5 a bottle. And men they have a cheap shaving kit for $10. The shampoo,soap, and conditioner is separately dispensed which is super convenient because there's never enough in those tiny bottles they usually supply at hotels. The room we got was in the second building they own which is very inconvenient as we found the ice machine was in the initial building and not ours. We called the front desk 4 times for assistance but no one answered the call so my girlfriend had to walk over just to get the correct WiFi password. The major problem I had though, and the reason we left was because of the mold we found on the ceiling. Y'all know I don't play with mold and since I am overwhelmingly familiar with the health risks around mold we checked out early even though the breakfast is one of our favorite parts of a hotel stay. After reaching out to the hotel and there being no response I won't be staying here again!
