Very sub par. First impression - lackluster color selection. Dated colors they need to refresh the selection. Service: Butchered my cuticles. For some reason the tech rushed the drying process which caused the polish to crinkle so we had to start over. Hands and nails super dry - asked for lotion and oil and they soaked my hands in oil, like enough for my entire body. About $20 more than I would pay for a mani and pedi. No massage. No oil (had to ask as I was paying). No lotion (just snuck a little pump myself before walking out the door) But everyone was super nice so it begs the question …. Do they really just have no idea what they’re doing here?? In short - would not recommend.

Had a wonderful experience with Nina for dip mani gel pedi. Easy to make an appointment online, we started on time, and the appointment was efficient. Parking was easy in the middle of the day. It’s cozy and fewer stations than most salons so I imagine it’s less hectic than larger nail salons even at the busiest of times. If you want a specific color, she will make sure she has it for you. This is my new nail spot

Absolutely love this place! I won’t go anywhere else! Period. Service is quick and the results are always perfect. My nails last up to 4 weeks with dip powder! And they have grown longer and stronger than ever. Can’t say enough great things about Nina and her business!

my nail design was extremely simple but my artist seemed to be in a huge rush to get it done and it looked really sloppy, and my friend who came with me was not pleased with her nails either and they had to re-do hers. they are way too expensive in my opinion. if they want to charge $75+ and up then they should at least try harder to do the designs well.

I have come here a couple of times for dip powder and everytime my nails look amazing! Nina is attentive to detail & speedy while giving great results! I always leave the salon so happy with my nails and experience! Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

I booked on Classpass but accidentally got my date wrong and they were kind enough to switch for me when i called. When I arrived, I realized left my bike lock and one of the techs was kind enough to let me use theirs. Overall the pedicure was efficient and thorough. I will come back

Do not go here! I went here with my sibling and they charged us $70 each! My sibling got the black set WITHOUT any other designs and they said it was extra because or the length which is my first time ever heard that bs. Not only that but I was annoyed because they left my set dirty and didn’t even bother to clean the gel from the inside of my siblings black set. Will not go again and definitely do not recommend.

The service I requested was for a pedicure and full set they did not have many opi colors . The service was slow I told them it was my birthday and they abruptly stopped working on me . So rude.

I was in DC overnight on my way to NY. I called to see if they could do a basic manicure - just clear gloss. They quoted me $25 for "classic" manicure. The technician spoke very little English and put a bottom coat, a natural clear coat and then held up another bottle and she said top coat. I nodded because I assumed it was the second coat. To be fair - my nails looked great but at the counter she charged me $45. I said I'd been quoted $25 - the owner came over and they talked for a minute and owner said she had used a gel top coat so it was a "gel" manicure. I said I only asked for the classic and she just shrugged. I felt like it was a deliberate con since they knew I was from out of town. I was prepared to tip well since they did fit me in on a Saturday (and did a good job on the nails) but I just paid for the work and left. Bad way to do business.

I requested short gel nails. The extenders were cut to the size I wanted, and the gels were dippers in the color I chose. The clipping tools used were sealed before use. The technician was knowledgeable and grounded. The place felt friendly and nonjudgmental.

Capitol Hill nails is THE place! Service is great, color options are great, and they offer really good student and intern discounts!

I had an amazing experience at this salon! I was only in town for the weekend, and wanted a place where I could get a colorful manicure. Nail technician, Sonny, was great. He made great conversation and did a fantastic job on my manicure. I would definitely recommend Sonny and also the salon :)

Went and got a gel pedicure and manicure. When I received the manicure, the manicurist Lucy cut all of my natural nails off and filed them. I told her how I would like them to be cut and she did not cut them to how I wanted them, she also did not tell me that she was cutting them. She also cut some of my nails crooked and left one nail long while the others were short. I also canceled and rescheduled a different appointment for different services . The original appointment (gel, Mani and Pedi) was kept, and the new appointment (classic Mani and Pedi) was canceled left very dissatisfied/unsatisfied. They also did not allow you to leave unless you paid.

I love this nail salon! I've been coming here since I moved to DC and have always received great service. I've come in close to closing a few times () and they've done my nails both times, and still are friendly and take their time. I've also noticed that my normal manicures from here have lasted much longer than from other spots.

This was my second time here and I will be going more! I called about 30 minutes in advance and was immediately sat down for a gel mani/pedi. Pedicure was great and nails are exactly what I wanted! So well done and she took her time, yet got me out of there within 2 hours (I also had dip powder and acrylic removal). The atmosphere is great and relaxing and no one that popped in had to wait before being helped. It's nice to see a salon run smoothly and efficiently. Thank you ladies!!

Well....... I'd hate to leave this review but I honestly feel like this is not the place to get quality work when it comes to nails. I came here off the recommendation of a stranger and decided to go there versus this other place on H St that does great work. My shape is off, the dip has dents and she didn't provide a wet towel to get the flakes from soaking off my original set. She drowned my hands in oil and when I asked for the towel she said, "No, but you can wash your hands". I scrubbed and it still barely came off. She was nice enough but her skill level isn't there. Now I have to go back to the place O should have went to next week to get them done properly ‍

I've been here three times now and have been satisfied every time! I'm very picky on nail salons and this one was the first one I tried upon my move to DC and I got so lucky. The nail technicians are so nice and very patient. I walk out loving my nails every time!

Worst nail salon ever. First, it is gross in there. Second, I asked for a fill and half way through the nail tech said she couldn't do almond shape even though my nails were already shaped and she ruined the shape. It was a disaster then she refused to continue to work. Go to Paris Nails & Spa they are so kind and very clean.

Love the service and job they do here! I got a dip manicure with chrome on top and they're stunning!! Last awhile too..

I got my nails done at Capitol Salon on Monday, 4/18, and on Sunday, 4/24, A NAIL FELL OFF. I didn't jam it or hit it, it literally just came off while washing my hands. My experience at the salon was great, but to pay $60 for an acrylic set and one to fall off before a week of having them... I am not happy. And if one already fell off, I'm sure there is more to come. I have NEVER had this happen, as my nails usually last 3-4 weeks elsewhere. I'd really expect a free fill at this point because this was not worth the money spent.

Capitol Nail Salon, and Nina and Sunny, always do a beautiful job. My powder polish manicure lasts for easily over two weeks and my nails always look perfect. My gel pedicure lasts longer and is definitely worth the extra money. The salon is very clean and Nina and her technicians are warm and welcoming. I highly recommend going to Capitol Nail Salon.

Nina's done an amazing job once again! Love my nails, love the service, love the prices!!!

Update: less than a week later 2 nails popped off. This has never happened to me in the 15 years I've been getting tips. This place CAN NOT do tips. I want a full refund

Many fantastic things to say about this Salon. The staff were all so lovely and friendly, and provided fantastic customer service. There were also lots of colors to choose from (I had SNS dip)! The salon is also really close to Union Station and the Capitol, which was great! I love my nails! Thank you!

I have had so many bad experiences with nail salons that I swore them off for a while, so I was skeptical when I came here to get my nails done for an event. My worries were completely unfounded! The manicurist I worked with was quick, but paid great attention to detail. I was expecting the nails to chip relatively quickly, but they still look perfect over a week later. My cuticles are also in better condition than they've been in a while. I will definitely be coming back!

Nina does amazing work. I came during Covid and felt incredibly safe. Love my wedding French tip. Would recommend this amazing salon

It was a small service I had done, I was in town for a New Year's Eve wedding and needed one gel nail redone. The gentleman who helped me was very kind and quickly fixed the nail to look exactly like the others. This was on New Year's Eve around 5pm and they were open and willing to help me at the last minute. He did not even charge me as he smiled and said "no charge" Happy New Year! It was heartwarming to receive this kind of generosity and kindness in a strange city at a business I have never been to. Thank you Capitol Nails, I hope to be back!

One of the best nail salon in DC, the staff was just incredible and funny, I love every moment I am here!!!

This place is the worst i regret going there and giving them my money for a shitty service. They got my socks soaked when I was getting my pedicure because the worker forgot to turn the water off and wondered off where else. As for my acrylic set the got it wrong twice and I ended up getting something I don't want because by then it's been 3hrs. Oh and they charged me $65 for a pedicure. If I could I would give it a 0. Check out K beauty Nails instead they went above and beyond with my pedicure for $38 LOVE

I needed to kill time before catching a bus. This salon was near by and did an absolutely amazing job. I had my shellac nails soaked off, a new shellac manicure and it was only $40. The technician was fabulous! She only had to soak and file off my nails, no drill. So my nails stayed nice and healthy. I was in and out in 45 minutes without an appointment. I also loved that no one tried to upsell me on any service. This was by far the best shellac manicure I've ever had, I love the shape of my nails and the color.

This is my new favorite nail salon in DC! I've gone twice for dip nails with extensions and I've loved both sets. The staff is great, the lady who does the designs is very talented. I went today for the flower design for vacation. So cute!

Nina and her staff are very nice and helpful. They always play good music. They always help me out with what I want and exceed expectations. I enjoy coming here and always come back. I appreciate there workmanship and kindness.

This salon feels like home to me. Living in the neighborhood, the women here are like family and take great care of me and whatever I services I need in a timely and compassionate manner. Nina is amazing at waxing, and Jenn (and all of them tbh) are great with nails. 10/10 recommend to everyone looking for a place to get their nails or waxing done in a relaxing, friendly environment.

Nina asked what I wanted and exceeded all of my expectations! Plus, I treated myself to a gel pedicure that was phenomenal. Can't wait for my next appointment!

I had a great experience at Capitol Nail Salon. I came in at the end of the day as a walk-in, and they kindly agreed to do a manicure. The owners were professional, courteous, and very kind. I was pleased with my manicure and will definitely return. I know businesses are hurting right now, and this is the kind of small business I am happy to support as we try to recover from COVID. They also have an adorable dog, Toto, in the salon!

Capitol Nails is my go-to salon! We moved to the Hill a few months ago. I was going to try a few salons to find the best place for services every two weeks, but I didn't visit another salon after Capitol Nails. They have a wide variety of colors, the salon is bright and open, and the people are both wonderful and so talented. It's a great spot!

I used to go see Nina at her other salon, so when she started here, I had to follow! She always does an amazing job on my manicures and is so sweet. They have lots of color options and offer you wine, tea, or water while you're pampered. I've never left this salon anything but satisfied. I would definitely recommend.

Do not get your nails done here. I went here earlier today because my regular nail place, Super Nails on H, was closed. Big mistake I should have just waited. Firstly I had to keep correcting my nail technician because she was looking at her phone half the time. Of course my nails are going to come out crooked when you're not looking at what you're doing. Tell whoever you're texting that you need 20 mins geeze. Even with all the correcting, look at how my nails came out. Uneven lengths, crooked, and lumpy where she filled them! She was using muggy obviously unclean acrylic liquid. Not fresh like you're supposed to. She didn't know how to add jewels. So her colleague came Over to add the jewels and he couldn't make a single strait line of 5 jewels spaced out evenly. Then told me to come back to him next time for more complex designs. Yea right! Ahhhh Oh and there are these fibers from the brush stick in my acrylic top coat. Aaannndddd lastly, at the very end, they wanted to file the edges of my finished acrylic & gel nails. Are you nuts? Uhhh no! I don't want my gel peeling off because you tried to file away the mistakes that should have been corrected before you put the gel color on. Don't go here. Go to Super Nails on H. Perfect nails every time with no direction!

DO NOT go here! Even if it's close to work! I've had some subpar manicures in my life, but I have never had an experience quite as awful as I had last Friday. I went in for a standard fill. My nail tech spent the entire time trying to up sell me to a dip manicure, all the while making my cuticles bleed and TWICE stabbing through the middle of my nail and making it bleed with his tool. I've never had a tougher treatment. He mocked me for the short length I prefer my nails-- since I type at work all day. Then, before my nails were painted, he had me pay and wouldnt continue until I signed and tipped. I felt so pressured, despite knowing how horrible of a treatment this was. The nails were painted poorly, and the top coat turned my pink-ish nude nails an awful yellow color after 3 days. 8 days after my appointment, one of my acrylic nails fell off and several more were loose. I've been getting acrylic nails for nearly years and have never had such a poor experience. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted with the entire process. EDIT: updated with pictures of my nails after my acrylics fell off, since the owner sent me a harsh message claiming I lied about everything!

They did a wonderful job on both the gel color and a design that I asked for on my accent nail. I always come here to get my nails done.

They are under new ownership / management. I dropped in for a mani / pedi and I was the only customer there! ( a couple more did drift in while I was there but there was no wait at all!) The place seems clean and all of the chairs are brand new. The Mani/ pedi I got was fantastic. Usually I get some pain because of my weird feet but there was none this time! In short, I think I'll be coming back to this place. The prices were reasonable and my hands and feet looked great when they were done.

I think this place is great! I've been a few times and they do an exceptional job. Today, I had two lovely ladies working on me at the same time and they did such a great and efficient job! A wonderfully relaxing pedi and a great dip mani. They know what they are doing and take great care in your nails. Great selection of colors. Very clean. Friendly staff. I will be back over and over again.

Loved my nails!! They did a wonderful job and were very professional. The salon was very clean and they had a variety of OPI options, which I love! I did not have to wait very long, and I was in and out quickly. I will come back, because I was treated well and they were very friendly. I was worried about where my car was parked, and they let me know that on Sundays it was free. They have amazing customer service and I just had a great experience! Go to capitol nails!!

I love everyone who works here! So kind, and so professional. They all do very good work - I've had most of their team do my nails at some point, since I've been going here for over a year now, and their gel manicures last a minimum of 2, sometimes 3 weeks! My boyfriend treated me to a nice manicure and pedicure for my birthday while he set up a surprise party, and it was a wonderful treat! One of the best gifts. If you live or work around here, give them a try! Usually no wait at all - but helps to call ahead just in case. Definitely recommend!

The service was not very thorough at all. Besides that, the lady that did my nails was not focused on my nails. She kept answering the phone while doing my nails -- half holding the nail polish brush in one hand and the phone in the other..terrible job. I knew the minute she kept answering the phone that I would never be back. Besides that, the nail polish on my toes lasted one day. I had tips put on my nails and the tips started falling off after three days. I couldn't believe it. The quality of service here is terrible.

There's new ownership and man have they improved it. The staff was BEYOND welcoming and nice. They have dip powder now too ($50 - bit pricier than other spots in town but worth it for me because of location). I stopped going here a year ago because they didn't have dip powder BUT the new owner got it and they have a pretty decent selection. Nina did an awesome job too and it seems cleaner and shinier than before. Def give this place another try - I'm glad I did.

Amazing salon! Always quick and quality job. The location is central and the owners are so kind. This is the best nail salon in the city for value, quality, and experience.

This is by far the best nail salon I have gone to in DC. Not only is the place very clean and spaced out, but the people are very kind and do a wonderful job at all the different services. I usually get a pedicure, manicure, and a quick chair massage and when I leave, I feel like a whole new person. Sonny, Nina, Hannah, and Sang are some of my favorites. Sonny also does beautiful nail art if you like that for your manicure. I went there for my birthday and they even brought out a bottle of champagne to celebrate. I've gone here five times now, and my best friend and I will continue going here for a long time!

I was wonderfully delighted by my experience today. I got a fill for tips plus a pedi and couldn't be more happier with the results. The staff was so nice and really cared about me being relaxed and enjoying my treatment. They were so enjoyable/ personable while also paying attention to every detail! I never felt rushed or ignored. This salon is under NEW management, (named Sunny) and you can truly tell the difference. All new equipment, chairs, and experienced staff!! Love! Love! Capitol Nails! The new management has made it "the" place for a mani-pedi! Clean, professional, friendly & all the latest polish colors & procedures. I got my first nails done with dip powder & it's looked amazing for 2+ weeks. I'm hooked - I'm booked every 2 weeks forever.

My french tip gel nails were ragged 4 days into my trip and needed fixing. The concierge recommended Capitol Nails as it is a short distance from the Hyatt Regency hotel. The salon sits on the D street corner. It is small but not tiny. Being Sunday it wasn't busy at all. I was seated quickly. The gentleman nail tech soaked off the nails prematurely leaving plenty of polish on my nails. I addressed this with him but he replied with "Im not done yet." I have really thin nails and was concerned about him pulling the polish off. I had reason to be concerned. He pulled the polish off with the cuticle clippers and scrapped the nail. By doing this he left indentions and spotches on my nails. He had to file the nail down to remove the polish. I just went with it knowing I would not return. The manicure was quick. He left hang nails. I had to ask him to fix them. The gel is bubbled on some parts and uneven on others. You can't tell unless you're scrutinizing the nail. I can feel the bumps. It's annoying. The nails were not shaped evenly. It cost $55 for the manicure and gel nails plus the tip. You cannot add the tip to the credit card. They were kind and accommodating to my fiance. They changed the channel so he could watch the game and let him sit right in front of the tv. He had the time of his life. They are nice here but nice doesn't make a difference if the work is subpar. Would not recommend unless you're desperate like me and willing to be critical to get the job done right.

Capitol Nails doesn't disappoint! Every technician I have been to at this location has done a wonderful job. They have a great color selection and they are always helpful and patient to help me pick the best color. Prices are also reasonable compared to the area. I will continue to frequent here as long as I'm in the area!

Went today to get my nails removed and left in pain with bleeding nails. Did not soak my nails in acetone but slid a nail underneath to pry it off. Said ow multiple times and said how it hurt but nothing was done about it. My nails look ridiculous and are all ruined.

I usually go to Belle Nails across the way, but they were full and I couldn't come back in three hours. My nails had been done a week prior (at Belle Nails), but I wanted to change the color before I attended a conference out of town. I don't know his name, but a man did my nails and did a sloppy job. First off, he dumped a third of a bottle of acetone into a tray to have me soak my nails, rather than wrapping each nail with cotton and foil. I told him I'd recently had my nails done, but wanted a new color so I didn't want my nails cut. Instead of waiting for the acetone to peel off the gel polish, he used a buffer machine to get off some of the polish, which damaged my actual nails. He also kept starting to cut my nails and I reminded him three separate times that I didn't want them cut, before he stopped picking up the clippers. I guess it was just a habit, but at some point I needed him to cater to my requests as a customer and not just go through the motions. In the end, my gel nails looked decent, but one had polish on my skin. Instead of removing it with acetone when I pointed it out, he cut the skin to remove the polish. I didn't bleed, but it made my finger sore for two days. It's one thing to want something done quickly, but another to feel like it was a rushed, poor quality job. Next time, I'll wait for a chair at Belle Nails.
