I booked this hotel for Memorial Day Weekend. I could not get in touch with the hotel for weeks soon after, do to their number being out of service. The hotel management finally called me at 11:00 PM the evening before our stay. Apparently the pool was CLOSED!!! They never left me a voicemail indicating the pool and/or other facilities were closed, I had to call them back! I have never been met with such unprofessionalism before. They also said that there would be a "free shuttle service" to take us back and forth to the beach, since the pool obviously was closed. We had also asked about food options, since the restaurant was also being renovated. The hotel stated that there would be a "light menu" available to guests. We decided to keep our reservation, since it was Memorial Day weekend, and every hotel was literally sold out. This hotel is so unorganized. What hotel opens on Memorial Day weekend without a pool?
We checked into our room on Saturday, May 28th. I had moved one of the night tables closer to the bed, and immediately noticed a pile of DEAD BUGS on the floor. The shower was dirty and rusty with RANDOM HAIRS inside (not ours.) The towels had BROWN STAINS on them, not to mention ANTS crawling all over. ANTS were crawling on the air conditioner as well. For $595.00 a night, this is totally unacceptable. Also, the lock on the door didn't work. It did not lock from the inside. So we basically slept with our door unlocked all weekend. I told Franz the manager about this, and he ignored me.
I called the front desk to complain, and spoke to the manager by the name of Franz. He never once offered to move us to a different room, because he claimed the hotel was "sold out." Mind you, the parking lot was completely empty, and there were maybe 10 people around the courtyard, including the staff. He said that "housekeeping" would come and clean up the room. Well "housekeeping" was basically 2 women with a small vacuum. The woman vacuuming made a comment herself about how disgusting our room was. I had to spend more money now, and tip her for her services. They did not do anything about the ant problem, and I went to the front desk myself to get clean towels.
We were fed up at this point, and decided to take the "free shuttle" to the beach. The "free shuttle" was really an old disgusting van that looked like something out of the 1960s. The driver was the owners old process server (because the owner is a lawyer.) Since he had nothing to do, he was able to drive us to the beach.
When we got back, we proceeded to grab some lunch at the restaurant. The "light menu" consisted of 5 items. We did not have a table to sit it, or a waiter. Supposedly one of the "owners" took our order. We then come to find out that they weren't accepting cash yet, so we had to charge our meal to the room. We went back for coffee a little later on that day, but the hotel did not have any coffee, not even for breakfast in the morning The whole hotel did not have coffee for the guests. What kind of place is this?
I woke up the next morning on Sunday, May 29 to ants crawling all over my towels yet again. I proceeded to the front desk, and demanded to speak to someone other than Franz. A woman was there claiming to be the "owner." That is a lie because celebrity attorney Mark Geragos owns this hotel. I have no idea who this woman was. Franz was also in the background listening to our conversation, which was very unprofessional. She basically shut me down, and said there was nothing she could do because the hotel was "sold out." I explained to her that we would of checked out the minute we got there, but on Memorial Day weekend where were we supposed to go? Not to mention, there are about 3 hotels in South Hampton, which were entirely sold out.
We left on Monday, May 30th. I refused to sign the hotel bill acknowledging the charges, and told them that I would handle this matter with Chase Sapphire. The Capri Hotel in Southampton is dirty and infested with bugs. Not to mention that their staff are all very unprofessional, nasty, and not accommodating. They lied to us about everything, and simply stole our money.
