We attended the New Year's Eve Firework Viewing Party, and unfortunately, the event was not well managed given the price point.
There was little to no communication about where guests should go or how the event would be handled once weather became an issue. While I understand that rain on New Year's Eve in Las Vegas is unusual and unpredictable, this was a very expensive event, and some level of contingency planning should have been in place.
The entire point of this ticketed experience was access to the outdoor patio with views of the Strip and Caesars Palace fireworks. The assumption seemed to be that guests would simply stay inside due to the rain, but that should not have been the default decision for an event centered around fireworks. Guests who paid a premium should have been allowed to choose for themselves.
Outdoor seating was left uncovered, and the cloth chairs were completely soaked. This could have been easily prevented with covers or by staging appropriate outdoor seating from the start. We asked multiple times for plastic bags so we could at least sit down, but none were provided. Eventually, replacement chairs were brought out, which was appreciated--but it raised the question of why that wasn't done proactively, especially since umbrellas were already available on the patio. Ponchos were eventually distributed, but only after repeated requests.
Communication was also an issue with the open bar. While an open bar was advertised, it was moved elsewhere inside the restaurant without any clear announcement or direction to guests outside, adding to the confusion.
Another surprising oversight was the complete lack of New Year's Eve celebration items. At no point did management or staff offer basic celebratory items such as hats, noisemakers, or New Year's glasses. When asked, staff seemed unsure whether these items even existed. As we were leaving the event, we noticed a table set up near the front of the restaurant with New Year's Eve items on it--long after guests had already gathered outside on the patio. By that point, it was too late for most attendees to even know they were available.
I want to be clear: I understand that weather cannot be controlled. However, preparation and communication can be. For a New Year's Eve event at this price, guests should not be left guessing where to go, what is available, or whether the core experience they paid for will still be honored.
We loved the view once we were able to get situated, but the overall execution fell far short of expectations for a premium New Year's Eve experience.
