Yelp
A large restaurant, part of a chain, which serves interesting brunches and "plates" (mains) and pizzas.
The Fitzrovia branch is on Great Portland Street, about 10 minutes from Oxford Street and includes a large, airy dining area, (with brick walls and hard surfaces, it gets quite noisy) with a smaller more secluded area at the far end, and a take-away counter with two rows of stools around a high table.
Mains take inspiration from a wide range of cuisines, featuring whole grains of various kinds, in a salad-style arrangement of vegetables, seeds and sauces. You'll pay around £8-10 for the smaller plates (which are quite small - no good if you're hungry) and £10-15 for larger mains. Pizzas are generous and £9-12, and sourdough toast with brunch items were around £8-9.50 and a fry-up for £10.50. Vegans and vegetarians have a decent choice.
Puddings start at £2 a scoop for ice cream and sorbet, up to £9.50 for cheese and biscuits. The cakes and cruffins (muffin shaped croissants) offer an alternative choice.
They offer a wide range of beers (draught included) and also carafes of still and sparkling water).
On our visit, service from the young staff was very attentive and quick, though our mains were served luke warm (why not heat the plates?).
Overall, we had a decent experience (largely thanks to the staff), but I found the food interesting but underwhelming.
