The Best Late Brunches in London

"Caravan is one of London’s most popular brunch chains for good reason. The Australian-born coffee roasters and cafe has outposts in Kings Cross (big), Exmouth Market (small), Bankside (medium), and Fitzrovia (big). So, there are a few useful locations to choose from. The menu has both sweet and savoury cravings covered—from vanilla pancakes, to baked eggs, to fry-ups—and it's a reliable option when no one wants to do any thinking. Just bang it in Google Maps and be on your way." - jake missing

The 6 Best Restaurants Near Tate Modern - London - The Infatuation

"We find that a Saturday afternoon composed of queuing with and tripping over circles of sketching school kids is best avoided when hangry. Combat any hunger-induced fallouts by visiting crowd-pleaser, Caravan. This Antipodean-style cafe is great for groups and picky eaters. From grain bowls to pizzas, small plates, and pork schnitzels, they’ve got it all. It’s also just a seven-minute stroll from Tate Modern. " - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Jake Oliver, Sinead Cranna

Caravan Bankside Review - Southwark - London - The Infatuation

"Caravan is our go-to when we’re rolling with a group of friends who all want different things from a meal. Come for coffee, a dependable brunch, dinner, and even an espresso martini, or maybe all of those things at the same time. The Antipodean-style cafe in Bankside is also civilised enough for an informal work meeting, and is one of the better spots in the area for big groups. Just be sure to call ahead if it’s last-minute." - David Paw

Convenient central location for a bank holiday brunch. Booking online was straightforward, and they had a high chair ready for us, which was great for families. We ordered the baked eggs, Korean fried chicken with pancake, avocado toast, and the English breakfast. Filter coffee came with a thoughtful note about the coffee’s origin, which was a lovely touch. The food took a little while to arrive, and while everything tasted fine, nothing stood out as exceptional. Still, it’s a decent option for a relaxed brunch in a lively setting.

Great ambiance and a warm welcome at reception, but that’s where the positives ended. The food was consistently mediocre. The fried chicken pancakes were especially disappointing: dry, oddly sweet, sour, and spicy, not to our taste. But the real issue was the service. I understand things get hectic when it’s busy, but what stood out was the clear lack of care. We were served by Zoe, who made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. It took 25 minutes before we could even order, and only after I called her over. She forgot our water, never checked in on our meal, and when the food finally arrived, the waiter accidentally collapsed both our pancake towers. We gave feedback on the food and asked for the bill. Ten minutes later, they offered free coffee, which never arrived. Instead, they removed just two drinks from the bill, even though we were a table of four. We were planning a business lunch here next week, but we’ll be going elsewhere. Disappointing experience overall, never coming back.

Went here to meet family. Had decent vegan options, but felt the food was quite oily. I did love my tofu red curry!

Had the pleasure of being taken here for a birthday brunch and I was not disappointed. One of the best brunch spots I've come across in a while, and with quite menu with some innovative twists on the classics. The interior itself is quite cool, and even though it was fairly busy the service was impeccable, and was given a complimentary glass of champagne. Will certainly be back to sample the lunch menu.

I was genuinely impressed by the staff's attentiveness and friendliness, especially considering how busy the restaurant was! Despite the crowd, our visit was seamless, and we had a wonderful time. We both enjoyed the Korean fried chicken and kimchi pancakes – they were absolutely delicious! Thank you for a fantastic brunch.

I had the most incredible experience!!!! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The service was beyond exceptional—Aysia took such great care of us, making sure every detail was perfect, and Bradley, the manager, was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food? Absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations
