Seems to be open more than the replaces. Great options for vegan and plant based people. The hummus and falafels were delicious. Homemade fries, friendly staff. Great location

I had been meaning to try this place for the last few times I’ve been in Telluride. I love that they have vegan and vegetarian options, and it’s located in a great location, with a great outdoor dog friendly seating area. While we enjoyed coming here, both my wife and I felt that the food was just OK. Not bad, but not as great as we had hoped. We ordered the falafel sandwich and the mezze plate with hummus, falafel, rice, lentil soup, and taboulleh. The falafel didn’t taste fresh (I’d guess they were prepackaged or frozen then cooked there), the hummus and rice were tasty, and the lentil soup didn’t have any lentils in it nor did it taste like lentil soup. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

Pretty good and very reasonably priced (for Telluride) food on the main road. Caravan is a permanent food truck with a large and shaded dog-friendly patio. Three out of five stars for the food due to the small portions of meat (my single skewer had good flavor but only had four small pieces on it) and the falafel tasted like it was frozen.

LOVED IT!! Patio seating only, the birds are cool company & will finish what you don't. Spinach Roll was absolutely delicious!! Shepards Salad was good but I felt a little too much mustard in the dressing & it almost took away from it. Hummus was good, I honestly would've liked some garlic in it. Pita was wheat so new to me. Give them a try! Hope you enjoy!

Falafel sandwhich with fries and baklava was inspiring. Went home with it and had a white wine and it was: Perfect. Would recommend!!! Edit: came back next day and sat under the umbrellas at the picnic tables and it was as good or even better (they have pickles when you eat there)

This is NOT middle eastern food. We ordered shish beef kebabs and the meat was super fatty, it tastes more like regular grilled fatty flank. The pita was stored bought, hummus was ok, and fries were very greasy. Also the place is only for outdoors, so if you go during cold weather be aware of this.

Food didn’t taste great, the lentil soup had zero flavor I even tried soooo much salt but still nothing. They also were out of a lot of things at 6pm even thought they close at 8:30pm. I would have expected them to still accommodate that early in the night. They also charged $18 for food with no flavor. Definitely dont recommend!

Whole in town, we decided to stop here for lunch. They have a nice big shaded patio that's dog friendly. It's shared with another restaurant, but we were easily able to snag a table. The food was alright, they have a lot of different options for both entrees and sides. I will say the value for the money was a little pricey for what you get.

No bueno. Went to lunch here and did not like it. Service okay. And as expected. However food was just terrible. Falafel was hard as a rock. Hummus has no flavor. And dish came with 1/2 pita -- which wasn't enough for all of the hummus. I can't recommend. And would never return.

Excellent food sold from a little hut on the patio of La Cocina de Luz restaurant. Lovely shaded picnic tables in a quaint garden.

Terrible. What a shame, this used to be our favorite spot in Telluride, and it's gone way down hill. I think there are new owners. Last time we ate here we got the Beef kabob with hummus, falafel and there was such a beautiful salad, plenty of pitas... this time the plate came with two measly pitas, the salad was old lettuce and one grape tomato, everything tasted bland compared to our last experiences. When you have Latin Americans cooking Middle Eastern food, I guess this is what you get. Very disappointing.

A great spot for lunch with a very pleasant and secluded patio. Service was very friendly and the food deliciously fresh tasting. They offer Middle-Eastern fare and we loved the falafel sandwich, even the pita bread was extra yummy! Prices are very reasonable for Telluride, another great reason to visit Caravan!

Food is delicious. A great place to sit outside with our puppy and very laidback and casual setting. People are also so nice.

We had just arrived in Telluride and were hungry for just about anything . The reviews looked good, but let me tell you, it's underrated. Diana and David are wonderful hosts, welcomed us, and we're patient with our dietary restrictions. They really blew us away. Delicious hummus, kebabs, lentil soup and salad really hit the spot. The Crispy fries, tender beef kebabs were cooked just right and and the attentive staff made it a home run. We will be back next trip to telluride

It's nice to have some outdoor seating on a nice Fall day. It's also nice to have a fresh salad topped with a kebab. Got the meal deal and opted for salad on both of the sides. It worked out nicely as my gf and I both got just the right amount of food for a pre-dinner snack. The tables are in a nice courtyard space. You just walk up, order, and take your seat (assuming you're staying there to eat). I think they have a pretty good takeout business. The juice drinks, smoothies, or whatever they were looked pretty good. No complaints at all on the kebab. The meat was well prepared. The romaine was fresh and the pita bread was delish. Caravan is pretty well rated on Yelp at the time I'm writing this. The combination of that and our friend getting a good looking dish there first ultimately had us wanting to try it out. I'd say you'll likely be happy going here.

This place is the real deal. The food is authentic and delicious. Lots of vegetarian options. We got the mezze plate with falafels, tabouli, spanakopita, hummus and something else I can't remember but was also delicious. We ate on the patio with our dogs.

I'm from a very large city with some amazing middle eastern food and this is probably some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. The falafel and chicken were both melt in your both good. Portions are incredible. Really everything we tried was great. Go here!!

if only they were ever open delicious food but no consistency in hours they open when they're not busy w catering which isn't often and you can't rely on it you can't plan to meet someone here you always hope and are constantly disappointed can they hire someone to man the cart or handle catering? there's a whole town that needs you

Oh my gosh, yes! DELUCIOUS gluten-free + vegan options. The person taking our order was so conscious of allergies and so sweet. I got the gluten free beef kabob with falafel and hummus. The kabobs were TENDER and DELICIOUS! It's so nice to be able to eat out, have great food and feel good.

Came to Telluride in the April offseason not knowing it's an absolute ghost town during this time of year. Most of the restaurants, bars, shops, and even the gondola are all closed until next ski season. Caravan is one of the few eateries open during the offseason, so my fiance and I gave it a go. It still hurts that we came here with not much to do in town, but this delicious Mediterranean food and the warm customer service were a bright spot in our trip. We each had a kabob plate which was plenty filling albeit a little pricey (as ALL the food is around here). Lamb kabob special: Juicy, herbaceous goodness. Loved it with the mint yogurt. Chicken kabob: Also very juicy with a nice char. SO good. French fries: Delicious and good for 2. A bit salty but we loved the texture and taste. Tabbouleh: Fresh and tasty Hummus: Very good with the soft pita. Spanakopita: Definitely a must-get. Flakey, fresh, and delicious spinach inside. We scarfed this one down in record time. Cherry on top was the excellent service. Thank you!

Steadily my first choice dining casually in Telluride. The food quality is excellent, as is preparation, and the staff are the most friendly and accommodating in the region.

The food at this place is just amazing and the staff is so friendly and nice !! The beef skewers are more like steak skewers :)

All our food was delicious!!! Greek salad was so fresh and delish! Loved the hummus and pita! Chicken and steak were both very flavorful! And the portions were very generous! You will not find a better meal for the price anywhere in Telluride! And on top of it all the lady worker, (did not catch her name) was so friendly and gave us great service! Highly recommend!!! Will definitely be back next trip!!!

I absolutely loved coming to Caravan. Its set up outside and you order at the window of the caravan up front and seat yourself at any of their garden tables or picnic tables. There are flowers everywhere, umbrellas to shade you from the sun, and a great view of the mountains and Colorado St. Their menu looked awesome with so many great dishes to choose from. My boyfriend and I both got a falafel sandwich, which was one of the best I've ever had. We tried a salad and the hummus as well, which were both delicious. The only thing I was missing was something to eat the hummus with. Pita bread, crackers, olives, cucumber slices, anything to dip in there would have been appreciated, but we just incorporated it into our sandwiches and salad and it was delicious both ways. Next time I'm in Telluride, I will definitely be stopping back at Caravan. I absolutely loved it, they do a wonderful job!

I nearly cried into my vegetarian mezze, it was that excellent! My husband and l even stayed with our 3 little girls longer in town because of that outstanding middle eastern place. The tabouleh was the best l have ever had, and that includes my travels to Egypt and Jordan: surprisingly, they put quinoa in it - it gave the usually very strong taste of tabouleh a milder, just extraordinary flavour. The baba ghanoush comes with crackers that are a treat in itself - organic and vegan, and heavenly delicious. On top of all of that, the shaded breezy outside sitting area with its flower fountain right on Main street makes a sunny day just perfect. Needless to say, the staff is the crème de la crème of that little paradisaic culinary jewel; the most friendly and generous you can imagine!

This is by far my favorite place to eat in Telluride, even over the higher end places we ate at all week. Fresh food made with great care and flavors so incredible. Great people too. If you like Mediterranean go here. Wish we found this place earlier on our trip. For this kind of food the prices are very good. Two of us split the chicken and a side sampler. Had leftovers and ate the rest for an afternoon snack.

Had late lunch here yesterday after exploring telluride. They were a cute food truck with friendly staff and amazing smells of yum mines coming from the cooking. We both had the chicken shawarma sandwich which came with a light salad. Delicious, fresh, and flavorful. They were continuously busy which is always a good sign. We had a great spot seated near the entrance but they had plenty of tables and bench seating. I would definitely recommend if you want a little something off the norm. I lived in LA for 9 years and travelled to Israel many times over those 9 years, so I've experienced delicious middle eastern food! They did it justice!!

Absolutely delicious homemade middle eastern food!! Family-run with lots of love. The sauces are perfection. Everything was amazing. Highly recommend. Lovely outdoor seating as well.

Had the chicken shish-kebob and the Mezze Vegetarian sampler. We got the hummus, shepherd's salad, tabouli, baba ganouj and spanikopita. All of it was phenomenal. The chicken was moist and delicious. Even the dips that came with the chicken were so tasty. I think it was a tahini sauce and a tzaziki - so flavorful. Lots of kalamata olives on the salad. The pita bread was perfect - soft and warm and they gave us more when we ran out. Outdoor seating was comfortable and shaded if desired. Wish we had found this place sooner. Thankfully we had more than enough to save for an afternoon snack.

I was in desperate need of food that made me feel good while eating and after. They were so friendly and although the mask covered their mouth, I could see the smile in their eyes. Delicious food with the perfect amount of spice and freshness. I highly recommend.

Visited Telluride two weeks ago and by far this was the best middle eastern food I have ever had. The family deserves a shout out for their hard work and passion to serve good food. Highly recommend it!!

This might be one of the better places in town. It's an unexpected treat for a few reasons. Most of the items and ingredients are organic. The prices are very reasonable. The portions are quite large. The service is on point. The lady who runs it (Diana) is very sweet and charming. The atmosphere is pretty cool too. I'm happy to recommend this place and give it two thumbs up. Way up. Do go.

Excellent food by chefs who are clearly into raising the taste profiles on traditional Middle Eastern dishes. My family had a great time in the shaded courtyard. Seating on a first come first served basis and very kid/dog friendly. Great people watching as well. Affordable by Telluride standards. Great for a date spot and a family meal. Wonderful owner couple. Thank you!

My favorite place in Telluride by FAR!! The food is wholesome and fresh, also, generously portioned. The people who own and work at the establishment are very warm and friendly. Great WIN all the way around.

Pretty good food. I felt like I was bothering the employees by ordering though. I got there at opening and I hey were pretty annoyed. The menu on yelp is not correct

Some healthy quick options right on the main street (Colorado Avenue). It's actually possibly to get "Q" during the film festival, walk briskly over here, order, have your food prepared and packaged, and arrive back at the theater in time to get your seat and enjoy a "movie picnic". My falafel sandwich was large enough and filled with around 6-8 quarter-sized patties, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. I had requested tzaziki instead of tahini, which was verbally agreed upon, but not given. It was good, but not great.... and certainly better than another dinner of popcorn.

We hit this place for lunch after a brisk hike in mid-August. I was craving kebabs, and my son and husband were anxious to try some Middle Eastern fare. We had a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting on a lovely afternoon. The outdoor seating area was perfect for us as well as our friends' black lab. There were more people than seats available, too bad their patio is not a smidge larger. But our group of 8 adults +1 teen +1 pooch found 2 tables back-to-back as we arrived just ahead of the crowd. A bit pricey but we expected that in Telluride. The only downer: my son had purchased a sweatshirt as a memento from our trip out west, and-- being distracted by the awesomeness of his tasty grub-- he left it behind. Even while retracing his steps an hour after we finished our meal, no luck! Oh well. Whoever has it must have needed it more than he did. Other than that little hiccup, we have only fond memories of our time here.

Caution to those with peanut allergies! The lamb has peanut bits in it, though it is NOT mentioned on the menu at all! Either that, or extremely poor/dirty food practices caused a lot of cross contamination. Beware!

Friendly, friendly, friendly and just delicious food. Way more food than we were expecting, actually, so order light and you can always order more. It was nice to have a less expensive option for lunch. We ate out on the patio, but I believe you can go inside their "sister" restaurant (La Cocina) to eat if you like.

We tried their anti-oxidant smoothies. They were okay. Nothing out of the extraordinary.

These people serve great food fantastic smoothies and serve the customer in more ways then ever expected. We visited for the cold smoothies on a warm day and while waiting on our food we accidentally left the souvenir shirt on a bench. We called the owner up and they were kind enough to mail that shirt to us just as part of the customer package. These folks know how to treat their customers to a great meal and a family type experience! Must stop for those visiting this beautiful area!

We have dined at Caravan before and it was not that terrible. But, with new staff it has gone down hill. The only person working could not get it together and it took a very, very long time to prepare three entrees. When we returned home our order was incorrect, the spanikopitas were burnt, the french fries were dry (over fried), the baklava was mainly honey goo with only a few layers of fillo dough on top and a few layers of fillo on the bottom, no layers in the middle? Substandard in my opinion. Not returning, go next door to La Cocina it is very expensive, but delicious everytime.

Surprised by the negative reviews - I spend summers out near Telluride, and probably stop here at least once a month for a falafal salad or wrap to go. It's not the drool-worthy Middle Eastern food you'd get in LA or DC, but the falafal and hummus are perfectly respectable, and the veggie sides and salads have always been fresh in my experience. It's also one of the quicker to-go options in town - I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes after placing my order (usually closer to 10 min), and you can sit in the patio area of Cocina de Luz while waiting. Like everything in Telluride, prices are more than you'd pay elsewhere, but the wraps are under $10 and pretty big (the side orders are more pricey and can add up).

of course it's not middle eastern food you'll find in NYC, but i still thought it was quite good! the vegetarian sampler (in which you get to choose 5 sides) was $13 and super filling, which i'd say is a good deal. the patio atmosphere is really nice as well. however, they did get my order wrong, which is why i had to bring it down a star. my plate was missing the spanikopita and baklava that i ordered, and instead came with an unappetizing veggie soup and another salad which was kind of disappointing because i was really looking forward to the baklava. if they were out of those things, i wish they had told me at the register or ahead of time so i could have picked something else.

As a Telluride local I don't go out to eat a lot, I can walk home from anywhere in Town. When I do go out its most often one of 3 places and Caravan is one of them. Service is fast and friendly. If there is a new item, and they add them frequently, you can get a sample to taste. The price is very reasonable for a resort town, especially for the generous portions. I'm always stuffed when I leave, whether its just a sandwich or a platter. Those platters offer a lot of choices too. Yes, it's a good idea to grab cutlery as Mid-eastern food can drop some tasty morsels outside the wrapper. I like being able to eat out on the patio with the spectacular views and when the weather is dicey I can take it indoors to the great Mexican restaurant next door (same ownership and another favorite eatery). The owner goes out of his way to source ingredients locally and organically when possible. Another plus is that the owner is involved with many local non-profits and helps out by catering fundraising events. I don't know how to say Bon Apetite in any middle eastern language but I would if I could. My only wish is that he also opens a Tibet/Indian restaurant :)

Caravan tackily posts a sign at the register fishing for favorable reviews on restaurant and travel Web sites, so I hope the management doesn't mind this honest review of their milquetoast take on Middle Eastern cuisine. Diners order from a window of a cart off the sidewalk and are welcome to enjoy their food outside on the patio or inside two doors down at La Cocina de Luz, Caravan's older Mexican-American sibling. The inattentive yet pleasant young man behind the register asked to take my order, but I had to repeat the entire thing since he wasn't paying attention the first time around. I wanted to try the lentil soup, which was advertised on the sign outside and on the menu, but apparently there was none to be had. My chicken shawarma plate presented itself several minutes later, nearly correct--I had forgone the pita bread in favor of those fabulous Mary's gluten-free crackers, but they were sadly missing. Luckily, the situation was remedied immediately. While I appreciate that Middle Eastern-ish food is now available in San Miguel County, I wish I could be more enthusiastic about the grub Caravan is slinging. The measly portion of chicken ended up being underdone (gross!), the baba ganoush lacked both the punchy flavors and deep smokiness you expect, and the "Greek salad" was just the New Age-ey Mexican salad from next door with a different dressing. At Caravan, Telluride takes a hatchet to yet another world cuisine. If you decide to go, tie up your expectations and your big city tastebuds alongside one of the cute doggies on the sidewalk.

Falafel, schwarma, shish kebab are all typically fast, inexpensive street food. Here it is too expensive for being very average and came out slowly. A tiny hot dog sized piece of lamb on a stick, a few small falafel, a small Greek side salad, and a piece of baklava were $20. It wasn't bad, but not worth the price and not something I'll return to. I want the old taco truck back in town :(

Service is not telling of Telluride. By far the WORST service with the most disrespectful burnette employee. After apologizing for "mis reading" the menu, she deliberately messed up the order twice. Will NEVER go here again, unless I want to sit on the toilet and catch up on my Instagram.

I have to say that I'm surprised to see negative reviews for this place! I stop by the Caravan for lunch a few times a week, and am never disappointed. Service is always friendly, portions are huge, and the food is consistently delicious.
