Where to Find the Best Halal Food in Orlando, Florida | Eater Miami

"Succulent kebabs grilled over open charcoal are the main draw of this tucked-away spot in Pine Castle, where hand-pulled Uyghur-style noodles, dumplings, and savory pastries are of the highest order. A bevy of cakes beg to be enjoyed with unlimited cups of Turkish tea." - Faiyaz Kara

An exceptional dining experience at Caravan Uzbek and Turkish Cuisine. We ordered the İskender kebab, the meze platter, and the Turkish kebab, and every dish was beautifully prepared and full of authentic flavor. The honey cake was a standout—rich, balanced, and the perfect ending to the meal. We also enjoyed Turkish tea, which was comforting and thoughtfully served. The food was consistently excellent, the prices were very fair, and everything felt both authentic and elevated. I especially want to highlight our server, Guzal! I truly hope the restaurant recognizes her for outstanding service. Warm hospitality, delicious halal cuisine, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for refined yet authentic Uzbek and Turkish (Türkiye) cuisine in Central Florida. Google
Wonderful experience at this place. The waiter/receptionist was very smart, attentive, and efficient - he found us a table without too much wait. The food was hands-down the best halal cuisine I've ever had, especially the fried laghman, which was outstanding. We were hoping to try the lamb kebab, but unfortunately it was sold out by the time we arrived. Still, a fantastic meal overall.

Insan was our server & he was an absolute pleasure. Super patient & helpful. This was our first time here but I will definitely be back. Food was delicious, atmosphere was welcoming and super affordable for the portion sizes. 100/10 recommend!

AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS FOOD! Everything was great! There was a young tall gentleman that would oversee our table as well as a waiter in training. We advised it was our first time there, and he went over and beyond to let us try new things. He brought us a small sample of a hibiscus juice they made in house which we ended up ordering. The dumplings were moist, soft, and well cooked. The meat had natural fat and a very organic taste. Lamb chomps cooked to perfection. The dip sampler was fresh and delicious. Turkish coffee was fresh, strong and wonderful. My favorite was the puff pastry filled with lamb and beef. YOU MUST TRY IT! The rice pudding was creamy, mellow, and addicting! WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK!

We enjoyed our visit to this Uzbek restaurant — most of the dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The breads, salads, and appetizers were especially delicious, and the overall meal felt authentic. However, everything was quite salty, the Adana kebab wasn’t to my taste, and the Uzbek rice wasn’t cooked very well. On the positive side, our server Saeeda was very friendly and made the experience more pleasant. With a few improvements to the food, this place could be even better.

Google
This place was really really good!! I would definitely visit again. Great ambiance and amazing food. Phenomenal service as well! The food was so good I forgot to take more pics. But we definitely had the pilaf and the kebabs as well as the lamb chops. Adana kabab was a MAJOR hit! Please try it. I was excited for honey cake but unfortunately they didn't have any that day.

Update: Went back for a second visit. Gozel was such a sweetheart providing genuine, kind service. Thank you! We will probably order more grilled/kabab items and desserts! Pricey! But well worth its price!! We truly enjoyed our meals here. Kebabs were all delicious. Uzbek items were also unique and delish! Service was just ok. We were sat by the door while the rest of the restaurant was half empty, and server was not that attentive, but she had pleasant manners when present. Well worth the visit 🙏🏼Will be back next time in town.

Google
Food was delicious and surprisingly affordable — great value for the price. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Saida was very friendly and welcoming, with such a warm smile. Definitely a place I’d come back to again.

Yelp
First time trying Uzbek food, and now I know that I will be back to try out more! Caravan has a nice small shop ambiance with a very friendly staff. The manager even stopped by and was genuinely curious how we thought of the dining experience. In terms of food, Caravan did have some Turkish dishes but the main focus is Uzbek food, which I really did want to try out. We had several dishes to share, and every item was delicious. Most things ordered were beef focused, but we tried several variations of the dishes such as with rice, with noodles, and steamed dumplings- which were fantastic! The Samsas had a really nice dough as well, and overall, all portions for the dishes were pretty good. I will definitely like to be back here to try out more dishes next time!

Yelp
Uzbek restaurant...meat eaters would love it...had Lamb liver after a long time! Super fresh meat, they probably slaughtered it in the backyard Samsa ( their version of samosa?) super flaky shell and chunks of beef inside rather than minced. Very mild flavors and no spice. Lamb and beef Jaz kabobs Lamb liver skewer each. Honey cake was very good and not too sweet. Uzbek tea brings it all together. Friendly and home style service. They just started last year, could find on FB for check in. Try it if in you're in Orlando.

Yelp
We were super excited to try traditional Uzbek and Turkish cuisine after finding out about this restaurant! Our family came here on a busy weekend night and we were quickly seated by the staff. The ambiance was laid back and family friendly. Everyone was very hospitable to us. We ordered the Vinnegrette salad, Borscht, Fried Laghman, and Kazan-Kabob. The Vinnegrette salad was super fresh with minced beets, carrots, peas, potatoes and herb. It was light, refreshing and got our palate ready for the other courses. The Borscht was delightfully rich with the tender beef that paired beautifully with the subtle sweetness of the root vegetables. The Fried Laghman is a hand-pulled noodle dish that is reminiscent of Chow Mein but using much thicker noodles. The noodles had a great texture and out family loved it. The Kazan-Kabob came with marinated lamb chops and ribs slowcooked with gold potatoes in cast iron pot (kazan). The cook of the meat was perfect; however, it was slightly salty for me unfortunately. TLDR; great restaurant for traditional Uzbek and Turkish food. I would highly recommend for folks who are looking to try something new!

Yelp
Discovered this restaurant while on a work trip in Orlando through Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. I have to say, this meal did not disappoint (for the most part) Started the meal with the Samsa, a light pastry with beef and lamb. Very tasty when paired with the dipping sauce provided. Worth the try. For main we ordered the To'y Osh rice and beef and lamb kebabs. The rice was by far the star of the show. The meat was incredibly tender and the rice had so much flavor. The raisins in the rice balanced out the savory spices quite nicely. Could've ordered 3 more of these! The kebabs, on the other hand, were tough and chewy, although they were well seasoned. could've skipped them. They did have limited availability of their menu items as some were sold out for the day (for reference, this was on a Tuesday afternoon, no later than 6pm), which made it difficult to try a variety of things. Service was fast and friendly, and there was ample seating to accommodate small and large parties.

Yelp
Modern menu (scan qr code) and payment. Staff very pleasant and does very well with service. Clean environment, tasteful decor. Had a cafe coffee made in front of you and desserts very visible. Wanted to try Uzbek traditional meals. Unique flavors in what we ordered. My wife had the Uyghur lagman soup which my wife and I liked, the meat was so soft and flavorful. I had the Samsa which was good not liking the dip because it had the texture and taste of refrigerated marinara sauce and To'y Osh which I was not a fan of. The meat was tough and needed more flavor and too much hard rice. We had refillable hot tea very nice flavor. Nice to try something different.

Yelp
First time visiting this Uzbekistani (Central Asian) restaurant, and what an amazing find! It's very rare to find Uzbek restaurants around the country, yet they have some of the most delicious dishes and flavors! Uzbek food is a combination of Middle Eastern/Turkish and Asian/Uyghur/Mongolian foods (some Russian dishes too as they were part of soviet union for a while)! This was a supper group dinner, so our group ordered a range of dishes! We started off with some hot tea and you can choose green tea or black tea! We tried both and very refreshing! Next, we ordered: Uyghur Lagman: hand-pulled noodle dish with lamb/beef and vegetables in a delicious broth! Shurpa: it's a clear broth beef and vegetable soup with a very light and delicious flavor! so delicious and healthy for a cold day! we also tried the Cheburek, which is a fried pastry with minced beef and spices! so tasty ! Their national dish is the Uzbek Pulov, and it's called To'y Osh and its rice cooked with carrots, chickpeas, and beef! This is the star of the show and a must try! Another dish we ordered was the beef dumplings: Manti: perfectly seasoned with spices such as cumin, etc Overall, such a treat and will be visiting regularly until i can try just about every dish on their menu!!!!

Yelp
I came to try some authentic Turkish/ Uzbek breakfast and was soo happy I did! I ordered wayyyyy too much food, it was all tasty. To begin I had Turkish tea because why not! For my breakfast I ordered Turkish sausage with eggs and an authentic Turkish platter with sooo many goodies to try. A few items that were not pictured but my family ordered which was delicious were blini with minced beef (highly recommend) , blini with Nutella and Menemen. The menemen took a bit longer to come out so I was stuffed by the time it came out. The restaurant is very clean, the service is very knowledgeable and always helpful, the food is delicious. I can't wait to return to try their lunch and dinner menu.

I loved traditional Uzbek and Turkish food. It's fresh and delicious. Samsa is outstanding.

Yelp
First time having Uzbekistani cuisine, though I have had lots of Turkish cuisine. The inside of the restaurant is very homey and bright and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I am vegetarian/occasional pescatarian, and the cuisine here is very meat heavy, but there were also lots of vegetarian options as well, including hummus, Baba Ghanoush, salads, soups, etc. We had the Baba Ghanoush which came with pita and we also ordered the Uzbek Bread, which was fantastic. For our meals we ordered the salmon kabob with a side of rice and salad, and To'y Osh. We enjoyed the food, the only thing I did not care for was the dressing on the salad. We topped off this incredible meal with green tea and pistachio cake.

Yelp
Tried for the first time last night did take out... had an altercation with an employee... though was told he was a volunteer... this happed in the parking lot trying to leave... did talk to manager and he apologized for the persons behavior. That said the food was ok... nothing spectacular... all arrived home 10 minutes later and all cold! Pita bread was not home made same bread I can buy at Publix. Boba ganoosh was good as was the hummus! Ordered 3 kabbobs Lamb Beef And Salmon... all three were in the same box... should Never Mix fish with anything... so one in party would not eat! All in all a disappointing

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place! Staff so hospitable, it was like being in someone's home. You should note that they don't serve alcohol and you can't bring it in. I was worried about this, because I'd brought 8 friends from a conference we were attending in March, 2024. But we had such a great time and shared so much amazing food that everyone said it was one of their best meals out ever, and our spirits were so high we didn't need extra spirits! Definitely order too much food, try everything, and ask your server for advice if you're stumped. Ambiance is beautiful: large room, lovely decorations, and sun pouring in the windows. I would go out of my way to come here again.

Yelp
We were excited to try this restaurant. That excitement didn't last long. We were seated right away. Server didn't show up for 15 minutes, we were preparing to leave. At that time, restaurant was less than a quarter full. Server showed up whose English was almost non existent. We pointed to items we wanted on the menu. The babaganush was tasteless. Love it at Bosporus, but this was borderline uneatable. And it was served with soft cut up tortillas!! My husbands lamb was just plain weird. Looked and tasted like it had been sitting in a refrigerator for a long time. I didn't touch it- it looked that bad. We couldn't finish the meal. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and clean. Parking is a mess though. We paid our bill and exited. Won't be returning.

Yelp
I can't believe I'm the first one to write a review of this hidden gem. Newly opened in Sept 2023, amazing Uzbek / Turkish spot. Halal food, with tons of choices for meat. Friendly waiter, quickly seated. Was busy ish around 4pm even. The prices were reasonable, each skewer for $10-12. The rice dish was amazing, you gotta try it. Tender lamb and beef chunks with lamb fat and veggies, what a heavenly meal I had. Truly one of the BEST restaurants in Orlando, if not the very best middle eastern spot. It's a meat lover's dream.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing foods here, the place is super clean, everyone is friendly. There is a small language barrier but with understanding anyone can make this work. The prices are great to compared to lesser quality restaurants who serve similar cuisine.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious! Excellent quality and portion size. The service was terrific. Thanks to Yosin, who served us. We were really grateful for his hospitality! Definitely coming back here again!

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time. The restaurant itself is super cute. Love the decor and art. Very beautiful. Also, they have privacy barriers if needed. Love that it's all halal. The lamb skewers were the best. So tender and delicious. Also their bread is amazing. We ordered manti and a rice dish. So good! The staff was very friendly. Highly recommend!

Anthony B.

Yelp
Food was absolutely perfect and the employees we interacted with were very kind. I highly recommend this place!

Mike S.

Yelp
Authentic delicious food. Ive eaten at other Turkish restaurants before but this menu was the most creative and offered various meat and non meat options. Great menu, and friendly staff. Service was good.

Yelp
All great!! Wonderful lamb and rice dishes, beef. Chicken, Silk Road influences, breads dumplings noodles. DON'T MISS!! LOVELY WAITRESS!! will be back soon as merely glazed over the many appealing offerings. Loved it!!

Yelp
Amazing food that tastes homemade and very quick service. The restaurant is so quaint and homey, just like the food itself.
