"Carhartt Family Vineyards, brings new life to vines. With his long dark hair and laidback vibe, you could easily mistake Chase Carhartt for a surfer, but spend a few minutes with this fourth-generation Californian and you’ll soon discover that he’s quite intense—at least when it comes to wine. Young and passionate, Carhartt is part of a new generation of winemakers who are working tirelessly to debunk wine myths. The winery produces 7,500 cases a year but out of those cases, they make 35 different wines." - Nancy DePalma

"We are a family owned and operated winery, established in 1996. We produce over 30 different wines annually, pouring most of them in our tasting room located in Los Olivos, California. We have a spacious back patio we use for outdoor tastings, with limited seating indoors. Open 7 days a week. Reservations are recommended Friday-Sunday. If you have a party of more than 8, please email carhartttastingroom@gmail.com"

The vibe was super cool and the wines were good, from what I could “taste.” My issue is with the size of the pours. As you can see, a bit stingy on the pour. For a $25 tasting flight, I would expect a bit more to really appreciate the wine. Overall, wouldn’t return to their tasting room with so many other options in town and outlying area.

2025.01.19 - Honestly, the only downside to this place is that the bathroom is a public porta potty across the street - though keeping in mind it really is intended to be a tasting room and not a bar, it makes sense. That said, the place definitely has a locals bar vibe and the wines are very respectable with something for everyone in the offering. There is an indoor bar and a small "living room" area but most of the available seating is in the backyard patio. The last time we were in Los Olivos we dropped in for one last tasting before hitting the road back down to LA and we bumped into Mike - super nice guy with fun stories of crazy times in LA. It impressed us that the owner was there enjoying his product and "hanging out" with his employees and customers. Carhartt seems to take good care of their employees, and if you forget your servers name they are pictured in the menu which I appreciated as a nice personal touch. We had the same server we had years previously when we came to Carhartt for the first time - when employees stick around, its usually a sign of a well-run business that takes care of people. Carhartt will always be a stop in Los Olivos.

Google
What a great place! Very cozy stylish yard and special compliments for the very comfortable chairs here! Exceptionally pleasant service, I felt like visiting friends who genuinely wanted to treat me to wonderful wines and give me as much information as possible about each wine I tasted. The selection of wines is perfect, really enjoyed all the ones offered for testing. Many thanks for the excellent wines and created friendly atmosphere! Hope to visit again soon!

We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and relaxed atmosphere. Being dog friendly was a great bonus!!

Love coming to Carhartt - always a fun experience. This time our server was Kate, very kind and informative! We also chatted with the wine club manager, Connor and the owner Mike. Love how engaging and welcoming everyone is! The wine is delicious and they love dogs - what more could you ask for?!

Richard

Google
Good wine, great atmosphere, and a friendly team. Big thanks to Alyssa for the awesome tasting experience. We really enjoyed the cab!

Google
We did the vineyard tour with Spencer, and it reminded me of why I love wine and wine country. A lovely personal trek through the vineyard, processing facilities and grounds accompanied by a nice variety of delicious wines. Against our better judgement we joined the club because we lived everything we tasted. Also had a delightful little chat with Brooke at the tail end, just topping off the experience. 10/10 would recommend, and fully intend to revisit on another long weekend.

Cynthia

Google
Truly an amazing experience. Vibes and wine were great! We had the pleasure of talking with Mike Carhartt who was extremely friendly and welcoming. We will be coming back soon and can’t wait to join the club!

Yelp
Very fun spot with a great vibe. The history behind the family is great and the wine is quite good. Our server was Jack and he as very attentive and helpful on a busy day Highly recommend! Side note, afterward my wife and I went to Maddie Tavern for a drink and the the gentleman, Connor who runs the wine club overhead me talking about the winery and came over and introduced himself and chatted for a while. Small town and fun to get to know the whole crew! Don't miss this gem in Los Olivos

Dominick H.

Yelp
One of the best places with great wine and wonderful atmosphere. We came here this past weekend and enjoyed some wonderful reds with fun people. The atmosphere and service is great. The back patio is beautiful. Shout out to Mike and Brooke! They're so much fun. We'll definitely be coming back next time we're up there.

Yelp
What an awesome spot in the heart of Los Olivos! The tasting room was open on Thanksgiving which was great and they were so friendly and accommodating. We have a dog who gets a little excited and the staff didn't mind him at all! Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable, it was interesting to learn about the history and the wines too. Something I noticed across Los Olivos, everyone is so complimentary of other local businesses and tasting rooms and there's an excitement to provide recommendations to out-of-towners which is really cool. The back patio of the tasting room is warm, inviting, lots of dogs and families. The wines were great and the merch is very cool. Would definitely visit again!

Doris T.

Yelp
Great spot to enjoy wine tasting! Megan our wine server was very knowledgeable about the wines and the Carhartt family history of wine making. They didn't serve food the day we came. The deli across street has excellent sandwiches that you can bring w you. (Turkey and Brie was excellent) We had our pup w us and it was heaven for her. Shaded patio, water bowls and plenty of people and dog watching. Highly recommend speciality if Megan serving.

Mike M.

Yelp
Lovely bit of wine tasting here. Yes, they are related to the workwear company of the same name. $25 for a wine tasting of 4 delicious reds and a Sauvignon blanc. Very cool covered patio with fountains and wine barrel furniture. Friendly and knowledgeable servers. They are just fine if you bring in food to munch while sipping wine. We bought 3 bottles and received one tasting for free. Will consider joining their wine club.

Shannon C.

Yelp
The ambiance is definitely worth coming for!! Enjoyed the live music tonight and the service was great. The wine flight offered a nice selection of good wines. Family friendly as well!

Linda H.

Yelp
One of the cutest wineries in Los Olivos. Love that it's family owned and managed, and you can buy the apparel on the premise. The tasting was perfection. Starting off with a chilled white and red and then led into stronger reds. They were all super flavorful and delicious. My fave was the first and last. The vibes in the back seating area were chill and inviting. Def coming back!!! Got some merch as well!!

sonny d.

Yelp
We love Carhartt! Christian always creates a welcoming and friendly environment. Megan is such an awesome and knowledgeable server. The vibe here matches the quality of the wine, which is excellent. Become a member and you won't regret it.

Yelp
What a great place to sip on some yummy wine! Our waitress Mari was very sweet and attentive. We met Mike and he checked in on us making sure we were taken care of. We stopped by on a Friday night and there was live music on the back patio with such a fun ambiance. It really feels like a family gathering back there. Highly recommend to anyone looking for tasting room options :)

Julie J.

Yelp
Love the music, that dogs are welcome & outdoor patio vibes! Sauvignon Blanc & Rose are my favorites of the tasting. Our server was friendly & attentive.

Alexa D.

Yelp
WOW! What a fun spot! We ended up here after a long day of tasting in Los Olivos since they are open late and it was just what we needed. Very cool cabin vibes and amazing wine. We did tastings and really enjoyed it! Their reds are absolutely outstanding. However, I was kind of bummed that they don't do industry tastings. They had kind of odd policies. Towards the end of the tasting, things got chaotic. The owner came to our table to chat with us and had the server open up a few bottles for us to taste. I thought this was so kind, but we ended up getting charged for them even though we just got a small taste. Not sure if he was trying to trick us because we had been drinking all day or if our server was just confused. Unfortunately we didn't double check the bill before leaving since we were rushed out at their closing time. After the owner went on to do the same thing at the next table, the wine club manager came over to give us a hard sell. They do have a cool wine club structure, but we weren't really in the mood to get pitched. It's pretty clear that they send the owner and wine club manager to each table when they're on their last few wines. The bill at the end was a complete mess. We went home with a few incorrect bottles and were overcharged and charged for bottles we never got. I felt bad for our server because she was knew and having the owners coming over to open random stuff was probably confusing to her. It felt chaotic and we just paid so we could get out of there, but definitely were way overcharged. I would go back for the amazing wine but will definitely double check my bill and not trust any "free" samples!

Yelp
The Carhartt cabin welcomes the whole family! It is a peaceful retreat that you can choose your own path. The option to stay inside and taste wines with the quiet coziness of being in your own living room to the option of being outside and emerged in a fun relaxed culture. The family of staff that work the cabin make it feel comfortable and inviting. They explain the background of the wine in a way you understand rather than using words only a sommelier would know. The wine speaks for itself though. If you like a wine make sure to purchase it because they run out fast due to popular demand. I would encourage anyone I know to stop by the carhartt cabin. Even our puppy gets excited at the site of the building and even found a new best friend there!

Jack L.

Yelp
Carhartt Family Wines is about what they put in the name: "Family" and very good "Wines" that are a labor of love. I went up to the cabin a couple years back from a recommendation and absolutely loved it. I was not currently at a place to do a wine club membership, but Troy was great the entire time with fantastic hospitality and service. I have been following CFW over the years and feel like they are doing some very special things to try and revamp the industry to make wine attractive to younger crowds while maintaining traditional varietal wines that are awesome. The ambiance of the cabin is great for socialization, they usually have good food establishments right outside, and everyone just seems to enjoy working there. I would click the button on a membership if they had a beautiful vineyard for me to escape to each tasting to enjoy an escape from LA, but that could possibly be too good to be true. Great place, a must visit.

Jen A.

Yelp
We love Carhartt! The wine is amazing and the people are so sweet! We are members, so we head up every quarter to pick up our wine and have a relaxing tasting in the beautiful patio. Don't skip this spot when you're in Los Olivos!

Alex K.

Yelp
Service is always amazing here. The friendly staff is always a plus and it leaves a lasting impression. Not only that, the wines are quite nice to top it off. It maybe the only tasting room in Los Olivos that's actually open late compared to most last call at 4 or so. They have a quaint patio seating in the back which is lovely. Surrounded with lush plants and all the twinkling lights. Not only are the staff amazing, mingling with the guest us always a nice touch to it. There's also a good trunk out front that offers food. Don't know how often they are there, but it's a nice touch.

Mitchell P.

Yelp
There's a lot of tasting room options in this small town, but we only had time for one and so glad we picked this one. Make your way to the lovely covered back patio area with lots of seating areas. Found ourselves a comfy nook and proceeded with the standard tasting flight. The friendly, knowledgeable pourers start you with lighter wines and finish with the deeper reds, each with distinct qualities, all delicious. With all the wine flowing, everyone's in a pretty good mood and the atmosphere light and festive.

Louis 3.

Yelp
Wines and service great. Patio is so relaxing. Very pleasant. Server was helpful and on point.

Mel S.

Yelp
The service was super friendly and chatty, the atmosphere is fun and cozy with the outdoor lights. The wine is ok :)

Yelp
I'm literally trying to formulate another way to say "Wow!" in my head, but the brain just ain't working right at this moment. So, let me just be cliche and spit it out: WOOOOWZA! Incredible wines in a super fun environment with top tier service. Ladies and gents, this is the finest of Los Olivos! I heart Carhartt!!! Out of all of the wineries that I visited during my trip to Santa Ynez Valley, this one was the best experience hands down. I've been to my fair share of wineries, and one thing that is hard to come by nowadays is that true family winery experience. Sure you can find many family owned wineries that are in operation. But how often can you walk into the tasting room and actually chat with the winemaker?! And I'm not talking about during a special wine tasting event. I mean literally walking into the tasting room and having the winemaker pouring their wines for you at the bar. I live for these kinds of interactive experiences. So, I walk in without a reservation hoping to get a table on their cute back patio. Of course it's busy and rightfully so. Angie and Maria greet me and tell me that I can have a seat at the bar while I wait for a table. But let me tell you; once I sat at that bar, I never even left! I stayed there for a few hours... probably longer than I should have, but damn was it fun! Decided to do a tasting, and unbeknownst to me, Chase (the winemaker) started pouring my wines. He didn't immediately announce himself as the winemaker, but I could instantly tell that he was involved in some aspect of the winemaking process. His passion told it all. We chatted about their wine fermentation process to a few of the different wine regions (since I'm from the Bay Area and Sonoma/Napa is in my backyard). This man just exuded passion and knowledge that made me want to soak it up like a sponge. It wasn't until I opened up their catalog that I noticed that I had been chatting with the winemaker himself. I was floored. How amazing that he just casually fraternizes with everyone. So humble. And speaking of that catalog or wine tasting menu; it's so stinking adorable! They actually have pictures of the family and staff! This is truly a family owned operation in the sense that the family is involved in every aspect of the winery. We love to see it, y'all! And the patrons are the friendliest people everrr! So many fun locals keep this place alive and for a good reason. The atmosphere is so chill, relaxing, and welcoming. Literally did not want to leave, and that's the point. It makes total sense why this place thrives. And that WINE! Cannot forget about the most important thing! It's exquisite. I love the distinction between the two different winemakers and their labels (A Mom and Son duo). Both very distinct and different in their own right but also equally tasty. I enjoyed every single wine that I tried, but the standouts for me were their Pinot Noir, Southerly Red Blend, and Rosé. The rosé is fruity, light, and refreshing. Perfect for a warm summer day or for light sipping. The Pinot is very bright and fruit forward. A classic style that's easy drinking. And that Southerly Blend is just whoa!! Beautifully earthy and with complex flavors that are very well balanced. Love, love, looove the wines here! The price points are extremely reasonable for the high quality that you'll receive. I mean dayum... there's nothing bad that I can say about Carhartt! So glad that I found this tasting room and so glad that they are thriving. I'm so excited to come back on my next trip. YOU should definitely pay them a visit too, pronto! You won't regret it, I can promise you that much.

Yelp
Nice place and MAYBE " a good wine ". I said maybe because of the pour. We couldn't even taste the ( any) wine! We have so many wine club membership in this area and other places including Napa , Solvang , Santa Ynez and Temecula etc , I have never seen any pour like this. Maybe a 1/2 ounces! I didn't even taste ANY wine ! So definitely no wine club to sign up or purchase any wine...Also another note ... when we checked in "wine club manager" sat us at the high table. I kindly asked if we can sit one of the low chairs which were empty ,he said they are reserved! I said thank you and sat on the high and start looking around of all those empty ones than he came and moved us to another lower but point is this place was empty and those seats are still empty when we were leaving! It's funny while I was typing this one particular movie came to my mind. Pretty Woman. LOL. "Are you working on commission ? BIG MISTAKE !"

Becky C.

Yelp
Local here just giving a heads up to dog owners It had nothing to do with the staffs performance or their hospitality. I thank Kate for being there and understanding our frustration. I am so thankful for the tasting rooms in downtown LO who accept our four legged family members. Though I feel as mine was pushed out as an owners dog was off leash bothering and entering my dogs personal and protective space. It would be appreciated if all dogs regardless of ownership abide by the same rules keeping everyone's loved four legged furry friends taken care of and out of trouble. I will continue to support your establishment and hope for a better brighter day for all our four legged furry family members

Karen L.

Yelp
Such friendly welcoming service on the gorgeous back patio today. We tried four different glasses and loved them all. The owner was so nice and gave us a history of the winery. Everyone enjoyed and we can't wait to go back!

Reyna M.

Yelp
Love this spot! Cozy and beautiful. We ordered a bottle of red wine and the server was so friendly and recommended a great one. Will definitely be back! This was a great spot to celebrate my friend's birthday!

Kelly S.

Yelp
Carhartt has an amazing covered patio and super friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about the wine. They sell exclusively through the tasting room (no stores or restaurants) which makes you feel like your experience is personalized. From the minute we walked in, we felt welcome. The flight was delicious - we enjoyed everything so much that we ordered a bottle to continue the fun. They let us know they have music and food trucks every other Friday, so we're looking forward to going back soon!

K W.

Yelp
We love this place! Brooke (one of the owners) is the sweetest person ever, and Christian aka Bubs is also a vibe. Everyone here is so nice, and the ambiance and service are great. It's a very chill and laidback place for a wine tasting, and the wines are all unique and delicious. We do a lot of bougie wine tastings and we love those too, but there is something about the family atmosphere here that just can't be beat :) We are members and love bringing people here. Definitely recommend!

Greg B.

Yelp
We have been enjoying Carhartt Family Wines for years. It has been a pleasure to watch their well-deserved success. For years we have been enjoying their tasting room in Los Olivos. While the family friendly atmosphere and unbelievable service has stayed the same, their wines have continued to improve in quality and complexity. It is a must for anyone looking to taste in Los Olivos. I prefer going at 4 once the other wineries start closing. For the first time, yesterday we spent time at their home, ranch, vineyard and winery down the road in Santa Ynez. It was a real treat. If you have the time you won't regret it! Say hit to Brooke and Mike for us.

Brad B.

Yelp
What is an amazing time we had at the Carhartt family Vineyard and winery. The Vineyard was amazing and you can see why these wines are so good. Mike and his wife are great leaders and they treat everybody like family. We are will be excited to come back and revisit, the tasting room and the vineyard for many years to come!

Kevin W.

Yelp
Great patio! Friendly staff, decent wines. Get a little busy on Friday/Saturday nights.

Akiko I.

Yelp
- Locale Destination - It's on Grand Ave and Jonathan st in Los Olivos. In the little area that all the shops, restaurants and wineries. Ambiance: cozy, nice outdoor seating, just music is too loud and too rock'n roll... It could be a nicer music to enjoy wine tasting. Menu: 5 tasting for $20. Just share it with your company so that you can taste more at other wineries. Service: pleasant Bathroom: there's no bathroom here. You need to use the public temporary blue bathroom nearby. Use bathroom at restaurant! Parking: plenty on streets - Gluttony Expedition - $20 for 5 tasting. Probably 1.5 oz pour/each. I recommend to share with 2 people if you do - Don't waste your $ here. Pinot Noir: very light, young, no depth. Southerly: aroma of Red fruits like raspberry. Young. Sangiovese: fruity, light. Syrah: not bad. Medium body, burnt toffee. Merlot: Casis, smooth, fruity - Conqueror's Deduction - $45/bottle at the winery (not retail price at liquor store) for this?! Those light, young, too genetic wine - you can get way better and cheaper wine at Trader Joe's. The same $, you can get way better wine tasting at Foxen Vinyard & winery. I'm not a fan of the wine here. Maybe you should just stick to making pants.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Great wine, great service, great vibe right in the heart of town. The patio area is adorable.

Phia S.

Yelp
Los Olivos is beautiful! Carhartt proved to be an enjoyable location to mingle with friends and sip on wine. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday, so we opted to share a bottle of their Grenache. The Grenache was zestfully fruity with a distant candy apple taste on the palette. A truly great table wine for an outdoor BBQ or afternoon porch drink. What really set this winery apart was their cute outdoor area. I visited on a gorgeous sunny day and was pleasantly surprised by their adorable patio area in the back. It has the perfect amount of shade for wine tasting while enjoying the weather. I also have to mention their apparel that is very popular among Central Coast locals right now. You cannot forget to pick up one of their beanies or hats for only $20. My friends and I all couldn't help ourselves to the rustic, laid-back designs.

Kristen H.

Yelp
So my fiancé and I stayed at the Genevieve hotel for my birthday which we received a tour of wine tastings and one of them was Carhartt family wines. We were really looking forward to this place as part of our many wine tasting venues. We were here for my birthday as part of a nice weekend getaway. We found the place, and found a little spot out front where I parked my mini cooper. As we went inside and had our first tasting, a big black Chevy Z71 either had terrible parking skills or just decided to block us in and hit my car. Because I witnessed this from the window by our seat, my fiancé went out side to kindly ask if he could back up. I guess we accidentally parked in "Big Mikes" parking space who is the owner of Carhartt family wines. He could have asked us to move but instead he was extremly rude and just pulled in and hit my car (my guess to prove his point that this was HIS parking for his truck). I was inside with other customers talking about the incident and we were all shocked. They all commented on how rude he was all because I guess there is a sign that says big mikes parking space. We backed in so we must have missed it. Mike then had to get back into his truck and backup just so we could get out so that is obvious he was just being an asshole and denied ever hitting the car even though we took photos. I am surprised the owner would treat paying customers this rudely. I do not recommend this place. Sorry we parked in your parking space Mike but it doesn't mean you need to hit the car that's parked there. We do not recommend this place you will get better customer service anywhere else.

Cyndi S.

Yelp
Charming family winery. Very nicer staff. They have a comfortable interior and exterior tasting space. Inside was air conditioned and they are dog friendly so my fur baby got a nice relief from the very hot day. We enjoyed a good selection of reds and whites and some delicious selections served chilled which was nice. I wish I could remember the 2 very helpful wine pourers. They had good information and made perfect recommendations for us to try. A unique stop in a town literally packed with tasting rooms.

Priya K.

Yelp
This place has a beautiful covered patio for wine tasting. Appointment recommended but if you walk in early, you are usually good. They are know for their reds. Tasting is $15 for 5 wines waived with 2 bottle purchase. Our favorites were Mourvèdre and Sangiovese. Jackson was wonderful and explained all the wines so well and was very generous with his pours. He even let me try their Chardonnay which was not on the tasting menu :)

Trace V.

Yelp
Update: First time at their new, larger location across the street. The inside is still pretty small but the outdoor patio is the star. Mostly enclosed with tented material on top to protect against the sun - but still letting in those cool breezes. The music was played at the proper level, staff was friendly, and we have only good things to say about Carhartt. Oh, they don't sell their wines at stores or restaurants -- so you have to get it here.

Aram K.

Yelp
Most amazing experience here, we were even given a private Vip behind the scenes tour of the vineyard. Really loved it and enjoyed the wines!

Rick J.

Yelp
A must stop in Los Olivos. I fell in love with Carhartt wines years ago when a client gave me a bottle of their grenache. Last year we stopped at the "cabin" in los Olivos, and enjoyed the wine tasting and ended up joining their wine club. Carhart has a lot of really good wines. (If you can get your hands on a bottle of their Sangiovese, I don't think you'll be disappointed. )Thier Grenache is a real crowd pleaser. Their Albarino is amazing and a new thing they have they called Dos Pinos. Lots of interesting reds and whites Anyway the vibe really is "family " here. Even dealing with the wine club guys Conner and Christian very helpful and friendly everyone here seems to love being in thier team. Great wines and a great bunch of folks!

Amber E.

Yelp
This is our new favorite Los Olivos winery! Really amazing, locally grown and made wines. Super friendly and knowledgeable service; thank you, Spencer! And a beautiful shady back patio with lively music playing, cool vibe, great crowd, and lots of plants and trees. We did the tasting of 5 wines for $30, and loved all of them, but especially the 2018 Sangiovese, 2028 Mourvèdre, and 2017 Syrah (85% Syrah, 15% petit Syrah, called the "Northerly.") We ended up joining the Wine Club, "Bud" level -- just 2 bottles/quarter. We got 4 free tastings (two of which we applied to today), 10% off bottle purchases, and went home with our 2 bottles -- the Sangiovese and Mourvèdre. They also have various members events, such as chili cook-off, rose release party, winemakers' dinner, harvest brunch, virtual tastings, etc. Look forward to our wines, and returning every time we're in town! PS: reservations in advance recommended. They also have tastings/tours at their vineyard/farm.

Ryan S.

Yelp
We visited Carhartt Family Wines for the first time on Friday, November 26 with a party of two. We did make a reservation; however, our daily plans got really switched around and they made every effort to accommodate us several hours early, which they did. The entire staff was very friendly. This is a pretty small operation. At each table is a book with the tasting menu, along with a lot of information about the wines, vines and vineyards that many other wines don't give you. The entire staff is pictured and it is overall a very classy and well put together operation. The courtyard is beautiful and is a relaxing place to sip your wines. It is small, as are most in this area -- so please do make that reservation! The tastings here are currently $20 per person for 5 wines. The fee is waived with a purchase of two bottles per person. Again, we had a super fantastic time, and would definitely return to Carhartt again!

Gnarles M.

Yelp
Such a nice patio to enjoy some wine tasting. We found the variety of wines and knowledgeable staff to make our experience great.

Rick S.

Yelp
Carhartt Wine Tasting is Los Olivos is the best in town. Providing some of the finest wines from the Valley, they also provide a genuine experience whilst tasting. One of the last tasting rooms to close in Los Olivos, you will always encounter a small fiesta.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Awesome spot to visit. Really nice décor with amazing wines and friendly staff. Will visit again soon. Cheers!

Alice W.

Yelp
We made reservations by calling the day of on a lovely Saturday morning/afternoon and Carhartt was very accommodating. They are dog friendly and allow you to picnic in their venue, which a lot of places don't allow on weekends. This isn't a traditional winery with vineyards, but instead is a tasting room. My friend is allergic to red wines and so we could only drink white. They only had one white wine to offer, so we ended up getting the bottle (pictured below). It was a chardonnay, which I'm not normally a fan of, but it was great! It wasn't like a traditional chardonnay, so I definitely recommend if you're looking for a white wine. The staff was super nice. They also sell Carhartt merch (like sweaters and beanies), which is pretty cool. Parking was pretty easy on the side of the road. Bathrooms were a little janky since they were portable restrooms across the street. Overall, a great little place to stop by and have a glass. :)

Maria F.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit to their tasting room. The family history and adventures are quite interesting. The back patio was nicely situated with plenty of seats and shade. It would be great in the fall or spring. It was too hot and humid when we visited. We took home the Buffalo and Rebel Roan wines. The staff was very friendly and easy going. We made reservations, but if you show up as soon as they open, reservations may not be required. We visited on a Tuesday and we were one of two couples at 11AM.

Yelp
We had a lovely time here! Everyone who gave us a pour contributed something different to our experience! A warm smile, helpful background information, and genuine personality! We got to try some options off the menu like there's sparkling Caroline which made us feel valued and made our New Year's day extra special! The wines are world-class and deserve to be just as recognized as Napa and Sonoma! Do yourself a favor and come visit the beautiful town of Los Olivos and also this excellent tasting room!

Yelp
Love almost every single wine I've had from here. The Petit Sirah was definitely a favorite but I tend to favor bolder reds anyway. The tasting room used to be in a much smaller, cute location in Los Olivos, but they've since moved to a much bigger, still cute location just down and across the street. During peak hours, it's a good idea to try and get a reservation, otherwise you might not get a seat!

Yelp
What isn't to like about drinking incredible wine in the most welcoming setting possible. If you aren't already friends or family with someone there at any given time, you'll certainly leave with new ones. It's like going to the best backyard party possible; everyone's cool, the Carhartt family couldn't be more welcoming, and after your first visit, it's pretty hard to not become a consistent haunt.

Yelp
I always want to go wine tasting, especially after the movie, Sideways, popularized wines from the Solvang/Los Olivos area. What usually happens is that we don't make it past Santa Barbara..... nothing wrong with that at all, but when we want to end up in Los Olivos, well, I'm just finally glad we stuck with our plans. We descended upon Carhartt Winery mostly because it had high ratings on Yelp, and honestly, I don't know one place from another. It is a very cute place with a lovely patio area where we did our wine tasting. They have piped in music, foliage, and of course, wine..... so it was very relaxing. We tried the following wines...... 2016 Carhartt Venture "Rooi Aarde" 2017 Zinfandel - La Vista Vineyard 2016 Estate Petite Sirah - Carhartt Vineyard 2015 Venture Petit Verdot - Curtis Vineyard We enjoyed all these wines, but I can't remember now what my favorite was. We were there in December, and it's now mid-May. Maybe the Zinfandel or Petite Sirah, but I really don't remember. When I look at the list of what "nose" and "flavors" there were, I honestly smelled or tasted NONE of what they were talking about..... I'm just not that sophisticated when it comes to understanding the complexities of wine. That being said, like with food, I just know what I like. The young lady assisting us definitely knew her wines and explained everything quite well... even if my memory doesn't remember it now. I'd come back here again for sure, although there are plenty of these wine tasting places to try.

Yelp
A great place for wine tasting. Loose and easy. Can't wait to get back and enjoy the patio and friendly staff.
