This is my second time here and both times were such great experiences. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Very attentive and display great professionalism. The coquito latte and coquito French toast are a MUST if you visit. If you are looking for a delicious and cozy breakfast/brunch spot, check Caribella out!

We visited this place for Saturday brunch with a friend. There was a wait since they don't take reservations, but it wasn't too bad. We ordered the French toast with guava and the Jibarito, and they were absolutely delicious. The French toast perfectly satisfied my craving with its fluffy texture and just the right level of sweetness—I usually don't enjoy overly sweet flavors, but this was spot on. It was our first time trying the Jibarito, a Puerto Rican plantain-based sandwich popular in Chicago, and it was really tasty. They also had a great selection of coffee. If you're looking to treat yourself to a weekend brunch, I highly recommend trying this place out!

Food was great. It was fresh and super hot when we got it. Service was a bit slow. The hostess and waitress were really nice and polite but it seemed they needed another server since it did take a good while before the waitress made it to our table. Appetizers took a bit long but worth the wait. The coconut shrimp were a really good size and the sauce was amazing.

Loved it here!! The food was outstanding, especially for breakfast food which is easy to be bland. Great hot sauce too. Their "touch of Caribbean" was great, especially on the breakfast potatoes. Prices were reasonable, portions were generous, and our server was super attentive and took care of everything. I had the avocado breakfast club with egg. She had the Caribella breakfast combo which was good too; good pancakes. 10/10

I tried the chicken and waffles plantains. All I have to say is it was "Delicious!" I recommend trying it when you go visit. The prices are a bit high, but the food is worth it. You also have to try the coquito latte. It was something you have to try, very good. I will definitely be returning for more meals to come. Next time I will take pictures.

Absolutely loved the food and service. Sure there was a wait, but for good reason. I ordered an omelet, French toast, and coquito which was great. The syrup for the French toast must have had a bit of liqueur to it which gave the French toast an amazing taste. Eat your next breakfast here!

We ordered Guava French Toast, Pancakes, and the Ribeye Combo. It was all really good. The service was great! All the ladies were very kind and friendly. The atmosphere is very clean and cozy with beautiful Caribbean themed paintings.

This is our third time here - in almost as many months! The food is fabulous. I love the Isla and my rather particular husband is always extremely happy with his omelet. The specialty coquito coffee drink is so worth having. We also have really enjoyed the coquito French toast. It can get busy on the weekend so there can be a wait but so worth it. I did just learn that they are BYOB. Mom POV: they have been very welcoming of our baby, even with the stroller (we often walk over while visiting the area). We are not in the high chair stage yet but they do have them. I have not seen a changing table. Luckily I have not needed it while there as of yet. I could make it work in one of the benches by the bathroom if I really needed to. It has worked out ok for us with our little guy.

SUCH A CUTE BRUNCH PLACE!! went to catch up with a friend and was pretty busy on a Sunday morning but not busy enough for a wait at 11am. Tried both the Guava French Toast and the Caribella Skillet which both had lots of flavor! Portions were decently large but the highlight was the coquito latte!! amazing flavor and such cute presentation in the mugs :) Would come back for the latte and stay for the food. The service was decent and did not feel rushed while eating but food did take a bit of time to arrive even taking into account their busyness. Parking available on side streets for free!

This was my first time here and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived around 10:30 and did not have to wait to be seated on a Saturday morning. However, it did fill right up after being seated. Everything on the menu looked amazing and I'll definitely be back to try everything else. The guava nectar was too good! The caribella skilled was good, but could've used some hot sauce of some sort- I did like how they used plantains instead of potatoes. The protein lovers skillet was packed full of several proteins and veggies! The pancakes were okay in my opinion, fluffy but not very flavorful. The wait for food was not too long, but a bit longer due to the space being full of customers. The prices are very affordable too! I would definitely recommend this spot and will be back!

I'll preface this by saying we got delivery so it was warm but not fresh on the table. Honestly I was a little underwhelmed by Caribella. Given the menu I was super excited to try it. I went with the Caribella skillet and kids size guava pancakes (which was actually three decent sized pancakes!). My husband got the chorizo skillet. He really enjoyed the chorizo meat but the rest of his skillet he said was underwhelming. My skillet was a bust... the plaintains were dry and not cooked properly. I have never had plaintains like that from a South American restaurant... ever. Very unappetizing. The chicken sausage was the consistency of a hot dog, it was strange. Def wouldn't get that again. The guava pancakes were decent, I liked the guava sauce, wish they gave me more of it bc it was a tiny container but I would order them again.

My friends and I went here because one of us lives by here and I'd been eyeing this place for a while. I am so glad we got here for brunch - we got there around 12:30pm on a weekend and was happy to be immediately seated despite being a group of 5. We went at a great time too because by the time we left every table was taken and a few folks were waiting. I definitely love to see this neighborhood spot thriving and the place is cute - natural light and beach paintings. Food - I got the sorullitos and coquito french toast. Everybody Loved the sorullitos including myself and they are personally some of the best I've had in the city but I've only had them a handful of times. Even my friends who don't like corn dough and corn batter (think corn dogs for example) really enjoyed eating this, including a picky vegetarian. I would absolutely go back here and order the sorullitos again. The coquito french toast was also yummy - sweet but not overwhelmingly so. We got a kids order of guava pancakes to share and that was the perfect amount. I'm not sure if I'd go with sweet mains next time. My friends got the Caribbean chicken skillet, breakfast burger, and the Caribella skillet. They liked what they got and I also thought the Caribbean chicken skillet was yummy.

Wonderful and quick service. I went there on a Thursday morning, and was seated immediately to my pleasant surprise! Ordered a custom omelette and my only regret is getting American cheese instead of mozzarella. The buttermilk pancakes that came on the side, were so cute and fluffy I was full off a couple of bites.

So happy I randomly selected this place! I got the breakfast avocado club. So yummy, full of flavor, and fresh ingredients. The other patrons in the restaurant had clean plates, too. The service was great, super quick and friendly. This is a great place to go for a quick bite to eat, catch up with a friend, or a "treat yourself" date!!

Yet another city brunch post to share! Caribella is delicious spot for some brunch bites in Logan Square. Their menu has all of the classics but also branches out with some unique flavors including their signature guava pancakes. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the dishes we sampled. The restaurant is a bit small inside but offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Would happily stop by Caribella again on my next visit to Chicago.

This place has THE BEST steak breakfast sandwich in Chicago. I dream of this steak sandwich, it's just that good. It has scrambled eggs, steak, onion, mixed greens, tomato, chipotle mayo & choice of cheese. They even offer habanero ghost pepper cheese if you can handle it. You can either do ciabatta bread or a tomato basil wrap. I'm very picky when it comes to steak and they always nail it, the steak is very flavorful, juicy and tender! The cheese is perfectly melted and the creaminess of the chipotle mayo and fresh veggies just make this sandwich phenomenal! I haven't tried any of the other items from here because it's hard to get something else when you find something you absolutely love. Service is decent and can be a bit slow at times, it is usually very busy though during breakfast/lunch on the weekends. You may have to ask them to refill your water a few times but the staff is very friendly. The place is clean and bright with some Caribbean vibes to it.

Lovvvved the service here! Our waiter literally helped me with my order, making suggestions and accommodations due to allergies, so open and kind, it made the first visit so much better. We all loved our meals! We ordered the French toast, the burger and a skillet. The coffee is so bomb! That leche latte was soooo good! I'd come back just for the coffee. It's such a cute and colorful space. Nothing disappointed. Just visit!

Our waitress - I wish I had gotten her name - was so incredibly helpful and patient with having our large group to serve. And my breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in a long time.

I thought this breakfast spot is a great bang for your buck! I got the coquito latte which was super delicious and sweet. If you don't like your latte on the sweeter side, I would just get a regular latte. For my meal I got the chorizo breakfast scramble with an over medium egg. Everything tasted very good, especially with their prices!

This place was so delicious! Their menu stood out to me when I was browsing around for brunch options, and I am so glad we decided to go. I got the Isla omelette (ham off the bone, sweet plantains, Swiss cheese, and bell pepper) and my husband got the Cubano skillet. We also shared a side of the guava French toast. Everything was great. Not sure what they do to their breakfast potatoes, but they were extremely addictive and I couldn't pinpoint the extra something that made them so special. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot in the Logan Square/Avondale area!

I love it when business owners reach out about their businesses because it means they care. What I don't like is their inability to take constructive criticism. A good response will be "I am sorry you didn't like the food, I hope you give us a chance and you will see that we are better than that." I would have been there again and again. As you can see I am not your average yelper. I don't have a million reviews, I don't try to fish for free opportunities. I only write about places that really speak to me. Also, I am sorry that I didn't let you know that the food wasn't good but a good server would inquire why a person that ordered three dishes, didn't eat the meals nor wanted to take them home. Maybe it really was a missed opportunity, maybe taste is truly subjective but three bland meals? Thanks for the geography lesson. Here is one from me, save the "salt" for the food.

Delicious brunch food here! Checked it out on a busy Sunday brunch time and had to sit outside or wait 15 minutes since the tables inside were completely full. We got sat and checked out their delicious Caribbean menu. I ordered the iced amaretto latte and the steak, egg, and cheese sandwich. The drinks took about 20 ish minutes as the server was super busy. The coffee was strong and delicious! The food took a little bit longer to recieve as well. The sandwich was pretty good. We were ready for the check since everything took so long overall. Would highly recommend to go when it's not during the peak hours!

Don't be deterred if you're not a local and it feels slow inside when you walk by! This spot is amazing. The food is so fresh, super authentic and I can't wait to go back! Don't forget to have coffee!

I got their Iced Coquito Latte and the traditional French toast which I made a combo with eggs and sausage. I didn't like the sausage personally but the server noticed without me mentioning it and got me bacon instead!

The Guava French toast was tasty but beyond rich and filling, I almost ate half before feeling too full. Always order a bowl of Sorullitos for the table, a great start to the meal! Today the kitchen was slow to get our food out even though it was not busy, but as typical the service was wonderful and we will be back soon I'm sure!

Delicious Puerto Rican food that tastes the closest to my mom's home cooking! Just go and enjoy the parcha juice and coquito latte alongside good eats.

Everything we ordered was fire. I got the Caribbean Chicken Skillet and it was fantastic. Everything seasoned perfectly too, might be some of the best jerk chicken I've ever had. Be prepared for things to be a little pricey. Every entree floated around $14-$18 but I'd say it's worth it. Staff was really nice and the inside was actually really gorgeous. Would Scran again.

I am NOT a breakfast person but this spot was sooo good and just perfect for a nice Sunday morning spot. We had to wait for a table but were seated within 15 minutes. The interior is cute with the beach wall art and the Spanish music playing! I ordered off the special menu and got a breakfast jibarito with rice. This was good, and the Puerto Rican rice tastes just like my grandmas. We also got the guava French toast to share which was a delicious treat! I'd recommend sharing since it can be pretty filling. I also tried the coquito latte which was a bit too sweet but still something fun to get if you're craving a sweet crafted coffee. I'd definitely come back here to try more items on the menu!

Chose this spot for my birthday brunch with a party of 9 and even with the small space they made accommodations to seat us all in a timely fashion. The setting was very family-friendly and nailed the Caribbean vibe. The food was very tasty and eye-catching, as I had the Caribella combo and the coquito latte. Would go back to try the Coquito French Toast & Jibarito sandwich as my friends loved their dishes. Thank you again for a good time with even better food.

Oh em gee, Caribella is the spot! Searched the internet for a great brunch option and Caribella made it onto a few lists- after visiting I can see why. It's a smaller cafe, but super cute inside- nice, clean, and bright. The kitchen is towards the back but also feels like your family's kitchen since it's a bit more of an open concept. The employees were kind and attentive. I started with an iced mocha and ordered the Cubano for lunch with rice as the side. Literally one of the best Cuban sandwiches I've had- the bread was fresh, meat cooked well and a great ratio of pickles/mustard. I think you can also tell a lot about how a restaurant makes their rice and I can wholeheartedly say they put their heart into their food. Their rice was reminiscent of days visiting my aunts- you know the one you're always excited to visit especially when food is involved! If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping by, if we were local I'd be there all of the time.

I was in the area with a friend and wanted to try something new. I rarely dine-in for breakfast, but we had a hangover and were craving it. I know this place is like a Caribbean-themed restaurant (catering to mostly Cuban or Puerto Rican dishes), but the hostess recommended French toast or the skillets which I found to be interesting. We both went with different skillets. I have to say, we spent way more time in here than I wanted to. The place was busy although there were a few open tables inside and outside when we arrived. They were likely down a server or two (?), so we had to wait a little. No problem. The main issue was how long it took for the food to come out. Either they were slammed or just understaffed, but it took a whiiiiile for it to come out. They also came out after we had our order taken to let us know they ran out of avocado. That was disappointing. I'm really easy going and am not the one to complain, so it didn't really bother us even though we were pretty hungry. I think it would have been a good gesture if the server or a staff member has come over to apologize for the delay or at least do something about it. I've never waited that long for something as simple as a skillet. It might've just been an off day, so it's alright. I'd still be willing to try them again, and maybe even sit on the patio. A HUGE plus is that they are BYOB. One big reason to come back!

Decided to switch up my normal brunch routine and check out Caribella! First of all, the decor is so on theme and the service was exceptional. I got the famous Coquito coffee- iced and non dairy and thought the coconut flavor was a bit too overpowering. Didn't really like the chunks of coconut cream at the bottom but it was a fun drink to try. Got 2 skillets and really liked the addition of plantains instead of potatoes. Could've used a bit more seasoning but it was cooked very well. Don't let my average score deter you from going- i still recommend giving them a shot!

Very very very good. Especially if you are trying to try a taste of the Caribbean. Everything g is authentic and good. But the coffee will hit You as soon as you step in the door. I'll be back. Only Negative point is that it's quite small and doesn't get much ventilation. So you'll come out smelling like the kitchen.

Loved everything! I only wish I had remembered to take pictures of the food. From the Colada coffee to the omelette, pancakes, potatoes and French toast...all of it came beautifully plated and lived up to how good it looked. The added bonus was that our server was extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. Will definitely be back to try the coquito French toast.

I've driven by several times and not noticed until I went there for my birthday brunch. Attentive waiter and varied menu. We ordered the garden skillet, house special French toast and house special breakfast sandwich with an over easy egg. Was delicious and we left very full

Perfect place for brunch. We sat outside and the patio furniture was pretty comfortable. The food came out hot. I got the chorizo skillet with sweet plantains. The combination was SO good and very flavorful. Everything was cooked well and properly seasoned.

Cozy, casual and delicious breakfast spot. Coquito French Toast is fantastic. Friendly service too. Only caution is if you're in a time crunch, since they don't take reservations there is going to be a wait on the weekends. Gave our group extra time to catch-up, so didn't mind!

The food here is incredible. I got the Special Yuca Pulled Pork Skillet and subbed the veggie sausage. Everything was crispy and so tasty. I've never had yuca before but I'm never coming back from it after these garlicky cubes went in my tummy! Coffee was perfect as well as the cappuccino. Come here for the vibes as well the place is bright and inviting. Will be coming back!

This place is a small beautiful gem. The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly. This is my second time going and I throughly enjoyed myself. 10 out of 10 highly recommend. FYI you can also do byob of your chose to enjoy. This place is definitely on my Favorite's list!!!

This place was just ok. We tried this after restaurant after seeing it featured on ChrisDoloEats' IG page. We came on a random Wednesday around noon. Despite there being a few tables open, we would told there would be a 20 minute wait. I'm assuming this was due to low staffing. Once we got seated we immediately ordered 2 coquito lattes (one hot , one iced) and both were pretty good. Enough to order 2 more. We also ordered the steak jibarito with arroz con gandules and the Caribbean chicken skillet. The jibarito was lacking that garlic flavor we were expecting. The meat was dry. The plantains were fried perfectly though. If I hadn't read that it came with chipotle mayo, I would've never known. The flavor wasn't there. The rice portion was very small especially for a Puerto Rican place where you usually get a mountain of rice with any meal. The skillet was underwhelming. The flavor was good but the chicken was rubbery. If you've ever had chicken breast grilled at Mariano's you know what I'm talking about. Overall I think it was missing some type of sauce. Service wise, the waitress was very courteous. The place was clean and well lit. Not sure we would come back.

This place feels like a Vitamin D boost. Highly recommend a winter visit if you could use a break from the cold climate and some guava pancakes too.

So they have remodeled this place up years ago and it has UPGRADED! It's owned by a mother daughter duo who are amazing! They are so welcoming when you're there. The change in paint color really livened the place up. They added bright new tropical decorations which I loved! They added a tropical moral in back that is a great spot to take a picture at. Not to mention the door they added! You have to see it! Now they cut their menu down which was an awesome idea. They have healthy alternatives to Caribbean/Puerto Rican food. They mainly serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch. I have attached some pictures of the food we've had there on our multiple visits.

I stand by my initial review years later. We love this place! Their food is amazing! Their coquito latte is absolutely exquisite. I love their breakfast sandwiches and platanos are also very flavorful and filling. It is a great place for all your meals!

Diversity under one roof is not to be missed. This is one of Chi"s better kept secret. A must try. Guava BBQ!??? Oh yes

I pass through Fullerton every day for work and always have the curiosity to enter until I did and Im glad I did GREAT FOOD LOVE IT! and the cortadito my Favorite!

This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! This will be our new go-to breakfast place moving forward! Things we LOVED: -great dog friendly patio area -AMAZING food (Caribella skillet, guava French toasts and their plantain chilaquiles special!) -DELICIOUS coffee drinks (do not pass on their coquito latte!!) -SUPER friendly staff This experience was so refreshing given how crazy some brunch places can get!!

The wait was a bit longer than expected, but it is a small intimate setting without many tables, and because of the cooler weather, they weren't serving the patio. From curb to serve, it was 40 minutes to be seated and another 20-25 to receive our order. Getting past the wait was most of the battle, though. The chorizo skillet was well-seasoned and there were a number of options for the egg combo that looked appealing enough to try. The eggs themselves on both dishes were cooked fairly hard. We would've enjoyed them a bit under. But, overall, a tasty meal and would return.

I'm not even done with my food and I need to tell ya'll to stop what you're doing and get this. Came for breakfast on a cold Chicago morning, ordered the Caribella Skillet and BAM! transported through time and space to a hammock in Vieques. Whoever had the idea to use garlic plantains instead of potatoes should be given a Nobel prize. Staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Seriously, why are you still reading this...get it. ¡Azucar!

Great service. Unique Caribbean twist on breakfast. Garlic-seasoned potatoes are very tasty. Extensive coffee drink options. A smaller space, but cozy. It's a quieter option than something like Golden Nugget.

Wow. This place puts out some Amazing Dishes. Wife found this place and wanted to try so we walked over for lunch and got a little table outside. The menu is small and straightforward. A wonderful cafe that has a perfect cafe feeling where as the food and drinks have a great Caribbean feeling. The service was fantastic. The food omg was it amazing. The Puerto Rican Rice (Arroz Con Gandules) was amazeballs. The Cubano is one of the best I have had in the states. The table next to us ordered the Frittata and the smells of peppers and great spices invaded our area. I will for sure try this one soon. Boom! Im going to be a regular.

We got takeout from here a few weeks ago. Ordered online as soon as they opened and food was ready in 30 minutes. Picked up immediately, only to find that our food was already soggy and cold, as though it had been sitting out a long time. Would not recommend.

Went here with a friend for brunch last week, and it was a nice surprise in my neighborhood! Of note, wait times are long and everything's a little less than ideal right now because the restaurant is very short staffed. This place is cute and thoughtful with a delightful little menu. I'm eager to be back and try more. The food was good not great but I think that's more a staffing issue right now than anything else. Everyone was super nice, the space is cute, and I believe this spot has tons of potential. I'm eager to go back and try them again!

Found myself in the neighborhood, this place was already in que to visit and this was the day. I like the Oceanside ambience, service was a little slow although only a handful of people were there, and the A/C was on blast...yikes. Honestly, the food was okay, perhaps I will return in the future. Btw, the tea was good, I needed it to warm myself up.
